Hello all..this is driving me nuts. I have a navigation menu I would like to display based upon user roles (using.net membership) After several hours and headaches (from banging my head against the desk) I was wondering if someone can point me in the error of my ways. JFreeChart CategoryPlot overwrites categories

Hi, I am new to using JFreeChart and I'm sure there is a simple solution to my problem . . PROBLEM: I have a chart that shows multiple "events types" along the date X axis. The Y axis shows the "event category". My problem is that only the latest date of an event type is shown for each category. In the example below The chart shows data points for Event Type 1 at June 20th(Category 1) and at June 10th (Category 2). I had also added a data point for June 10th, Category 1 but the June 20th point erases it. I think I am misunderstanding how the CategoryPlot is working. Am I using the wrong type of chart? I thought a scatter chart would be the ticket but it only accepts numerical values. I need to have discrete string categories on my Y-axis. How do I load an image from sd card into coverview

I am doing an application which consists of a cover flow. Currently I am trying to make the cover flow images be obtained from the sd card. SQLAlchemy session management in long-running process

Scenario: A .NET-based application server (Wonderware IAS/System Platform) hosts automation objects that communicate with various equipment on the factory floor. CPython is hosted inside this application server (using Python for .NET). The automation objects have scripting functionality built-in (using a custom, .NET-based language). These scripts call Python functions. The Python functions are part of a system to track Work-In-Progress on the factory floor. The purpose of the system is to track the produced widgets along the process, ensure that the widgets go through the process in the correct order, and check that certain conditions are met along the process. The widget production history and widget state is stored in a relational database, this is where SQLAlchemy plays its part. For two reasons: There is another family of functions, sequence functions. The sequence functions call several of the basic functions. One sequence function should equal one database transaction. I need to be able to use the library from other environments. a) From a TurboGears web application. In that case, session management is done by TurboGears. b) From an IPython shell. I want to the user to be able to search for a record in a DB. The fetch and the results returned work perfectly. I am having a hard time setting the UItableview to display the result tho. The application continually crashes at cellForRowAtIndexPath. Please, someone help before I have a heart attack over here. SQL -- How to combine three SELECT statements with very tricky requirements

I have a SQL query with three SELECT statements. A picture of the data tables generated by these three select statements is located at www.britestudent.com/pub/1.png. Each of the three data tables have identical columns. I want to combine these three tables into one table such that: (1) All rows in top table (Table1) are always included. (2) Rows in the middle table (Table2) are included only when the values in column1 (UserName) and column4 (CourseName) do not match with any row from Table1. Both columns need to match for the row in Table2 to not be included. (3) Rows in the bottom table (Table3) are included only when the value in column4 (CourseName) is not already in any row of the results from combining Table1 and Table2. I have had success in implementing (1) and (2) with an SQL query like this: SELECT DISTINCT UserName AS UserName, MAX(AmountUsed) AS AmountUsed, MAX(AnsweredCorrectly) AS AnsweredCorrectly, CourseName, MAX(course_code) AS course_code, MAX(NoOfQuestionsInCourse) AS NoOfQuestionsInCourse, MAX(NoOfQuestionSetsInCourse) AS NoOfQuestionSetsInCourse FROM ( "SELECT statement 1" UNION "SELECT statement 2" ) dt_derivedTable_1 GROUP BY CourseName, UserName Where "SELECT statement 1" is the query that generates Table1 and "SELECT statement 2" is the query that generates Table2. I can get away with using the MAX() function because values in the AmountUsed and AnsweredCorrectly columns in Table1 will always be larger than those in Table2 (and they are identical in the last three columns of both tables). What I fail at is implementing (3). Any suggestions on how to do this will be appreciated. It is tricky because the UserName values in Table3 are null, and because the CourseName values in the combined Table1 and Table2 results are not unique (but they are unique in Table3). After implementing (3), the final table should look like the table in picture 2.png with the addition of the last row from Table3 (the row with the CourseName value starting with "4. Klasse..." I have tried to implement (3) using another derived table using SELECT, MAX() and UNION, but I could not get it to work. Symfony sfDoctrineGuard plugin sfGuardUser module

When using sfDoctrineGuard plugin, it automatically generates the backend administration functionality where I can edit users of the system and assign them permissions. So I visit http://.../backend_dev.php/sf_guard_user/:id/edit where I am presented with the user's information including the available permissions to select. By default the permissions are shown as a multiple select box, HTML follows: <select name="sf_guard_user[permissions_list][]" multiple="multiple" id="sf_guard_user_permissions_list"> <option value="1">Permission1</option> <option value="2">Permission2</option> <option value="3">Permission3</option> <option value="4">Permission4</option> </select> What I would prefer is a list of checkboxes. So I searched around and found that if I add the option "expanded" set to true to the following code: 'permissions_list' => new sfWidgetFormDoctrineChoice(array('multiple' => true, 'model' => 'sfGuardPermission', 'expanded' => true,)), The code is part of this file: lib/form/doctrine/sfDoctrineGuardPlugin/base/BasesfGuardUserForm.class.php. I don't think I should've edited this file (potential for changes to be overwritten should sfDoctrineGuard ever be re-installed) but couldn't think of another way to make it work. I started writing my own sfWidgetFormDoctrineChoicePermission class that extends the same class as sfWidgetFormDoctrineChoice but am struggling to edit the rendering functions correctly for the desired output. Is this the correct way to go about this work? I also need to integrate my sfGuardUserProfile model into the edit user page (same as above), I read somwhere that editing the generator.yml file for the sfGuardUser plugin module and simply adding the field names from the sfGuardUserProfile table would make it work, but sadly it doesn't. Any help with any of my queries would be appreciated. Thanks

Calling webservice from WCF service

I am having an issue consuming a webservice (c#.net) from a WCF service. The error i am getting is EndPointNotFoundException "TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it" I wrote a unit test to check if i could send a request to the web service and it worked fine [The unit test is using the same binding configuration as my WCF service] The web service and WCF service (client) have basichttp binding. Did anyone had similar kind of issue calling a webservice from a WCF service? Saving images only available when logged in

Hi, I've been having some trouble getting images to download when logged into a website that requires you to be logged in. The images can only be viewed when you are logged in to the site, but you cannot seem to view them directly in the browser if you copy its location into a tab/new window (it redirects to an error page - so I guess the containing folder has be .htaccess-ed). I've downloaded and used Metro to generate Java proxy classes, but they aren't generating what I expect, and I believe this is because of the WSDL that the WCF service generates. Since this service has always worked in Visual Studio I've never questioned this before, but maybe that could be causing my problem? Anyhow, when I run Metro's wsimport.bat on the service the following error message is generated: [WARNING] src-resolve.4.2: Error resolving component 'q1:guid' and the outputted Java version of TestResponse lacks any of the properties from ResponseMessage. I hacked the WSDL a bit and changed ErrorIdentifier to be typed as xsd:string, which makes the message about resolving the GUID type go away, but I still don't get any of ResponseMessage's properties. Finally, I altered the WSDL to include the 3 properties from ResponseMessage in TestResponse, and of course the end result is that the generated .java file contains them. However, when I actually call the WCF service from Java, those 3 properties are always null. Any advice, apart from writing the proxy classes myself?

WCF .svc Accessible Over HTTP But Accessing WSDL Causes "Connection Was Reset"

I have a WCF service which is hosted on IIS6 on a Win2003 SP2 machine. The WCF service is hosting correctly and is visible over HTTP giving the usual "To test this service, you will need to create a client and use it to call the service" message. However accessing the .svc?WSDL link causes the connection to be reset. It works fine through the local dev server in VS2008 but fails after deployment. For further information, the targeted machine does not have a firewall (it's on the internal network) and the logs show the site thinks it's fine with 200 OK responses. I've also tried updating the endpoint with the full URL to my service however it still makes no difference. I have looked into some of the other options - creating a separate WSDL manually and exposing it through the metadata properties (really don't want to do that due to the maintenance issues). If anyone can offer any thoughts on this or any other workarounds it would be greatly appreciated.

uiscrollview not switching image subviews

I'm building a comic viewer app, that consists of two view controllers, the root viewcontroller basically displays a view where a user decides what comic they want to read by pressing a button. The second viewController actually displays the comic as a uiscrollview with a toolbar and a title at the top. So the problem I am having is that the comic image panels themselves are not changing from whatever the first comic you go to if you select another comic after viewing the first one. The way I set it up, and I admit it's not exactly mvc, so please don't hate, anyway the way I set it up is each comic uiscrollview consists of x number of jpg images where each comic set's image names have a common prefix and then a number like 'funny1.jpg', 'funny2.jpg', 'funny3.jpg' and 'soda1.jpg', 'soda2.jpg', 'soda3.jpg', etc... so when a user selects a comic to view in the root controller it makes a call to the delegate and sets ivars on instances of the comicviewcontroller that belongs to the delegate (mainDelegate.comicViewController.property) I set the number of panels in that comic, the comic name for the title label, and the image prefix. The number of images changes(or at least the number that you can scroll through), and the title changes but for some reason the images are the same ones as whatever comic you clicked on initially. I'm basing this whole app off of the 'scrolling' code sample from apple. I thought if I added a viewWillAppear:(BOOL) animated call to the comicViewController everytime the user clicked the button that would fix it but it didn't, after all that is where the scrollview is laid out. Synchronizing issue: I want the main thread to be run before another thread but it sometimes doesn´t

I have done my own small concurrency framework (just for learning purposes) inspired by the java.util.concurrency package. This is about the Callable/Future mechanism. My code below is the whole one and is compilable and very easy to understand. My problem is that sometimes I run into a deadlock where the first thread (the main thread) awaits for a signal from the other thread. But then the other thread has already notified the main thread before the main thread went into waiting state, so the main thread cannot wake up. FutureTask.get() should always be run before FutureTask.run() but sometimes the run() method (which is called by new thread) runs before the get() method (which is called by main thread). I don´t know how I can prevent that. This is a pseudo code of how I want the two threads to be run. //From main thread: Executor.submit().get() (in get() the main thread waits for new thread to notify) ->submit() calls Executor.execute(FutureTask object) -> execute() starts new thread -> new thread shall notify `main thread` I cannot understand how the new thread can start up and run faster than the main thread that actually starts the new thread. Android: Get the X and Y coordinates of a TextView?

I want to add those value inside the circle when the circle is drag over the other circle. the first option that I have is to get the X and Y of the circle, but I get it. Can anyone fix my code? This code runs correctly on Glassfish v 2.1 But when the server was updated to Glassfish v 2.1.1, the attribute stopped to be passed correctly. Instead of passing edited item (when we change the values in table row, we are actually changing the underlying object fields), the source item is submitted to server, i.e. the item that was previously given to the page. All the changes that were made on the page are discarded. I tried to update jsf version from 1.2_02 to 1.2_14 (we are using jsf RI), but it had no effect. Perhaps anyone came across the same problem? Any help and suggestions will be appreciated.

Openlayers - LayerRedraw() / Feature rotation / Linestring coords

TLDR: I have an Openlayers map with a layer called 'track' I want to remove track and add track back in. Or figure out how to plot a triangle based off one set of coords & a heading(see below). I have an image 'imageFeature' on a layer that rotates on load to the direction being set. I want it to update this rotation that is set in 'styleMap' on a layer called 'tracking'. I set the var 'stylemap' to apply the external image & rotation. The 'imageFeature' is added to the layer at the coords specified. 'imageFeature' is removed. 'imageFeature' is added again in its new location. Rotation is not applied.. The image will move in coordinates as it should though. So what am I doing wrong with the redraw function or how can I get this image to rotate live? But it runs through the style map every n sec, but no updates to rotation and the variable for heading is updating correctly if i put a watch on it in firebug. If I were to draw a triangle with an array of points & linestring. How would I go about facing the triangle towards the heading. Logcat gives me a null pointer exception at line 96 of the faulty code, which is the album_title.setText line. It could be a problem with my casting but Google tells me this is ok :D Thanks for any help and let me know if you need more info!

Asp.net Ajax problem

Hey I installed the Asp.net Ajax toolkit. In my site I use the NummericUpDown from that toolkit. Now, I want that a label changes when the NummericUpDown Textboxes changes. I try to use JavaScript for this, but I always get the following error: 'ASP.orders_aspx' does not contain a definition for 'changeAmount' and no extension method 'changeAmount' accepting a first argument of type 'ASP.orders_aspx' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Why does C# thread die?

This is my 1st C# project so I may be doing something obviously improper in the code below. I am using .NET, WinForms (I think), and this is a desktop application until I get the bugs out. UpdateGui() uses Invoke((MethodInvoker)delegate to update various GUI controls based on received serial data and sends a GetStatus() command out the serial port 4 times a second. Thread Read() reads the response from serial port whenever it arrives which should be near immediate. SerialPortFixer is a SerialPort IOException Workaround in C# I found at http://zachsaw.blogspot.com/2010/07/serialport-ioexception-workaround-in-c.html. After one or both threads die I'll see something like The thread 0x1288 has exited with code 0 (0x0). in the debug code output. jquery-autocomplete does not work with my django app.

Hi everybody, I have a problem with the jquery-autocomplete pluging and my django script. I want an easy to use autocomplete plugin. And for what I see this (http://code.google.com/p/jquery-autocomplete/) one seems very usefull and easy. For the django part I use this (http://code.google.com/p/django-ajax-selects/) I modified it a little, because the out put looked a little bit weired to me. It had 2 '\n' for each new line, and there was no Content-Length Header in the response. First I thought this could be the problem, because all the online examples I found had them. But that was not the problem. If I just copy the line into my browser, I can see the the response. (this issue is solved, it was a safety feature from ajax not to get data from another domain) For example when I am typing Bi in the textfield, the url "http://gladis.org/ajax/tag?q=Bi&max... is generated. When you enter this in your browser you get this response: 4|Bier|Bier 43|Kolumbien|Kolumbien 33|Namibia|Namibia Now my ajax call get the correct response, but there is still no list showing up with all the possible entries. I tried also to format the output, but this doesn't work either. I set brakepoints to the function and realized that they won't be called at all.
