    With alle the new paralell programming features in .NET 4.0, what would be a a simple and fast way to implement the producer-consumer pattern (where at least one thread is producing/enqueuing task items and another thread executes/dequeues these tasks).     Some mobile devices send the following incorrect requests to our servers : GET / HTTP/1.0 Accept: User-Agent : xxx The empty Accept header causes our Ruby on Rails server to throw back a 500 error. In Apache, the following directive allows us to rewrite the header before sending it to the application RoR server in order to cope with the broken devices : RequestHeader edit Accept ^$ "*/*" early We're currently setting up nginx, but achieving the same work-around is proving difficult. We are able to set : proxy_set_header Accept */*; However, this seems to have to be done inconditionally. Whenever trying to do : if ($http_accept !~ ".") { proxy_set_header Accept */*; } It complains with the message : "proxy_set_header" directive is not allowed here So, using nginx, how can we set the HTTP Accept header to */* when it is empty before sending the request to the application server ?

    my sister is using Acer laptop, that has an intel WLAN card and supports windows hosted network(checked in command prompt).Am using the basic way using netsh wlan command also, then am using netsh start wlan command.The hosted network gets created and it could b seen in "Network and Sharing Center" as the . I also went to Device manager, selected WLan card, made sure"allow this device to wake computer from sleep" is selected. Now I went to the newly created , clicked properties, and under sharing enabled allow this to be shared(but I am not able to select The name of the wifi my sis wants to share (in this case her college wifi name, LEts say QP4,Ethernet and Local Area connection are the only two option that are coming). Also the SSID name is not being shown in her mobile nor when I click the tower icon at the tray area,Any suggestions on what might be going wrong?She is using windows 8. Should I look for updated drivers? Her laptop is only 6 months old, i don't think the drivers are outdated. Any advice shall be appreciated.

In my user table, i have user_id, first_name, last_name, email, etc. Should I somehow relate the user_id of the user and the friend in a friend table?     I've got an eeePC with a really tiny monitor, so whenever I go (home, faculty, parent's home, friend's home, ...) I attach it to any external monitor I can find. If it matters my system is like this: Archlinux Linux 2.6.36 Xorg 7.6 X server 1.9.2 Intel Corporation Mobile 945GME Express Integrated Graphics Controller (fully accelerated by intel modules) When I boot up the system, it uses the integrated monitor (LVDS1) only, and I have to manually manually switch to the external monitor (VGA1) using xrandr. Is it possible to configure my Xorg (or whatever) so that it uses the VGA1 output if present?

  • Connecting to a DLNA server in Vista's Media Centre

    I've got a Windows 7 machine with a DLNA server set up. I can stream from it to my mobile and a number of other devices with no issues. All clients are auto-authorised so no permissions issues either. I have a Vista laptop on the network which I'd like to use to play back some of the videos. I can see the media server in the network view, if I double-click it, I can see the server in Windows Media Player. I can't find any way to add a DLNA source to Windows Media Centre, though. Where's the setting hidden?

  • Setting up Mac VPN on simple network with separate IPs

    Hi there, We have a pretty simple network configuration. A typical ASDL line with two extra IP addresses. We have a basic home network router Dlink DIR-655. We have two Mac OS X Snow Leopard Servers that we want to setup VPN on. The problem is that we can't change the ports which VPN works under ie. we can only setup port forwarding for UDP 500,1701,4500 to a single server. I'm wondering how we can cost effectively re-work our network so that we can take advantage of the separate IP addresses and have both VPNs working with the same router. Is that possible with our current hardware setup or do we need something more powerful? We're also toying with Mobile Access and wondering if that might be easier to setup. Expert help is greatly appreciated.

  • How do I stop cropping in iMovie?

    I'm not certain if 'crop' is the right term. I'm new to iMovie so I may have some of the terminology wrong. When I import a movie, I allow it to resize to the recommended settings instead of full size. Then I drag it from the lower event pane into the project pane. In the 'preview' pane where the movie can be played, the top and bottom of the movie are cut off a little. It's like its converting it to widescreen by cutting off the top and bottom. After I publish the movie in mobile format (it won't allow any larger) it still has the top and bottom removed. How can I stop this? I even tried importing full (original) size and it still didn't help.
