  This might seem like a stupid easy question to some of you, but i'm new to jquery and can't get my datepicker to work like it should. This is my textbox where the datepicker is attached to: <asp:TextBox runat="server" ID="StartMonth" AutoPostBack="true" class="month-picker" /> and here is how i attach the datepicker. (I have multiple TextBoxes where the datepicker should be attached to, so i used the class attribute instead of the id.) $(".month-picker").datepicker({ dateFormat: 'MM yy', changeYear: true, yearRange: '-9:+9' }); What i want to archive is when i click into the textbox where the text is "August 2012" it should set the pre-selected date of the datepicker to this date. • How are binding specified for Interface Builder plugins?

  I'm creating an Interface Builder plugin for an NSView subclass. I've been following the Interface Builder Plug-in Programming Guide but it's not answer all my questions. My class has one NSString property and 4 NSColor properties which I want to create bindings for at design time. I can't figure out where the bindings are specified in the plugin project. The documentation states that the Inspector Object is only for creating the Attribute Inspector. The class description file (.classdescription) lists outlets and actions but not bindings. Where do I specify the bindings for my class?

• jquery button click not firing asp.net button

  I've got a .net button that has an href attribute value set to 'javascript:WebForm_DoPostBackWithOptions(new WebForm_PostBackOptions("ctl00$cp1$ucInvoiceSearch$btnSearch", "", true, "", "", false, true))'. I've got a textbox that when I press enter I want it to fire this event. Doing the 'Enter' event isn't an issue but I can't get the event on the href to fire using .click(). Here's my function so far: $("[id*='tbInvNo']").keyup(function(event){ var $btn = $(".pnl-invoice-search"); if(event.keyCode == 13) $btn.click(); }); I've got no idea how to get this to fire. Hope someone can help - jQuery and asp.net are driving me up the wall today! :(

• ideas for algorithm? sorting a list randomly with emphasis on variety

  I have a table of items with [ID,ATTR1,ATTR2,ATTR3]. I'd like to select about half of the items, but try to get a random result set that is NOT clustered. In other words, there's a fairly even spread of ATTR1 values, ATTR2 values, and ATTR3 values. This does NOT necessarily represent the data as a whole, in other words, the total table may be generally concentrated on certain attribute values, but I'd like to select a subset with more variety. The attributes are not inter-related, so there's not really a correlation between ATTR1 and ATTR2. Any ideas for an efficient algorithm? Thanks! I don't really even know how to search for this :)

• Is it possible to share a masterpage between MVC and webforms?

  I am adding MVC to a project that has MANY legacy webform pages. This works fine. However, I currently have a separate masterpage for MVC and for the webforms. The two master pages produce essentially identical output. I'd really like to kill the webforms one and just use the MVC master page with all my pages and stay DRY. Not being DRY has already bitten me a couple times when I forgot to change both. I tried doing the obvious way and just pointing the webform content page's MasterPage attribute at the MVC masterpage. This throws an error saying the MVC masters only work with MVC views. This seems like it would be a pretty common problem with mixed MVC and webform projects. My MVC master isn't doing anything with ViewData, so I don't see any reason the webforms couldn't use them.

• GCC destructor behaviour

  I've noticed a difference in behaviour for gcc's destructor when compiled under linux and crosscompiled with mingw. On linux the destructor will not get called unless the program terminates normally by itself (returns from main). I guess that kind of makes sense if you take signal handlers into account. On Win32 however, the destructor is called if the program is terminated by say a CTRL-C, but not when killed from the Task Manager. Why is this? And what would you suggest to make the destructor get called no matter how the process terminates - on Win32 in particular? • Html5 Audio plays only once in my Javascript code.

  I have a dashboard web-app that I want to play an alert sound if its having problems connecting. The site's ajax code will poll for data and throttle down its refresh rate if it can't connect. Once the server comes back up, the site will continue working. In the mean time I would like a sound to play each time it can't connect (so I know to check the server). Here is that code. This code works. var error_audio = new Audio("audio/"+settings.refresh.error_audio); error_audio.load(); //this gets called when there is a connection error. function onConnectionError() { error_audio.play(); } However the 2nd time through the function the audio doesn't play. Digging around in Chrome's debugger the 'played' attribute in the audio element gets set to true. Setting it to false has no results. Any ideas?

• NHibernate - is property lazy loading possible?

  I've got some binary data that I store and was going to separate this out into a separate table so it could be lazy loaded. However, i then came across this post by Ayende (http://ayende.com/Blog/archive/2010/01/27/nhibernate-new-feature-lazy-properties.aspx) which suggests that property lazy loading is now possible. I have added the lazy="true" attribute to my property mapping but the field is still loaded from the database (I am using a simple text field to test). My query: return _session.CreateQuery("from Product") .SetMaxResults(1) .UniqueResult<Product>(); Mapping: <property name="Description" type="string" column="FullDescription" lazy="true"/> Has anyone been able to get this working? Personally I prefer this approach than having to add another table to my database.

• What's the big difference between those two binary files?

  These are two files (contained in the tar.bz2) that were generated using a just-in-time compiler for a game engine. The generated code from ui-linux.bin is from a x86_64 gcc compiler and the ui-windows.bin from the same brand of compiler but targetting win x86_64 (mingw-w64). I've attempted to debug a problem that occurs only on the windows version and i stumbled upon what it seems to be different end-binary code. However, the input assembly code was virtually identical (only difference being pointer representations as int). (there's theoretically no winabi/unixabi conflict since that's taken care of by an attribute flag on certain declarations involved). Any idea what it might be that makes these two binary codes different? The C for the mini-compiler and base assembly producing it appears compatible at first glance. http://www0.org/vm/bins.tar.bz2

• django search and filter in Google App Engine

  Hi, I'm trying to add filter and search to my site. It's exactly the same code as in another working django project. The difference is that this time I do it with app engine. my views: http://slexy.org/view/s21GMw2sh1 I have 2 problems: 1.) I get error: "'Query' object has no attribute 'all'" on line 59 in views. As I understand it's something to do with the fact that GAE queryset is different from django queryset. How can I fix that? 2.) If I have 'search' in my request.GET I also fall on line 54 in my views. This is because I can't search by Q object in GAE, I guess. How can I fix that? Thanks, Alex A.

• Parsing boolean from configuration section in web.config

  I have a custom configuration section in my web.config. One of my classes is grabbing from this: <myConfigSection LabelVisible="" TitleVisible="true"/> I have things working for parsing if I have true or false, however if the attribute is blank I am getting errors. When the config section tries to map the class to the configuration section I get an error of "not a valid value for bool" on the 'LabelVisible' part. How can I parse "" as false in my myConfigSection class? I have tried this: [ConfigurationProperty("labelsVisible", DefaultValue = true, IsRequired = false)] public bool? LabelsVisible { get { return (bool?)this["labelsVisible"]; } But when I try and use what is returned like so: graph.Label.Visible = myConfigSection.LabelsVisible; I get an error of: 'Cannot implicitly convert type 'bool?' to 'bool'. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?) Thanks for any suggestions!

  I have a USER that creates a COMPANY and become an EMPLOYEE in the process. The employees table has an :user_id and a :company_id. class User has_many :employees has_many :companies, :through => :employees class Employee belongs_to :user belongs_to :company attr_accessible :active class Company has_many :employees has_many :users, :through => employees Pretty basic. But here's the thing, the resource EMPLOYEE has other attributes than its foreign keys, like the boolean :active. I would like to use attr_accessible, but this causes some problems. The attribute :user_id is set right, but :company_id is nil. @user.companies << Company.new(...) Employee id:1 user_id:1 company_id:nil So my question is: if :user_id is set right, despite it is not an attr_accessible, why :company_id isn't set right just the same? It shouldn't be an attr_accessible. I'm using Rails 3.0.8, and have also tested with 3.0.7.

If I empty the parentheses after $this.datepicker it works fine. I have also tried another way to assign settings. ("option",...) no dice.

• jQuery Cluetip not activated until after hover or click event

  I'm not sure what is causing this, but I am using cluetip and binding it to a live event (either click or mouseenter), but in each situation the cluetip isn't firing until after one click or hover event. I am using the live event for ajax loaded content, but I'm also having this issue with non-Ajax loaded content. I'm not sure why this is happening - can anyone see where I might be going wrong? • IE won't start session from an iframe?..

  The task was to bypass login form on remote server with a session_id acquired through a call to server's web API. So that user wouldn't have to login twice. Since there's no way to set cookies for different domain. What we came up to was - put a little file on remote server, to which we pass encrypted session_id from hidden iframe and which is supposed to start a proper session for a remote app, which is then loaded in another iframe. This approach works fine in FF/Chrome, but not IE... However if I copy url to self-made remote authorization script from iframe's src attribute to to IE's address bar and load it from there, session get's created as expected. But for some reason it just doesn't want to do the same from an iframe. Does anyone have any clue, why this is happening?

• Shutting down a WPF application from App.xaml.cs

  I am currently writing a WPF application which does command-line argument handling in App.xaml.cs (which is necessary because the Startup event seems to be the recommended way of getting at those arguments). Based on the arguments I want to exit the program at that point already which, as far as I know, should be done in WPF with Application.Current.Shutdown() or in this case (as I am in the current application object) probably also just this.Shutdown(). The only problem is that this doesn't seem to work right. I've stepped through with the debugger and code after the Shutdown() line still gets executed which leads to errors afterwards in the method, since I expected the application not to live that long. Also the main window (declared in the StartupUri attribute in XAML) still gets loaded. I've checked the documentation of that method and found nothing in the remarks that tell me that I shouldn't use it during Application.Startup or Application at all. So, what is the right way to exit the program at that point, i. e. the Startup event handler in an Application object?

  Hi guy, I need to integrate struts with spring for a project. I read the doc to ingrate struts and it's ok for classic beans but I have a problem for my forms. I have a form like this in my struts-config.xml: <form-beans> <form-bean name="creationForm" type="org.apache.struts.validator.DynaValidatorActionForm" > <form-property name="libelle" type="java.lang.String" /> <form-property name="quantite" type="java.lang.String" /> <form-property name="prix" type="java.lang.String" initial="10" /> </form-bean> But it's strange for me to have a "type" in struts-config because it's spring which manages beans. I don't found anything in the doc to manage forms by spring and the attribute "type" is mandatory for form in struts-config. Someone can help me please ?

• Customer session is different in different parts of a Magento website

  I have a function inside of a Helper in Magento that returns whether or not a customer attribute equals one. Here is my Helper class class Nie_Nie_Helper_Data extends Mage_Core_Helper_Abstract { public function isNieAdmin() { if(Mage::getSingleton('customer/session')->getCustomer()->getNieAdmin() == 1) { return true; } else { return false; } } } Now when I call this function from a class that extends Mage_Core_Block_Template, everything seems to work fine. However when I try to use this inside one of my controllers, it does not work. In fact when I do Mage::getSingleton('customer/session')-getCustomer()-debug() the only variable that is returned is the website_id. Does anyone know what I have to do in order to get this to work?   Hello, I've been playing around with Active Record a bit, and I have noticed that A.C./ORM always uses the following database model when creating a one-to-one relationship Person id | country_id | name | ... Country id | tld | name | ... No I wondered, isn't this a violiation of the third Normal Form? This clearly states "Every non-prime attribute is non-transitively dependent on every key of the table". Well this country_id isn't dependent of personid is it? So is this wrong or am I just not getting the point?

  I'm having a hard time binding a simple static string property to a text box.
