• How to make Jtable column contain checkboxes?

  Preface: I am horrible with java, and worse with java ui components. I have found several different tutorials on how to add buttons to tables, however I am struggling with adding checkboxes. I need to have a column that draws a text box ticked on default (cell renderer i think handles that), then on click of tickbox, unticks the box, redraws said box, and fires off an event somewhere I can track. currently I have a custom cellrenderer: public class GraphButtonCellRenderer extends JCheckBox implements TableCellRenderer { public GraphButtonCellRenderer() { } public Component getTableCellRendererComponent(JTable table, Object value, boolean isSelected, boolean hasFocus, int row, int column) { if(isSelected) setSelected(true); else setSelected(false); setMargin(new Insets(0, 16, 0, 0)); setIconTextGap(0); setBackground(new Color(255,255,255,0)); return this; }} Which currently handles drawing the tick box, but only ticks and unticks the box if that row is selected. But I don't know how to handle the events. Really what I am asking is possibly a link to a good tutorial on how to add checkboxes cleanly to a JTable. Any assist is greatly appreciated :)

• When is onBind or onCreate called in an android service browser plugin?

  I have adapted the example plugin of the android source and the browser recognises the plugin without any problem. But I get lot's of debug trace of the actual libnpplugin.so file I'm using. So the puzzle is when and under what circumstance is the Service bound or created in case of a browser plugin. As things look the service seems to be a dummy service. Having said that, is there another intent that can be executed at installation time probably? The only solution I see right now is installing the needed files from the native plugin code instead. Any ideas? I know this is quite a tricky question ;)

• Action Filter Dependency Injection in ASP.NET MVC 3 RC2 with StructureMap

  Hi, I've been playing with the DI support in ASP.NET MVC RC2. I have implemented session per request for NHibernate and need to inject ISession into my "Unit of work" action filter. If I reference the StructureMap container directly (ObjectFactory.GetInstance) or use DependencyResolver to get my session instance, everything works fine: ISession Session { get { return DependencyResolver.Current.GetService<ISession>(); } } However if I attempt to use my StructureMap filter provider (inherits FilterAttributeFilterProvider) I have problems with committing the NHibernate transaction at the end of the request. It is as if ISession objects are being shared between requests. I am seeing this frequently as all my images are loaded via an MVC controller so I get 20 or so NHibernate sessions created on a normal page load. I added the following to my action filter: ISession Session { get { return DependencyResolver.Current.GetService<ISession>(); } } public ISession SessionTest { get; set; } public override void OnResultExecuted(System.Web.Mvc.ResultExecutedContext filterContext) { bool sessionsMatch = (this.Session == this.SessionTest); SessionTest is injected using the StructureMap Filter provider. I found that on a page with 20 images, "sessionsMatch" was false for 2-3 of the requests. My StructureMap configuration for session management is as follows: For<ISessionFactory>().Singleton().Use(new NHibernateSessionFactory().GetSessionFactory()); For<ISession>().HttpContextScoped().Use(ctx => ctx.GetInstance<ISessionFactory>().OpenSession()); In global.asax I call the following at the end of each request: public Global() { EndRequest += (sender, e) => { ObjectFactory.ReleaseAndDisposeAllHttpScopedObjects(); }; } Is this configuration thread safe? Previously I was injecting dependencies into the same filter using a custom IActionInvoker. • ASP.NET MVC 2 VB, Not recognising my import.

  I had a problem with a project I converted from C# to VB, in that the VB version it cannot seem to find an object even though I declared it with an Import statement at the top. I created a new, default MVC 2 VB project, and the same problem occurs there. I create a new MVC 2 application, I then add a reference to System.Data.Services.Client, and in my Index.aspx, in the Content area, I type <% Dim x As DataServiceQueryContinuation %> which is what I want to use. It gives me a blue squiggly line and says Type 'DataServiceQueryContinuation' is not defined. At the top of the page, I add this: <%@ Import Namespace="System.Data.Services.Client" %> The error persists. My original C# version has no such error. I also get this warning: Warning 2 Namespace or type specified in the Imports 'System.Data.Services.Client' doesn't contain any public member or cannot be found. Make sure the namespace or the type is defined and contains at least one public member. Make sure the imported element name doesn't use any aliases. e:\ASPNETDEBUG\MvcApplication1\MvcApplication1\Views\Home\Index.aspx 10 9 MvcApplication1 Examining the DLL using the tool provided shows that it does have a public member. Also when typing the above, System.Data. provides intellisense but there is no 'Services'. Any ideas?

• How to refactor these generic methods?

  I have written two nearly identical generic extension methods and am trying to figure out how I might refactor them into a single method. They differ only in that one operates on List and the other on List, and the properties I'm interested in are AssetID for AssetDocument and PersonID for PersonDocument. Although AssetDocument and PersonDocument have the same base class the properties are defined in each class so I don't think that helps. I have tried public static string ToCSVList<T>(this T list) where T : List<PersonDocument>, List<AssetDocument> thinking I might then be able to test the type and act accordingly but this results in the syntax error Type parameter 'T' inherits conflicting constraints These are the methods that I would like to refactor into a single method but perhaps I am simply going overboard and they would besat be left as they are. • Python Post Upload JPEG to Server?

  It seems like this answer has been provided a bunch of times but in all of it, I'm still getting errors from the server and I'm sure it has to do with my code. I've tried HTTP, and HTTPConnection from httplib and both create quite different terminal outputs in terms of formatting/encoding so I'm not sure where the problem lies. Does anything stand out here? Or is there just a better way? Or perhaps there's other methodologies for doing this more efficiently. I've not tried poster yet because I want to make sure I'm formatting the POST correctly first. I figure I can upgrade to poster after it's working yes?

• How do I unit test controllers for an asp.net mvc site that uses StructureMap and NHibernate?

  I have an asp.net mvc2 application that is using StructureMap 2.6 and NHibernate 3.x. I would like to add unit tests to the application but am sort of at a loss for how to accomplish it. Say I have a basic controller called Posts that has an action called Index. The controller looks something like: public class PostsController : Controller { private readonly IPostService _postService; public PostsController(IPostService postService) { _postService = postService; } public ActionResult Index() { return View(_postService.QueryOver<Post>().Future()); } } If I wanted to create an nunit test that would verify that the index action is returning all of the posts, how do I go about that? If mocking is recommended, do you just assume that interaction with the database will work? Sorry for asking such a broad question, but my web searches haven't turned up anything decent for how to unit test asp.net mvc actions that use StructureMap (or any other IOC) and NHibernate. btw, if you don't like that I return a QueryOver object from my post service, pretend it is an IQueryable object. I'm using it essentially in the same way.

  I'm having a hard time trying to get my stored procedure works with NHibernate. The data returned from the SP does not correspond to any database table. And later on in CheckNamedQueries function, it is not able to find the persistor for SomeClass. I've checked all the obvious things (e.g. make hbm as an embedded resource) and my code isn't too much different from other samples I found on the web, but somehow I just can't get it working. Any idea how I can resolve this issue?

• Accessing previous activity instances in a sequence activity

  This has a rather SharePoint spin to it but the problem is straight workflow. I've got a parallel replication activity which contains a sequence activity. The sequence activity contains a CreateTask activity, a CodeActivity, a OnTaskChanged activity and finally a CompleteTask activity. The idea is to create a task for each username passed into the ReplicatorActivity.InitialChildData property. Typically in workflow I bind a field to the CreateTask.TaskId and CreateTask.TaskProperties and inside the CreateTask.MethodInvoking I set these through the local bound fields. This works and my tasks all get created properly. However in the CodeActivity that follows, I want to then access the TaskProperties. The problem I am encountering is that this field holds the values of the final task to be created as the CreateTask runs for all the replications before the CodeActivity gets to runs. From the CodeActivity, here are two ways I've tried to access the CreateTask activity instance from the same context or instance or whatever the terminology is for the replicated sequence. CreateTask task = ((CreateTask)sender.Parent.GetActivityByName("createSoftwareRequestTask", true)); CreateTask createTask = (CreateTask)sender.Parent.Activities[0]; Unfortunately the CreateTask activities both refer back to the last task to be created and not the task from the context that the CodeActivity is executing within. Two reasons why this might be that I can think of. I'm not accessing the correct instance with my code. I am accessing the correct instance, but as the properties I require were bound to and set through local fields then their previous data was overwritten. I'm hitting a brick wall with my understanding of workflow with this and would very much appreciate some assistance here.

I have typed-dataset called packetsDBDataSet and it has table adapter called packetsTableAdapter with method to insert data called InsertPackets(). when I want to insert new data I used a code that I used before with asp.net page and it was working ok but not I'm getting error. here is the code: public packetsDBDataSetTableAdapters.packetsTableAdapter ds = new packetsDBDataSetTableAdapters.packetsTableAdapter(); public packetsDBDataSet.packetsDataTable insert = ds.InsertPackets(); and here is the error: Error 1 A field initializer cannot reference the non-static field, method, or property 'Packets.Form1.ds' C:\Users\Ali\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\Packets-3\Packets\Packets\Form1.cs 26 59 Packets I already included to my project: using Packets; using Packets.packetsDBDataSetTableAdapters; please advice to solve this problem. • Button Visibility Converter

  Hi All, I have a requirement wherein I need to display on a User form, a Create Button if that user has doesnt have a profile and a Edit Button if he does have a profile. I am using a converter to change the visibility of the button. My guess is that, it is because the constructor would have create the profile object and so even though the object is empty it shows me edit button instead of create. Is there any other way I could display button visibility??

  I am trying to debug a HTTP Handler in Visual Studio and the break point is not getting hit. Does anyone have an idea on how to go about debugging HTTP Handlers in Visual Studio? I am using VS 2010 Premium, .NET 4.0 on a Windows 7 machine. In my Web Application I have a HTTP Handler in /HTTPHandler/TrackingHandler.cs The following is in my web config file: <system.webServer> <handlers> <add name="TrackingHandler" path="/tx/*" verb="*" type="ProjectNamespace.TrackingHandler" resourceType="Unspecified" preCondition="integratedMode" /> </handlers> </system.webServer> My HTTP Handler looks like below namespace ProjectNamespace { public class TrackingHandler : IHttpHandler { public bool IsReusable { get { return true; } } public void ProcessRequest(HttpContext context) { //Breakpoint on the very first line below string tracker = Path.GetFileName(context.Request.PhysicalPath); ....... } } } I start my Web Application using any random page in Visual Studio Debug using the builtin Web Server. I then maually edit the URL to point to the /tx/ directory and some random string after it. For e.g. my current URL looks like http://localhost:53699/tx/sdfs. I thought this should pull up the breakpoint on the first line of ProcessRequest() but it does not. I’d be grateful for any ideas. O. O.

  I have a ready generated MHTML as a byte array (from Aspose.Words) and would like to send it as an email. I'm trying to do this through CDOSYS, though am open to other suggestions. Where it says "NEED MAGIC HERE" in the code above I want to use this byte[] to set the body of the CDO Message. I have tried the following, which unsurprisingly doesn't work: oMsg.HTMLBody = System.Text.Encoding.ASCII.GetString(warning.Body); Anybody have any ideas how I can achieve what I want with CDOSYS or something else?

• Calculate an Internet (aka IP, aka RFC791) checksum in C#

  Interestingly, I can find implementations for the Internet Checksum in almost every language except C#. Does anyone have an implementation to share? Remember, the internet protocol specifies that: "The checksum field is the 16 bit one's complement of the one's complement sum of all 16 bit words in the header. For purposes of computing the checksum, the value of the checksum field is zero." More explanation can be found from Dr. Math. There are some efficiency pointers available, but that's not really a large concern for me at this point. Please include your tests! (Edit: Valid comment regarding testing someone else's code - but I am going off of the protocol and don't have test vectors of my own and would rather unit test it than put into production to see if it matches what is currently being used! ;-) Edit: Here are some unit tests that I came up with. They test an extension method which iterates through the entire byte collection. Please comment if you find fault in the tests.   Hello. Looking for the best practice here... Have a form that consists of a calendar. Each day of the calendar has 2 text input fields - customer and check-in. • Can't get recursive function to work in Java

  I read docs about java recorsion and I thought I have understood it, but when I try to use it in the following example, it does not work as expected. I a class account, which has amount and can have forther subAccount. I would have implemented one method getSum, which has to return the summ of the amount of the account and amount of all of its subaccount. • Disassembler that tracks what value is where

  So lately I've been looking at the disassembly of my C++ code, and having to manually track what's in each register, like this: 95: 48 8b 16 mov (%rsi),%rdx ; %rdx = raggedCross.sink 98: 48 8b 42 38 mov 0x38(%rdx),%rax ; %rax = sink.table 9c: 8b 4a 10 mov 0x10(%rdx),%ecx ; %ecx = sink.baseCol 9f: 48 8b 70 50 mov 0x50(%rax),%rsi ; %rsi = table.starts a3: 89 c8 mov %ecx,%eax ; %eax = baseCol a5: 83 c1 1c add $0x1c,%ecx ; %ecx = baseCol + 1 And so on. The comments are mine, added by hand, from looking up the offset of various fields (e.g. sink, table, baseCol, starts) in the C++ classes. It's straight forward to do, but tedius and time consuming: the perfect thing for a program to be doing. gdb seems to know the offset of various fields within a struct: I can do &((Table *)0x1200)-starts and it tells the the right address. So, this information is around. Is there some disassembler that can use this info to annotate the code for me? Failing that, I could write my own. Where does gdb get the offsets?
