    Grails, by default, is case-sensitive when mapping URL to controller actions or views. For instance, www.mywebsite.com/book/list will work BUT www.mywebsite.com/Book/list will return a 404 page. What can I do (code snippets are welcomed) to make my URL case-insensitive (i.e. www.mywebsite.com/Book/list being a valid url) ?

    Can there be a setting on Oracle 10g to consider data as case insensitive? I saw a solution here. However, that is done on a session. What I am looking for is a setting either on a schema or on a table to consider it's data as case insensitive. If it is on a session then I will have to make the change on all the stored procedures.

    Hello I'm trying to do a request that looks like this SELECT field1, field2, field3 = CASE WHEN field2 = 'something' THEN 'something' WHEN field1 IS NOT NULL and field2 IS NULL THEN 'somethingElse' ELSE NULL END FROM SomeTable WHERE field3 IS NOT NULL This results in a syntax error. I have to rewrite the CASE in the WHERE instead of just refering to it. Is there a better way to achieve this ? And out of curiosity, why is "WHERE field3 IS NOT NULL" refused while for example "ORDER BY field3" would pass ?

How do I convert the logic of the IF…ELSE to T-SQL. Please help.” I have previously received this answer few times. As data grows the performance problems grows more as well. Here is the how you can convert the logic of IF…ELSE in to CASE statement of SQL Server. Here are few of the examples: Example 1: If you are logic is as following: IF -1 < 1 THEN ‘TRUE’ ELSE ‘FALSE’ You can just use CASE statement as follows: -- SQL Server 2008 and earlier version solution SELECT CASE WHEN -1 < 1 THEN 'TRUE' ELSE 'FALSE' END AS Result GO -- SQL Server 2012 solution SELECT IIF ( -1 < 1, 'TRUE', 'FALSE' ) AS Result; GO If you are interested further about how IIF of SQL Server 2012 works read the blog post which I have written earlier this year . Well, in our example the condition which we have used is pretty simple but in the real world the logic can very complex. Let us see two different methods of how we an do CASE statement when we have logic based on the column of the table. Example 2: If you are logic is as following: IF BusinessEntityID < 10 THEN FirstName ELSE IF BusinessEntityID > 10 THEN PersonType FROM Person.Person p You can convert the same in the T-SQL as follows: SELECT CASE WHEN BusinessEntityID < 10 THEN FirstName WHEN BusinessEntityID > 10 THEN PersonType END AS Col, BusinessEntityID, Title, PersonType FROM Person.Person p However, if your logic is based on multiple column and conditions are complicated, you can follow the example 3.   • How to make computer interface with circuit

    I understand that I can build a circuit that will do whatever I like (ex: a simple circuit that will turn on a motor to open the blinds or something), and I can write a program that will automate my computer/mac however I like (ex: open this program at this time, or with this input and create a new file, ect). My question is, how can I interface the two? Is there an easy DIY or cheap commercial (or not cheap but functional) USB plug that will turn on/off from computer commands? I'm basically looking for some sort of on/off switch I can script/applescript. How would you even approach this problem, would I have to write my own driver some where along the way?

  • Remote Desktop, Host: 2008, Client: Windows 7, The remote computer requires Network Level Authentica

    Hi, today I accidently changed one option of Teminal Services, I checked "Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication". After that, I can't connect to my server any more. The error says: The remote computer requires Network Level Authentication, which your computer does not support. But my client pcs(both home and at office) are running Windows 7, as far as I know, it shoud support NLA; And in About dialog of Remote Desktop Connection there says "Supports Network Level Authentication". My server is running Windows Server 2008, placed in IDC center; I could connect to it before I change the settings. All other sevices(like IIS, SQL Server) are running normally. For clients, I tried two PCs running Windows 7, and two virtual windows XP machine running in Virtual PC and Virtual Box, all of them gives the same error message. Is there a way I can make things right without go to IDC which is far away? Thanks.

    I have a computer which had AVG Free installed from day one. After several months of operation, it starts detecting viruses and trojans all the time. Besides running a full scan, what should I do to clean the computer? Should I install another anti-virus or anti-malware tool (can it help?), or once viruses infect a system the only real solution is a clean format? (Lately I've heard of viruses that burn themselves in the BIOS, so a clean format might not always work ... how common is this technique? Should I burn a fresh BIOS as well?)

    I found this in the Event Viewer logs: The description for Event ID 11 from source RAMDiskVE cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. Which doesn't say much. The details don't reveal much more: Failed to read configuration information from registry. 0000000002002C00000000000B0007C0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 So my question is, what is RAMDiskVE and what device is it for? Basically I'm trying to rule out hardware but I have no idea what's failing...

  • Computer won't recognize second WD internal HD

    I installed a Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB internal hard drive, and want to use it for back up. My BIOS recognizes the device, but it is not recognized in Disk Management. It also is not recognized in "my computer." When I right-click my C drivepropertieshardware, I see it listed. First the drive was plugged into SATA port 1 on my motherboard, then I tried it in port 3, where it remains. I've been working on this for hours. Any help would be appreciated.   • Sudden restart now chrome kills computer

    My computer suddenly restart itself the other day and when it came back up so much as clicking on the icon for Google Chrome freezes everything. I uninstalled Chrome and tried reinstalling is but as soon as the download finished, the computer froze again. I tried installing an earlier version (about a week prior) and it froze differently but still froze. I am also getting notification that the battery needs to be replaced. At the moment I am running it sans battery and using firefox and everything seems to be fine. I have a HP dv4t running Windows 7.

  • Computer and internet use on a boat?

    Let's assume that I seriously would like to be able to use my computer as easily and as carefreely while on a boat as I do while at home. In short, if I were on a boat for extended periods, such as two weeks at a time and occasionally over a few days out of port (this would be a 2 person sailing vessel), what would my options be for power, durability, and of course, internet access? I want more than just email, as I will likely keep doing a tad of development, and will be looking at google earth from time to time. I am already assuming that we're going with some kind of laptop, maybe even a macbook pro 12". I personally feel that netbooks are underpowered. And the last computer that I got a boat-friendly rating for was a ZX Spectrum, which was before the internet, and was likely due to it's 12vdc-happiness.

  • Computer is totally crashed

    my computer kept restarting on its own at random times varying from 1 minutes, to 20 minutes(then goind in a constant restart loop every ~10 seconds). I had to turn it off and wait minutes or hours before attempting to restarting to go further in the boot process. Now, it just does not turn on. I posted this before: Computer crashes every 2 to 10 minutes but I did not have the time to check the temperature. I don't want to pay to get it checked up, but I want to know what is wrong. Is the processor fried? Thank you

  • Using using a DVI instead of a VGA increase computer screen monitor resolution

    This is for a computer screen. Both my video card and computer screen have DVI ports on them but I'm using a VGA. I'm wondering if there would be a difference if i switch from VGA to DVI. My current resolution is 1920x1080 with the VGA cord. will my resolution increase if i switch to a DVI? Are there any advantage of switching from VGA to DVI? If there will be a difference if i switch, I've read there are 5 different type of DVI cables. how do I know which one to buy?
