  • use javascript to check jQuery availibility on the target web Browser

    - by Hazro City
Can I use JavaScript to check whether JQuery is (already) downloaded on the target web browser (user) or not? For Example: If (JQuery-from-Microsoft-CDN-downloaded) Then use http://ajax.aspnetcdn.com/ajax/jQuery/jquery-1.4.4.js Else if (JQuery-from-Google-APIs- downloaded) Then use http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.2/jquery.min.js Else if (JQuery-from-code.jquery.com- downloaded) Then use http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.4.min.js Else use jQuery from my own website. Means that using the ability of javascript to check whether one of them is downloaded on the target User (Web Browser), if not then use jQuery from my own website otherwise if true then use that version of JQuery that is downloaded on the target User.

  • Problem with giving focus to first element inside a container

    - by rahul
Hi, I am just trying to cycle the focus between elements inside a particular element when the tab key is pressed. What I want to do is not to set focus to any element which is not a descendant of an element when tab is pressed from the last control inside the element. At that time the focus must be set to the first input element inside the container. I have done a sample and it its not working, and I am unable to figure out the issue. Sample can be found here The complete code is Script $(function(){ $(":input:last","#div1").bind("keydown", function(e){ if ( e.keyCode === 9 ) { var firstElem = $(":input:first","#div1"); firstElem.focus(); } }); }); CSS input.red { width: 200px; border: solid 1px red; } input { width: 200px; } HTML <input type="text" class="red" /> <div id="div1"> <input type="text" id="txt1" /> <select id="sel1"> <option>1</option> </select> <input type="text" id="txt2" /> </div> Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  • Checking data of all same class elements

    - by Tiffani
I need the code to check the data-name value of all instances of .account-select. Right now it just checks the first .account-select element and not any subsequent ones. The function right now is on click of an element such as John Smith, it checks the data-name of the .account-select lis. If the data-names are the same, it does not create a new li with the John Smith data. If no data-names are equal to John Smith, then it adds an li with John Smith. This is the JS-Fiddle I made for it so you can see what I am referring to: http://jsfiddle.net/rsxavior/vDCNy/22/ Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is the Jquery Code I am using right now. $('.account').click(function () { var acc = $(this).data("name"); var sel = $('.account-select').data("name"); if (acc === sel) { } else { $('.account-hidden-li').append('<li class="account-select" data-name="'+ $(this).data("name") +'">' + $(this).data("name") + '<a class="close bcn-close" data-dismiss="alert" href="#">&times;</a></li>'); } }); And the HTML: <ul> <li><a class="account" data-name="All" href="#">All</a></li> <li><a class="account" data-name="John Smith" href="#">John Smith</a></li> </ul> <ul class="account-hidden-li"> <ul>

  • Add share button in magiczoomplus

    - by duyen hoang
I am creating a WordPress site using Artisteer and various plugins to show off some photo galleries. I have also purchased a e-commerce WordPress theme that I have included as a subdirectory. In this theme they have a share button that I like the functionality of. I want to replicate the button in the front section of the site within the gallery pages. See the attached links to see what I am talking about. http://rrestricted.com/eshop/20mens/jay-chillin http://rrestricted.com/gallery/jay-3 The first link has the share button (loveheart icon) and the second the gallery that I want to add the button to. If you click on the images in the gallery you will see a large lightbox come up. I want to add the Share button just above the navigation buttons. This is my require from a customer. I was searched magiczoomplus.js, but I can't add it.

  • Java applet for Tower of Hanoi

    - by Naren
I am planning to write a Java applet for Tower of Hanoi similar to link( http://www.mazeworks.com/hanoi/index.htm ) Can you suggest how should I start and proceed. And, btw, does it require multi threading? And also, major part of my doubt is to make a disc being clickable and being able to drag and drop the disc on a tower. detect a tower (if a disc is being dragged using mouse)

  • Checking if iframe is ready to be written to

    - by Bilal Aslam
A 3rd party script on my web page creates an iframe. I need to know when this iframe is ready, so I can manipulate its DOM. I can think of a hacky approach: repeatedly try to modify the iFrame's DOM, and return success when a change we make sticks between two attempts. For this to work, I would prefer a property I can check on the iframe repeatedly. Is there an alternative, cross-browser evented approach to knowing that the iframe is ready? E.g. can we redefine the onLoad function to call into our code (but I don't know if I can do this, since I didn't create the iframe).

  • MooTools Classes and JsDoc

    - by Joel Alejandro
    I have the following Moo class: Nem.Ui.Window = new Class({ Implements: [Options, Events], options: { caption: "Ventana", icon: $empty, centered: true, id: $empty, width: $empty, height: $empty, modal: false, desktop: $empty, x: $empty, y: $empty, layout: $empty }, initialize: function(options) { this.setOptions(options); /* ... */ }, setHtmlContents: function(content) { /* ... */ }, setText: function(text) { /* ... */ }, close: function(win) { /* ... */ }, /* ... */ }); I want to document it with JsDoc. I read you can use @lends [class].prototype inside new Class and mark initialize with the @constructs tag. How can I mark methods and events such? I.E.: setHtmlContents should be a method, close should be an event. Also, can the elements under options be documented, somehow?

  • SQL Server: collect values in an aggregation temporarily and reuse in the same query

    - by Erwin Brandstetter
How do I accumulate values in t-SQL? AFAIK there is no ARRAY type. I want to reuse the values like demonstrated in this PostgreSQL example using array_agg(). SELECT a[1] || a[i] AS foo ,a[2] || a[5] AS bar -- assuming we have >= 5 rows for simplicity FROM ( SELECT array_agg(text_col ORDER BY text_col) AS a ,count(*)::int4 AS i FROM tbl WHERE id between 10 AND 100 ) x How would I best solve this with t-SQL? Best I could come up with are two CTE and subselects: ;WITH x AS ( SELECT row_number() OVER (ORDER BY name) AS rn ,name AS a FROM #t WHERE id between 10 AND 100 ), i AS ( SELECT count(*) AS i FROM x ) SELECT (SELECT a FROM x WHERE rn = 1) + (SELECT a FROM x WHERE rn = i) AS foo ,(SELECT a FROM x WHERE rn = 2) + (SELECT a FROM x WHERE rn = 5) AS bar FROM i Test setup: CREATE TABLE #t( id INT PRIMARY KEY ,name NVARCHAR(100)) INSERT INTO #t VALUES (3 , 'John') ,(5 , 'Mary') ,(8 , 'Michael') ,(13, 'Steve') ,(21, 'Jack') ,(34, 'Pete') ,(57, 'Ami') ,(88, 'Bob') Is there a simpler way?

  • Separating arguments to a function, in locales with comma as decimal marker

    - by Chris Pousset
In locales, e.g. French, with comma as decimal indicator (where "5,2" means five and two-tenths), how do users separate function arguments from each other? For example, in many programming/scripting languages, I could specify MAX(1.5, X) in a EN-US locale. How do you avoid the ambiguity between the comma as decimal indicator, and as argument separator? In particular, I'm interested in how software that's perceived as user-friendly in the foreign locale does it. Obviously, it's a no-brainer to say, "thou shalt use decimal POINTs", but that's not particularly "friendly".

  • How to get z-index to play nice with the jQuery plugin Cycle

    - by alex
Take a look at the bottom right example on the jQuery Cycle Advanced Demos page. Notice how when it loops the gallery, the next image goes beneath the last, as opposed to others where the next image always covers the previous one? Well, at least in Firefox 3.6.3. I'm developing a custom animation with jQuery cycle that has the same problem. When it loops, the next image goes under instead of over. This is my config object I pass to cycle(). { fx: 'custom', timeout: 5000, easing: 'easeInOutQuad', pause: 1, cssFirst: { zIndex: 0 }, cssBefore: { display: 'block', top: -500, opacity: 1, zIndex: 1 }, animIn: { top: 0, opacity: 1 }, animOut: { opacity: .2 }, cssAfter: { display: 'none', opacity: .2, zIndex: 0 }, delay: -1000 } Basically the animation is the same as the cover fx, except the previous image should fade away as the next one comes down on top. Is there any way to get the next slide when it loops to cover the previous one? Thanks

  • Load external pages using jquery

    - by user1688011
I'm trying to use jquery to load external pages into the current without reloading. Apparently everything works fine except of one little issue, I hope I'll be clear as much as possible. When I call the page 'info.php' it is loaded into the #content div. That's what the script supposed to do, the problem is that in the main page, which contains the script and the #content div, I already have some code that I want it to be executed when someone visit the page and not to be called from external page. That is actually the case but when I click on one of the links in the menu, I can't go back to the initial content.. <script> $(function() { $('#nav a').click(function() { var page = $(this).attr('href'); $('#content').load(page + '.php'); return false; }); }); </script> <ul id="nav"> <li><a href="#">Page1</a></li> <li><a href="about">About</a></li> <li><a href="contact">Contact</a></li> <li><a href="info">Info</a></li> </ul> <div id="content"> Here I have some code that I wanted to be attributed to the "Page1" </div> Do you have any suggestions how to fix this issue? Thanks

  • Conflict between two Javascripts (MailChimp validation etc. scripts & jQuery hSlides.js)

    - by Brian
I have two scripts running on the same page, one is the jQuery.hSlides.js script http://www.jesuscarrera.info/demos/hslides/ and the other is a custom script that is used for MailChimp list signup integration. The hSlides panel can be seen in effect here: http://theatricalbellydance.com. I've turned off the MailChimp script because it was conflicting with the hSlides script, causing it not to to fail completely (as seen here http://theatricalbellydance.com/home2/). Can someone tell me what could be done to the hSlides script to stop the conflict with the MailChimp script? • Linking buttion to jQuery through service

    - by Ruddy
I have a small problem that should be very easy to overcome. For some reason I cant work this out. So the problem is I cannot get a button to link to some jquery. My set-up is as follows (showing the relevant code): Default.aspx jQuery: function getContent() { var data = { numberID: 1 }; $.jsonAspNet("ContentService.asmx", "GetContent", data, function (result) { $('#content').html(result); }); } jQuery(document).ready(function () { getContent(); } HTML: <div id="content"></div> ContentService.vb Public Function GetContent(number As Integer) As String Dim sb = New StringBuilder sb.AppendLine("<table>") sb.AppendLine("<tr>") sb.AppendLine("<td class='ui-widget-header ui-corner-all'>Number</td>") sb.AppendLine("</tr>") sb.AppendLine("<tr>") sb.AppendLine("<td>" & number & "</td>") sb.AppendLine("<td><a href='#' id='test' class='fg-button ui-state-default ui-corner-all'><img src='" & Context.Request.ApplicationPath & "/images/spacer.gif' class='ui-icon ui-icon-pencil' /></a></td>") sb.AppendLine("</tr>") sb.AppendLine("</table>") Return sb.ToString End Function So that's the basics of what I have everything works but I'm not sure how to get the button (id='test') to get linked to some jQuery. I want it to be pressed and bring up a popup. I have tried to put the jQuery on default.aspx but this doesn't seem to work unless the button is place in the HTML on that page. $('#test').unbind('click').click(function () { alert('Working'); }); I'm sure this is easy to be able to do but I have been trying for a while and cannot seem to get it to work.

  • jquery: Why do opacity animations only work with FF?

    - by incrediman
I'm wondering why opacity animations only work with Firefox, and not with chrome or internet explorer. For example, jQuery("#a").fadeTo(1000,1); fades the element in with firefox, but just makes it appear with Chrome or IE. All I want is for the element to fade in. How can I get this to work with IE and chrome? Edit: Same thing if I use fadeIn() or any other similar function, like show()

Is there a way to make the XmlHttpRequest time out? Do I have to do something silly like using setTimeout() to wait a while then abort() if the connection isn't established? Edit: Found this, but in my testing, wrapping my xmlhttprequest.send() in a try/catch block or setting a value on xmlhttprequest.timeout (or TimeOut or timeOut) doesn't have any affect.

  • Help with animating an element in jQuery

    - by alex
I have an unordered list with a few list elements. #tags { width: 300px; height: 300px; position: relative; border: 1px solid red; list-style: none none; } #tags li { position: absolute; background: gray; } I have also started writing a jQuery plugin to animate the list elements. So far, I place the list elements randomly in the parent container, and choose a random font size for the text. My next step (which I am a bit stuck on) is to animate the list elements... essentially, I want the list elements to do something like this Slide from left to right whilst getting slightly larger up to the middle and then dropping in size back to normal when it hits the right border. Then, it should do the same in reverse, however it should also set a negative 'z-index' and maybe fade in opacity a bit. The first bit I'm really stuck on, is how to determine if the element is near the middle, in a way that I can have a value that starts at 0.1 on the far left hand size and is 1 in the middle and then back to 0.1 on the far right hand size. Basically, I want them to appear as if they are going around in a faux 3D circle into the page. Then I could do something like this $(this).css({ fontSize: percentageTowardsMiddle * 14, }); Do you know how I could do this? Thanks

  • Dynamically Resizing an Iframe

    - by regex
Hello All, I can see that this question has been asked several times, but none of the proposed solutions seem to work for the site I am building, so I am reopening the thread. I am attempting to size an iframe based on the height of it's content. Both the page that contains the iframe and it's source page exist on the same domain. I have tried the proposed solutions in each of the following threads: Resize iframe height according to content height in it Resizing an iframe based on content I believe that the solutions above are not working because of when the reference to body.clientHeight is made, the browser has not actually determined the height of the document. Here is the code I am using: var ifmBlue = document.getElementById("ifmBlue"); ifmBlue.onload = resizeIframe; function resizeIframe() { var ifmBlue = document.getElementById("ifmBluePill"); var ifmDiv = ifmBlue.contentDocument.getElementById("main"); var height = ifmDiv.clientHeight; ifmBlue.style.height = (ifmBlue.contentDocument.body.scrollHeight || ifmBlue.contentDocument.body.offsetHeight || ifmBlue.contentDocument.body.parentNode.clientHeight || height || 500) + 5 + 'px'; } If I debug the script using fire debug, the client height of the iframe.contentDocument's main div is 0. Additionally, body.offsetHieght, & body.scrollHeight are 0. However, after the script is finished running, if I inspect the DOM of the HTML iframe element (using fire debug) I can see that the body's clientHeight is 456 and the inner div's clientHeight is 742. This leads me to believe that these values are not yet set when iframe.onload is fired. So, per one of the threads above, I moved the code into the body.onload event handler of the iframe's source page. This solution also did not work. Any help you can provide is much appreciated. Thanks, CJ
