• Finding databases for use in applications

  Does anyone have some recommendations on how I can find databases for random things that I might want to use in my application. For example, a database of zip code locations, area code cities, car engines, IP address locations, or whatever. I'm just asking generally when you decide you need a bunch of data where are some good places to start looking other than google?

  I am currently investigating replacing the tabs provided by a Struts 1 tag library with the tabs provided by jQuery UI. I have successfully managed to get the tabs integrated with the existing application but I am struggling on how to set the selected tab using a parameter on the incoming URL i.e. myurl.com/action.do?selectedTab=SecondTab As a new comer to javascript and jQuery, I was wondering could give me some pointers on where to start? • Odd behaviour with scala method syntax

  Hi chaps, I hit a bit of a quirk of scala's syntax I don't really understand object Board { def getObjectAt(x:Int, y:Int):Placeable = return locations(x)(y) } works fine. But object Board { def getObjectAt(x:Int, y:Int):Placeable { return locations(x)(y) } } returns the error Board.scala:8: error: illegal start of declaration return locations(x)(y) I found some stuff that says the second form convinces the scala compiler you're trying to specify an expansion to the return type Placeable. Is there a way I can fix this, or should I just avoid specifying a return type here?

• cruise control turns off on me when i use the system process

  Cruise control service set to System - Allow user to interact with desktop for the service. I log out with my user id and cruise control turns off. Any idea what is going on here? If I start the service a console window comes up. As soon as I close it cruise control also turns off... I need it to always be on... any ideas?

  My table has a column of numbers which are sorted incorrectly. Example numbers: 5.8 2.4 10.7 0.1 1.9 and basically my problem is 10.7 should be at the very end/very start depending on which way it was sorted. but it is showing up in the middle.

When I'm running my program, I get the following error: ... nested exception is javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: ejb not bound The error occurs at the start up when Java wants to create a certain bean. The Bean is a SimpleRemoteStatelessSessionProxyFactoryBean. Could it be that I ain't got the rights to access the naming provider URL although I can ping it? When accessing the bean on my local JBoss there are no problems.

I realized I could have a reading thread which reads from the socket in the background and puts data in a queue and I could have another thread which writes data from a queue to the socket.
