  • Hibernate reverse engineering

    - by EugeneP
I have a structure where the main table is USER, other tables include CATEGORY (contains user_id). What I got after the standard reverse engineering procedure was: the class User contained a collection of categories, the class Category didn't contain the foreign key (user_id) but it did contain the User object. Why did it not contain the foreign key as a class property? And how do I join these two tables in HQL without that glue? HQL - please explain this part.

  • Problem with thread after SCREEN_OFF in Android

    - by michael
I’m doing an application that listens to the android.intent.action.SCREEN_OFF in a Service (if that matter) and then it is supposed to wait a few seconds and launch an action, I’ve tried a timer schedule method, thread and handler postDelay method but all of them seems to fail, they are never executed on a device, it seems like it’s being freezed/killed after phone is locked. It works on emulator and on device attached to USB, but never with device working on battery only, which actually is a main scenario. Do you know any solutions to this?

  • Prism: How to render one view on top of another

    - by Nate Noonen
We have a Prism/WPF application and are using an expander to animate a menu. When the expander expands, the content is rendered behind the main region's content. The menu is in a different region than the content it is supposed to overlay (since the menu governs what items go into that region) which is why this is occurring. We have tried setting the Z-Index of the ContentControls to no avail.

The main problem is this. Every time the page loads I get a pop-up "to help protect your security, IE has restricted this webpage from running scripts or ActiveX controls that could access your computer". Please can someone help prehaps with an example to enable this to work without this pop-up Thanks Richard

  • C/C++ Headers in NetBeans

    - by sterh
Hi to all, I installed IDE NetBeans for C/C++ development. I created C project with main.c and makefile generated netbeans. When i add test.h file in my project and try to compile it, i see that netbeans does not see this header file, and that I would not write it, even if there are errors anyway compilation is successful. How to connect a header file in netbeans? Thanks.

  • PHP Array Not Working in Function

    - by lemonpole
Hello all. I'm currently experimenting with arrays in PHP, and I created a fake environment where a team's information will be displayed. $t1 = array ( "basicInfo" => array ( "The Sineps", "December 25, 2010", "lemonpole" ), "overallRecord" => array (0, 0, 0, 0), "overallSeasons" => array ( 1 => array (14, 0, 0), 2 => array (9, 5, 2), 3 => array (12, 4, 0), 4 => array (3, 11, 2) ), "games" => array ( "<img src=\"images/cs.gif\" alt=\"Counter-Strike\" />", "<img src=\"images/cs.gif\" alt=\"Counter-Strike\" />", "<img src=\"images/cs.gif\" alt=\"Counter-Strike\" />", "<img src=\"images/cs.gif\" alt=\"Counter-Strike\" />" ), "seasonHistory" => array ( "Season I", "Season II", "Season III", "Season IV" ), "divisions" => array ( "Open", "Main", "Main", "Invite" ) ); // Displays the seasons the team has been in along // with the record of each season. function seasonHistory() { // Make array variable local-scope. global $t1; // Count the number of seasons. $numrows = count($t1["seasonHistory"]); // Loop through all the variables until // it reaches the last entry made and display // each item seperately. for($v = 0; $v <= $numrows; $v++) { // Echo each season. echo "<tr><td>{$t1["games"][$v]}</td>"; echo "<td>{$t1["seasonHistory"][$v]}</td>"; echo "<td>{$t1["divisions"][$v]}</td></tr>"; } } I have tested several possible problems out and after narrowing them down I have come down to one conclusion and that is my function is not connecting to the array for some reason. I don't know what else to do because I thought making the array global would fix that problem. What works: I can echo $t1["games"][0] on the page I need it to display and it gives me the content. I tried echo $t1["games"][0] INSIDE the function and then calling the function and it doesn't display anything.

  • pointer to preallocated memory as an input parameter and have the function fill it

    - by djones2010
test code: void modify_it(char * mystuff) { char test[7] = "123456"; //last element is null i presume for c style strings here. //static char test[] = "123123"; //when i do this i thought i should be able to gain access to this bit of memory when the function is destroyed but that does not seem to be the case. //char * test = new char[7]; //this is also creating memory on stack and not the heap i reckon and gets destroyed once the function is done with. strcpy_s(mystuff,7,test); //this does the job as long as memory for mystuff has been allocated outside the function. mystuff = test; //this does not work. I know with c style strings you can't just do string assignments they have to be actually copied. in this case I was using this in conjunction with static char test thinking by having it as static the memory would not get destroyed and i can then simply point mystuff to test and be done with it. i would later have address the memory cleanup in the main function. but anyway this never worked. } int main(void) { char * mystuff = new char [7]; //allocate memory on heap where the pointer will point cool(mystuff); std::string test_case(mystuff); std::cout<<test_case.c_str(); //this is the only way i know how to use cout by making it into a string c++ string. delete [] mystuff; return 0; } in the case, of a static array in the function why would it not work. in the case, when i allocated memory using new in the function does it get created on the stack or heap? in the case, i have string which needs to be copied into a char * form. everything i see usually requires const char* instead of just char*. I know i could use reference to take care of this easy. Or char ** to send in the pointer and do it that way. But i just wanted to know if I could do it with just char *. Anyway your thoughts and comments plus any examples would be very helpful.

  • Win32 WndProc Name: why can't I change its name ?

    - by asksuperuser
I have compiled a simple win32 app successfully with bc++ (2 lines excerpt only): LRESULT CALLBACK WindowProcedure (HWND, UINT, WPARAM, LPARAM); wincl.lpfnWndProc = WindowProcedure; Why can't I rename WindowProcedure and compile this: LRESULT CALLBACK WndProc (HWND, UINT, WPARAM, LPARAM); wincl.lpfnWndProc = WndProc; as error message gives: Turbo Incremental Link 5.00 Copyright (c) 1997, 2000 Borland Error: Unresolved external 'stdcall WndProc(HWND *, unsigned int, unsigned int, long)' referenced from C:\PROGRAMMING\SALLY\WIN32TUTORIAL\MAIN.OBJ

  • Using Message Boxes in Windows 7 style

    - by Meta
After reading the MSDN article about proper user interface here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa974176.aspx I want to modify the message boxes I use in my applications to reflect those guidelines (for example, have the Main Instructions in a larger font, better named Buttons, etc...). My question is, is there an API that allows you to easily build those kind of message boxes (a la user32\MessageBox()), or do you actually have to build your own message boxes which follow the guidelines?
