  Hi I'm using Google's Geocoder to find lat lng coordinates for a given address. var geocoder = new google.maps.Geocoder(); geocoder.geocode( { 'address': address, 'region': 'uk' }, function(results, status) { if(status == google.maps.GeocoderStatus.OK) { lat: results[0].geometry.location.lat(), lng: results[0].geometry.location.lng() }); address variable is taken from an input field. I want to search locations only in UK. I thought that specifying 'region': 'uk' should be enough but it's not. When I type in "Boston" it founds Boston in US and I wanted the one in UK. How to restrict Geocoder to return locations only from one country or maybe from a certain lat lng range? Thanks

• How to burn an Audio CD programmatically in Mac OS X

  All the info I can find about burning cd's is for Windows, or about full programs to burn cd's. I would however like to be able to burn an Audio CD directly from within my program. I don't mind using Cocoa or Carbon, or if there are no API's available to do this directly, using a command-line program that can use a wav/aiff file as input would be a possibility too if it can be distributed with my application. Because it will be used to burn dj mixes to cd, it would also be great if it is possible to create different tracks without a gap between them.

• Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - using the modulo operator

  So I have a silly problem, I have not used much SQL Server before, or any SQL for that matter. I basically have a minor mathematical problem that I need solved, and I thought modulo would be good. I have a number of dates in the database, but I need them be rounded off to the closest [dynamic integer] (could be anything from 0 to 5000000) which will be input as a parameter each time this query is called. So I thought I'd use modulo to find the remainder, then subtract that remainder from the date. If there is a better way, or an integrated function, please let me know! What would be the syntax for that? I've tried a lot of things, but I keep getting error messages like integers/floats/decimals can't be used with the modulo operators. I tried casting to all kinds of numeric datatypes. Any help would be appreciated.

  I have a random piece of code, I use for reading from CSV files... and it's fine... until after about 2000 reads... then the getline line fails with an access violation to 0xcccccc... which I assume means that the input stream (file) has been cleared... • What event do I need to supress to stop IE from "Dinging" when I press enter in a text box?

  On simple forms with one text box pressing enter submits the form (and this is great for easy search forms) However on a form with multiple fields, pressing Enter in an input="text" box won't do anything (e.g. submit) but in IE it "Dings" as if you have tried to delete an undeletable object. The question is... what event do I need to suppress in IE to stop this sound? e.g. if I have a username/password form, I DO want the enter key to submit the form, but I certainly don't want the "error" sound.   Well, I have implemented a distinct query in hibernate. It returns me result. But, while casting the fields are getting interchanged. So, it generates casting error. What should be the solution? As an example, I do have database, "ProjectAssignment" that has three fields, aid, pid & userName. I want all distinct userName data from this table. • iPhone: Having trouble figuring out how to scroll a UITableView with custom UITextField cells automa

  Ok, I know this seems like a duplicate question, but don't think it is. I actually have this implemented already (thanks to this SO question), but it seems sluggish. I am willing to tweak it a bit, but I ran across a demo app by AboutObjects that seems to have exactly the right functionality with absolutely no code doing it. I have looked through their demo code dozens of times, and I can't figure out what they are doing that I am not. The code to look at is in their iPhone Development Tutorials section, and is called "Editable TableView" (2nd from the bottom). There are a couple of questions on the forums on that site asking how they got the functionality, but there is no answer (other than "It's a built in function"). Does anyone have any clue as to why their UITableView would implement the input scrolling by default (including being able to scroll the view manually when the keyboard pops up, which I cannot get to work)?

  Observer pattern? Where do i get examples of this in Java (i know google but was hoping for some personal insight also.) On to a proper explanation of my issue: i have 3 forms/windows. "board" is the main form that loads as the application. "chat" is where the text chat takes place. "network" is where network connection is established. i have the game (connect4) working locally and i would like to implement a networked version of it also. my idea is maybe it is related to Observer pattern to have a thread (or something) monitoring network state during runtime and update the chat and board forms of the current network status as well as delivering received data from the network. are my ideas valid? or how should i go about establishing network and network status updates throughout the application? thank you for your input.

  I have tedious project coming up. I need to insert a usb flash drive into a computer, then copy over three files to that drive, and then unmount it and repeat 3000 times (literally). I was hoping to come up with some VB Script that can reduce my input to just 1.) insert the usb and 2.) double click on the .vbs file and remove the usb flash drive. I figure it isnt too difficult to come up with the copy and paste part of the code as long as I am inserting the usb into the same port every time. Is this assumption correct? However, the real problem is unmounting/ejecting the usb drive. Is there any simple VB Script code that can accomplish this? Thank you, -Corey

The users can start editing a template on my application, and at any time they can hit preview and the preview should appear with the latest changes. I want the user to be able to preview the document without saving the changes, the problem is that when I invoke SaveAs() on the document (to create a temp file that I can use as the input for the preview generator), the editor opens the temp document. Is there a way to save a copy of the document being edited but keep the original (open) document with its changes unsaved? Thanks a lot

• PHP: BBCode with SQL selection?

  I would like to code a bbcode with SQL selection. Basically I want the user to be able to input [user]Anotheruser[/user] in a text field, which then is converted in the front-end to an URL that looks like this: http://mydomain.com/user/[userid]/anotheruser. So in order to get the userid, I'd need to include an SQL selection, and additionally an if else to find out of the other user actually exists. Can I do this with a preg_replace as usually used for creating bbcode, or do I need to do something more complex?

• Portable applications for phones?

  What's the best way to write an application in order to get it working on the several phones out there (iPhone, symbian-based, xpPhone, and so on)? The idea I have in mind is that of writing a few interfaces to abstract from phone-dependent stuff (ie: some Input/Output interfaces), implementing such interfaces on the several phones and then writing an application that doesn't use any phone-dependent thing. But is this really possible? What would be the language I should choose for my interfaces and applications? (would love to use C++, hopefully even with GCC extensions) Is there any project that aims to offer what I need? (maybe something like SDL?)

  The code below works fine using jQuery UI 1.8 and jQuery 1.4.2 $("#sid_entry_box").autocomplete( {source:"autocomplete_sid.php?database="+database_name, minLength:4, delay:1000, enable:true, cacheLength:1 }); The database name is passed as a get parameter of the php call. In this application, I have two databases selected by a radio button. Since jQuery loads and assigns this function when the document is loaded, the database name is whatever was checked at that momemnt. What I really need to pass to the php call is the following: database=$("input[name=rf_database_option]:checked").val(); Is ther ean easy to understand way to be able to pass a dynamic dom value?
