• Visual Studio 2010 RC with .net 4 beta 2

  Does anyone know if it is possible to use Visual Studio 2010 RC with the beta 2 version of the .NET 4 framework? The reason I need to use the beta 2 version and not the RC is that there isn't an Expression Blend that can support the .NET 4 RC. I uninstalled the .NET 4 framework that installed with Visual Studio 2010, then I reinstalled the .NET 4 version Beta 2. But now when I launch Visual Studio, I get an error message saying "The operation could not be completed" and it shuts down. How can I make this work? Thanks!

  Hi there, i have looked around before posting my question following what i am looking in my datepicker (start date and end date): 1) Start date: can be any date, (user can select start date current (now) to any future date. 2) Start date: user can select start date as back as 6 months. example: if today is 04/22/2010 then i can go back up to 11/22/2009 but not more than 6 moths. 3) Start date if the user select the start date (current of future, not past) less then 10 days then i would like to alert message saying "need at least 10 days" 4) End date: should be current date to future dates alll previous dates are disabled. 5) *Start date / End date: * should not be greater than one year.   I'm receiving this error message: Cannot open database \"Northwind\" requested by the login. The login failed.\r\nLogin failed for user 'Mike\Mike Simpson' When i try to add the user, which is me. Then sql server says Msg 15063, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 The login already has an account under a different user name. HEre is my connection string: "Data Source=Localhost;Initial Catalog=Northwind;Integrated Security=True" I'm using SSMS not SQL Server express I don't know what else I should do. This application used to work before i zipped it up. Thanks!

• How Do I 'git fetch' and 'git merge' from a Remote Tracking Branch (like 'git pull')

  I have set up some remote tracking branches in git, but I never seem to be able to merge them into the local branch once I have updated them with 'git fetch'. For example, suppose I have remote branch called 'an-other-branch'. I set that up locally as a tracking branch using git branch --track an-other-branch origin/an-other-branch So far, so good. But if that branch gets updated (usually by me moving machine and commiting from that machine), and I want to update it on the original machine, I'm running into trouble with fetch/merge: git fetch origin an-other-branch git merge origin/an-other-branch Whenever I do this, I get an 'Already up-to-date' message and nothing merges. However, a git pull origin an-other-branch always updates it like you would expect. Also, running git diff git diff origin/an-other-branch shows that there are differences, so I think I have my syntax wrong. What am I doing wrong?

  Hi! Silverstripe is running on my since a few weeks. Recently, I get an Internal Server Error message when I try to access the admin area. Having a look in the server's error logs, I discovered following hint: [Mon Apr 05 12:15:26 2010] [error] [client ...] Premature end of script headers: main.php I already was refered to this site: What does the 'premature end of script headers' error mean? But does anybody had this problem in connection with Silverstripe? Would make it much easier to restrict the scope from where the error is caused. Regards, Benedikt

• cakephp routing problem, plugin routing works but not others

  I'm having a strange routing problem with a site I just uploaded, and I've made a number of changes to test what's happening. It doesn't make any sense. My setup is: - I'm using one plugin, which I've included all the routing in the routes.php file. - I've also included the routes for two other controllers, 'events' and 'updates' they look like this: Router::connect('/login', array('plugin' = 'pippoacl', 'controller' = 'users', 'action' = 'login')); Router::connect('/logout', array('plugin' = 'pippoacl', 'controller' = 'users', 'action' = 'logout')); Router::connect( '/events/', array( 'controller' = 'events', 'action' = 'index')); Router::connect('/updates', array('controller' = 'updates', 'action' = 'index')); What happens when I try to get to 'events' is that I get an error message saying: "Not Found Error: The requested address '/Events' was not found on this server." I've checked the database and it's accessible, through the plugin's model/controller/view. I've also made sure the model/controllers for 'events' and 'updates' are there. Can anyone tell me how to trouble shoot this? Thanks, Paul

  I'm passing the company name to an onclick event. Some company names have apostrophes in them. I added '.Replace("'", "'")' to the company_name field. • windbg dv cmd fail - Private symbols (symbols.pri) are required for locals

  i have a C++ application compiled with VS 2008 with pdb file enabled. After i tried to use dv command to display local vars, it shows the following message: Unable to enumerate locals, HRESULT0x80004005 Private symbols (symbols.pri) are required for locals. Type ".hh dbgerr005" for details. Note that: i've run the "dv" command on the correct frame which has the symbol file. i can use "dt" command successfully. i've included the symbol path and the pdb file has been loaded successfully as following: start end module name 00400000 0043f000 helloworld (private pdb symbols) c:\test... Does anyone know the cause? Is there any configuration i missed to enable local var watch? Or VS 2008 pdb is not supported by windbg (i'm using the latest windbg version)?

  HI all misters When I try Debug my project (unit tests) i get the following error: LoadFromContext was detected Message: The assembly named 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.QualityTools.Common' was loaded from 'file:///C:/Program Files/Microsoft Visual Studio 8/Common7/IDE/PrivateAssemblies/Microsoft.VisualStudio.QualityTools.Common.DLL' using the LoadFrom context. The use of this context can result in unexpected behavior for serialization, casting and dependency resolution. In almost all cases, it is recommended that the LoadFrom context be avoided. This can be done by installing assemblies in the Global Assembly Cache or in the ApplicationBase directory and using Assembly.Load when explicitly loading assemblies. It's nightmare for me...!!!   Hello. I have a problem with a C# ASP .NET project in Visual Studio 2008 This problem started when I reinstalled my computer with Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. To this I'm also using Office 2007. • Jboss Seam: Enabling Debug page on WebLogic 10.3.2 (11g)

  Hi all, SKIP TO UPDATE 3 I want to enable the Seam debug page on Weblogic 10.3.2 (11g). So, I have done the following: I have the jboss-seam and jboss-seam-debug jars as dependency in both my ejb and web maven projects (both are modules of my superproject) I put this context parameter in my web.xml: <context-param> <param-name>org.jboss.seam.core.init.debug</param-name> <param-value>true</param-value> </context-param> Now, when I hit the URL of my application, I get the debug page with this exception (full stacktrace at the end of the post): Caused by java.lang.IllegalStateException with message: "No phase id bound to current thread (make sure you do not have two SeamPhaseListener instances installed)" From posts I read it seems that this is somehow related to two jars of jboss-seam or jboss-seam-debug being in the classpath. I opened my ear file and only one of each is present (in the ear) whereas the war itself has no libraries in the WEB-INF/lib. I have also read of another way to initialize debug page using the components.xml.   How do you order items when you override the QueryOverride property of the Content Query Web Part? I have been given responsibility for a Web Part which extends the Content Query Web Part. The QueryOverride property of this Web Part is programmatically changed. Currently, the Web Part does not function as designed, as it does not order the items according to the appropriate field. If I add an <OrderBy> node to the QueryOverride property I get an error message along the lines of 'something wrong with the query this web part is...' and the Content Query Web Part doesn't seem to have an OrderBy property which I could use instead. The "QueryOverride property" part of this msdn article seems to suggest I should be able to add an <OrderBy> node to the QueryOverride but a number of web sites I've been reading suggest that this is not true. So, wow do you order items when you override the QueryOverride property of the Content Query Web Part?

  Hi, I have a workflow started and persisted using messaging activities. The correlation between the Start initial command and the Stop final command works well if they're sent within few seconds. Problems begin when the workflow is unloaded, because the following Stop message throws the following FaultException: If LoadWorkflowByInstanceKeyCommand.AssociateLookupKeyToInstanceId is not specified, the LookupInstanceKey must already be associated to an instance, or the LoadWorkflowByInstanceKeyCommand will fail. For this reason, it is invalid to also specify the LookupInstanceKey in the InstanceKeysToAssociate collection if AssociateLookupKeyToInstanceId isn't set Can anybody help me? The variables inside the workflow are of types int and XDocument. Any help appreciated, thank you

  I get this build error when I build my iPhone project to run on my device: Code Sign error: The identity 'iPhone Developer: x Xxxxx' doesn't match any identity in any profile My development code signing certificate expired so I got a new one. On my first attempt I created a new CSR and got the message above. The second time I reused my original CSR and got the same result. Another strange thing is the new certificate has an extra string with brackets after my name in the "common name" when I look at it using Keychain Access like this: iPhone Developer: x Xxxxx (3BDUAJYC9Q) My original certificate didn't have that. I have Xcode Version 3.1.3 Component versions Xcode IDE: 1191.0 Xcode Core: 1192.0 ToolSupport: 1186.0 Does anyone know how to solve this?

• Hiding Extended program check errors for Includes in ABAP

  How can I stop the ABAP extended program check (SLIN) from reporting errors in include libraries that I may not have write access to? I like to leave the extended check with as few errors & warnings as possible, usually when I intentionally use something in a way that may cause a warning, I use the pseudo comments ("#EC * etc) to hide the message. This also tells the next programmer that I at least thought about the possible consequences of using something in a particular way. When these statements are in includes that I have no control over, I would like to hide the messages without changing the offending libraries/includes.
