• VS2010 Code: 2104 Could not download the Silverlight application

  I've just started getting this Javascript error running VS2010 with SL4 Error: Unhandled Error in Silverlight Application Code: 2104 Category: InitializeError Message: Could not download the Silverlight application. Check web server settings Everything was working fine, changed 1 line of code to use a RegularExpression in the web project (using the Silverlight Business Application template) then when rebuilding I get this error. Google says this is IIS and mimetype related. I'm using Cassini not IIS with VS2010. Rebooted, cleared xap from IE cache. Error on both IE and FF. What could be wrong?

• Problem using SQLDMO/Vb6 against SQL2008

  I have a client, that uses SQLDMO for a portion of a custom application that was written against SQL 2000, and they recently upgraded to SQL2008. The majority of the app still runs fine (doesn't use SQLDMO), but the admin functions which rely on SQLDMO stopped working. I installed the SQL2005 backward compatibility pack, and now SQLDMO partially works, i.e. I can run "select" type queries, but any "Update" queries fail with the error message: to connect to the server you must use SQL Server management studio or sql server management objects (SMO) Any thoughts? Should the backward compatibility pack give me ALL the functionality back, or is this a known issue? BTW: I realize SQLDMO has been deprecated and will go away next release, none-the-less I need to do what I can to solve the problem at hand.

• Asynchronous Html.ImageGetter for setting multiple images in a TextView

  I'm writing an application that takes HTML pages and parses them to display on the screen. Specifically, this application pulls HTML from a message board and lists posts made by users. The problem is that a lot of the content in posts are pictures in <img> tags, so I need to write a Html.ImageGetter to handle the downloading of the images. My textView.setText() method will look like this: myTextView.setText(Html.fromHtml(myText, new ImageGetter() { @Override public Drawable getDrawable(String source) { Drawable d; // Need to async download image here return d; } }, null)); Doing this synchronously is trivial, but is there a suggested way to do this asynchronously so that it doesn't lock up my UI thread? I would also like to eventually build in caching of these images, but I imagine that would be pretty simple once the async downloading was there.

  Hello everyone, I am trying to get a tutorial or step by step instructions on how to connect MS Project 2010 to MS Project Server 2010. I have installed Server 2008 R2 (64 bit), Sharepoint 2010, and Project 2010 on my server and created a new site using the project 2010 template. I am now trying to connect my stand alone Project 2010 to that site for updates and such. I tried the File-Info-Manage accounts option and it comes up with "Could not retrieve server initialization data." I cannot find a step by step tutorial to set it up or to trouble shoot the error message. Any hints or good resources would be much appreciated.

• Differences between Django ugettext and ugettext_lazy

  I keep rereading the Django's internationalization documentation and still don't understand when and why should I use django.translation.ugettext_lazy as opposed to django.translation.ugettext? I understand that using ugettext_lazy means that I will deffer from translating the string until the very end. Is it because Django parses the Accept-Language request header or the request.URL for the language code very late during the execution, which would mean that I may not be targeting the user's preferred language code if I was using ugettext? Would that ultimately mean that I should only use ugettext if I want to enforce that the message gets explicitly translated to the language specified in settings.LANGUAGE_CODE, or the currently active language as per django.translation.get_language()?

  when we bind to heterogeneous collection of objects, not all objects have the same set of properties. in the output window we get a message like: System.Windows.Data Error: 39 : BindingExpression path error: 'RoundingFactor' property not found on 'object' ''MultiLineTextMarkingScheme' (HashCode=7262386)'. BindingExpression:Path=RoundingFactor;.......... This doesn't appear to be an exception, but we are concerned it has a performance impact. Should we be concerned and create a view model that has all the properties we wish to bind to (and have the properties that dont exist on the underlying element return null) or can we just leave it. This situation often occurs in a grid scenario where there might be large numbers of these binding failures.

  From where does this structure originates? I know that it is declared in famous ntdll.h and is a part of undocumented windows API. But isn't it vary between different versions of windows? Is there a way to dump this structure from working system? I tried 'dt SYSTEM_HANLDE_INFORMATION' in Windbg and 'type SYSTEM_HANLDE_INFORMATION' in SoftIce but all I get is 'no such symbol' message. I also dumped ntoskrnl.pdb with PdbDump.exe and searched among the dumped structures - and could not find neither SYSTEM_HANLDE_INFORMATION nor SYSTEM_HANLDE. Could you help me?

• jQuery Block UI: node is undefined

  I'm close to finishing an app that uses quite a bit of JS. Recently Firebug started throwing an error that says "node is undefined", referring to data.parent = node.parentNode; on line 209 of jQuery blockUI plugin Version 2.31 (06-JAN-2010) @requires jQuery v1.2.3 or later. I'm using jQuery 1.4.2 When I remove the code from my page that triggers the Block UI action, the error is still there. So it does not seem to be an issue in my code but an "error" in the file itself, or perhaps some kind of conflict with another file? For info my code is below. My IDE is highlighting some syntax errors in here but it does that even when there are none. And i'm using this xpath to assert that the "niveau" with id='2' is in the response: Xpath expression; //*:niveau[@id='2'] & the expected result is : but i have this error message: XPathContains comparison failed, expecting [ ], actual was [null] but if i try this : exitsts(//*:niveau[@id='2']) & the expected result is : True it works !!? • Flash CS4 AS3 Security Sandbox Violation

  Hi, I have build my entire website with flash and embedded several swf objects (slideshows) into it. everything always worked fine when I published it as swf movie. but now that I want to upload my website an error message occurs saying: Error #2044: Unhandled SecurityErrorEvent:. text=Error #2140: Security sandbox violation: file:///mylayout.swf cannot load file:///slideshow_1.swf. Local-with-filesystem and local-with-networking SWF files cannot load each other. I know that it has something to do with the fact that one of the swf is local with filesystem and the other local with networking. but in my publish settings i told it to access local files only. but it didnt help. does anyone have an answer?

  I inherited a project (lucky me!) which relies on a static library. Trying to build the static lib, I get this error: /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/libtool: -dynamic not specified the following flags are invalid: -ObjC It is followed by these two lines, which I do understand, but this appears to be a separate problem (missing file.) /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/libtool: can't locate file for: -lFlurryWithLocation /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/libtool: file: -lFlurryWithLocation is not an object file (not allowed in a library) Command /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/libtool failed with exit code 1 Am I wrong, and it's all related? Will the 1st line error go away if I fix the missing file part? Either way, what does the -dynamic not specified part of message mean? Thanks!

• Installing flex on Mac Parallels

  Hello folks, I am trying to install Flex 3 on my Windows 7 Virtual machine (parallels desktop) on my Mac Pro. The problem seems to be some sort of conflict between the copy of Flex 3 Builder installed on Mac OS X. The installer tries to install Flex in x:/Program Files/Adobe/Flex Builder 3/ but since Parallels Desktop connects all directories, there resides the Flex Builder 3 installation of MAC. • asp.net connection reset with long running process

  In an asp.net web form, I keep getting a connection reset error message. The page is doing a some long running processing (about 2-5 minutes). I have no problem when the web request comes from the same machine as the web server. But when the request originates across the network, I get a connection reset error about 1:30 or 2 minutes into waiting for a response. I have set the in web.config for this application and put the application it's own application pool. What else can I try?

  Just thought I'd ping this community to see if there's any knowledge on this issue. On android phones SMS messages registered to applications also get sent to the device's inbox. However to prevent clutter, it'd be nice to be able to remove app specific SMS mesg's from the inbox to reduce the potential overflow of those messages. Questions on other google groups on getting a definitive answer on a programmatic way to delete SMS messages from the android inbox don't seem to be pressing. So the scenario: Android App startup. register SMS message types X,Y and Z messages P,Q,X,Y,Z stream in over the course of time, all deposited in inbox Android app detects receipt of X,Y,Z (presumably as part of the program interrupt event) process X,Y,Z Desirement!!!   I'm unable to debug a WinForms C# application using the released version of Visual Studio 2010 Prof. I get the following error message after the second debugging run. Error 9 Unable to copy file "obj\x86\Debug\Arrowgrass Reports.exe" to "bin\Debug\Arrowgrass Reports.exe". The process cannot access the file 'bin\Debug\Arrowgrass Reports.exe' because it is being used by another process. I've tried a pre-build script to attempt to delete this file, but it's locked by Visual Studio. There are a few references to this on the net so it is a know problem. Does anyone have a hotfix or effective work-around?

• Is Objective C fast enough for DSP/audio programming

  I've been making some progress with audio programming for iPhone. Now I'm doing some performance tuning, trying to see if I can squeeze more out of this little machine. Running Shark, I see that a significant part of my cpu power (16%) is getting eaten up by objc_msgSend. I understand I can speed this up somewhat by storing pointers to functions (IMP) rather than calling them using [object message] notation. But if I'm going to go through all this trouble, I wonder if I might just be better off using C++. Any thoughts on this?

• Unable to open word file (MSWord 2007) when word automation program is running

  In my application i am using word automation to get the text content from the file. It is working fine no issues. But at the instant when word automation is processing, if i open the word file, it is throwing a dialog with message (any file) "This file is in use by another application or user. (C:\User\xyz\AppData...\Normal.dotm)". When close the dialog, it asking for save the file "normal.dotm"...template file. This happens only in MSWord 2007 not in MSWord 2003. can any one tell the solution please.

  I'm working on sending out an html based email, and every time it sends the image src tags and some of the anchor href tags are modified to be relative url's. Update 2: This is happening between when the body of the email is generated and sent and when it arrives in my inbox. Update: I am using Postfix on a LAMPP server. In addition, I am using Zend_Mail to send the emails out. • ColdFusion DSN with DB2 via ODBC

  I'm attempting to connect a ColdFusion application to a DB2 ODBC DSN. Here's my error message: Connection verification failed for data source: <DSN NAME> java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver][ODBC Socket][IBM][CLI Driver] SQL30082N Attempt to establish connection failed with security reason "24" ("USERNAME AND/OR PASSWORD INVALID"). SQLSTATE=08001 The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver][ODBC Socket][IBM][CLI Driver] SQL30082N Attempt to establish connection failed with security reason "24" ("USERNAME AND/OR PASSWORD INVALID"). SQLSTATE=08001 I've installed DB2 client tools on the server ColdFusion runs on. I've verified the credentials are correct.
