    - by Ashutosh
I have a UIbutton which i want to work as a joystick. So i am trying to add some gesture recognizer on the same button. I have this in my code right now: UISwipeGestureRecognizer *recognizer; recognizer = [[UISwipeGestureRecognizer alloc] initWithTarget:self action:@selector(handleSwipeFrom:)]; [recognizer setDirection:(UISwipeGestureRecognizerDirectionUp)]; [self.gestureRecieverButton addGestureRecognizer:recognizer]; [recognizer release]; recognizer = [[UISwipeGestureRecognizer alloc] initWithTarget:self action:@selector(handleSwipeFrom:)]; [recognizer setDirection:(UISwipeGestureRecognizerDirectionDown)]; [self.gestureRecieverButton addGestureRecognizer:recognizer]; [recognizer release]; -(void)handleSwipeFrom:(UISwipeGestureRecognizer *)recognizer { NSLog(@"Swipe received.%@",recognizer); } This is the error i am getting now: -[CUETutorialSixteenClusterRootController handleSwipeFrom:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x79b71b0 2012-03-28 13:25:55.724 CUETrainer[1788:11f03] * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '-[CUETutorialSixteenClusterRootController handleSwipeFrom:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x79b71b0' But its not actually doing anything. • When to release the UIImage ?

    - by ragnarius
I use the following code to draw a subimage UIImage* subIm = getSubImage( large, rect ); [subIm drawInRect:self.bounds]; where getSubImage is defined as follows UIImage* getSubImage(UIImage* uim, CGRect rc){ CGImageRef imref = CGImageCreateWithImageInRect(uim.CGImage, rc); UIImage* sub = [UIImage imageWithCGImage:imref]; CGImageRelease(imref); NSLog(@"subimage retainCount=%d", [sub retainCount]); // is 1 return sub; }//getSubImage Is the code correct? Is it safe to "CGImageRelease" imref? Has sub "CGImageRetained" imref? Should I release subIm (I get an error if I do)? Is subIm contained in the autorelease-pool, and , if so, how do I know this? In general, can one check if an object is contained in the autorelease pool (for debugging purpose)?

What i am trying shows in code - (void)drawTextInContext:(CGContextRef)ctx { CGContextSaveGState(ctx); CGFloat width = self.bounds.size.width; CGFloat height = self.bounds.size.height; CGFloat numberFontSize = floorf(0.3f * width); CGContextSetFillColorWithColor(ctx, kDarkCharcoalColor); CGContextSetTextDrawingMode(ctx, kCGTextClip); for (NSInteger i = 0; i < [self.text length]; i++) { NSString *letter = [self.text substringWithRange:NSMakeRange(i, 1)]; CGSize letterSize = [letter sizeWithFont:[UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:numberFontSize]]; CGContextSaveGState(ctx); // I will need to undo this clip after the letter's gradient has been drawn [letter drawAtPoint:CGPointMake(4.0f+(letterSize.width*i), 0.0f) withFont:[UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:numberFontSize]]; if ([self.date isToday]) { CGContextSetFillColorWithColor(ctx, kWhiteColor); CGContextFillRect(ctx, self.bounds); } else { // CGContextDrawLinearGradient(ctx, TextFillGradient, CGPointMake(0,0), CGPointMake(0, height/3), kCGGradientDrawsAfterEndLocation); CGDataProviderRef dataProvider = CGDataProviderCreateWithFilename("left-arrow.png"); CGImageRef image = CGImageCreateWithPNGDataProvider(dataProvider, NULL, NO, kCGRenderingIntentDefault); //UIImage* image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"left-arrow.png"]; //CGImageRef imageRef = image.CGImage; CGContextDrawImage(ctx, CGRectMake(8.0f+(letterSize.width*i), 0.0f, 5, 5), image); //im.image=[UIImage imageNamed:@"left-arrow.png"]; } CGContextRestoreGState(ctx); // get rid of the clip for the current letter } CGContextRestoreGState(ctx); } In else condition i want to show images on the tile so for that i am converting image objects in the CGContextDrawImage. Please help me. I am not sure this would be done in same manner or in other manner please suggest your way to do this. Thanx a lot.

  • Storing and loading a subtitle of an annotation with NSUserDefualts

    - by Krismutt
Happy new year everybody! Basically, what I try to do is to save a subtitle to an annotation when the application terminates. When the application starts again I want this stored subtitle to show up in the callout of the annotation again. What am I doing wrong? I just can't get it to work... storeLocation.m - (void)setCoordinate:(CLLocationCoordinate2D)coor { MKReverseGeocoder *geocoder = [[[MKReverseGeocoder alloc] initWithCoordinate:coor] autorelease]; geocoder.delegate = self; coordinate = coor; [geocoder start]; NSUserDefaults *userDef = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; [userDef setValue:subtitle forKey:@"SavedAddress"]; [userDef synchronize]; NSLog(@"Sparade adress"); } mainViewController.m -(void)viewDidLoad { NSString *savedAddress = [[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] objectForKey:@"SavedAddress"]; if (savedAddress) { // what code should I add here // so that the subtitle shows up // when the application launches? } } Would really appreciate some help with this one... Thanks in advance!

  • Setting Back Button Tittle in Navigation Controller problem

    - by Rafael
Hi, I'm trying to change Back Button tittle in a navigation controller in the following way: In the parent controller I put this in vieDidLoad: self.title = @"Calendars"; self.navigationItem.backBarButtonItem.title = @"Previous"; But this controller is in the stack since I initialized the app: -(void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application{ navController.viewControllers= [NSArray arrayWithObjects:aController,aBcontroller, nil]; [window addSubview:navController.view]; } So, the viewDidLoad in aController is not called until I select the back buttom the first time in the bController... Does anyone knows how to call viewDidLoad just when I push it into the stack? Or do you know another way to change the BackButtom title? Thanks in advanced for your help.

  • Get notification when NSOperationQueue finishes all tasks

    - by porneL
NSOperationQueue has waitUntilAllOperationsAreFinished, but I don't want to wait synchronously for it. I just want to hide progress indicator in UI when queue finishes. What's the best way to accomplish this? I can't send notifications from my NSOperations, because I don't know which one is going to be last, and [queue operations] might not be empty yet (or worse - repopulated) when notification is received.

  • Custom cell and Delete/Move indicators

    - by Kamchatka
Hello, I have a custom UITableViewCell. However, when I got in edit mode, I don't have any Delete and Move indicators appearing. The custom cell draws itself in the contentView. In layoutSubviews, I make sure there is space on the left and one the right of the contentView so that the controls can appear (if this was the problem). - (void)layoutSubviews { self.contentView.frame = CGRectMake(50, 0, self.frame.size.width - 100, sub.thumbnail.size.height + 20); } In the UITableViewController, I return YES in: - (BOOL)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView canMoveRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { How could I solve this lack of interactivity. Is there something specific for custom cells? Thanks!

  • drawRect is not refreshing the screen

    - by coure06
I have this code in my drawRect method float aValue = .0167f; float fValue = 20; for(int i=1; i<=6; i++) { CGContextSelectFont(context, "Arial", fValue, kCGEncodingMacRoman); CGContextSetCharacterSpacing(context, 0); CGContextSetTextDrawingMode(context, kCGTextFill); NSString *hString = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:@"%i",i]; CGContextSetRGBFillColor(context, 1, 1, 1, aValue); CGContextShowTextAtPoint(context, i*25, i*16, [hString UTF8String], [hString length]); aValue += 0.167; fValue += 1; } I am calling a method using NSTimer like this staticTimer = [NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:1.0 target:self selector:@selector(refreshUIView) userInfo:nil repeats:YES]; here is the refreshUIView -(void)refreshUIView { [self setNeedsDisplay]; } Problem is that drawRect is not clearing the screen, its just over writing what have been written last time on screen.

  • How to later assign value to optional attribute of NSManagedObject in a NSManagedObjectModel having

    - by Kundan
I am using coredata framework. In my NSManagedObjectModel i am using three entities that are Class, Student and Score where class and student have one-to-many & inverse relationship and Student and Score have also inverse but one-one relationship. Score entity has all optional attributes and having default '0' decimalVaue, which is not assigned at the time new Student is added. But later i want to assign them score individually and also to particular attribute not all of score attributes in a go. I am able to create and add Students to particular Class but dont have any idea how to call particular student and assign them score. For example I want to assign Score'attribute "dribbling" [there are many attributes like "tackling"] a decimal value to Student "David" of Class "Soccer" ,how i can do that? Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

  • NSString stringWithContentsOfFile failing with what seems to be the wrong error code

    - by deanWombourne
Hello. I'm trying to load a file into a string. Here is the code I'm using: NSError *error = nil; NSString *fullPath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:filename ofType:@"html"]; NSString *text = [NSString stringWithContentsOfFile:fullPath encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding error:&error]; When passed in @"about" as the filename, it works absolutely fine, showing the code works. When passed in @"eula" as the filename, it fails with 'Cocoa error 258', which translates to NSFileReadInvalidFileNameError. However, if I swap the contents of the files over but keep the names the same, the other file fails proving there is nothing wrong with the filename, it's something to do with the content. The about file is fairly simple HTML but the eula file is a massive mess exported from Word by the legal department. Does anyone know of anything inside a HTML file that could cause this error to be raised? Much thanks, Sam

  • Animate cell within a table

    - by amok
That's what I have: - A table with a few rows, one column only What I am trying to accomplish: Double tap on any row should produce an animation of the cell. The animation that I want is a flip vertically of the row. I am displaying some data in each row and what I want to do is displaying the source of the data "on the back" of the row, so to speak. Is it possible? If yes, how?

  • How does a custom accessor method implementation in Core Data look like?

    - by dontWatchMyProfile
The documentation is pretty confusing on this one: The implementation of accessor methods you write for subclasses of NSManagedObject is typically different from those you write for other classes. If you do not provide custom instance variables, you retrieve property values from and save values into the internal store using primitive accessor methods. You must ensure that you invoke the relevant access and change notification methods (willAccessValueForKey:, didAccessValueForKey:, willChangeValueForKey:, didChangeValueForKey:, willChangeValueForKey:withSetMutation:usingObjects:, and didChangeValueForKey:withSetMutation:usingObjects:). NSManagedObject disables automatic key-value observing (KVO, see Key-Value Observing Programming Guide) change notifications, and the primitive accessor methods do not invoke the access and change notification methods. In accessor methods for properties that are not defined in the entity model, you can either enable automatic change notifications or invoke the appropriate change notification methods. Are there any examples that show how these look like?

  • strange memory error when deleting object from Core Data

    - by llloydxmas
I have an application that downloads an xml file, parses the file, and creates core data objects while doing so. In the parse code I have a function called 'emptydatacontext' that removes all items from Core Data before creating replacements from the xml file. This method looks like this: -(void) emptyDataContext { NSMutableArray* mutableFetchResults = [CoreDataHelper getObjectsFromContext:@"Condition" :@"road" :NO :managedObjectContext]; NSFetchRequest * allCon = [[NSFetchRequest alloc] init]; [allCon setEntity:[NSEntityDescription entityForName:@"Condition" inManagedObjectContext:managedObjectContext]]; NSError * error = nil; NSArray * conditions = [managedObjectContext executeFetchRequest:allCon error:&error]; [allCon release]; for (NSManagedObject * condition in conditions) { [managedObjectContext deleteObject:condition]; } } The first time this runs it deletes all objects and functions as it should - creating new objects from the xml file. I created a 'update' button that starts the exact same process of retrieving the file the preceeding as it did the first time. All is well until its time to delete the core data objects again. This 'deleteObject' call creates a "EXC_BAD_ACCESS" error each time. This only happens on the second time through. See this image for the debugger window as it appears when walking through the deletion FOR loop on the second iteration. Conditions is the fetched array of 7 objects with the objects below. Condition should be an individual condition. link text As you can see 'condition' does not match any of the objects in the 'conditions' array. I'm sure this is why I'm getting the memory access errors. Just not sure why this fetch (or the FOR) is returning a wrong reference. All the code that successfully performes this function on the first iteration is used in the second but with very different results. Thanks in advance for the help!

  • Implement delegates for Core Data's fetched results controller or not

    - by Spanky
What advantage is there to implementing the four delegate methods: (void)controllerWillChangeContent:(NSFetchedResultsController *)controller (void)controller:(NSFetchedResultsController *)controller didChangeSection:(id )sectionInfo atIndex:(NSUInteger)sectionIndex forChangeType:(NSFetchedResultsChangeType)type (void)controller:(NSFetchedResultsController *)controller didChangeObject:(id)anObject atIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath forChangeType:(NSFetchedResultsChangeType)type newIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)newIndexPath (void)controllerDidChangeContent:(NSFetchedResultsController *)controller rather than implement: (void)controllerDidChangeContent:(NSFetchedResultsController *)controller Any help appreciated // :)
