• EXTEND_MODEL_CASES SQL 2005 workaround

  Hi, I have a time series based mining model in SQL 2005 Analysis Serveries. I understand in 2008 you can do what if analysis by using EXTEND_MODEL_CASES with a Natural Prediction Join. I'm looking for a workaround or some method of doing the same thing but with 2005. My time series has 3 inputs, and one predict_only. I'd like to use the prediction function to see what types of prediction it makes for 6-12 time intervals in the future with inputs in a separate table. Is there any way to do this or something similar? Thanks

  Using the concepts from the sample code provided by Microsoft for loading HTML content into an IWebBrowser from an IStream using the web browser's IPersistStreamInit interface: HRESULT LoadWebBrowserFromStream(IWebBrowser* pWebBrowser, IStream* pStream) { [snip] } How can one specify the encoding of the html inside the IStream? The IStream will contain a series of bytes, but the problem is what do those bytes represent? They could, for example, contain bytes where: each byte represents a character from the current Windows code-page (e.g. 1252) each byte could represent a character from the ISO-8859-1 character set the bytes could represent UTF-8 encoded characters every 2 bytes could represent a character, using UTF-16 encoding In my particular case, i am providing the IWebBrowser an IStream that contains a series of double-bytes characters (UTF-16), but the browser (incorrectly) believes that UTF-8 encoding is in effect. This results in garbled characters.

• FFmpeg on iPhone

  Hello, I have downloaded ffmpeg libraries for iPhone and compiled them. My objective is to create a movie file from a series of images using ffmpeg libraries.The amount of documentation for ffmpeg on iphone is very less. I checked an app called iFrameExtractor, which does the opposite of what i want, it extracts frames from a video. On the command line there is a command called ffmpeg -f image2 -i image%d.jpg video.mov This turns a series of images into a video. I actually checked it on my mac and it works fine. What i wanted to know was how do we get the equivalent in iPhone. Or rather which class/api or method to call. There are a couple of examples of apps doing this on iPhone. • Why does TabStop stop working??

  I have a project that uses a series of auto-generated user control instances. The user-control itself exists, but I populate a panel with a series of these user controls, one for each item in my collection. Each user control displays a ton of information, but only ONE text field is editable. All of the other fields have TabStop set to false, and are marked as ReadOnly. The tab order of each user control is set at the time it is created so that the tab-key goes from one field to the next (or ... it's supposed to). When I have TWO fields on my user control whose TabStop is set to true, everything works great. But if I only have ONE field whose TabStop is true, the tab key stops working, and I have to physically CLICK on the next user control for it to gain focus. What's up? Has anyone else seen this behavior? Am I doing something stupid as usual?

  I have an array that I want on multiple pages, so I made it a SESSION array. I want to add a series of names and then on another page, I want to be able to use a foreach loop to echo out all the names in that array. This is the session: $_SESSION['names'] I want to add a series of names to that array using array_push like this: array_push($_SESSION['names'],$name); I am getting this error: array_push() [function.array-push]: First argument should be an array Can I use array_push to put multiple values into that array? Or perhaps there is a better, more efficient way of doing what I am trying to achieve?

• Restoring a "Canceled" event with Google Calendar API?

  I'm trying to change the status of an event back from "canceled" to "confirmed" using Google Calendar API (I'm using .NET but an answer in any language would help) but I get GDataRequestException error: "You can't modify a cancelled event" If I've used the API to delete an event in a repeating series, for example, is it possible to change the status of the resulting recurrence exception (there's no EXDATE, just a new "canceled" event that is only visible when the feed is requested with start and end date) to "confirmed" (or even delete the resulting exception completely) in order to restore the repeating series to the original state? event.Delete() and event.Update() don't even see the event any longer once it's been .canceled. event.Update() gives the above error.   What operator or expression can I use that will fire on every number, including zero? I want a logic operator that will fire with ever number it receives. My animations pause at zero. This skips on zero if (numberThing> 0); This skips on 9 if (numberThing>> 0); This jitters 'fires quickly and goes back on count' if (numberThing== 0); EXPLANATION I'm catching split string values in a logic function, and feeding them to a series of IF, ELSE IF statements. I'm using this with a timer, so I can measure the discrepency.   Hi there, I need to match a series of user inputed words against a large dictionary of words (to ensure the entered value exists). So if the user entered: "orange" it should match an entry "orange' in the dictionary. Now the catch is that the user can also enter a wildcard or series of wildcard characters like say "or__ge" which would also match "orange" The key requirements are: * this should be as fast as possible. * use the smallest amount of memory to achieve it. If the size of the word list was small I could use a string containing all the words and use regular expressions. however given that the word list could contain potentially hundreds of thousands of enteries I'm assuming this wouldn't work. So is some sort of 'tree' be the way to go for this...? Any thoughts or suggestions on this would be totally appreciated! Thanks in advance, Matt

• Subclipse CollabNet Myster Icon

  The scenario is that I'm merging a series of cherry picked revisions from on SVN branch into trunk. I'm using the subclipse CollabNet client to do the merge. Everything works great, except for in addition to the files I picked to merge, my working directory shows a series of changes that svn thinks have changed but that I haven't chosen to merge. If I do a diff on the files in question it tells me there's no differences. If I do a commit, I get the screenshot below, with the mystery icon I haven't been able to find document anywhere. • How do I dynamically name objects in Java?

  Let's say I needed to make a series of String[] objects. I know that if i wanted to make a string array called "test" to hold 3 Strings I could do String[] test = new String[3]; But let's say I needed to make a series of these arrays and I wanted them to be named, 1,2, 3, 4, 5... etc. For however many I needed and I didn't know how many I'd need. How do I achieve a similar effect to this: for (int k=0; k=5; k++){ String[] k = new String[3]; } Which would created 5 string arrays named 1 through 5. Basically I want to be able to create array objects with a name detemined by some other function. Why can't I seem to do this? Am I just being stupid?

  Can I create a LineChart with multiple data providers? Since LineSeries has a dataprovider property, I'm assuming the answer is Yes. • Drawing graphs in MS Excel somehow got complicated

  I want to draw several graphs and combine them into one figure. I will explain the problem in an example. Let's say that I want to draw two graphs with these points: Graph #1 (X and Y are defining a coordinate). X - Y _____ 1 - 5 2 - 5 5 - 7 9 - 10 Graph #2 X - Y _____ 6 - 8 8 - 12 9 - 7 12 - 8 15 - 11 21 - 11 What I do is that I create a chart and click on "Select Data". There I create two series and choose X and Y values. However, this doesn't work since it doesn't allow me to choose different X values for different graphs. Although I choose different for these two series, the second one is chosen for both. This is how it looks like in the end: Do you know how to fix this? I'm using Excel 2008 for Mac.

• Flex chart ItemRollOver behavior

  Hi Guys, I'm trying to prevent a default chart item roll over highlight in a Spark column chart. If you look at any of the chart examples on this page , when you roll over any of the chart series items, they turn a darkened shade of their original colour. This is what I want to prevent. So far I have had no luck with using the itemRollOverColor property, as this only allows you to set it to one specific colour for the whole chart (my app has several different coloured series on the chart at once). Also, trying to leverage the itemRollOver event (with preventDefault() etc) hasn't worked either. Does anyone have any idea what I am missing here? Thanks for reading guys

• Best way to get record counts grouped by month, adjusted for time zone, using SQL or LINQ to SQL

  I'm looking for the most efficient way to suck out a series of monthly counts of records in my database, but adjusting for time zone, since the times are actually stored as UTC. I would like my result set to be a series of objects that include month, year and count. I have LINQ to SQL objects that looks something like this: public class MyRecord { public int ID { get; set; } public DateTime TimeStamp { get; set; } public string Data { get; set; } } I'm not opposed to using straight SQL, but LINQ to SQL would at least keep the code a lot more clean. The time zone adjustment is available as an integer (-5, for example). Again, the result set what I'm looking for is objects containing the month, year and count, all integers. Any suggestions? I can think of several ways to do it straight, but not with a time zone adjustment.

• How do I animate a single ChartSeriesItem in a Flex 3 Chart?

  Here's my setup... I have a ColumnChart above a DataGrid. When the user clicks on an individual column in the chart, I programmatically select the corresponding cell in the DataGrid. Conversely, if a user clicks a cell on the DataGrid, I select the corresponding column in the Chart and change it's color to haloBlue. This work well, however if possible I’d like to make the column stand out more. Is there a way to animate an individual column and not the entire series? For example, I might like to make the column zoom or expand out and back to it’s original size once selected. Or, if this is not possible, can a stroke be added to only the selected column and not the entire series? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

[['Chicago', 'ORD'], ['Detroit', 'DTW'], ['Atlanta', 'ATL']] (I realize that dictionaries would probably be more appropriate in this situation, but I'm just trying to understand lists a bit better). • What is the most mature library to render equirectangular images in Flash?

  I have a series of equirectangular images. I'd like to display them in a custom Flash player so that the user could see the spherical nature of the images, and "look up", "look down", "look left/right" (or pan, zoom, etc). (Note that I have a long series of images, so the library must allow for dynamic loading of the images themselves, rather than having the images "baked" into the SWF player.) What is the best library to manage the display of the equirectangular images in Flash? By "best", I mean the most mature, most reliable, most robust, and fastest performing.   I am trying to compute a rolling window (shifting by 1 day) covariance matrix for a number of assets. Say my df looks like this: df <- data.frame(x = 0:4, y = 5:9,z=1:5,u=4:8) How would a possible for loop look like if I want to calculate a covariance matrix on a rolling basis by shifting the rolling window by 1 day? The structure of project directory is like this: series/ episode1/nameofepisode1.str episode2/nameofepisode2.str episode3/nameofepisode3.str ... Question: When I finish subtitle of an episode, I want to assign release tag for this episode (episode1_v1). I wanted to use git for this, but in git tag is assigned only to the whole repository. What to do, so that I can view every episode progress separately? Maybe there are some more suitable VCS for this?

  I've begun watching a series of first year lectures from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Australia, and I'm a bit perplexed by the instructors explanation of how an SRAM gate works. I realize this isn't exactly "programming-related" but since it comes from a series of lectures relating to computing and programming, I thought StackOverflow may be able to help (reddit failed me entirely). In this lecture beginning at around 32:12, Richard (the lecturer) tries to explain how a "latch gate" works within SRAM. Although his students seem to keep up, I feel I'm missing something crucial which is preventing the concept from really "clicking" in my brain.
