I am trying to configure Outlook express 2003 with gmail (IMAP enabled)
But my outlook is giving me this error.

How to rectify this problem???
Whenever I try to print an attached oversized PFF sheet (larger then letter sized) from Outlook, the print is cut off. How can I configure Outlook to automatically fit the PDF to page sized with out having to open it up in Adobe Reader?
I have a rather old Palm m500 PDA that I have been considering replacing with a Blackberry, as it has been slowly starting to fail. I already have decided on which model I want, but the problem is that the information in Palm Desktop 4 (what of it is actually exportable) is in a legacy database format that can't be migrated to MS Office Outlook2007. Is there a converter that will spit out an Outlook-importable file, or is there a free Windows PIM that happens to support importing/exporting both formats?
I save my notes in Outlook notes. However it's just a list of notes without any kind of categorization.
I am looking for a replacement software where I can define my categories and I can place a note in one the categories.
Plus the ability to search text across all the notes.
I prefer an Outlook plugin but a small quick launch app will do.
Constantly at my shop, we are moving Outlook (or other email program) files between computers or Windows Installations, and sometimes, people have HUNDREDS of folders. Is there a quick way to move ALL the folders from multiple data files (*.PST) into one single file, without dragging each and every folder? No, I don't want to move the Inbox folder into the other Inbox folder for the quick move, I want something simple like selecting all folders and moving that way. Does such a method exist in any version of Outlook?
In the Outlook "folder list", it is quite easy to accidentally pickup a folder and move that into another folder. There is no undo for this, and I have not found a way to prevent this.
I thought it was just me, but I recently saw a coworker do the same thing while filing mail via drag and drop. We are using Exchange 2003 and Outlook2007.
We are using Outlook Express to access mail through a POP3 server. The problem is that every now and then, Outlook Express starts downloading all old emails, which amounts to tens of thousands of emails. This happens on every single computer (three) at the office.
Is this caused by our OE configuration? Or by our hosting?
i am unable to open some attachments which is in russian language using microsoft outlook 2003. this problem is with my 2-3 staffs. and i am able to open these mails in outlook express in same computer. what is the problem?
In Outlook 2003 when I received a meeting invite I could click the Accept button once to accept it. In Outlook 2010 I have to click Accept, then click "Send the response now", which is completely useless - what else do I need to say other than "yes, I'll be there"? How do I restore the old behaviour so that a I can accept with a single click? (Declining is different, of course - I might want to edit the message then.)
Hi,
I'm sharing a contact list with another user on the network, but I'm using outlook2007 and the other user is using outlook 2003. The other user has assigned many different categories, but I do not get those categories added to the list of categories I can choose from when adding/editing contacts, I can see certain contacts have those categories. How do I add those categories so I can also add them? The shared contacts originate from the other user.
Thanks
In a small three-user environment running Outlook2007 on Exchange 2010, all users previously just used one user's calendar as their main calendar. New employee #4 has been set up with his own calendar per the owner's request, they use colored categories for their calendar events, and his categorized activities are not showing up as colored on the other users' Outlook calendars - only his own. What settings should I look at to enable the correct color coding again?
I have set up a rule to forward incoming emails from Outlook to my Gmail account. The problem is that certain mails in which I'm a CC (about 1000/day monitoring system running status) are also forwarded to my Gmail and fill up my account very quickly.
I have set up rules in Outlook to move those emails to a certain folder (called Monitored_Emails), but I don't know how to filter those emails so they don't forward to Gmail.
How can I set this rule to forward all emails except those in a certain folder name?
my university created an outlook email for me [email protected] i can't see if the email uses pop3 or imap, i have only access to the mailbox, i sign it to it from hotmail.com, i don't want to check my email, i prefer to:
1) use thunderbird to check the email (i'm a linux guy, i don't have outlook software)
2)forward emails from the university email to my gmail
any of these options is fine for me, can i do that?

Hello All,

Please tell me how to move my contacts from Office Communicator 2005 to 2007. I have an XML file from my Application data with name "presence_*_com.xml" which contains all my contacts. Is there any way to use this file to get back my contacts into 2007 version?
I am getting ready to perform a migration of SharePoint 2007 to 2010, and during the migration horus, i will want to prevent anyone form adding content anywhere, but yet I would like for people to read the content. Is there a way to make the sharepoint 2007 site read only?
I have been using MobileMe for over a year with success. I use it to sync my Outlook calendars in my work and home computers, using Windows 7 and Outlook2007. The main Outlook calendar folder in my work computer is replicated to MobileMe as "Work", and synced to my home computer, and the main calendar folder in my home computer is replicated to MobileMe as "Home", and synced to my work computer. This means that I can see both "Work" and "Home" calendars from both computers (as well as from the web interface through me.com), which is very convenient.
Yesterday I migrated to the new MobileMe calendar, accepting the suggestion that popped up on the me.com website. After the migration, the MobileMe control panel on each of Windows computers asked me to re-configure my calendar setup, and everything fell apart. The "Home" and "Work" calendar folders in Outlook are now ignored by MobileMe, and new ones named "Home in MobileMe" and "Work in MobileMe" have been created, and placed in a separate Outlook data file rather than the default. This means that now:
I now have four folders, two of which are not replicated to MobileMe
The two folders that are not replicated reside on a separate data file, so alarms and reminders don't work; they're basically useless to me as calendar folders
In addition, the button in the MobileMe Control Panel that used to let me specify what MobileMe folder should be synced against the default Outlook folder has gone. MobileMe is now too smart.
Do you have any idea how to undo this mess and go back to a situation where I have two folders, as described in the top paragraph, which keep synced? I don't want an extra data file. Thanks.
Hi,
This might be basic, but hopefully someone can help me:
We have a well-working SCOM 2007 R2 implementation monitoring our Microsoft infrastructure. Now, on one of these servers there's an event (logged to the eventlog) that I need to be alerted on.
I have created a group and put this one windows server in it. Then, I created a monitor with simple event detection, entered the event id and used the group name as "monitor target".
This doesnt work - the monitor doesn't show up in health explorer at all.
However, If I create the monitor with "Windows computers" as target it works, but that means I'll have to disable the monitor, and then enable it for the group, which is cumbersome and slightly illogical to me.
Is this by design, or am I doing something wrong?
Hello,
We have run out of hard disk space on our existing Small Business Server 2008 and simply wish to upgrade both of the hard drives (currently raid 1) - without too much hassle.
My main concern is how to copy across the embedded version of Microsoft Exchange 2007.
Is there a simple way to copy all the data across and upgrade?
Or is it best to backup and do a clean install? - The difficulty is that it's the same server, so we can't replicate mailboxes for exchange.
Any hints or tips welcomed!?
Recently, something changed with my Microsoft Word 2007 installation/preferences on Windows XP, such that whenever I open a word document, all the field codes are displayed raw instead of as their expanded value. For example, my header reads:
My Name { TITLE \* MERGEFORMAT } Version { REVNUM \* MERGEFORMAT }
But, if I copy and paste it here, it reads expanded:
My Name My Doc Title Version 42
I expect to see the copy and paste version directly inside Word, I can work around this by right clicking on each such field and choosing toggle field codes, however, I never had to do that before, as previously, the document opened with all such field codes expanded.
Another example is the Table of Contents which shows as:
{ TOC \o "1-3" \h \z \u }
Instead of the full table of contents.
I searched the word options dialog, but could not find anything that appeared relevant.
Please suggest how to restore the old behavior.
Exchange Authentication dll:
https://red002.mail.emea.microsoftonline.com/owa/auth/owaauth.dll
sending style is:
request.Method = "POST";
request.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded";
And sending following message
destination=https://red002.mail.emea.microsoftonline.com/owa/[email protected]/?ae=Folder&t=IPF.Appointment&[email protected]&password=xxxx
I'm getting this error:
The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request.
If I use the path in a webbrowser it is accesable. It is not a bad request indeed.
The server is Exchange server 2007 and replaced the path for owa. But it can not auth the path?
