  • Messenger Thinks My Ip is Invalid

    - by Umut Benzer
Hello. I am using Windows Live Messenger 2009 on Windows 7. I am using a 3G modem (ZTE Propietary USB Modem) I connect to the Internet using a software my ISP provided me. In last three days, my Messenger started to disconnect. Here is what I observed and tried to do: 1- I can browse web, can do FTP transfer etc. and obiviously have a valid IP. 2- I can sign in to Messenger (appear offline) but when I change my status to anything other then appear offline, Messenger says my connection to service has been lost. (However, it exists.) 3- When I run, MSN Connection Troubleshooter, it says my IP is invalid. When I click repair, it says repaired and just after that, I run the troubleshooter again, and it says my IP is invalid again. (However, it is valid and I am browsing the net.) 4- If I connect the Internet through eterhet or wireless there is no problem at all. 5- I re-installed Messenger (deleting all settings manually through registry and folders), re-installed all drivers and software related to USB 3G Modem. It doesn't work. And then, I took a full backup then formatted entire computer, installed a fresh windows 7, after 5 minutes, the same problem occured. What do you recommend? What can I do? Addition As seen on screenshot, it says Server IPv4 adress is 0.0.0.0 It seems like a problem, I don't know if it is. If it is, how can I solve it? Here is what I get, when I netstat. • Imon RM200 remote (device 15c2:ffdc) won't work on Ubuntu 12.04 or 11.10

    - by skerit
The device is recognized just fine: Bus 001 Device 005: ID 15c2:ffdc SoundGraph Inc. iMON PAD Remote Controller Found /sys/class/rc/rc0/ (/dev/input/event6) with: Driver imon, table rc-imon-mce Supported protocols: RC-6 Enabled protocols: RC-6 Repeat delay = 500 ms, repeat period = 125 ms But any testing results in nothing. I point the remote, I press a few button and nothing happens. Not in irw, not in ir-keytable, nothing. It's driving me insane.

    - by tim
I am working on a demo for a potential client and they want to run a webex meeting. Right now we are testing with the following scenario. Machine A is in a lab and is running our app Machine B is elsewhere (a laptop) and we use remote desktop to connect to machine A and run software on it. If we have a webex on machine B with other people can we show the apps from machine A to the webex participants?

  • Is there a remote desktop management tool that I can email to people?

    - by Matt 'Trouble' Esse
I often need to remotely manage PC and Macs for desktop support. I'm after a remote desktop management support tool that I could email (or send a url) that the customer could click on (or run) and I could then remotely manage their PC/Mac A tool that could work on both operating systems would be great but not mandatory (a separate tool for both/either will suffice) A tool that has an iPhone App would be fantastic too but this would just be very much a 'wish list' Looking forward to your suggestion!

  • Why does NX Client for Windows silently closes after connection?

    - by pavel
Hey! I connect remotely to my Ubuntu server from Vista machine. Now I need to run a GUI application on the server (Wireshark). So I decided to use FreeNX server/client to view Ubuntu GUI on Vista I have successfully installed FreeNX on Ubuntu and NX Client on Vista. I was following this guide Unfortunately, now I found myself stuck with the following problem. At the client, the !M logo window appears, but after a few seconds that window just closes, even without showing any error message. Guys, I'm really stuck, please help! Maybe I should have installed some graphical environment on the server? • SSH Proxy (SOCKS) through remote computer - TCP & DNS

    - by Moz Morris
My problem: Need DNS to be resolved through my remote machine. So I have a REMOTE that I can access from LOCAL via SERVER. This REMOTE can access a host TARGET_HOST. TARGET_HOST is setup in REMOTE's host file like so: 123.123.123.123 TARGET_HOST I want to be able to access (in the browser & my application) TARGET_HOST from LOCAL. I have setup a 'proxy' like so: LOCAL to SERVER: ssh -L 4567:LOCAL:4568 user@SERVER SERVER to REMOTE: ssh -D 4568 user@REMOTE LOCAL's network config is setup to use a proxy on localhost through port 4567. So, everything is great and I can see TARGET_HOST in my browser. The problem I have is that the DNS doesn't resolve from LOCAL and therefore some code I have going on in my application, fails. Can anyone help me? Can anyone suggest a better method?

  • How to create a snapshot volume to a remote server?

    - by Purres
I want to backup a few virtual machines to a backup server. Here're the backup steps. suspend a virtual machine create a snapshot of the virtual machine using lvcreate -s resume a virtual machine dd if=/virtual_machine_path | lzop > /temp/backup.lzo rsync /temp/backup.lzo -e "ssh " 1.2.3.4:/backup_path/ However, the hypervisor server doesn't have enough hard disk space to create a snapshot in step 2. Is there a way to create a logical volume snapshot to a remote server?

  • Remote Desktop triggers a loud Beep on local machine - how to shut it up?

    - by codeulike
When I remote desktop into a server, I get a loud beep coming out of my local machine whenever certain messageboxes pop up. (An example is to search for something in the Event Log - when the search finds no results, I get a message box accompanied by a loud beep) Annoyingly, the beep still happens even if I have sound turned off locally or the volume right down - it seems to be hooking in to some low level OS-beep mechanism. Any way to turn it off?

  • Is it possible to use some form of code for example in PUTTY to execute a task which is done Remote

    - by xnxmx
Basically, Every morning at 6:00AM I have to do login to remote desktop, open a program, and click on a few things to make reservations before anyone else does. I want to know if there is any other way that this can be done by simply turning it into some form of a code and executing it instead of manually doing it. Of course, time is precious here and the task needs to be done at the same pace if not faster. Thanks!!!

  • recent unreliable wireless connection on 10.04 and 10.10

    - by gabkdlly
Recently, my internet connection over wireless has become unreliable, on both a Dell laptop running Ubuntu 10.04 as well as my Desktop running Ubuntu 10.10 . The problem does not seem to occur on a laptop running Windows Vista. The problem does not seem to occur on my Openmoko Freerunner ( running Android 1.5 ), though I hardly ever use this device to connect over WLAN, so the problem may have just slipped by. This problem does not seem to appear when I boot into Ubuntu 9.10 from a live CD ( more precisely, I was able to ping fu-berlin.de for an hour without any packet loss ). Under Ubuntu 10.10, I am experiencing about 33% packet loss. On my main Ubuntu Desktop, I have tried the following wireless devices: a Longshine PCI card ( an old device with an RTL8180L chip ) a D-Link DWL-510 PCI card ( this device threw warnings in dmesg ) a USB device from MSI ( US54EX ). Usually my wireless network shows up in the network manager with a normal signal strength, even when the connection speed is slow ( which happens often ) or the connection gets reset ( asking me to click connect to re-authenticate my wireless connection ). I have observed this problem with a Netgear KWGR614 Router ( with the manufacturers firmware ), as well as with a TP-LINK TL-WR741ND router running OpenWrt. Taking a look at my routers logs, I find many instances of the following line: Tuesday,04 Jan 2011 03:53:01 [TCP SYN Flood][Deny access policy matched, dropping packet] I know that the Netgear router is susceptible to denial of service attacks, as I have previously been able to disrupt its operation by putting an nmap scan into a while loop. I use WEP on the Netgear router and WPA on the TP-LINK to encrypt the wireless connections. Is it possible that someone is jamming my signal ?

  • What happens when the server that the Remote Desktop Connection Broker goes down?

    - by Frank Owen
I would like to setup the Remote Desktop Connection Broker to allow better load balancing of the two terminal servers we have as well as allowing the user to re-establish to the correct server if they get disconnected. My worry is, if I set this up and the server this service is running goes down, does the terminal server stop accepting connections or will they just lose the benefit of having RDCB turned on? I don't want to add another point of failure in this equation unless I have to.

  • How to connect to database on remote server

    - by user137263
Where there is VPN to remote server and then access to the database via local network interface, how can one establish a remote link between one's computer (with a programme such as Visual Studio 2010) and SQL Server (e.g. 2008 R2) ? Any attempts to create a direct link to the SQL Server are blocked. Whilst the SQL Server can be configured to allow external access, this provides its own host of problems. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Leave bash script running on remote terminal while not logged in?

    - by mechko
I have a bash script that takes several hours to run. While it's running, I would like to do other things, which may involve logging out or disconnecting from the internet (my script runs network tests on various computers). I understand that there is a command that would allow me to run my tests from a remote terminal and logout of the terminal while it runs. Does anyone know what this command is? Thanks
