• Is it ok to share private key file between multiple computers/services?

  So we all know how to use public key/private keys using SSH, etc. But what's the best way to use/reuse them? Should I keep them in a safe place forever? I mean, I needed a pair of keys for accessing GitHub. I created a pair from scratch and used that for some time to access GitHub. Then I formatted my HDD and lost that pair. Big deal, I created a new pair and configured GitHub to use my new pair. Or is it something that I don't want to lose? I also needed a pair of public key/private keys to access our company systems. Our admin asked me for my public key and I generated a new pair and gave it to him. Is it generally better to create a new pair for access to different systems or is it better to have one pair and reuse it to access different systems? Similarly, is it better to create two different pairs and use one to access our companies systems from home and the other one to access the systems from work, or is it better to just have one pair and use it from both places?

  I would like to keep my contacts and a calendar synchronized between several desktops and cellphones. Is there a way to achieve this without using Google or similar organisations? I want to keep my data protected and safe, so an encrypted transfer would be useful. Do i need to install a service on my own rootserver? or are there any services available, that are safe? I read this post, but there is not mentioned not to use Google: Thunderbird contacts sync so no solutions with SoGo or LDAP. maybe Zimbra is a solution? or Funambol? I tried kolab, but had some unsolveable problems.

• Share wired internet connection of windows 7 pc to iPad via bluetooth?

  At my work, we have wireless... but our desktops are wired. The wireless in the building is sparse and horrible and my iPad has an unstable wifi connection to it. However, I was wondering since my iPhone is capable of sharing internet to my iPad via bluetooth protocol, if my PC could somehow reproduce that same protocol and allow the iPad to do the same? I'd love it if my iPad had a stable connection via bluetooth when it's just sitting near my desktop. Please advise! Thanks!

• How can I trace NTFS and Share Permissions to see why I can (or can't) write a file

  I'm trying to track down WHY I can write in a folder that, by my best estimation, I should not be able to write. The folder is shared with "Everyone" has "Full Control", with the files being more restrictive. My best guess is there's some sort of sub-group membership that's allowing me to write, but the nesting of groups that exists in our Active Directory is pretty extensive. Is there a tool, that will tell me which of the ACL entries allowed or disallowed my writing a file in a folder? The Effective Permissions dialog is marginally helpful, but what I need is something like a "NTFS ACL Trace Tool", if such a thing exists.

• Can IP v4 and IP v6 share a single physical Ethernet?

  I keep reading about the transition from IP v4 to IP v6, and the possible advantages and problems. One thing that keeps popping up is "dual-stack" networking, meaning (I believe) a host can speak both IPv4 and IPv6. I don't quite understand how this works, however. Can a host actually transmit using IPv4 and IPv6 at the same time over the same physical Ethernet (like e.g. HTTP and FTP can be used simultaneously)? Or is the physical network strictly IPv4 or IPv6, with the "other" protocol sent via tunneling?

• One huge drive (network share) from many computers, with folder priority redundancy.

  Not sure if this exists, but I have a huge amount of data to store (about 5-50mb files) and as it is now, I have 5 computers, each with raid 5 providing about 6TB hard drive each. This is causing some problems with the software I am using (something home made) so I'm wondering, is there some software that I can install on all those computers that will mask it as one huge drive... Running windows on those computers, from Xp 64 bit to windows server 2008 I would also like to set a priority on each folder on the redundancy it has, some folders I can live without no online backup (I have a backup in a safe of that data) but some I need full online backup system if one hard drive fails. Something open source, as I try to use that as much as I can, but all ideas welcome.

  say I have a wordpress site: https://www.foobar.com and I want to have an entry point to a rails app at a certain subdirectory within that same domain: https://www.foobar.com/rails_app I know this is possible if both the wordpress app and the rails app are hosted on the same box, but is this in anyway possible if they are hosted on different boxes? I do not want to use subdomains because I am trying to allow ajax post requests from one to the other and not having to deal with single origin policy stuff.

This is so you can create the index at a specific location C) Point clients to index. Again this mentions Option double click. What is the Windows equivalent to option double click iTunes?

  I have configured my Nginx with Django uwsgi. When the django server starts, it reads a 5MB file from the hard-disk. Now, Without Nginx with Django default server python manage.py runserver = Runs immediately and starts serving pages. Problem: With Nginx as the server It takes very long time and several HTTP 504 before it start serving pages. So, How does uwsgi workers work with Nginx ? I have: 4 Workers 512 Threads each So, is the 5MB file getting read 512 * 4 times ? Is there a possible work around for this in Nginx / Uwsgi ?

• How can I use my Windows 7 computer to share WiFi connection with PCs that don't have wireless?

  Long story short: modem and wireless router are downstairs and we're having a LAN party where some visitors don't have wireless. There's no way to run the length of cabling required, so looking for options. My Windows 7 Home Premium PC has a wireless-n connection, and I'd like to see if I can use it as a "hub" or switch of sorts, running an ethernet cable out of the back and into a switch, then splitting off to the other PCs. Is this an option? I know with Internet sharing, you can set up your PC as a wireless access point, but I want to do the opposite.

• Excel 2013: VLookup for cells that share common characters within cell but are both surrounded by other non-matching text

  I am pulling information from 2 different databases. The databases use different naming protocol for the exact same item/specified placement however they always have certain components of the name in common. The length of these names can vary throughout each of the databases (see the pic below) so I don't think counting characters would help. I need a formula (probably a vlookup/match/index of some sort) to pair up the names from the 2nd database name with the 1st database name and then place it in the adjacent column(B2) on sheet1. Until this point I've had to match, copy, and paste the pairs manually from one sheet to the other and it takes FOREVER. Any help would be much appreciated!!! For example: Database1 Name in Sheet1,A2: 728x90_Allstate_629930_ALL_JUL_2013_MASSACHUSETTSAUTO_BAN_MSN_ROSMSNAUTOSMASSACHUSETTS_7.2.13 Database2 Name in Sheet2, A13: BAN_MSN_ROSMSNAUTOSMASSACHUSETTS728X90_728X90_DFA Common Factors: "ROSMSNAUTOSMASSACHUSETTS" & "728X90" Therefore A2 and A13 need to pair up In some cases, Database 1 and 2 will have a common name aspect but sizing will be different. They need to have BOTH aspects in common in order to be paired so I would NOT want the below example to pair up. Database1 Name in Sheet1,A2: 728x90_Allstate_629930_ALL_JUL_2013_MASSACHUSETTSAUTO_BAN_MSN_ROSMSNAUTOSMASSACHUSETTS_7.2.13 Database2 Name in Sheet2, A12: BAN_MSN_ROSMSNAUTOSMASSACHUSETTS300X250_300X250_DFA Common Factor: Only "ROSMSNAUTOSMASSACHUSETTS" matches. • What are my options for a secure External File Share in Server 2008 R2?

  Hi, I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine installed on a home network with a number of files that need to be shared in a few different scenarios. I would like for all three scenarios to have a solution with some sort of encyption to protect the data during transfer. Scenario 1: I need to access files from my laptop (Mac OSX) or another computer outside of the network. This option seems like the easy one to answer in that I could use LogMeIn, the windows VPN, etc. to create such a connection. Scenario 2: I need to provide access to another user with minimal installation / configuration on his or her end. This makes me think of the new FTP 7.5 provided with Server 2008 R2 but i'm not sure of the details: Does it support SSH or some other form of encryption?, can an OSX user connect?, etc. My question here is what are my options? I really just don't know where to get started...

  I cannot seem to get Ubuntu to mount a mac share via SMB or AFP. I've tried the following...   I am new in Linux. I was trying to install wine and after /i followed instructions from a youtube video i got to the point where I needed to install wine from Ubuntu Software Center. • How can I install Insight debugger?

  Hello. I am following along a book in which Insight debugger is required. I didn't find it on my Maverick. I googled and I found that it's not supported in debian anymore but I really need to install it. I tried to compile the source and it installed but keep telling me that tk is missing whenever i start it. I installed tk with sudo aptitude install tk then tried to run again it's the same. I compiled it one more time and nothing really changes. So please how can I install that ? • Software center is not working after attempt to install skype

  I am completely new person on Linux. I installed it just today and i have to say I like them a lot, until I faced the problem. I was looking on the internet but nothing worked for me. After i downloaded skype and tried to run it, software center showed up and was loading something for 5 mins. then it just dessapeared. Now everytime I try to turn it on, the window is gone after 3 sec. I tried to kill it but didnt really wokrked.
