• Tame this format with a cross tab ?

  I have result of query in form EmpId Profit OrderID CompanyName ------ ------ ------- -------------- 1 500 $ 1 Acme Company 1 200 $ 1 Evolve Corp. 2 400 $ 1 Acme Company 2 100 $ 1 Evolve Corp. 3 500 $ 1 Acme Company 3 500 $ 1 Evolve Corp. Now the desired report format is EmpId OrderId Acme's Profit Evolve's Profit ----- ------ ------------- --------------- 1 1 700 $ 700 $ 2 1 500 $ 500 $ 3 3 1000 $ 1000 $ I tried hard at the crosstab but I'm unable to figure out how to group the records. I tried moving CompanyName in CrossTab columns and moved EmpId in rows & tried a cross tab group but results are not as expected. My questions are 1) Is this format achievable with a cross tab ? 2) How do I group record's by EmpId's in my crosstab in such a way that the Companies are moved horizontally ?

  I have a quick MySQLi security related question... For example, take a look at this code (gets in put from the user, checks it against the database to see if the username/password combination exist): $input['user'] = htmlentities($_POST['username'], ENT_QUOTES); $input['pass'] = htmlentities($_POST['password'], ENT_QUOTES); // query db if ($stmt = $mysqli->prepare("SELECT * FROM members WHERE username=? AND password = ?")) { $stmt->bind_param("ss", $input['user'], md5($input['pass'] . $config['salt'])); $stmt->execute(); $stmt->store_result(); // check if there is a match in the database for the user/password combination if ($stmt->num_rows > 0) {} } In this case, I am using htmlentities() on the form data, and using a MySQLi prepared statement. Do I still need to be using mysql_real_escape_string()?

• XDocument holding onto Memory?

  I have an appplication that does a XDocument.Load from a 20mb file and then gets passed to a form to view its contents: openFileDialog1.FileName = ""; if (openFileDialog1.ShowDialog() == DialogResult.OK) { AuditFile = XDocument.Load(openFileDialog1.FileName); fmAuditLogViewer AuditViewer = new fmAuditLogViewer(); AuditViewer.ReportDocument = AuditFile; AuditViewer.Init(); AuditViewer.ShowDialog(); AuditViewer.Dispose(); AuditFile.RemoveNodes(); AuditFile = null; } In Task Manager I can see the memory being used by my application shoot up when I open this file. When I have finished viewing this file in my application I call : myXDocument.RemoveNodes(); myXDocument = null; However the memory use in Task Manager is still pretty high against my app. Is the XDocument still being held in memory and can I decrease the memory usage by my app?

• How do I stall until a SharePoint List Item is Deleted with SPLongOperation?

  I have a workflow, which creates a task and deletes it after the task is edited and its useful information acquired. I created a custom edit form for the task, so I have an SPLongOperation that I can use to stall the page. This is necessary, because if I don't stall the page in some fashion, the person will see the task in the task list for the minute moment before the workflow gets to delete the task, and that is bad. So some code to stall the page until the task is fully deleted is necessary. I have currently implemented a solution for this, but I am unsatisfied with the approach. It basically is summed up to a while loop that calls SPList.GetItemById until it throws an error. Delibrately attempting to cause an error doesn't sit well with me, but I cannot think of a faster method for checking this. I'm looking for alternatives that would preferably work faster if not as fast, and preferably without relying on catching exceptions. Thank you in advance!

• Global variable life in Javascript - destroyed on a reload?

  (I am learning Javascript) Problem: A page I am working on has 2 views, a data entry view with a textbox and a data rendering view. There is a a href src="currentpage#" link that switches between the 2 views. In order to transmit data from view to view, the javascript parses it from the current HTML and pushes it into the correct form for the other view. This is ugly and I want to refactor it out, ideally into some sort of global where it can be neatly rendered down into the view on command (I'm refactoring the code base to a point where I can AJAX it from a server). However, I am not certain about scoping rules and variable life in JS.

  Hi, I'm not sure how I would do this in Javascript. I want to create an array that would contain any number of error messages from my form. I read on websites that you define the key for that array when adding new entries. // Javascript var messages = new Array(); messages[0] = 'Message 1'; How can I add entries into my array using a similar method I normally do in PHP // PHP $messages = array(); $messages[] = 'Message 1'; // automatically assigned key 0 $messages[] = 'Message 2'; // automatically assigned key 1 Is it possible to emulate that in Javascript? • Passing hash as values in hidden_field_tag

  I am trying to pass some filters in my params through a form like so: hidden_field_tag "filters", params[:filters] For some reason the params get changed in the next page. For example, if params[:filters] used to be... "filters"={"name_like_any"=["apple"]} [1] ...it gets changed to... "filters"="{\"name_like_any\"=[\"apple\"]}" [2] note the extra quotations and backslashes in [2] when compared to [1]. Any ideas? I'm attempting to use this with searchlogic for some filtering, but I need it to persist when I change change objects in forms. I would prefer not to have to store it in session.

  Dear All, I have the following problem. I have a table in a db, with many columns. I can do different kind of select queries, to show, for example, for each record that satisfies a condition: all cells from columns with names ending in _t0 all cells from columns with names ending in _t1 ... To get the column lists to form the queries I use the information schema. Now, the problem: each query returns a record with a subset of the columns of the big table. This means that I can get a row of (all!) NULLs. How can I ask my query to reject such rows without having to type in explicitely the column names (i.e. by saying where col_1 is not null, col_2 is not null...)? Is it possible? Thanks in advance!!! I don't want to use primary key for the association (referencedColumnName). • Good piece of software that can manage the creation of complex web forms, including reporting, etc?

  I have some clients who are requesting for some of their reasonably complex paper-based forms to be converted in to web forms. There's straight Q&A text input stuff, there's questions based around checkboxes, radio boxes, select boxes, maybe the occasional attached image, there's data that has to be entered in a tabular fashion, etc. I am deciding whether I should build a "platform" with properly normalised tables to store all types of form data. But before that, I thought I had better check and see if there is anything like that already on the market. I am looking for a product that can: * Easily create web forms of all types * Store all data in a database * Extensive reporting capability I have had a bit of a look around but there's not a whole lot I can see. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

As an example I've got the following code: Where does the object "status.menueStatus" have to be defined in order to can be accessed with a dollar sign and braces. • My PHP login no longer works

  This page worked like a charm for years... enter the correspondng user id and password and you would be redirected to your directory. Now suddenly, all attempts to log in - valid or otherwise - result in the page remaining static... no message, no redirect, nothing. Nothing in the code has changed, it just plain doesn't work anymore. Could this be the result of some kind of change on the server side? Yeah, I know it's not super secure, but it was good enough for our purposes. I'm certainly open to better suggestions. I just need it to work... and keep working. Please be gentle! • Wrapping with Dependency Properties

  I've got a Windows Forms control that I'm wrapping with a WindowsFormsHost-derived class to access WPF's data binding functionality. The Forms control exposes properties that indicate its state, along with the standard property-changed event notifier. For example, a Zoom property on the Forms control is accompanied with a ZoomChanged event. In the WindowsFormsHost wrapper, I'm using a DependencyProperty to represent the underlying Windows Forms control property. Binding works as expected going to the control; however, I'm not sure how to correctly propogate property changes from the wrapped control back out to binding subscribers (i.e., the Windows Form control changes its Zoom property and raises the ZoomChanged event). Any ideas on how to accomplish this? Should I be using a different approach?

When i basically expand the configuration settings tree node. I see the "Foo" node, however the textbox is empty. This is the same for both text node, Until i actually click on the child node. • How do I stop image spam from being uploaded to my (future) site?

  I have in mind an idea for a generally accessible site that needs to allow images to be uploaded. But I'm stymied on how to prevent image spam: porn, ads in image form, etc. Assumptions: I'm assuming that the spammers are clever, even human. I'm skeptical of the efficacy of image analysis software. I do not have the resources to approve all uploads manually. I am willing to spend money on the solution -- within reason. This site will be location-aware, if that helps. How does Flickr do it or imgur? Or do they?

Even without any dojo elements. • Test wordpress sites for SQL Injection on siteurl

  I have a client who's wordpress sites have gotten hacked twice by iframe scammers. Each time they've injected iframe code into the content of the sites. This last time, today, they simply changed the siteurl in wp_options to their iframe code. The result was obvious and appeared to simply botch the paths of the scripts that rely on I can't determine if its a password compromise (on FTP or WordPress itself) or a SQL injection to alter siteurl. Since the only thing that was altered is siteurl, I'm thinking perhaps SQL Injection. What are your thoughts? Any way to scan a site for potential SQL injection vulnerabilities? The only active plugins on the site are contact form 7 and google xml sitemaps.

• Cleaning up nasty characters in PHP

  Hi folks, Got a little issue where my client is pasting in content from Word into my little text editor in a CMS. The double quotes are coming back encoded in what looks like some form of UTF. Any ideas if I can strip/replace these using PHP when they get displayed out of my mySQL table.   For some reason, I want to dump a table from a database (sqlite3) in the form of a csv file. I'm using a python script with elixir (based on sqlalchemy) to modify the database. I was wondering if there is any way to dump the table I use to csv. I've seen sqlalchemy serializer but it doesn't seem to be what I want. Am I doing it wrong? Should I call the sqlite3 python module after closing my sqlalchemy session to dump to a file instead? Or should I use something homemade?
