• How do I call exec in psake to an executable with a variable path?

  I can't seem to call this executable correctly in my psake deploy script. If I do this: exec { "$ArchiverOutputDir\NServiceBus.Host.exe /install" } It simply outputs this (and is clearly not calling the executable - just outputting the value of that expression): c:\ReloDotNet2_ServiceEndpoints\Archiver\NServiceBus.Host.exe /install But if I do this: exec { c:\ReloDotNet2_ServiceEndpoints\Archiver\NServiceBus.Host.exe /install } I get the expected output from the executable. How do I correctly call an executable with a variable in the path to the executable in psake? If this is actually a PowerShell issue, please feel free to correct the question to reflect that insight. Essentially I am trying to take the first column of a csv file and parse it to a new file. Here is what I have tried so far: awk -F"," '{print $1}' in.csv > out.txt awk -F"," '{for (i=2;i<=NF;i++)}' in.csv > out.txt awk -F"," 'BEGIN { OFS="," }' '{print $1}' in.csv > out.txt cat in.csv | cut -d \, -f 1 > out.txt None seem to work, either they just print the first line or nothing at all, so I would assume it's failing to read line by line.

• How do I get the name of the newest file via the Terminal?

  I'm trying to create a macro for Keyboard Maestro for OS X doing the following: Get name of newest file in a directory on my disk based on date created; Paste the text "newest file: " plus the name of the newest file. One of its options is to "Execute a shell script", so I thought that would do it for 1. After Googling around a bit I came up with this: cd /path/to/directory/ ls -t | head -n1 This sorts it right, and returns the first filename. However, it also seems to includes a line break, which I do not want. As for 2: I can output the text "newest file: " with a different action in the app, and paste the filename behind that. But I'm wondering if you can't return "random text" + the outcome of the ls command. So my question is: can I do this only using the ls command? And how do I get just the name of the latest file without any linebreaks or returns?

• NSSortDescriptor for NSFetchRequest sorting unexpectedly

  My entity has a property (sortOrder) that is of the type Decimal(NSDecimalNumber) but when I execute a fetch request using that property as a key, I get back results in a seemingly random order. If I output the value of the property I get really strange values until I get it's intValue. Example: The first run produces this result. The first value is the raw value of the property.   Hello, I reading some old ScottGu's blogs on Linq2SQL. Now I'm doing the SPROC part. I'd like to know what's the exact meaning of @variable. See this from ScottGu's Blog ALTER PROCEDURE dbo.GetCustomersDetails ( @customerID nchar(5), @companyName nvarchar(40) output ) AS SELECT @companyName = CompanyName FROM Customers WHERE CustomerID = @customerID SELECT * FROM Orders WHERE CustomerID = @customerID ORDER BY OrderID I'm kind of lost as, so far, I've though of anything preceded by a '@' as a placeholder for user input. But, in the example above, it looks like '@companyName' is used as a regular variable like in C# for instance (SELECT @companyName = ...). But, @companyName is not known yet. So, what the true nature a something preceded by a '@' like above? a vriable? a simple placeholder to accommodate user entered value? Thanks for helping

• How to debug a GWT application running on OSGi?

  I'm developing a web UI using GWT. While working only with the widgets I could debug from Eclipse using the Firefox extension, but now that I'm integrating the UI with other OSGi bundles I cannot use this solution. For deploying the GWT application I create the .war and convert it to an OSGi bundle using BND. Then I launch the OSGi container with all the bundles using Pax Runner and Pax Web and the application works correctly, but when something fails in the generated javascript code I don't have any decent output error or debugging facility. Is there any way to launch the GWT application in "debug mode" from OSGi? Any other idea that could help in this scenario?

  Hi, I'm trying to run mxmlc in the following manner. mxmlc -load-config+=mycfg.xml C:\\projects\\src\\main.mxml -output myswf.swf In the config file, I want to keep some values configurable, for example the paths of the external libraries. Is it possible to include a property file into the config file and use it as {property_name} in the config file? Or is it possible to pass certain arguments from the command line itself that will override/replace the corresponding values in the config file, like the -D option in the ant command?   I have tried checking out the mDNSResponder source from Apple's SVN host, with the thought of compiling it and tweaking it. This failed miserably. • How do you control what your C compiler Optimizes?

  I am writing the firmware for an embedded device in C using the Silicon Labs IDE and the SDCC compiler. The device architecture is based on the 8051 family. The function in question is shown below. The function is used to set the ports on my MCU to drive a stepper motor. It gets called in by an interrupt handler. The big switch statement just sets the ports to the proper value for the next motor step. The bottom part of the function looks at an input from a hall effect sensor and a number of steps moved in order to detect if the motor has stalled. The problem is, for some reason the second IF statement that looks like this if (StallDetector > (GapSize + 20)) { HandleStallEvent(); } always seems to get optimized out. If I try to put a breakpoint at the HandleStallEvent() call the IDE gives me a message saying "No Address Correlation to this line number". I am not really good enough at reading assembly to tell what it is doing but I have pasted a snippet from the asm output below. • Accurate Timings with Oscilloscopes on PC

  In the world of embedded software (firmware) it is fairly common to observe the order of events, take timings and optimise a program by getting it to waggle PIO lines and capturing their behavior on an oscilloscope. In days gone by it was possible to toggle pins on the serial and parallel ports to achieve much the same thing on PC-based software. This made it possible to capture host PC-based software events and firmware events on the same trace and examine host software/firmware interactions. Now, my new laptop ... no serial or parallel ports! This is increasingly the case. So, does anyone have any suggestions as to go about emitting accurate timing signals off a "modern" PC? It strikes me that we don't have any immediately programmable, lag-free output pins left. The solution needs to run off a laptop, so using add-on cards that only plug into desktops are not permitted.

• Drupal Views pulling Data Fields

  I'm a little new to drupal but have been using things like devel module and theme developer to speed up the learning process. My question, is it possible to theme an entire views BLOCK from a single views tpl.php page OR even a preprocess? When I'm grabbing the $view object I can see results $node-result, it has all of the results, but it doesn't have all my views fields. I'm missing things like, node path, taxonomy titles and paths, etc. From my understanding, Drupal wants you to individually theme EACH output field. It seems rather superfluous to create so many extra templates when I've already got over HALF of my results coming through the $view object Would outputting node over field make this easier? Or am going in the wrong direction with $view-result? Thanks!

• Debugging 500 Internal Server Error on PHP running on IIS7 cluster

  Recently my ISP switched our website to an IIS7.0 high availibility cluster. The website is running on PHP5.2.1 and I can only upload files (so no registry tweaks). I had tested the website before and everything seemed to be working, but now the checkout page fails with: 500 - Internal server error. There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. As error messages go, this isn't very informative. I've tried: ini_set('display_errors', 1); ini_set('error_log', $file_php_can_write_to ); but both don't seem to do anything. Anyone know how to get better debugging output?

• GnuPG Shell Script - Refuses to read password

  The script below used to work on Mac OS X, but, since moving it to Ubuntu, it doesn't seem to read from the password file at all. Even when I run it from the command line, no matter what I do, I get a popup prompt asking me for the password. As this will run via cron, I don't want this to happen... I want it to read the password from the file with no prompt.   Hi, I have this code in my controller and want to test this code line with a functional test. raise ActiveRecord::RecordNotFound if @post.nil? which assert method should I use? I use the built-in rails 2.3.5 test framework. I tried it with this code: test "should return 404 if page doesn't exist." do get :show, :url => ["nothing", "here"] assert_response :missing end but it doesn't work for me.   I would like to somehow apply a try catch statement to all Actions as a backstop for any uncaught exceptions. I think this would be particularly helpful for Ajax Actions, because the catch statement could send back a default 4xx status code. Prototype's onFailure() function could then do the client-side error handling. How can I do this without wrapping the Action call with a try/catch in the cake dispatcher like this: try { output = $controller->dispatchMethod($params['action'], $params['pass']); } catch {...} Does anybody have a suggestion or another workable strategy for gaining this functionality without touching the dispatcher? How do people feel about putting exception handling in the Displatcher? I imagine when cake drops php 4 support, there will be a built-in mechanism for this.

  I have been searching the web for some time for a solid FFmpeg wrapper for C#/.NET. But I have yet to come up with something useful. I have found the following three projects, but all of them apears to be dead in early alpha stage. FFmpeg.NET ffmpeg-sharp FFLIB.NET So my question is if anyone knows of a wrapper project that is more mature? I am not looking for a full transcoding engine with job queues and more. Just a simple wrapper so I do not have to make a command line call and then parse the console output, but can make method calls and use eventlisteners for progress. And please feel free to mention any active projects, even if they are stil in the early stages.

  Hi there. I'm trying to use XSL-stylesheets in order to transform some generated XML-data to HTML-output. The architecture that I'm using is as follows: [Client Side] Web-Browser = [Server Side: Glassfish v3] JSP-pages - Web-Services. My web service generates some XML-data, then I want to format it with XSL-stylesheet, pass the result to JSP-page and show to user. I'm using JAXP for XSL-transformations and I want to create a javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamSource object with XSL-file stream for the javax.xml.transform.Transformer object, but I'm having a difficulty with specifying the path/URL for the XSL-file. So the question is: where should I put my XSL-stylesheets in a project and how should I access them from code? I'm using Glassfish v3 and NetBeans 6.8. Thanks.

For example, I have: typedef struct Point3D { char id[50]; double x; double y; double z; } Point3D; The input and output functions are working properly. But the problem is the following: Every id of Point3D must be unique (and can be NULL), so I have decided to create an unique index on this field id, but is that possible? I'm thinking in something like this: create unique index test_point3d_idx on test_point3d (( getID(columname) )); where getID returns the field ID of columname. But I need to implement getID and I am really blocked. Any advice?
