• XSL-stylesheet URI using JAX-WS and Glassfish v3.

  Hi there. I'm trying to use XSL-stylesheets in order to transform some generated XML-data to HTML-output. The architecture that I'm using is as follows: [Client Side] Web-Browser = [Server Side: Glassfish v3] JSP-pages - Web-Services. My web service generates some XML-data, then I want to format it with XSL-stylesheet, pass the result to JSP-page and show to user. I'm using JAXP for XSL-transformations and I want to create a javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamSource object with XSL-file stream for the javax.xml.transform.Transformer object, but I'm having a difficulty with specifying the path/URL for the XSL-file. So the question is: where should I put my XSL-stylesheets in a project and how should I access them from code? I'm using Glassfish v3 and NetBeans 6.8. Thanks.

  Is there a way to walk-through a key and output all the values it contains? I though of it this way: <xsl:for-each select="key('kElement', '.')"> <li><xsl:value-of select="." /></li> </xsl:for-each> However, this does not work.   Hi guys, Is there a way to have treat google serach results as an rss feed? For example say I worked for stackoverflow and wanted to montior how if the results from the following search url: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=stackoverflow changes from day today. It would be cool if I could append &output=rss to the url and get back a feed like with google news. But that does not seem to be supported. Anyone have ideas?   I have a question related to mysql and python. This command works on the shell, but not when I use os.execvp() $./mysql -D test -e "show tables" +----------------+ | Tables_in_test | +----------------+ | sample | +----------------+ The corresponding piece of code in python would be def execute(): args = [] args.extend(sys.argv[1:]) args.extend([MYSQL, '-D test -e "show tables"']) print args os.execvp(args[0], args) child_pid = os.fork() if child_pid == 0: os.execvp(args[0], args) else: os.wait() The output of this is: [./mysql', '-D test -e "show tables"'] ERROR 1049 (42000): Unknown database ' test -e "show tables"' I am not sure if this is a problem with the python syntax or not.   In Mathematica I have a list: x = {1,2,3,3,4,5,5,6} How will I make a list with the duplicates? Like: {3,5} I have been looking at Lists as Sets, if there is something like Except[] for lists, so I could do: unique = Union[x] duplicates = MyExcept[x,unique] (Of course, if the x would have more than two duplicates - say, {1,2,2,2,3,4,4}, there the output would be {2,2,4}, but additional Union[] would solve this.) But there wasn't anything like that (if I did understand all the functions there well). So, how to do that?

  Wanted A command line HTML5 beautifier running under Linux. Input Garbled, ugly HTML5 code. Possibly the result of multiple templates. You don't love it, it doesn't love you. Output Pure beauty. The code is nicely indented, has enough line breaks, cares for it's whitespace. Rather than viewing it in a webbrowser, you would like to display the code on your website directly. Suspects tidy does too much (heck, it alters my doctype!), and it doesn't work well with HTML5. Maybe there is a way to make it cooperate and not alter anything? vim does too little. It only indents. I want the program to add and remove line breaks, and to play with the whitespace inside of tags. DEAD OR ALIVE!

  i have a form, and i want to have it be limited at 10 characters minimum. that is no problem, but what i want to do is echo the error at the top of the page, which is being included, so i cant just do: echo '<div class="error">Error</div>'; i want to have a designated div that is empty (will be on the included header page), but when there is an error it gets filled with the error text to output. anyone know how to do this not using sessions or cookies?

  Hey folks, CodeIgniter is brilliant but I'm using it to develop a site where users need to be able to share their code for websites. Unfortunately, CodeIgniter has been doing the "right" thing by removing <script> tags from my user's inputs into the database, so when it's returned data looks like this: [removed] User's data [removed] However, I need my site to DISPLAY script tags but obviously not PARSE them. How can I get CodeIgniter or PHP to return <script> tags, but still sanitise them for the database and return them without them executing? Thanks! • Malloc to a CGPoint Pointer throwing EXC_BAD_ACCESS when accessing

  I am trying to use a snippet of code from a Apple programming guide, and I am getting a EXC_BAD_ACCESS when trying to pass a pointer to a function, right after doing a malloc. (For Reference: iPhone Application Programming Guide: Event Handling - Listing 3-6) The code in question is really simple: CFMutableDictionaryRef touchBeginPoints; UITouch *touch; .... CGPoint *point = (CGPoint *)CFDictionaryGetValue(touchBeginPoints, touch); if (point == NULL) { point = (CGPoint *)malloc(sizeof(CGPoint)); CFDictionarySetValue(touchBeginPoints, touch, point); } Now when the program goes into the if statement it assigns the 'output' of malloc into the point variable/pointer. Then when it tries to pass point into the CFDictionarySetValue function it crashes the application with: Program received signal: “EXC_BAD_ACCESS”. Someone suggested not doing the malloc and pass the point var/pointer as: &point, however that still gave me a EXC_BAD_ACCESS. What I am (and it looks like Apple) doing wrong??? Thanks in advance.

  I watch some video and read articles about MVVM pattern and start thinking how should I implement it in my Silverlight app. So at first I create Silverlight application. I think that for clear view I create 3 folders: View - for each user control page in my app, ViewModel - for c# class which will querying date and Model- Entity Data Model of my SQL Server or Oracle Database. And now I am confused, cause I want to implement *WCF/RIA Services/Web services* in my project. In which folder should I put in class of services? I see in examples that Services take date and filtering it and then output data was binding in View - so It looks as ViewModel. But I was sure that someone use Services in Model and that I want to do. But how? Can someone explain me implementing Services as Model? Is my point of view at MVVM is correctly?

• Trying to execute netdom.exe from a ruby script or IRB does nothing

  I'm trying to write a script that will rename a computer and join it to a domain, and was planning to call on netdom.exe to do the dirty work. However, trying to run this utility in the script (same results in irb) does absolutely nothing. No output, no execution. I tried with backticks and with the system() method. System() returns false for everything but system("netdom") (which returns true). Backticks never return anything but an empty string. I have verified that netdom runs and works in the environment the script will be running in, and I'm calling other command-line utilities earlier in the script that work (w32tm, getmac, ping). Here's the exact line that gets executed: `netdom renamecomputer %COMPUTERNAME% /NewName:#{newname} /force` FYI, This is windows 7 x64

  I want to automate the process of plone3_buildout. Explanation: The default(the one I use) way of building a plone site is using paster, like so: paster create -t plone3_buildout This asks me a few questions and then create a default buildout for the site. What I want: I want to automate this process using buildout. My buildout will execute this paster command, feed in my preconfigured values to the paster. I haven't found a recipe which can do this. If someone has an idea of how to do this, please share the info. If there is a recipe which can feed values to interactive commands(with known output, like with plone3_buildout command), that would be useful too.

• Debugging segfault on swig/python/c++

  I am trying to figure out what the best way to debug a segault with swig/python/c++. A core file is being generated. I have a basic MessageFactory(defined in c++ that provides a simple interface to accept a few strings as input and return a string as output). This interface is then specified in a .i file. swig is used to generate Wrapper.cpp as well as a MessageFactory.py from the .i file. This along with supporting files is compiled into a dynamic lib. The point of failure , is when the MessageFactory is instantiated within python code. Any suggestions on how I can go about debugging this? I've tried running the script within pdb, what I know from that is import on the generated MessageFactory.py is whats causing the seg-fault.

  I'm having this issue whenever i run "gem install rails": usr/local/lib/ruby/1.9.1/yaml.rb:56:in `<top (required)>': It seems your ruby installation is missing psych (for YAML output). To eliminate this warning, please install libyaml and reinstall your ruby. ERROR: Loading command: install (LoadError) cannot load such file -- zlib ERROR: While executing gem ... (NameError) uninitialized constant Gem::Commands::InstallCommand Ruby and Rubygems were both installed from source. I've installed libyaml from source and from apt-get. I'm running ubuntu 12.04. I am NOT running RVM as far as I know (trying "rvm" returns "bla bla bla not installed apt-get". I'm pretty sure this speaks of 2 separate issues but I need solutions to both. Thanks.

  What is a fast hash function available for the iPhone to hash web urls (images)? I'd like to store the cached web image as a file with a hash as the filename, because I suppose the raw web url could contain strange characters that could cause problems on the file system. The hash function doesn't need to be cryptographic, but it definitely needs to be fast. Example: Input: http://www.calumetphoto.com/files/iccprofiles/icc-test-image.jpg Output: 3573ed9c4d3a5b093355b2d8a1468509 This was done by using MD5(), but since I don't know much about that topic I don't know if it is overkill (- slow).

  Yes, I know this subject has been covered before (here, here, here, here), but AFAIK, all solutions save one choke on a list like this: L = [[[1, 2, 3], [4, 5]], 6] where the desired output is [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6] or perhaps even better, an iterator. The only solution I saw that works for an arbitrary nesting is from @Alabaster Codify here: def flatten(x): result = [] for el in x: if hasattr(el, "__iter__") and not isinstance(el, basestring): result.extend(flatten(el)) else: result.append(el) return result flatten(L) So to my question: is this the best model?   I was just wondering how i would be able to code perform an SQL query and then place each row into a new array, for example, lets say a table looked like the following: $people= mysql_query("SELECT * FROM friends") Output: | ID | Name | Age | --1----tom----32 --2----dan----22 --3----pat----52 --4----nik----32 --5----dre----65 How could i create a multidimensional array that works in the following way, the first rows second column data could be accessed using $people[0][1] and fifth rows third column could be accessed using $people[4][2]. How would i go about constructing this type of array? Sorry if this is a strange question, its just that i am new to PHP+SQL and would like to know how to directly access data. Performance and speed is not a issue as i am just writing small test scripts to get to grips with the language.
