    - by Axel
    Hi, After doing a long search on stackoverflow i didn't find any one talked about this even if it's a big choice, the Question is what's the best in order to prevent both of XSS and SQL injection, Escaping the data then store it in the DB or Store it as it is and escape when output it? Note: it is better if you give some examples of practics if possible. Thanks

  • Drop shadow on a div container?

    - by Mike
    I have a searchbox with auto-suggest that pops a div up underneath it with multiple search string suggestions (like google). Is it possible to have drop shadow on the auto-suggest box with CSS or will I need a script of some sort? I tried a background image but the number of suggests can vary from 1 to 10 or 15. I'd prefer something that works in IE6+ and FF2+ if possible. Thanks!

  • Multiple Keybinding to a single command

    - by Veer
    My window has just a listview. This facilitates the users to incremental search the db. Since the design does not have a textbox, i've to globally handle the keys. I think it could be achieved by keybinding. But how can i handle all the keys and associate it to a single command. Also suggest me other methods if any.

  • Multiple SiteMap: entries in robots.txt?

    - by user306942
    I have been searching around using Google but I can't find an answer to this question. A robots.txt file can contain the following line: Sitemap: http://www.mysite.com/sitemapindex.xml but is it possible to specify MULTIPLE sitemap index files in the robots.txt and have the search engines recognize that and crawl ALL of the sitemaps referenced in each sitemap index file? For example, will this work: Sitemap: http://www.mysite.com/sitemapindex1.xml Sitemap: http://www.mysite.com/sitemapindex2.xml Sitemap: http://www.mysite.com/sitemapindex3.xml

  • Find all files in iphone project

    - by rayjohannessen
    I'm curious if there's a way to search for files in the iPhone's directory ( the location is irrelevant). I am wanting to load in addresses from text files. The thing is additional files may be added and I want to dynamically be able to find the files and load in the data without hardcoding the file names to load in. Thanks a bunch!

  • Django approximate matching of unicode strings with ascii equivalents

    - by c
    I have the following model and instance: class Bashable(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=100) >>> foo = Bashable.objects.create(name=u"piñata") Now I want to be able to search for objects, but using ascii characters rather than unicode, something like this: >>> Bashable.objects.filter(name__lookslike="pinata") Is there a way in Django to do this sort of approximate string matching, using ascii stand-ins for the unicode characters in the database? Here is a related question, but for Apple's Core Data.

  • Is there a definitive guide for special folders in windows?

    - by the-locster
    Is there a definitive guide for special folders in windows? An internet search yielded just a few crumbs of information, e.g. Wikipedia:Special Folders Windows 7 Client Software Logo Program What I'm looking for is an explanation of each folder, its intended purpose, usage scenarios and motivation for its existence (e.g. what does Local App settings provide for that App settings doesn't). A matrix/table of requirements/uses against folder would be handy I think.

  • Attributes don't inherit?

    - by Stebi
    I played with attributes and assumed that they are inherited but it doesn't seem so: type [MyAttribute] TClass1 = class end; TClass2 = class(TClass1) end; TClass2 doesn't have the Attribute "MyAttribute" although it inherits from Class1. Is there any possibility to make an attribute inheritable? Or do I have to go up the class hierarchy and search for attributes?

  • What was the single byte change to port WordStar from CP/M to DOS?

    - by amarillion
    I was re-reading Joel's Strategy Letter II: Chicken and Egg problems and came across this fun quote: In fact, WordStar was ported to DOS by changing one single byte in the code. (Real Programmers can tell you what that byte was, I've long since forgotten). I couldn't find any other references to this with a quick Google search. Is this true or just a figure of speech? In the interest of my quest to become a "Real Programmer", what was the single byte change?

  • jQuery find text and replace (or BBcode hack)

    - by Harvengure
    Basically I am attempting to use jQuery so that it will search out text on the page and replace it with something else. For example [x]text[/x] will be converted to text which then gets converted from text to the actual html...a round about way of it I am sure but it seems to be the best way to do it given that the forum seems to understand html as plain texst anyway...but ultimately the goal is to use this jQuery to in a way create new bbcode on the forum.

  • Greasemonkey is getting an empty document.body on select Google pages.

    - by Brock Adams
    Hi, I have a Greasemonkey script that processes Google search results. But it's failing in a few instances, when xpath searches (and document body) appear to be empty. Running the code in Firebug's console works every time. It only fails in a Greasemonkey script. Greasemonkey sees an empty document.body. I've boiled the problem down to a test, greasemonkey script, below. I'm using Firefox 3.5.9 and Greasemonkey 0.8.20100408.6 (but earlier versions had the same problem). Problem: Greasemonkey sees an empty document.body. Recipe to Duplicate: Install the Greasemonkey script. Open a new tab or window. Navigate to Google.com (http://www.google.com/). Search on a simple term like "cats". Check Firefox's Error console (Ctrl-shift-J) or Firebug's console. The script will report that document body is empty. Hit refresh. The script will show a good result (document body found). Note that the failure only reliably appears on Google results obtained this way, and on a new tab/window. Turn javascript off globally (javascript.enabled set to false in about:config). Repeat steps 2 thru 5. Only now the Greasemonkey script will work. It seems that Google javascript is killing the DOM tree for greasemonkey, somehow. I've tried a time-delayed retest and even a programmatic refresh; the script still fails to see the document body. Test Script: // // ==UserScript== // @name TROUBLESHOOTING 2 snippets // @namespace http://www.google.com/ // @description For code that has funky misfires and defies standard debugging. // @include http://*/* // ==/UserScript== // function LocalMain (sTitle) { var sUserMessage = ''; //var sRawHtml = unsafeWindow.document.body.innerHTML; //-- unsafeWindow makes no difference. var sRawHtml = document.body.innerHTML; if (sRawHtml) { sRawHtml = sRawHtml.replace (/^\s\s*/, ''). substr (0, 60); sUserMessage = sTitle + ', Doc body = ' + sRawHtml + ' ...'; } else { sUserMessage = sTitle + ', Document body seems empty!'; } if (typeof (console) != "undefined") { console.log (sUserMessage); } else { if (typeof (GM_log) != "undefined") GM_log (sUserMessage); else if (!sRawHtml) alert (sUserMessage); } } LocalMain ('Preload'); window.addEventListener ("load", function() {LocalMain ('After load');}, false);

  • How to get parameter after "/" in URL in PHP

    - by Lucifer
    I need to let my users type anything at the end of my url, like this: http://mysite.com/?somethingorother or http://mysite.com/somethingorother And then I would like to get that last bit that they added to the end of the url like so: $var = $_POST['']; But I'm not sure how to go about this, and I can't find anything, because I'm not quite sure how to search for it. • MVC Bootstrap: Autocomplete doesn't show properly

    - by kicked11
    I have a MVC website and it had a searchbox with autocomplete, now I changed the layout using bootstrap. But now the autocomplete isn't been shown correctly anymore. See the picture the suggestions are not shown right. the autocomplete goes through the text. I was fine before I used bootstrap. I am using a SQL server to get the data and this is js file (I'm not good at ajax, i took it from a tutorial I followed) $(function () { var ajaxFormSubmit = function () { var $form = $(this); var options = { url: $form.attr("action"), type: $form.attr("method"), data: $form.serialize() }; $.ajax(options).done(function (data) { var $target = $($form.attr("data-aptitude-target")); var $newHtml = $(data); $target.replaceWith($newHtml); $newHtml.show("slide", 200); }); return false; }; var submitAutocompleteForm = function (event, ui) { var $input = $(this); $input.val(ui.item.label); var $form = $input.parents("form:first"); $form.submit(); }; var createAutocomplete = function () { var $input = $(this); var options = { source: $input.attr("data-aptitude-autocomplete"), select: submitAutocompleteForm }; $input.autocomplete(options); }; $("form[data-aptituder-ajax='true']").submit(ajaxFormSubmit); $("input[data-aptitude-autocomplete]").each(createAutocomplete); }); this is the form in my view <form method="get" action="@Url.Action("Index")" data-aptitude-ajax="true" data-aptitude-target="#testList"> <input type="search" name="searchTerm" data-aptitude-autocomplete="@Url.Action("Autocomplete")" /> <input type="submit" value=Search /> And this is part of the controller of the view public ActionResult Autocomplete(string term) { var model = db.tests .Where(r => term == null || r.name.Contains(term)) .Select(r => new { label = r.name }); return Json(model, JsonRequestBehavior.AllowGet); } // // GET: /Test/ public ActionResult Index(string searchTerm = null) { var model = db.tests .Where(r => searchTerm == null || r.name.StartsWith(searchTerm)); if (Request.IsAjaxRequest()) { return PartialView("_Test", model); } return View(model); } I'm new to ajax as well as bootstrap 3. I got the searchfunction and autocomplete from a tutorial I followed. Anybody any idea on how to fix this, because it worked fine? Thanks in advance!
