  I am trying to have people be able to open HTML widgets by clicking on a button in my Joomla page. All the widgets are different sizes. The code is entered as HTML in Jumi. Currently I have the action set to: "On click open in new window without browser navigation." The problem is this this always opens in a full screen size with the widget showing up in a corner. How do I control the size of this new window for each widget? Thanks

  Hello everyone, I am debugging codeplex simple project = http://www.codeplex.com/sl2videoplayer. I am using VSTS 2008 + C# + Windows Vista x86 Enterprise. I have not modified any code of this codeplex project, and just press F5 to run VideoPlayerWeb project. The current issue I met with is error message -- "Unable to connect to ASP.Net Development Server". Here is my screen snapshots when clicking F5.   I fixed one controller action in my application that doesn’t seemed good enough for me. It wasn’t big move I did but worth to show to beginners how nice code you can write when using correct layering in your application. As an example I use code from my posting ASP.NET MVC: How to implement invitation codes support. Problematic controller action Although my controller action works well I don’t like how it looks. It is too much for controller action in my opinion. We have working functionality in wrong place and we should do something about it. Service layer I add layers to my application very carefully because I don’t like to use hand grenade to kill a fly. When I see real need for some layer and it doesn’t add too much complexity I will add new layer. Right now it is good time to add service layer to my small application. Controller Now all the code is moved to service layer and we need also some modifications to controller code so it makes use of users service. I don’t show here DI/IoC details about how to give service instance to controller. GetAccess() action of controller looks like this right now. In the case of error user is shown access code claiming view with error message that ClaimAccessCode() method returns as output parameter. If everything goes fine then access code is reserved for current user and user is authenticated. Conclusion When controller action grows big you have to move code to layers it actually belongs. In this posting I showed you how I moved access code claiming functionality from controller action to user service class that belongs to service layer of my application. As the result I have controller action that coordinates the user interaction when going through access code claiming process. Controller communicates with service layer and gets information about how access code claiming succeeded.

• Cocos2D, UIScrollView, and initial placement of a scene

  Hello: I am using a UIScrollView to forward touches to Cocos2D as outlined in http://getsetgames.com/2009/08/21/cocos2d-and-uiscrollview/ Everything works great after a few days of working with it, except one thing: when the initial view appears on the screen, the background appears to be scrolled to the center. As soon as I try to scroll around, the image jumps to 0,0, and everything works as normal, except the touches are offset by half the width and height of the background image. Am I overlooking something basic? I can't think of a useful portion of the code that illustrates the issue, as I can't track it down, but would be happy to post code if anyone has any ideas. • Why is Standard Input is not displayed as I type in Mac OS X Terminal application?

  I'm confused by some behavior of my Mac OS X Terminal and my Django manage.py shell and pdb. When I start a new terminal, the Standard Input is displayed as I type. However, if there is an error, suddenly Standard Input does not appear on the screen. This error continues until I shut down that terminal window. The Input is still being captured as I can see the Standard Output. E.g. in pdb.set_trace() I can 'l' to display where I'm at in the code. However, the 'l' will not be displayed, just an empty prompt. This makes it hard to debug because I can't determine what I'm typing in. What could be going wrong and what can I do to fix it?

• iPad UIColor Saturation Issues

  I am trying to draw a UIColor on the screen of a view-based app, and I am trying to do so using HSB. It is absolutely necessary for me to use HSB in this case. I can create a UIColor object with any S value from 0.0f to 0.75f, but past that the numerical changes have no effect on the actual saturation displayed. I need it to be 1.0f, but it is still using 0.75f. Any ideas on why it is doing that, and how I can make it work?

  I have a MVC app with quite a few Controller Actions that are called using Ajax (jQuery) and return partial views content which updates a part of the screen. But what I would rather do is return JSON something like this. return Json(new { Result = true, Message = "Item has been saved", Content = View("Partial") }); Where the HTML is just a property of the Json. What this means is I need to retrieve the HTML that is rendered by the View method. Is there any easy way to do this, a few examples I have seen are quite convoluted. Edit: This question was originally for ASP.NET MVC 1, but if version 2 makes it easier I would like to hear the answer.

• Perl file test operator help

  This is a really basic issue, but I'm new to perl and cannot work out what the issue is. I'm just trying to isolate the files in a directory, but the -d operator keeps treating all the folder contents as files ... @contents is my array, and when I run this: foreach $item(@contents) { if (-d $item) { next; } print"$item is a file\n"; } I keep getting both folders and files. • Generated Word 2007 prints scrunched up

  Our website generates Word 2007 documents from database data by creating the xml, zipping it and sending it as a MIME attachment. Usually, this works fine. On occasion, the document will look fine on the screen, but not when printed. The letters end up scrunched together. Here is an example. This is a 1 page document, the first page is a scan of the document printed correctly, the 2nd page is a scan of the same document printed with the problem. Here is the original document. Has anyone ever seen anything similar? I cannot figure out if this is a bug in the code that generates our XML, a bug in the printer driver or a bug in Word. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Please note that this document does not contain any real data other than public information, but disregard the contents - this is not an official document, and only meant to illustrate our problem.

• iPad/iPod: autoRotate resizes view in window

  Developing an iPad interface, I have a scenario where I have a UIViewController which manages a view that gets placed directly as a subview of the main UIWindow. Before being placed in the UIWindow, that view gets resized to a non-standard size, let's say, 768x460, and positioned at the bottom of the screen. When rotating the device, the autoRotate feature of the UIViewController causes the view to be resized so that it fills the entire UIWindow space. I thought this might be because in the XIB, the view is set to window size, but when I changed it to reflect the desired size, it still expanded it to the window size. Then I went into the MainWindow XIB and turned off autoresizeSubviews, and it still happens. This is a very frustrating problem, I am hoping that there is merely something obvious that I am missing out on. Anyone have any bright ideas?

• Scaled live iPhone Camera view in center, "CGAffineTransformTranslate" not working

  Hi, I have a little problem which I could not solve. I really hope someone can help me with that. I wanted to resize the live camera view and place it in the center, using the following code below: picker.cameraViewTransform = CGAffineTransformScale(picker.cameraViewTransform, 0.5, 0.56206); picker.cameraViewTransform = CGAffineTransformTranslate(picker.cameraViewTransform, 80, 120); But all I got was a scaled 1/2 sized view on the top left of the screen. It seems as though "CGAffineTransformTranslate" does nothing at all. The translation didn't work even when I used: picker.cameraViewTransform = CGAffineTransformMake(1, 0, 0, 1, 80, 120); The translation portion seems to have no effect on the live camera view.   G'Day, I am looking to prototype a windows based GUI. Ideally I would like: Be able create new GUI's and change existing ones quickly The resulting "thing" to be self contained Have the ability to include limited data where necessary ie. When showing a grid including the headers and perhaps a few rows of data for the grid. Allow clickable hotspots that either allow a new screen to be shown or perhaps an explanation hint. I have been using Visio 2003 for this kind of thing and then producing a PDF. However it has some disadvantages: Including data for grids is not possible You cannot include hotspots to allow changing of tabs within the workbook. eg Click on a button and it opens a different tab. If possible a free / open source application would be preferable but a low priced commercial application would also be good. All pointers and suggestions greatly appreciated.Rapid

• Red5 OflaDemo Missing Java App

  Hi All. I'm trying to run an application on Red5 server. It has the same basic functionality as the bundled demo named OFLADemo. So I installed Red5 and was able to see the welcome screen. I installed an app and tried the demo flash and all went well... But when I tried to install that particular application from /installer I got stuck with a dialog box with this message: installing oflaDemo-r3989-java6.war This may take a couple minutes, please wait. Waited for hours instead of minutes, but nothing happened. I was able to get that specific file from google code, but I don't know where to extract/place it. Any clues?

  I have an OpenGL project that is a universal project for iPhone/iPad. Basically it is just rendering simple models to the screen. It works great with no OpenGL errors on the iPhone device and iPad simulator. On the iPad device however, i get an OpenGL error and nothing renders. 1282 GL_INVALID_OPERATION immediately after calling [context renderbufferStorage:GL_RENDERBUFFER_OES fromDrawable:layer]; I can't seem to come up with any reason for this. Any help?

However I am needing some guidance on how opengl es view and the other views play together nice. For example I have read some things that would lead me to think I need to pause the opengl view when the table is displayed. • Loop through all subclasses in an Android view?

  I’m working on a game for Android. To help implement it, my idea is to create a subclass of a view. I would then insert several instances of this class as children of the main view. Each instance would handle detecting when it was pressed (via OnTouchListener). The problem I’m having now is how do I loop through all these sub-views so I can read their statuses and process them? (I.e. when they all reach a certain state something should happen). Or is there a better way to have several objects on the screen that respond to touch and whose status I can check?

I'm writing an application for android 2.2 and I'm using a gallery to circulate through a list of images that the user can then click to navigate other portions of the application. In portrait orientation, everything is kosher: the images are displaying correctly (completely in the center of the screen as I intended); however, in landscape orientation, all the images in the gallery are strangely displaced a fixed distance to the left of the center of the screen. • translation/rotation of a HUD against a camera using vectors in Euclidian 3D space

  i've got 2 points in 3D space: the camera position and the camera lookAt. the camera movement is restricted akin to typical first person shooter games. you can move the cam freely, tilt horizontally and up to 90 degrees vertically, but not roll. so now i want to draw a HUD to the screen, on which i can move the mouse freely, with the position of the cursor correctly translating into 3D space. the easy part was to draw something directly in front of the camera. V0 = camPos; V1 = lookAt; V2 = lookAt-camPos; normalize V2; mutiply V2 according to camera frustum V3 = V0+V2 draw something at V3 now the part i don't get: i could use V3 and add to that the rotations of the cam combined with the x/y of the mouse cursor, somehow, right? that's what i want.
