  • compare windows server for patch/update/hotfix installs

    Are there any tools that can be used to connect to windows 2008 servers, and get a comparison of the installed patches/updates on the servers, showing what is installed on one and not on the other? This is to help isolate an issue we are seeing on a specific windows server, in a load balanced setup. There is a certain performance/locking issue, which is mitigated whenever one of the servers is disabled. Please share, if you have any suggestions. Thanks in advance!

    Suddenly my machine not working under run level 5 and it seems to be problem with xserver and it is saying that "in last 90 seconds xserver restarted 6 times and unable to start" and then just giving blank screen.So i changed the run level to 3 and using startx command i am managing to work now.can any one help me on this.......?

    I'm running a dual boot configuration on my laptop using Ubuntu 10.04b and Windows 7 Home Premium. Windows 7 was the original OS and I added a 'side by side' installation of Ubuntu. Ubuntu, however, shows up first on the list. I'd like to change this order and make Windows 7 first, followed by Ubunutu, then all of the recovery boots after that. Any help on how this is done?

    I installed oracle in my own machine from about two years, but I stopped some oracle services from about seven months. Now I tried to start them again and open the oracle db but I couldn't make a connection, the OracleDBConsoleORCL service cannot be started although it was not one of the services that I stopped, it was starting automatically! I tried to make it manually started and start it again but the problem didn't be solved. Could someone help me?

    Hi I've just finished installing Visual Studio 2010 professional onto Vista. But don't seem to have Silverlight 4. If I try to create a new project I can see Silverlight project templates but only seem to be able to target Silverlight 3. Is Silverlight 4 not part of vs2010 pro by default? I also noticed the msbuild targets is missing ie the v4.0 folder doesn't exist at the following folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\Silverlight\ Any help/thoughts would be much appreciated. I had the drivers for windows in a .pkg file and didnt realise it won't install them in windows. I am totally stuck with a half usefull windows system, any help would be greatly appricatet.     What is the best way for me to migrate my VMWare Fusion Bootcamp Partition to a new MAC. Preferably I would like to import the current bootcamp partition in as a strict virtual machine on the new mac, instead of in bootcamp. The "older mac" is about two years old, so I don't think there will be any compatibility issues, but i do not have enough disc space on the old machine to import it as a virtual machine, and then migrate it.     i following the tutorial of the http://www.howtoforge.com/mirror-your-web-site-with-rsync-on-fedora-10 i have completely step by step following the instructions and setup the key, script my problem is when i use server1 to type the command , it still prompt me for password. then i look the /var/log/secure, i 've found the message Authentication tried for root with correct key but not from a permitted host (host=123132132312.static.ctinets.com, ip=20x.80.236.xxx). can anyone help?

  • Can a PCI Graphics card, and AGP be used together? [closed]

    The question pretty much says it all. I use an old 845GBV board ( to-date reliant upon the integrated graphics processor ). All slots on the board are unused. Lately I've been thinking in terms changing it to a dual monitor so that I can use one console for documentation/help/sample code/whatever, the other one to play with code. Assuming this board can handle a PCI GPU, can an AGP4x board coexist with a PCI GPU?
