  • How to change the order of OS's on my boot screen on a dual boot setup?

    I'm running a dual boot configuration on my laptop using Ubuntu 10.04b and Windows 7 Home Premium. Windows 7 was the original OS and I added a 'side by side' installation of Ubuntu. Ubuntu, however, shows up first on the list. I'd like to change this order and make Windows 7 first, followed by Ubunutu, then all of the recovery boots after that. Any help on how this is done?

    I am trying to paste HTML into powerpoint 2007. Everything works ok except that I lose the color of the text and the font. I am using the paste special method selecting html. Now I have read that some people have fixed the color loss problem by setting a color printer as their default. But that does not seem to be working for me nor would it fix the font.   • Silverlight 4 missing from Visual Studio 2010

    Hi I've just finished installing Visual Studio 2010 professional onto Vista. But don't seem to have Silverlight 4. If I try to create a new project I can see Silverlight project templates but only seem to be able to target Silverlight 3. Is Silverlight 4 not part of vs2010 pro by default? I also noticed the msbuild targets is missing ie the v4.0 folder doesn't exist at the following folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\Silverlight\ Any help/thoughts would be much appreciated.     Suddenly my machine not working under run level 5 and it seems to be problem with xserver and it is saying that "in last 90 seconds xserver restarted 6 times and unable to start" and then just giving blank screen.So i changed the run level to 3 and using startx command i am managing to work now.can any one help me on this.......?

    I've tried everything but I can't get MacBook 1,1 (which was running leopard) to boot os x after installing windows 7. I had the drivers for windows in a .pkg file and didnt realise it won't install them in windows. I am totally stuck with a half usefull windows system, any help would be greatly appricatet. Note: I've tried every startup command (ie hold x, hold option, hold c)with no joy, my head is wrecked

  • Migrating VMWare Fusion Bootcamp Partition to New Mac

    What is the best way for me to migrate my VMWare Fusion Bootcamp Partition to a new MAC. Preferably I would like to import the current bootcamp partition in as a strict virtual machine on the new mac, instead of in bootcamp. The "older mac" is about two years old, so I don't think there will be any compatibility issues, but i do not have enough disc space on the old machine to import it as a virtual machine, and then migrate it.     I installed oracle in my own machine from about two years, but I stopped some oracle services from about seven months. Now I tried to start them again and open the oracle db but I couldn't make a connection, the OracleDBConsoleORCL service cannot be started although it was not one of the services that I stopped, it was starting automatically!     If I get the fully qualified computer name on a Windows server (2K3 or 2K8) using the GetComputerNameEx() API call, can I rely on that name to be unique on that particular domain? That is, can I assume that only a single active physical or virtual machine will have that fully qualified name at a given time? As a second question: is it guaranteed that all Windows machines will have such a fully-qualified name? Thanks for any help.
