    Im trying to make a program that captures a video from the webcam and sound from the microphone but im getting stuck at the part where ive try to make a movie out of still images ive heard you need to use directshow but it doesnt jet work for me Does someone know a good piece of example code that captures video and sound and can encode it to a file (divx or something like that) ? or some suggestions where to look so i can build it myself (if a other programming language is better for this im happy to know it early. )

  • Handling scroll event on listview in c#

    I have a listview that generates thumbnail using a backgroundworker. When the listview is being scrolled i want to pause the backgroundworker and get the current value of the scrolled area, when the user stopped scrolling the listview, resume the backgroundworker starting from the item according to the value of the scrolled area. Is it possible to handle scroll event of a listview? if yes how? if not then what is a good alternative according to what i described above?

  • MySQL - Calculate the net time difference between two date-times while excluding breaks?

    In a MySQL query I am using the timediff/time_to_sec functions to calculate the total minutes between two date-times. For example: 2010-03-23 10:00:00 - 2010-03-23 08:00:00 = 120 minutes What I would like to do is exclude any breaks that occur during the selected time range. For example: 2010-03-23 10:00:00 - 2010-03-23 08:00:00 - (break 08:55:00 to 09:10:00) = 105 minutes Is there a good method to do this without resorting to a long list of nested IF statements?

I was first thinking about the SharedPreferences, but then it's saved in the flash memory, which isn't that good for a password, I guess. I'm unsure, what's the best way.     Does anyone know of a good way to encrypt and decrypt strings using VB6 to ensure sensitive data is secure? Also, is there an encryption method that can be shared between VB6 and .NET? Example: The encrypted string will be written to a database using a VB6 application, but the value also need to be read an decrypted in a c# .net application using the .net framework if possible.     Hi, I write a little ruby script, which sends me an email when a new commit added to our svn. I get the log with this code: log = `/usr/bin/svnlook log #{ARGV[0]}` When I run my script from bash I get good encoded character in the email, but when I try it and create a new commit I get wrong hungarian characters. I commited this: tes oéá I get this in the email: Log: tes ?\197?\145?\195?\169?\195?\161 How can I solve this issue?

While I can use this perfectly as a shell script (even without a shebang) in my .zshrc the error is a parse error on this line if [[ ! ${git_status}}... What do I need to do to get it ready for zshell? Edit: The "actual error" I'm getting is " parse error near } and it refers to the line with the strange double }}, which works on Bash.   • What's the best way to tell if the mouse is over a form or not?

    I figured out how to capture mouse clicks over the entire form, but this method doesn't translate well for MouseEnter and MouseLeave. My form layout is made up from many Panels and TableLayoutPanels so there's no all-encompassing control I can monitor events for, and obviously a MouseLeave event for a button doesn't mean the cursor left the entire form. Has anyone figured out a good way to get around this?

    Say I have: @property (nonatomic,retain) NSString *foo; in some class. And I call: myclass.foo = [NSString stringWithString:@"string1"]; myclass.foo = [NSString stringWithString:@"string2"]; Should I have called [myclass.foo release] before setting it to "string2" to avoid a memory leak? Or the fact that nothing is pointing to the first "string1" object anymore is good enough? And in the dealloc method [foo release] will be called.

    I am going to use forms authentication but I want to be able to link the asp.net users to some tables in the db for example If I have a class and students (as roles) I'll have a class students table. I'm planning to put in a Users table containing a simple int userid and ASP.NET username in there and put userid wherever I want to link the users. Does that sound good? any other options of modeling this? it does sound a bit convoluted?

I was thinking of implementing an AlertDialog but as I need more than 3 options it is not possible...
