• SharePoint's CAML query the "Created By" field with username

  Hey, I have a form for administrators where they insert a user name ("domain\name") and the code gets and sets some information out of it. It's a huge project and some of the lists contain the username as a string ("domain\name"), but some lists only count on the "Created By" column, which is auto-created. I want to know what's the fastest way to query these lists using the username string. I tried to use the same query as the one I use for the first kind of lists and it obviously didn't work - <Where><Eq><FieldRef Name='UserName'/><Value Type='Text'>domain\\username</Value></Eq></Where> Thank you.

• JsonResult shows up a file download in browser

  I'm trying to use jquery.Ajax to post data to an ASP.NET MVC2 action method that returns a JsonResult. Everything works great except when the response gets back to the browser it is treated as a file download instead of being passed into the success handler.   I have an XForm that has certain fields that may often be left blank (optional street address). Is there is technique to set a default value for that field, preferably a space (I am running into weird formatting issues with CSS). The html form way of value="" doesn't work, neither does setting a default value in the XML schema. Treeview shows all folders. if user clicked on treenode their files all displayed in gridview. If user checked some files and selects another node and return back it should display checked files as it is. How do i maintain grid-view checked-box column status..? One more query If i checked specific node it should checked all rows of a gridview.

• Select Box not filling properly in rails

  I am creating a select box for a form using this in _form.html.erb <%= f.select(:category_id,options_for_select(@cats)) %> @cats is an array created in my controller like this: @cats = [] categories.each do |c| @cats.push([c.full_name,c.id]) end The select box is properly filled, and the selected foreign key is even properly saved to the database. The problem is, when I come back in my edit action, the select box is moved back to the first item in the list, not the one corresponding to category_id. Reading the documentation it seems like this should just magically work. How do I get it to select the proper value?

  I upgraded to Visual Studio 2010 RC, and I remember filling one big form for MSDN help improvement campaign and I was wondering I will get to see a Help Viewer like MSDN included in Visual Studio 2008, which included One Program (Not IE), Index and the way to view preferred language setting. Google results shows that there were headlines that Microsoft Help Viewer released for 2010 RC, but where is it? is it the same one which opens in IE and has absolute difficult way to view it? Current MSDN opening in IE is so inconvenient, there is no index, there is no grouping of content, like I typed search for TextBox and it showed up for ASP.NET, WinForms and I got lost to find out the reference in multiple pages for search results.

I am using xml source nad oledb destination My issue now is this xml file generate multiple outputs .(event,produt,offer,form) etc. But i need to write all in one data row(more than one if 2 products are there for the event) in the database. But i do not know how to use this multiple outputs and make a single row for a event. I hav read numerous articles about this subject but not able to take a decision.what is the right way of doing this. 1) xml source ? • .Net Array or IList<T> from NumPy array in IronPython?

  Imagine I have a .Net application that supports user extensions in the form of Python modules by embedding IronPython. Using Ironclad, I can allow users to make use of the NumPy and SciPy packages from within their modules. How good is the interop provided by Ironclad? My question is: can I use a NumPy array of type T provided by the user's module in the rest of my app that requires an IList<T>? Edit To clarify, IronPython exposes any Python enumerable of objects of type T as an IEnumerable<T> or an IList<T>. I'm not sure if NumPy arrays fit in this category. I would rather not have to call .tolist() on the NumPy array as the arrays may be quite large.

  Hi, I've a big GWT module which comprised of many java classes (& of course it's impossible to break it down into several modules). My GWT application consists of some forms, but the users usually work only with a few of them, anyway they should be abale to open any form as they need. Now my problem its that gwt generates a big js file that will load each time, but most of its content may never use! Is there any way to break the big js module file into several smaller files(for example, one file for each class) & gwt load them automatically as needed ?

• How to make TWebBrowser ignore accelerator chars of others controls?

  I have a TWebBrowser placed on a form with the designMode enabled. Bellow the browser I have a close button with the Caption set to 'Clos&e'. When I am editing the contents of a document inside the WebBrowser and I press the key E the button close is called. It appears that it is treating TWebBrowser like other controls that don't handle keys and/or don't accept chars (e.g. TButton). How can I solve this? Thanks in advance.

• Use php to zip large files

  Hi, I have a php form that has a bunch of checkboxes that all contain links to files. Once a user clicks on which checkboxes (files) they want, it then zips up the files and forces a download. I got a simple php zip force download to work, but when one of the files is huge or if someone lets say selects the whole list to zip up and download, my server errors out. I understand that I can increase the server size, but are there any other ways? Thanks!

  I am working on a simple .Net 4.0 webservice. I created one method, which accepts a string input. I run the project in Debug mode so a page opens in my browser where I can enter an input and invoke the method of the service. • Is there a workaround to Safari's/Opera's bug that you can't tab through hyperlinks?

  In IE, Firefox, Chrome and most Windows-based interfaces that I've used, the Tab key can be used to navigate from one form field or hyperlink to the next (e.g. "actionable" items) (note: I have not tested on other Operating Systems) However Safari and Opera skip all hyperlinks in a web page when tabbing. IMHO its a usability bug but I digress. Is there a workaround/hack to make Safari and/or Opera navigate through these links? I've noticed that Opera will accept the tabindex attribute if set e.g. tabindex="0" thus maintaining the links "index" within the flow of the DOM on the page... but Safari does not want to accept this. For those interested, this bit of jQuery will make all the hyperlinks clickable. //Make links 'tab-able' in Opera $(document).ready(function(){ if($.browser.opera){ $('a[href]').attr('tabindex', 0); } }); ...and although this seems to work for Opera... is there a better workaround?

Some text in the page can be selected. This text is composed of one or more DOM elements. When button1 is clicked, I want to retrieve the DOM elements that compose the selected text in the page and give an id to one of those elements and save add these ids to a list (in C# space). • Paypal subscription API - transaction variables not POSTed

  I am writing a payments system based around paypal, I am using the HTML 'API'. I am passing the following form fields to PayPal: 'rm' = 2 'return = http://www.example.com/payment-handler.php?token=sometoken Where 'token' is a token I generated. According to the paypal documentation, a return method (rm) of 2 indicates to Paypal that the transaction data be posted back to the callback url using the POST method. When processing items using 'buy_now' buttons, the transaction items are correctly POSTed to my callback url (payment-handler.php), but for 'subscribe' operations, although the callback url is called, no POST data is sent to the url, and also, the 'token' field is missing. Instead, there is a parameter called 'auth'. I cant see anything in the paypal docs about a 'auth' field - so I dont know whats generating it and if I can reliably using it. Can anyone shed some light on this?

What is the best way for me to read the bytes from the stream? BinaryReader? StreamReader? BufferedStream?

• All comments get marked as spam regardless (Wordpress MU)

  Everyone (besides me) who comments on another persons blog gets marked as spam when they comment on other peoples blogs. When they comment on their own its fine. Might be related, I've installed reCaptcha and have disabled it for logged in users yet everyone who is logged in still sees it, I don't, and incidentally my comments don't get marked as spam. I don't have akismet or hashcash or any other form of spam filtering turned out (with the exception of super captcha for registration). Any idea what's wrong or where I should look first?

  Hello, Can someone help me with this I am trying to set and catch the url variable It begins with a form wich has the standard action set to "/autorisation/logout" Then a button with an inline javascript function function tbPayout() { parent.location = "/autorisation/logout?rcgo=payout"; return true; } <input src="/images/go02.gif" type=image border=0 name="go1" onClick="return tbPayout();"> In the autorisation controller I try to catch it if ( isset($_GET['rcgo']) ) { but it doesn't work and I can't see the variable in the url and therefore the default forms action is performed? I also have another redirect page with content="3; url=http://www.domain.nl/index/index?rcgo=logout" /> and that works fine How can I get the javascript to work because I have three submit buttons that need to be set to different get variables. • How would I / could I obtain an reasonably comprehensive list of domain names?

  I know that domain names are constantly changing, and I know there are a lot of them, but there is clearly a region of the domain name space which is stable. How would I go about getting a list, even a very big one? Such a thing must logically exist, even if it is in a distributed form, because the web's DNS servers resolve names to IP addresses. So in theory if I could poll all the DNS servers in the world at a moment in time I would have the complete list of mapped names. Is there a practical way of doing that? As an aside, does anyone have any good estimates of how many domain names exist at the moment?

• Looking for an automated logging tool/library for .NET!

  Hello, I'm looking for an library/tool for .NET that logs almost everything that happens in my C# application (Windows Form). The problem is that I'm delivering an application to a client (Windows XP) and after doing some task, that classic Microsoft error window appears: "ApplicationName has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" I'm currently handling my application exceptions, but this is something external and I can't get anything from that error, so I would like any automated library that helps me with that. It would work if it logs each line of code executed, orr just log what line was executing before that error appeared, or something that could give me more info about that error. Thank you! P.S: It's a multithreaded application, and have to Timer controls (one for watching a folder every 5secs, and another for watching thread list...). I'm using Windows 7 here and everything seems to work ok.

• [JS] XMLHttpRequest problem

  I am trying to do "POST" with XMLHttpRequest in a firefox extension, and after that I try to get the "Location" header and open it in a new tab. For some reason, the XMLHttpRequest doesn't contain a location header. My code function web(url,request) { var http = new XMLHttpRequest(); http.open('POST',url,true); http.setRequestHeader('Content-Type','application/x-www-form-urlencoded'); http.onreadystatechange=function() { if(http.readyState == 2) { alert(http.getResponseHeader("Location")); } } http.send(request); } Also, if I change the alert to getAllResponseHeaders() to see all headers, I just don't see the location header there. If I try to spy on the request of the original site with Firebug, it does show me the location header in the response. Please help me resolve my issues. Thanks :) P.S. I'm also unable to open a link in new tab using window.open(url, this.window.title);, but as that's not directly related to the rest of this I'll post a separate question to ask about it.
