• C# gridview nested in repeater update

  My current situation is to display an unknown number of Plantypes and within those Plantypes display a list of Participants(also unknown number), the participants have a textbox and a dropdown that is editable (you can't edit the individual rows, there is one update that does a bit of validation then updates all rows.) I currently have a gridview nested withing a repeater, the repeater displays the Plan in a label and OnItemDataBound I call a method to populate the gridviews. It looks great, but I can't figure out how to save all the data at once. I'm not opposed to handling this a different way, as in loose the gridview and or repeater, if someone has a better idea. This is C# and framework 2.0...there is no sorting or paging on the gridviews...just some links and the fields to update. thanks in advance, Padawan

What I mean is this..I have a form..in the form there is a combo list and two textfiels..the user need to choose their company using that combo list..once they have chose their company, the address and contact number of the company will be display in the next two textfields called CAddress and CContact..for example, if the user chose company ABC..how can I display the company ABC address and contact number in those textfields?   Hello Everyone, I am new to design patterns and am trying to learn the MVC implementation. I have written four classes: DataModel DataView DataController Main Main serves as the application facade. The main FLA is called HelloWorld. I have a symbol called "Box" in HelloWorld. I just would like to add an instance of the "Box" on the stage. Eventually I would like to place a button and when the button is clicked, the Box instance color will be changed. I would appreciate any help, please help me figure out what am I doing wrong. • What's an easy way of storing an array of numbers in Javascript that I can add/remove from?

  In C# I would create a List then I could add and remove numbers very easily. Does identical functionality exist in Javascript, or do I have to write my own methods to search and remove items using a loop? var NumberList = []; NumberList.Add(17); NumberList.Add(25); NumberList.Remove(17); etc. I know I can use .push to add a number, so I guess it's really how to remove an individual number without using a loop that I'm looking for. edit: of course, if there's no other way then I'll use a loop!:)

  Hi all , Im trying to read in image file from a server , with the code below . It keeps going into the exception. I know the correct number of bytes are being sent as I print them out when received. As far as I can tell its definitely sending too as the send all method in python sends all or throws an exception in the event of an error and so far it has never thrown an exception. So the client side is messed up . I have to send the file from the server so I cant use the suggestion suggested by Brian .

But MySQL reports 4 unique entries for each level. In other words, number of unique elements for each level is always equal to number of rows in log table. Is that a bug, a feature or my misunderstanding?

  hi, I am using jquery ajax method on my aspx page,which will invoke the webmethod in the code behind.Currently the webmethod takes a couple of parameters like firstname,lastname,address etc which I am passing from jquery ajax method using data:JSON.stringify({fname:firstname,lname:lastname,city:city}) now my requirement has been changed such that,the number and type of parameters that are going to be passed is not fixed for ex.parameter combination can be something like fname,city or fname,city or city,lname or fname,lname,city or something else.So the webmethod should be such that it should accept any number parameters.I thought of using arrays to do so, as described here. But I do not understand how can I identify which and how many parameters have been passed to the webmethod to insert/update the data to the DB.Please could someone help me with this? thanks

I can see functions foo1 to foo999 by dir(). however, dir() returns name of such functions, not the functions themselves. In the example, those foo-functions aren't doing anything. However in my program they perform different tasks and I can't automatically generate them. I write them myself, and have to return them by their name.

However, consider the scenario where you are entering data, and want to prevent duplicates. Using new employee data entry an employee register as an example, working through a pile of application forms to key in the new employees' details: Take top sheet. Key in employee name and unique payroll number to UI. Submit. Put paper in "completed pile". Repeat. How would you now prevent the user from keying in the same payroll number again, say for instance if they get distracted and can't remember whether they've keyed one in already and the "message" hasn't got all the way back to the query db for the user to search?

• EnumJobs not returning Copies & Total Pages

  I'm using Windows API's EnumJobs to find the PageCount and Copies of a print job, but I found that these fields are almost always zero when called on a print server. Although it could be my timing is out, because the number of pages increment as the job prints and once it's done the print job cannot be accessed. So there is about half a nanosecond when the values in EnumJobs is correct before it dissapears. I've been scouring the web but can't find any help on this, just other people with similar problems. Anybody with experience with EnumJobs or can suggest other means of determining the total number of pages printed?

  I have a query to find all the phone numbers that match a partial expression such as "ends with 234" @matchingphones = Calls.find :all, :conditions => [ "(thephonenumber LIKE ?)", "%234"] The same phone number might be in the database several times, and so might be returned multiple times by this query if it matches. What I need is to know is UNIQUE phone numbers the query returns. For example if the database contains 000-111-1234 * 000-111-3333 000-111-2234 * 000-111-1234 * 000-111-4444 the existing query will return the 3 records marked with * (eg returns one phone number -1234 twice since it's in the database twice) what I need is a query that returns just once instance of each match, in this case 000-111-1234 * 000-111-2234 *

• CakePHP: How can I disable auto-increment on Model.id?

  CakePHP 1.3.0, mysqli I have a model, Manifest, whose ID should be the unique number from a printed form. However, with Manifest.id set as the primary key, CakePHP is helping me by setting up auto-increment on the field. Is there a way to flag the field via schema.php and/or elsewhere to disable auto-increment? I need just a plain, old primary key without it. The only other solution I can imagine is adding on a separate manifest number field and changing foreign keys in a half dozen other tables. A bit wasteful and not as intuitive.

  Hello All I am encountering an issue when I am trying to load a large result set using a range query in Oracle 10g. When I try a smaller range (1 to 100), it works but when I try a larger range(1 and 1000), I get the following error "ORA-22814: attribute or element value is larger than specified in type" error. I have a basic UDT (PostComments_Type) and I have tried using both a VArray and a Table type of PostComments_Type but that hasn't made a difference.   what i need is i have linked my project with the cruise control, so when ever a build happens i want to copy the bin folder to a seperate destination folder with version number. That is when the project build happens for the second time i dont want to replace the bin folder of the first build i want to save this with another version number. How can i do that. Right now i got the thing how to copy the folder but it was overwriting the previous one. i dont want that to happen please help me how to implement the concept of versioning.

  I have a python script that I run with 'exec'. The script's string has calls to functions. When a function is called, I would like it to know the line number and offset in line for that call in the script (in the string I fed exec with). Here is an example. If my script is: foo1(); foo2(); foo1() foo3() And if I have code that prints (line,offset) in every function, I should get (0,0), (0,8), (0,16), (1,0) In most cases this can be easily done by getting the stack frame, because it contains the line number and the function name. The only problem is when there are two functions with the same name in a certain line. Unfortunately this is a common case for me. Any ideas?

When you save to Oracle VARCHAR(15) does Oracle also store this as UTF-16? Does the length of an Oracle VARCHAR refer to number of Unicode characters (and not number of bytes)? And then when we write b to the ServletResponse is this being written as UTF-16 or are we by default converting to another encoding like UTF-8?

  I am currently part of a team designing a site that will potentially have thousands of users who will be doing a number of date related searches. During the design phase we have been trying to determine which makes more sense for performance optimization. Should we store the datetime field as a mysql datetime. Or should be break it up into a number of fields (year, month, day, hour, minute, ...) The question is with a large data set and a potentially large set of users, would we gain performance wise breaking the datetime into multiple fields and saving on relying on mysql date functions? Or is mysql already optimized for this?

  Hi. So I have the (mostly vilified) #define MAX( a, b ) ( ((a) > (b)) ? (a) : (b) ) somewhere in a program (yes, yes, I know). At some point in the code there is a comparison X>-1?, where X is (as far as I can tell) a (signed) integer. The line is j += MAX(bmGs[i], bmBc[(int)y[i + j]] - m + 1 + i);, where y here is a char*. Not necessarily surprisingly, I find that the macro is returning -1 as the larger number (I'm guessing too long a number for int or an unsigned issue, but I can't find it). I would like to know techniques you guys may have for finding these kinds of errors. Notice that I'm not asking for programming advice about whether or not to use that macro, I'm sure folks are dying to tell me I should refrain from things like that, but the question is going somewhere else.   I have a Python-driven web interface powered by Apache 2.2 with mod_python and Python 2.4. I need to make an asynchronous process appear synchronous to users of this web interface. When users access one module on this website: An external SOAP interface will be contacted with a unique identifier and will respond with a number N The external interface will respond asynchronously by contacting a SOAP server on my machine between 1 and 10 times (the number N tells us how many responses we will receive) I need to somehow aggregate these responses and pass them to the original module which will display the information back to the user. The goal is to make the process appear synchronous to the user. What is the best way to handle this synchronization issue? Is this something Twisted would be well-suited for? I am not restricting myself to Python for the solution, though it is preferred because everything else on the server is in Python. I prefer a solution that is both scalable and will take a minimal amount of programming time (though I understand that these attributes are somewhat at odds).
