  • Examples of mobile frameworks that support AdSense for mobile content ads?

    - by David Sky
    I’ve tried, I really have, to find examples of serving up AdSense for mobile content ads in any of the popular mobile frameworks, but can’t find running webpages with ads, nor tutorials, etc.... I’ve done some iUI work, but would consider jQueryMobile, iWebKit, even sencha-touch if I could find an example that actually displays ads within the framework on an iPhone, iPod touch,etc... I realize there are issues with the HTML adSense generates, but hasn’t anyone found a work-around? Surely some mobile HTML sites must be serving up ads? Links to tutorials would be much appreciated!

  • Animated Circular bar on hover

    - by Anthony
    I'm building a portfolio website and want to implement a skill set page which feature an animated circular bar which represent each of my skills. There will be 6 buttons around the circle which when the user hovers over, and when one is hovered I want a circular bar to animate anti-clockwise. I've made a quick .gif in photoshop to demonstrate But I can't find any tutorial to help. I found this website which features a similar concept on the left hand side at the top, an animated pie chart - Website Example And this is a quick .gif Mockup I did in photoshop of what I am trying to achieve - Animated Circular Bar Animation

  • Finding matches between multiple JavaScript Arrays

    - by Chris Barr
    I have multiple arrays with string values and I want to compare them and only keep the matching results that are identical between ALL of them. Given this example code: var arr1 = ['apple', 'orange', 'banana', 'pear', 'fish', 'pancake', 'taco', 'pizza']; var arr2 = ['taco', 'fish', 'apple', 'pizza']; var arr3 = ['banana', 'pizza', 'fish', 'apple']; I would like to to produce the following array that contains matches from all given arrays: ['apple', 'fish', 'pizza'] I know I can combine all the arrays with var newArr = arr1.concat(arr2, arr3); but that just give me an array with everything, plus the duplicates. Can this be done easily without needing the overhead of libraries such as underscore.js? (Great, and now i'm hungry too!) EDIT I suppose I should mention that there could be an unknown amount of arrays, I was just using 3 as an example.

  • Scroll to a text position in Javascript

    - by Andy
    I have a real-time HTML editor, with a textarea on the left for code entry, and a 'preview' DIV on the right to contain the preview of the code entered. At the moment, when editing the code in the left pane, the preview just sits where it is, so often the part of the code you're editing is not in the visible area of the preview (especially when images are involved). My question is how do I make the preview scroll to show the part of the code that's currently being edited? Here is the page I have so far: http://www.caerphoto.com/rtedit.html You'll notice in the source I have a (currently unused) matchPreview() function that tries to match the scroll position of the preview based on the scroll position of the textarea, but obviously if images or large text are involved the two panes no longer match.

  • Problem Render backbone collection using Mustache template

    - by RameshVel
    I am quite new to backbone js and Mustache. I am trying to load the backbone collection (Object array) on page load from rails json object to save the extra call . I am having troubles rendering the backbone collection using mustache template. My model & collection are var Item = Backbone.Model.extend({ }); App.Collections.Items= Backbone.Collection.extend({ model: Item, url: '/items' }); and view App.Views.Index = Backbone.View.extend({ el : '#itemList', initialize: function() { this.render(); }, render: function() { $(this.el).html(Mustache.to_html(JST.item_template(),this.collection )); //var test = {name:"test",price:100}; //$(this.el).html(Mustache.to_html(JST.item_template(),test )); } }); In the above view render, i can able to render the single model (commented test obeject), but not the collections. I am totally struck here, i have tried with both underscore templating & mustache but no luck. And this is the Template <li> <div> <div style="float: left; width: 70px"> <a href="#"> <img class="thumbnail" src="http://placehold.it/60x60" alt=""> </a> </div> <div style="float: right; width: 292px"> <h4> {{name}} <span class="price">Rs {{price}}</span></h4> </div> </div> </li> and my object array kind of looks like this

  • More efficient comparison of numbers

    - by Pez Cuckow
    I have an array which is part of a small JS game I am working on I need to check (as often as reasonable) that each of the elements in the array haven't left the "stage" or "playground", so I can remove them and save the script load I have coded the below and was wondering if anyone knew a faster/more efficient way to calculate this. This is run every 50ms (it deals with the movement). Where bots[i][1] is movement in X and bots[i][2] is movement in Y (mutually exclusive). for (var i in bots) { var left = parseInt($("#" + i).css("left")); var top = parseInt($("#" + i).css("top")); var nextleft = left + bots[i][1]; var nexttop = top + bots[i][2]; if(bots[i][1]>0&&nextleft>=PLAYGROUND_WIDTH) { remove_bot(i); } else if(bots[i][1]<0&&nextleft<=-GRID_SIZE) { remove_bot(i); } else if(bots[i][2]>0&&nexttop>=PLAYGROUND_HEIGHT) { remove_bot(i); } else if(bots[i][2]<0&&nexttop<=-GRID_SIZE) { remove_bot(i); } else { //alert(nextleft + ":" + nexttop); $("#" + i).css("left", ""+(nextleft)+"px"); $("#" + i).css("top", ""+(nexttop)+"px"); } } On a similar note the remove_bot(i); function is as below, is this correct (I can't splice as it changes all the ID's of the elements in the array. function remove_bot(i) { $("#" + i).remove(); bots[i] = false; } Many thanks for any advice given!

  • Clear Select options when selecting one field while using multiple forms on same page

    - by Nizam
    Hi all, I have a situation where the second select list option is generated from the first select list selected option. Like when we select Country corresponding states are generated in next select list. In my case I am having multiple forms on single page which are same. Can anyone let me know how to implement it on multiple forms. I tried the following code but it didn't work $(".country").change(function(){ $.get("sample.php?val=" + $(this).val(), function(data){ $(this).parent().next().children('.state').children('option').remove(); $(this).parent().next().children('.state').append(data); }); Waiting for your support thanks in advance

  • Slider with keypress control bugs when keys pressed to quickly.

    - by Jaybuz
    Hello, I've made a slider that uses the left and right arrow keys to move the slide but when pressed to quickly it will bug a little and I was wondering if it's possible to limit the amount of presses in say a second. You can see it here: {link} $('#slider-nav div').click(function() { $('#slider-nav div').removeClass('selected').addClass(''); $('#slider-nav div:eq('+($.jcarousel.intval($(this).text())-1)+')').addClass('selected'); }) // Allow left and right keys to control slider $(document.documentElement).keypress(function(e) { var code = (e.keyCode ? e.keyCode : e.which); var direction = null; // handle cursor keys if (code == 37) { // left key direction = 'prev'; } else if (code == 39) { // right key direction = 'next'; } if (direction != null) { $('#slider-nav div.selected')[direction]().click(); } });

  • How to force positioned elements to stay withing viewable browser area?

    - by jessegavin
    I have a script which inserts "popup" elements into the DOM. It sets their top and left css properties relative to mouse coordinates on a click event. It works great except that the height of these "popup" elements are variable and some of them extend beyond the viewable area of the browser window. I would like to avoid this. Here's what I have so far <script type="text/javascript"> $(function () { $("area").click(function (e) { e.preventDefault(); var offset = $(this).offset(); var relativeX = e.pageX - offset.left; var relativeY = e.pageY - offset.top; // 'responseText' is the "popup" HTML fragment $.get($(this).attr("href"), function (responseText) { $(responseText).css({ top: relativeY, left: relativeX }).appendTo("#territories"); // Need to be able to determine // viewable area width and height // so that I can check if the "popup" // extends beyond. $(".popup .close").click(function () { $(this).closest(".popup").remove(); }); }); }); }); </script>

  • Error when passing quotes to webservice by AJAX

    - by Radu
    I'm passing data using .ajax and here are my data and contentType attributes: data: '{ "UserInput" : "' + $('#txtInput').val() + '","Options" : { "Foo1":' + bar1 + ', "Foo2":' + Bar2 + ', "Flags":"' + flags + '", "Immunity":' + immunity + '}}', contentType: 'application/json; charset=utf-8', Server side my code looks like this: <WebMethod()> _ Public Shared Function ParseData(ByVal UserInput As String, ByVal Options As Options) As String The userinput is obvious but the Options structure is like the following: Public Structure Options Dim Foo1 As Boolean Dim Foo2 As Boolean Dim Flags As String Dim Immunity As Integer End Structure Everything works fine when $('#txtInput') contains no double-quotes but if they are present I get an error (for an input of asd"): {"Message":"Invalid object passed in, \u0027:\u0027 or \u0027}\u0027 expected. (22): { \"UserInput\" : \"asd\"\",\"Options\" : { \"Foo1\":false, \"Foo2\":false, \"Flags\":\"\", \"Immunity\":0}}","StackTrace":" at System.Web.Script.Serialization.JavaScriptObjectDeserializer.DeserializeDictionary(Int32 depth)\r\n at System.Web.Script.Serialization.JavaScriptObjectDeserializer.DeserializeInternal(Int32 depth)\r\n at System.Web.Script.Serialization.JavaScriptObjectDeserializer.BasicDeserialize(String input, Int32 depthLimit, JavaScriptSerializer serializer)\r\n at System.Web.Script.Serialization.JavaScriptSerializer.Deserialize[T](String input)\r\n at System.Web.Script.Services.RestHandler.ExecuteWebServiceCall(HttpContext context, WebServiceMethodData methodData)","ExceptionType":"System.ArgumentException"} Any idea how I can avoid this error? Also, when I pass the same input with quotes directly it works fine.

  • 2-col layout, one col scrolls vertical, other is fixed. Both scroll horizontal.

    - by Victor P
    Im trying to do a 2 column layout where the left column is very long vertically, and the right column is very long horizontally. When I scroll vertically, I want to move up and down the left column while the right one stays fixed. When I scroll horizontally, both columns move left-right (normal behaviour) I hope this drawing explain it more (sorry for the bad quality): Is this possible to do using only css? If not, how can I do it with javascript? Thanks

  • Ajax Post Request Returns JSON but Deferred Fails

    - by imrane
    I have a cross-domain POST request to http://api.local/user/auth - my API endpoint. I allow Cross Domain requests in my api with CORS. Using Chrome if that makes a difference. I get a valid server JSON response with 200 Status Code but I am using deferreds from a backbone model like so: @model.save() .fail(-> console.log 'sync fail') .success -> console.log 'sync OK' And I consistently get a 'sync fail' instead of the expected 'sync OK' Thoughts?

  • latin bases language segmentation gramatical rules

    - by pravin
    Hi folks, I am working on one feature i.e. to apply language segmentation rules ( grammatical ) for Latin based language ( English currently ). Currently I am in phase of breaking sentences of user input. e.g.: "I am working in language translation". "I have used Google MT API for this" In above example i will break above sentence by full stop (.) This is normal cases where I am breaking sentence on dot, but there are n number of characters for breaking sentence like ( . ! ? etc ). I have following SRX rules for segmentation. Here my question are :- 1) Is there any reference ? which I can use for resolving my language segmentation rules. 2) Or Is there any forums on language segmentation ? , so that i can discuss efficiently Please let me know if anybody know about this ? Thanks a lot.

  • Reading only one row from table in model binder

    - by user281180
    I am filling a table dynamically. I can see the table filled with 3 rows, but in my model binder I can read only one value. How can I solve this problem? My code is as follows: function AddTableRow(jQtable, value, text){ var count = 0; jQtable.each(function() { var $table = $(this); var tds = '<tr>'; tds += '<td>' + '<input type="text" value = ' + text + ' disabled ="disabled" style="width:auto"/>' + '<input type="hidden" name="projectList[' + count + '].ID" value = ' + value + ' /></td>' + '<td><input type="button" value="Remove"/></td>'; tds += '</tr>'; if ($('tbody', this).length > 0) { $('tbody', this).append(tds); } else { $(this).append(tds); } count++;}); } function ReadSelectedProject() { $("#Selected option").each(function() { AddTableRow($('#projectTable'), $(this).val(), $(this).text()); }); }

  • Fading out everything but (this) - while honoring a click()

    - by Kasper Lewau
    I'm trying to achieve a fading navigation system, where everything in the nav but the element being hovered will fade out to say, 0.3 opacity. At the same time, I want clicks to have a greater "value", so as to not fade out a clicked element (or in this case, the active subpage).. That didn't make much sense to me either, I'll just post the code I have. <nav id="main"> <ul> <li> <a>work</a> </li> <li> <a>about me</a> </li> <li> <a>contact</a> </li> </ul> </nav> And the script that makes it sparkle: var nava = "nav#main ul li a"; $(nava).hover(function(){ $(nava).not(this).removeClass().addClass("inactive"); $(this).addClass("active"); }); $(nava).click(function(){ $(this).removeClass().addClass("active"); }); }); And the classes / css(less): .inactive{color:@color2; border-bottom:0 solid #000;} .active{color:@color1; border-bottom:1px solid #000;} nav#main ul li a{color:@color1;} Basically the hover states take priority over the click, which I do not want to happen. Ideally I'd like for all of the anchor elements to revert to its original state whenever you hover out from the unordered list holding it all. If anyone has some pointers on this it'd be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

  • Please help clean this loop

    - by Alex Angelini
    I do not code much in Javascript, but I have the following snippet which IMHO looks horrendous and I have to do this nested iteration quite often in my code. Does anyone have a prettier/easier to read solution? function addBrowse(data) { var list = $('<ul></ul>') for(i = 0; i < data.list.length; i++) { var file = list.append('<li class="toLeft">' + data.list[i].name + '</li>') for(j = 0; j < data.list[i].children.length; j++) { var db = file.append('<li>' + data.list[i].children[j].name + '</li>') for(k = 0; k < data.list[i].children[j].children.length; k++) db.append('<li class="toRight">' + data.list[i].children[j].children[k].name + '</li>') } } $('#browse').append(list).show()} Here is a sample data element {"file":"","db":"","tbl":"","page":"browse","list":[ { "name":"/home/alex/GoSource/test1.txt", "children":[ { "name":"go", "children":[ { "name":"validation1", "children":[ ] } ] } ] }, { "name":"/home/alex/GoSource/test2.txt", "children":[ { "name":"go", "children":[ { "name":"validation2", "children":[ ] } ] } ] }, { "name":"/home/alex/GoSource/test3.txt", "children":[ { "name":"go", "children":[ { "name":"validation3", "children":[ ] } ] } ] }]} Thanks a lot
