  Hi! I'm trying to implement stateless session bean ejb3 in jboss5 using netbeans6.8 as a editor. When I tried deploying my application, I'm getting the following error. • Really slow obtaining font metrics.

  So the problem I have is that I start my application by displaying a simple menu. To size and align the text correctly I need to obtain font metrics and I cannot find a way to do it quickly. I tested my program and it looks like whatever method I use to obtain font metrics the first call takes over 500 milliseconds!? Because of it the time it takes to start-up my application is much longer than necessary. I don't know if it is platform specific or not, but just in case, I'm using Mac OS 10.6.2 on MacBook Pro (hardware isn't an issue here). If you know a way of obtaining font metrics quicker please help.   I'm posting this in the hope it saves somebody else the hours I lost on this really stupid problem involving converting formats of public keys. If anybody sees a simpler solution or a problem, please let me know! The eCommerce system I'm using sends me some data along with a signature. They also give me their public key in .pem format.   Hi, We have a web application, running in an application pool as 'NETWORK SERVICE'. The web application connects to a service (.svc) on another web server. The other web server also has the service hosted as 'NETWORK SERVICE'. I believe this is the default. The following endpoint, when run anywhere else works perfectly. <endpoint address="http://server123/UnitTrustService/UnitTrustService.svc" binding="wsHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="WSHttpBinding_UnitTrustService" contract="UnitTrustServiceReference.UnitTrustService" name="WSHttpBinding_UnitTrustService"> <identity> <servicePrincipalName value="server123" /> </identity> </endpoint> Unfortunately when executed from the web site, we get the following error. System.ServiceModel.Security.MessageSecurityException: The identity check failed for the outgoing message. The expected identity is 'identity(http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/right/possessproperty: http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/claims/upn)' for the 'http://server123/UnitTrustService/UnitTrustService.svc' target endpoint.   I am trying to get an ajax get to a webmethod in code behind. The problem is I keep getting the error "parserror" from the JQuery onfail method. If I change the GET to a POST everything works fine. Please see my code below. • JSP compilation error upon changing XML parser to Xerces

  All, I'm working on a java webapp that we deploy in the Resin web app server. I have been doing some XML parsing for a new part of the application, and realized that our app was using Resin classes to do the parsing. I wanted to get away from that and use something more standard for a number of reasons, so I set these system properties in my resin config file (and added the xerces jar to my classpath): <system-property javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory="org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl"/> <system-property javax.xml.parsers.SAXParserFactory="org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl"/> And, now I'm getting JSP compilation errors on several pages (I guess Resin's built in parser was more lenient). The error reads: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The value of attribute "title" associated with an element type "display:column" must not contain the '<' character. And, the 'display:column' tag on some pages does indeed contain markup in the 'title' attribute. Here's an example: <display:column scope='col' class=" appealColorBG selectAllWidth" title="<span class='centerThis'><label for='selectAll'>Select All</label><br /> <input type='checkbox' name='selectAll' id='selectAll' onClick='selectAllCheckboxes();'/></span> " > That's some ugly JSP code, I know, but it's also code that's already in production, so I'm hesitant to change it.   I am trying to capture screenshots on test failure using selenium-client and rspec. I run this command: $ spec my_spec.rb \ --require 'rubygems,selenium/rspec/reporting/selenium_test_report_formatter' \ --format=Selenium::RSpec::SeleniumTestReportFormatter:./report.html It creates the report correctly when everything passes, since no screenshots are required. Am I missing something important in my spec? • Call OpenFileDialog Silverlight from JavaScript

  I'm trying to call a function in a Silverlight 4 component to open a file dialog and upload a file to the server. Everything works well within Silverlight but I'd like to call the component from JavaScript. So I call the button click handler from a C#-function which is [ScriptableMember]. I get the following error when calling the function: System.Security.SecurityException: Dialogs must be user-initiated. at System.Windows.Browser.ManagedObjectInfo.Invoke(ManagedObject obj, InvokeType invokeType, String memberName, ScriptParam[] args) at System.Windows.Hosting.ManagedHost.InvokeScriptableMember(IntPtr pHandle, Int32 nMemberID, Int32 nInvokeType, Int32 nArgCount, ScriptParam[] pArgs, ScriptParam& pResult, ExceptionInfo& pExcepInfo) I based my code on the tutorial by Tim Heuer that can be found here: http://www.silverlight.net/learn/videos/silverlight-videos/openfiledialog-and-file-upload/ I understand why the error is thrown, sort of, the 'click' from the user is done in JavaScript and probably is not going through to Silverlight. For Silverlight this is merely a function call. Is this new policy from Silverlight 4? Is it still possible to only use Silverlight behind to screens to upload a file? Any help is appreciated.

  I need to check that our visitors are using HTTPS. In BasePage I check if the request is coming via HTTPS. If it's not, I redirect back with HTTPS. However I'd like to add this newly created site to an existing application pool. Using DATETIME (instead of DATETIME2) works fine. But I'd rather use DATETIME2 to support the increased precision. What am I doing something wrong, or is DateTime2 not (fully) supported by SQLCLR ?

• Need advice or pointers on Release Management Strategies

  I look after an internal web based (Java, JSP, Mediasurface, etc.) system that is in constant use (24/5). Users raise tickets for enhancements, bug fixes and other business changes. These issues are signed off individually and assigned to one of three or four developers. Once the issue is complete it is built and the code only committed to SVN. The changed files (templates, html, classes, jsp) are then copied to a dev server and committed to a different repository from where they are checked out to the UAT server for testing. (this often requires the Tomcat service to be restarted and occasionally the Mediasurface service as well). The users then test and either reject or approve the release. If approved the edited files are checked out to the Live server and the same process as with UAT undertaken. If rejected the developer makes the relevant changes and starts the release process again. This is all done manually without much control. Where different developers are working on similar files, changes sometimes get overwritten by builds done on out of sync code in other cases changes in UAT are moved to live in error as they are mixed up in files associated with a signed off release. I would like to move this to a more controlled and automated process where all source code and output files are held in SVN and releases to Dev, UAT and Live managed by a CI system (We have TeamCity in house for our .NET applications). My question is on how to manage the releases of multiple changes where some will be signed off and moved on and others rejected and returned to the developer. The changes may be on overlapping files and simply merging each release in to a Release Branch means that the rejected changes would have to be backed out of the branch. Is there a way to manage this using SVN and CI or will I simply have to live with the current system.

• Error in ASP.NET MVC 2 View after Upgrading from ASP.NET 4.0 RC to RTM

  In my View, I am trying to loop through a list in a LINQ object that as part of my View Model. This worked fine earlier today with the VS2010 RC and the .NET 4.0 RC. <% if (Model.User.RoleList.Count > 0 ) { %> <% foreach (var role in Model.User.RoleList) { %> <%: role.Name %><br /> <% } %> <% } else { %> <em>None</em><br /> <% } %> It used to happily spew out a list of the role names. No data or code has changed. Simply the software upgrades from RC to RTM. The error I am getting is this: \Views\Users\Details.aspx(67): error CS0012: The type 'System.Data.Linq.EntitySet`1' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Data.Linq, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'. But System.Data.Linq IS referenced. I see it there in the references list. I tried deleting it and re-adding it but I get the same error. Any ideas?

  I am writing a job to migrate documents to SharePoint 2010 and need to set Author and Editor to the original user for the Source System. ImportFile = ImportFolder.Files.Add(ImportFileName, contents, CreatedBy, ModifiedBy, TimeCreated, TimeModified) ... ImportFile.Item("Author") = InternalOperatorUser ImportFile.Item("Editor") = InternalOperatorUser ImportFile.Item.UpdateOverwriteVersion() ImportFile.Item.SystemUpdate(False) ... That is working fine and it is setting Author and Editor on the ListItem level correctly SPFile.Item("Author") SPFile.Item("Editor") BUT (!!!) SharePoint also stores the Editor on the Attachment level which some tools use as display value instead. This value is set to the system user who is running that script SPFile.Versions.Item(1).CreatedBy This field is readonly. Is there a way to modifiy it so I can set InternalOperatorUser to be the Creator for the Attachment as well. SharePoint 2010 Web only uses the values on the ListItem Attribites which are fine but there are thrid party tools that use the ones on the Attahcment level. Using SharePoint Explorer I could confirm that CreatedBy is set to be the system user. Does anyone here know how to change this value as well? Thanks, Wolfgang

When it's converted to an ascii byte array, I get a base64 encoded hash of X03MO1qnZdYdgyfeuILPmQ== When it's converted into a unicode byte array, I get a base64 encoded hash of sIHb6F4ew//D1OfQInQAzQ== All my passwords are stored in an md5 hash that was applied to an ascii byte array, but I'm trying to migrate my application's user data to a system that stores password in an md5 hash that is applied a unicode byte array. In case it's not clear, with the following C#code: var passwordBytes = Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("password"); var hashAlgorithm = HashAlgorithm.Create("MD5"); var hashBytes = hashAlgorithm.ComputeHash(passwordBytes); My current system uses this, but the system I'm moving to has a diff first time. It usese Encoding.Unicode.GetBytes. Does anybody know how I can convert my passwords? From X03MO1qnZdYdgyfeuILPmQ== into sIHb6F4ew//D1OfQInQAzQ== I'm guessing the answer is that I can't.. the encoding is being done before the hashing, but I thought I'd inquire the bright minds of stackoverflow and see if anybody has a way.
