  • MySQL Stored Procedure Parameters are NULL

    - by emmilely
I am stumped, and was hoping someone here would have a quick and easy answer. I did a fresh install of MySQL 5.5 and am trying to pass parameters into a stored procedure. The parameter values aren't being read by the stored procedure. MySQL doesn't throw an error and processes the code with null parameters. Here is the code: DELIMITER $$ CREATE DEFINER=`root`@`%` PROCEDURE `testing`(IN parameter INTEGER) BEGIN UPDATE table_name SET valueToChange = 'Test' WHERE mainID = @parameter; END And here is the query I'm using to call it: USE database_name; CALL testing(72); Can anyone help?

  • bash script - spawn, send, interact - commands not found error

    - by Sandeepan Nath
I my shell script, I am trying to remove password prompt for scp command (as given in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/459182/using-expect-to-pass-a-password-to-ssh/459225#459225) and this is what I have so far :- #!/usr/bin/expect spawn scp $DESTINATION_PATH/exam.tar $SSH_CREDENTIALS':/'$PROJECT_INSTALLATION_PATH expect "password:" send $sshPassword"\n"; interact On running the script, I am getting errors spawn: command not found send: command not found interact: command not found I was also getting error expect: command not found also, then I realised the path to expect was not correct and expect was not installed at all. So, I did yum install expect, corrected the path and the error was gone. But not able to remove the other 3 errors still.

  • XP Mode as a server, Win 7 as a client

    - by Spyro
I have two virtual machines (XP Mode). They are connected to each other by a network setting - Internal Network. It is the only working setting. This is the only way I got two virtual XP to ping each other. Now I want to connect each of them from the application that runs on Windows 7 which is hosting both virtual machines, but I can't do that. The firewall on both XP-Mode machines is disabled. Any other networking setting added as additional adapter on Xp-Mode machine does not allow me to connect from Windows 7. So my question is this - how to enable connection from Windows 7 application to XP mode application (client - server)? Point 2 (pass message) work perfectly because of the "internal network" setting. The problem is point 1 and 3.

  • Exposing a WebServer behind a firewall without Port Forwarding

    - by pbreault
We are deploying web applications in java using tomcat on client machines across the country. Once they are installed, we want to allow a remote access to these web applications through a central server, but we do not want our clients to have to open ports on their routers. Is there a way to tunnel the http traffic so that people connected to the central server can access the web applications that are behind a firewall ? The central server has a static ip address and we have full control over it. Right now, it is a windows box but it could be changed to a linux box if necessary. Our clients are running windows xp and up. We don't need to access the filesystem, we only want to access the web application through a browser. We have looked at reverse ssh tunneling but it shows scaling problem since every packet would have to pass through the central server.

  • Apache Reverse Proxy server and SSL NTLM SharePoint

    - by user50211
Hi, I'm trying to set Apache as proxy server to an internal SharePoint server. I have previously configured Apache to run as a proxy server to export internal webpages and web applications. However, the Sharepoint is using SSL and NTLM authentication, and this is new to me :( I have tried many options, the traffic seems to be forwared as I get the authentication popup window, but when I insert the user/pass, I get back to the same popup window. Anybody has configured Apache to do so? Here is a part of my httpd.conf: <VirtualHost *:443> ServerName repository.out.com SSLProxyEngine On RequestHeader set Front-End-Https "On" ProxyRequests Off ProxyPreserveHost On ProxyPass / https://sharepoint.in.com ProxyPassReverse / https://sharepoint.in.com CacheDisable * SetEnv force-proxy-request-1.0 1 SetEnv proxy-nokeepalive 1 ErrorLog logs/jlanza_log CustomLog logs/jlanza_log common </VirtualHost>

  • Setting up dante socks server

    - by skerit
I want to tunnel all my internet traffic through my vps, so I'm trying to install a proxy server. However: I can't seem to browse the internet through Dante. I get the ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE error. This is my config: logoutput: stderr /home/user/dantelog internal: eth1 port=1080 external: eth1 method: username pam user.privileged: proxy user.notprivileged: nobody user.libwrap: nobody client pass { from: 10.0.0.0/8 port 1-65535 to: 0.0.0.0/0 } Do I really have to run 2 proxy servers: one for http and one for socks? or is there something else I can do?

  • Password manager with checking for expired logins and passwords

    - by ldigas
I, like most in here, use a password manager for keeping all kinds of login/pass informations inside. And over time, the heap of passwords started to grow, and grow, and now it's on about 350 (give or take) entries. The problem is, most of these have been temporary, for example, for login into forums which I wanted to visit, and never come back again; same with some pages and so on ... and because of that, every now and then I come onto a password that's long gone expired. So I was wondering, is there a utility out there that can check which of these has actually expired by logging in, and logging out ? I know this is a relatively complicated operation (auto filling doesn't always works and so on, how to log out ... etc.) , but still ... maybe someone knows.

  • How to disable Windows 8 lock screen?

    - by Filip
So I took a plunge and installed Windows 8 Consumer Preview on my main home PC. So far so good, but there is one annoyance - the system "locks" the computer after a period of inactivity causing me to re-enter my password. I really would like to avoid this, but have no idea how. I already tried the power settings (no pass on wake up) and the screen saver settings with no luck. Is this some sort of bug, or am I missing something? P.S. In this case I favor convenience over security.

  • Creating stereo file from two mono files with sox

    - by haimg
I'm using sox 14.2.0 on Centos 6.0. I have two mono wav files, left.wav and right.wav. I need to combine them into one stereo.ogg file, with left.wav pan 80% to the left, and right.wav pan 80% to the right. I was unable to come up with the sox options needed for this. How do I do this? This is going to be executed repeatably for many files, so I'd prefer an efficient solution. From what I understand there should be a way to do it in one pass (one invocation of sox).

  • How to enable Jetty to support cometd/reverse ajax while let it listen to port 80?

    - by janetsmith
Hi, I would like to use cometd / reverse ajax capability of Jetty 7. I tried to configure it so it listen to port 80, instead of 8080. However, according to http://jetty.mortbay.org/jetty5/faq/faq%5Fs%5F200-General%5Ft%5Fapache.html , Apache can be configured as a HTTP/1.1 proxy to pass selected request to the Jetty using the HTTP/1.1 protocol. This is simple to configure and use, but current versions of the apache mod_proxy do not support persistent connections. As far as I know, the reverse ajax in jetty is depending on continuation (I guess it is persistent connection). So how to let jetty support reverse ajax, while coexist with apache server? Thanks.

  • VLAN trunking between Juniper EX -> Cisco Catalyst -> and Cisco Router

I have the following scenario: EX2200 Switch whit ge-0/0/6 set as an access port on VLAN 80 ge-0/0/0 set as a trunk port connected to a catalyst switch and various vlans allowed to pass includin vlan 80 On the Catalyst Switch. port #3 set up as a trunk port that receives traffic from the EX switch. port 46 is set up also as a trunk port that connects to a cisco router. Port #48 is where the host used to be connected host - EX2200 - Catalyst - Router the problem is that this EX2200 is a new addition to the network and the host connected previosly to the catalyst switch. traffic is not getting from the host to the router, but the router can send ARP request to the host. following is the relevant configuration: Catalyst Switch: interface GigabitEthernet1/46 switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q switchport trunk allowed vlan 80,82,83,93,289 switchport mode trunk mtu 1532 media-type rj45 speed 1000 duplex full arp timeout 300 ! interface GigabitEthernet1/48 switchport access vlan 80 switchport mode access mtu 1532 media-type rj45 speed 100 duplex full arp timeout 300 no cdp enable ! • How to find what Service Pack of IE is currently installed on the system?

    - by Kanini
Hello...We have website and one of our customers complains that when he launches the URL there is a blank popup that appears on his window. He uses IE 7. We have tried to reproduce the same behaviour in our local PC's but we are not able to do so. The site opens up perfectly fine in our systems. We suspect that it could be due to a different Service Pack installed on the customer's PC. Is there a way we can find out which SP is he running on. What would be the simplest process which we can then pass on to the customer to know which SP is he running on?

  • Wrong Sound Blaster's PCI ID within Windows

    - by pavian
I own Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium, it was working with no problems under Linux or Windows 7. It's original PCI ID is 1102:000b but now I see different within MS Windows. BIOS setup: 1102:000b GNU/Linux: 1102:000b Windows 7: 1102:000d Windows 8: 1102:000d In last days I'm experimenting with IOMMU PCI passthrough in Xen and I tried to pass this device to virtual Windows 7 and 8. Here I found this problem. I don't know if this is just coincidence or reason of my problem but it's wrong even in physical system. Windows detects 1102:000d as a High Definition Audio sound device (I guess this name, I have localized Windows, but this is general name, the same was with Realtek HDA before drivers), it's playing but it's unstable (Windows speaker testing can crash that application) and I can't install Creative software. Used driver is hdaudio.sys. Booting in BIOS or UEFI mode doesn't change anything. Nor CMOS clean. Someone met the same problem.

  • Apache2 proxypass

    - by gatsby
i'm trying to figure out why my apache2 reverse proxy doesn't work... hope someone can clarify. i'm using an apache server as a gateway with proxy pass: 10.184.1.2 is the IP. these are PP instructions i inserted in the 000-default config file. ProxyPass / http://192.168.102.31/ ProxyPassReverse / http://192.168.102.31/ the host 192.168.102.31 is an internal IP of a subnet wich is not reachable directly by clients, but only by the apache gateway. when i try to access such a address: http://apache_gateway_name/dir i see the client trying to reach 192.168.102.31 address and of course timeout occurs. can someone help? Best regards

  • Determining Performance Limits

    - by JeffV
I have a number of windows processes that pass messages between them hat a high rate using tcp to local host. Aside from testing on actual hardware how can I assess what my hardware limit will be. These applications are not doing CPU intensive work, mostly decomposing and combining messages, scanning over them for special flag in the data etc.. The message size is typically 3k and the rate is typically ~10k messages per second. ~30MB per second between processing stages. There may be 10 or more stages depending. For this type of application, what should I look to for assessing performance? What do I look for in a server performance wise? I am currently running an XEON L5408 with 32 GB ram. But I am assuming cache is more important than actual ram size as I am barely touching the ram.

  • Server 2003 SP2 BSOD caused by fltmgr.sys

    - by MasterMax1313
I'm running into a problem where a Server 2003 SP2 box has started crashing roughly once an hour, BSODing out with the message that fltmgr.sys is probably the cause. I ran dumpchk.exe on the memory.dmp file, indicating the same thing. Any thoughts on typical root causes? The following is the error code I'm seeing: Error code 0000007e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 f723e087, parameter3 f78cea8c, parameter4 f78ce788. After running dumpchk on the memory.dmp file, I get the following note: Probably caused by : fltmgr.sys ( fltmgr!FltGetIrpName+63f ) The full log is here: Microsoft (R) Windows Debugger Version 6.12.0002.633 X86 Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation. • HAProxy NGInx SSL setup

    - by Niclas
I've been looking around different setups for a server cluster supporting SSL and I would like to benchmark my idea with you. Requirements: All servers in the cluster should be under the same full domain name. (http and https) Routing to subsystems is done on URI matching in HA proxy. All URIs have support for SSL support. Wish: Centralizing routing rules ---<----http-----<-- | | Inet -->HA--+---https--->NGInx_SSL_1..N | | +---http---> Apache_1..M | +---http---> NodeJS Idea: Configure HA to route all SSL traffic (mode=tcp, algorithm=Source) to an NGInx cluster turning https traffic into http. Re-pass the http traffic from NGInx to the HA for normal load-balancing which performs load balancing based on HA config. My question is simply: Is this the best way to to configure based on requirements above?

  • Send all traffic over VPN connection not working Windows VPN host

    - by Adam Schiavone
I am trying to get a mac (10.8) to connect to thru vpn to a server running Windows Server 2008 R2 pass all requests from the mac to the server. The VPN is setup and I can connect and access the server thru a web browser, but for all other sites, the DNS lookup fails. I have tried adding a DNS server to the VPN Host. ex. Lets say the the VPN server also hosts a website example.com. I connect to the VPN with my mac and point a browser to example.com and everything works fine. but when I point the browser to google.com it just sits there and will eventually come back with a DNS lookup failed message. HOWEVER: I tried running the command dig @myServersIpHere www.google.com. on the mac and it comes back with correct IP addresses. I really dont know what to do from here. How can I route all requests from my mac, thru my windows server via VPN?

  • How to set up linux watchdog daemon with Intel 6300esb

    - by ACiD GRiM
I've been searching for this on Google for sometime now and I have yet to find proper documentation on how to connect the kernel driver for my 6300esb watchdog timer to /dev/watchdog and ensure that watchdog daemon is keeping it alive. I am using RHEL compatible Scientific Linux 6.3 in a KVM virtual machine by the way Below is everything I've tried so far: dmesg|grep 6300 i6300ESB timer: Intel 6300ESB WatchDog Timer Driver v0.04 i6300ESB timer: initialized (0xffffc900008b8000). heartbeat=30 sec (nowayout=0) | ll /dev/watchdog crw-rw----. 1 root root 10, 130 Sep 22 22:25 /dev/watchdog | /etc/watchdog.conf #ping = 172.31.14.1 #ping = 172.26.1.255 #interface = eth0 file = /var/log/messages #change = 1407 # Uncomment to enable test. Setting one of these values to '0' disables it. # These values will hopefully never reboot your machine during normal use # (if your machine is really hung, the loadavg will go much higher than 25) max-load-1 = 24 max-load-5 = 18 max-load-15 = 12 # Note that this is the number of pages! # To get the real size, check how large the pagesize is on your machine. #min-memory = 1 #repair-binary = /usr/sbin/repair #test-binary = #test-timeout = watchdog-device = /dev/watchdog # Defaults compiled into the binary #temperature-device = #max-temperature = 120 # Defaults compiled into the binary #admin = root interval = 10 #logtick = 1 # This greatly decreases the chance that watchdog won't be scheduled before # your machine is really loaded realtime = yes priority = 1 # Check if syslogd is still running by enabling the following line #pidfile = /var/run/syslogd.pid Now maybe I'm not testing it correctly, but I would expecting that stopping the watchdog service would cause the /dev/watchdog to time out after 30 seconds and I should see the host reboot, however this does not happen. Also, here is my config for the KVM vm <!-- WARNING: THIS IS AN AUTO-GENERATED FILE. CHANGES TO IT ARE LIKELY TO BE OVERWRITTEN AND LOST. • Coffeeshop limits Internet connection to 30 minutes -- how does it recognize me if I delete my cooki

    - by Andrew
I was connected to the Internet in a coffeeshop earlier today, but I was only allowed 30 minutes of access. I tried deleting my cookies after my time was up (though admittedly I didn't delete my Flash cookies -- would that have solved the problem?), but the connection still recognized that I'd already used 30 minutes, so I couldn't connect again. How did the connection recognize me still? The wireless was unprotected (no code or password), it just had a portal you had to pass through upon the initial connection. I'm not terribly familiar with web development or computer networks, so just trying to get a better idea of what's happening (and possibly to know what to do next time I use up my minutes =)).

  • What is an SSH key?

    - by acidzombie24
I signed up for github and notice the ssh key option which looked interesting. I originally expected something like an ssl key (name, co name, etc). After going through it i notice i only put a password and it is always myuser@comp-name (this is windows). Why? I thought it was a user/pass id and i can create separate keys for separate purpose for privacy reasons. Now i see i am required to use one to create a repository. Also i see something about a 'private key file' when looking at options. What exactly is an SSH Key and how can i create a separate user without creating a separate login in windows.

  • FTP issue - VSFTPd and connecting to from FileZilla

    - by B Tyndall
I'm trying to connect to a CentOS Linux box that I have hosted on EC2 and I think I have everything configured correctly but when I try to connect I get this series of messages Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Response: 220 (vsFTPd 2.0.5) Command: USER tyndall Response: 331 Please specify the password. Command: PASS ********* Response: 230 Login successful. Status: Connected Status: Retrieving directory listing... Command: PWD Response: 257 "/home/tyndall" Command: TYPE I Response: 200 Switching to Binary mode. Command: PASV Error: Connection timed out Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing Not sure where to start troubleshooting this issue. Any ideas? Do I need to change any permissions? I would think this ID has the ability to see my own home directory. I am able to push/pull files from the command line version of FTP client working on Windows.
