• DockPanel ActivateMDIChild in C#

  Hi I have used WeifenLuo.WinFormsUI.Docking Dockpanel in my project. I have three Document Style DockContent (i.e. A, B, C)in my application which has been arranged in tabbed style. On Focus() method of any of this dockContent (i.e. A, B, C) its getting activated and getting focus well. As per requirement i need to hide all three dockcontent(i.e. A, B, C) n need to show other two (i.e. D,E). And then once particular process get over, i close D,E and show A, B, C. Then after On Focus() of C, its focus is not getting set. May i know what could be the reason for the same. Please guide me for the same. Thanks.

  I have a JSON result that contains numerous records. I'd like to show the first five records in one page and create pager links which have to move to that page with five record so on. I don't want the page to refresh which is why I'm hoping for a combination of JavaScript and jQuery.   Hi to all, I'm a new to mono enviroment and I have some question to ask... I'm trying to make a "browser" that display me a web page, well in windows NET is easy I can use Form.Window.WebBrowser. So I test with Moma this app, and it notice me that I can't use Form.Window.Webbroser " mac osx not compatible", Well I search around the web and I find this http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/14918.html but honestly I don't understand why I should use Gdk, and glade so I try to "add reference" to visual studio 2010 RC but I find Monodoc.GeckoHtmlRend then I find an other way using Mono.WebBrowser.dll but again Mono.WebBrowser Mono.WebBrowser.DOM Well my question are: where find documentation about one or other libs if I "add reference..." using menu of visual 2010 rc the dll linked is needed in release file or all library needed is included in release assembly? • SSRS 2005 Matrix and border styles when exporting to XLS

  The Matrix in SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services 2005) seems to have issues with certain the border styles when exporting to XLS (but not PDF or web view; maybe other formats, not sure?). For example: Create a matrix and set the Matrix border style to Black Solid 1px, but all 4 of the cells to have a border style of Black None 1px. When viewed via the ASP.NET control, it looks correct. But after export to XLS, it creates borders around all of the header cells (column and row headers, and the top left cell), and even the right most data column. But all the cells in the middle of the report correctly have no border set. Update: If the Matrix borders are set to None, then the borders on the cells don't show up in XLS. So, how do you set an outer border around the Matrix, but not have it apply the 'all sides' border to every cell that touches the edge of the Matrix when exported to Excel?

• Uploadify Hanging at random on 100%

  I am using Uploadify (http://www.uploadify.com/) to enable my users to upload images via my web application. The problem I am having is that every now and then (at what appears to be random) when the progress bar reaches 100% it 'hangs' and does nothing. I was wondering if any developers familiar with uploadify may have any idea how to solve this? I am in desperate need of some help. • MS Chart Control Scale - Line graph show 12 months

  Hi, On my X Axis, I have months. The chart shows up to 11 points, i.e. Jan - Nov of the same year, but when I add 12 points (Jan - Dec), it will do an auto label thing and change the interval for every 4 months. How can I change the graph so that it shows 12 months before it does the auto labels? • How do I setup ASP.NET MVC 2 with MySQL?

  Okay, so I'm cheating and not actually a question, but instead making a flat-out post. I know that goes against the grain of Stack Overflow, but this is too valuable not to share. I'm assuming that you have Visual Studio Professional 2008 and access to an instance of MySQL server. This MAY work with VS2008 Web edition, but not at all sure. If you haven't, install MySQL Connector for .NET (6.2.2.0 at the time of this write-up) Optional: install MySQL GUI Tools If you haven't, install MVC 2 RTM, or better yet, use Microsoft's Web Platform Installer. Create an empty MySQL database. If you don't want to access your application with the MySQL root user account (insecure), create a user account and assign the appropriate privileges (outside the scope of this write-up). Create a new MVC 2 application in Visual Studio In the MVC 2 app, reference MySql.Web.dll. It will either be in your GAC, or in the folder that the MySQL Connector installer put it. Look for the "Configuration Tool" heading half way down the page. The public key token on the MySql.web.dll that I've posted here ought not change any time soon. But in case you suspect a bad token string from copying and pasting or whatever, just use the Visual Studio command line to run: "sn -T [Path\to\your.dll]" in order to get the correct public key token.   Hi I am graduating from my Computer Science degree in a few weeks from now!! I started to look for my first job. For the last couple years I gotten really into web programming(Asp.net). My first choice would be to get a junior asp.net MVC developer but I don't any companies in my area use MVC yet or if they do they are not hiring. So my second choice would be a junior asp.net Webforms developer. My other choices after that would be forms applications, mobile applications using .Net and C#. As you can see I am looking for something with .Net. I spent the last couple years doing .Net projects for school, on my free time and love the Language and it would pain me right now to switch to something like php. To me it sounds like it is QA job. I don't have anything against QA jobs but alot of them seems to be your just clicking buttons and running scripts. Is this what a typical software developer does? Like I am so on the fence to apply for this job. On one side I am not sure how much programming I would be doing. Like I want to be at least half the time programming otherwise my skills will never improve since I will never be programming in teams and stuff. At the same time I have no experience in the industry so on the other side I am thinking just go for it and then maybe a year later try to get a full programming job(provided that I got the job). Yet if I am not programming in that job then that experience will not help me for the next job I find as I will be back a square one.

  Hi, I am trying to open a dialog on widget click. I have solved the problem skinning the activity started on click with android:theme="@android:style/Theme.Dialog". Unfortunately I cannot reach the same look of a dialog. Is there a predefined theme/style to obtain the same look of a standard dialog? If not, what are the steps to follow to reach that result?   I'm looking to buy a laptop with the following specs for a developer. The goal will be to have a development machine supplementing the devs desktop. During work hours the dev will be on a beefy desktop. For working while on the go: trains, client sites, code camps, it would be nice to have a machine which can run Visual Studio 2008 without needing to remote desktop into their primary machine. What do you think is the lowest cost laptop meeting this need? Here are the specs I have in mind: SSD drive 64GB-doesn't need to be huge, most data is stored on servers. Will need to fit Windows 7, IIS, SQL Server, and Visual Studio 2010. RAM-3GB processor =Pentium Core 2 duo Screen size = 14 inches. OS doesn't matter. It will be paved with Windows 7 Ultimate optical drive omitted would be a plus. weight and battery life aren't so important because the machine will be plugged in almost all the time.

• Recommendations on resolving a cs1705 error

  I'm upgrading a number of solutions from Visual Studio 2008 to Visual Studio 2010RC. In the process of doing this, I've encountered two instances of compiler error cs1705, one for System.Core and another for System.Data.Linq. In each case, an assembly compiled earlier has a reference to the .NET 4.0 version of these system assemblies, while the web project I'm trying to compile only has references to the .NET 3.5 version of them. Adding .NET 4.0 versions of System.Core and System.Data.Linq to the web project doesn't resolve the error. Removing the .NET 3.5 versions of the assemblies so that only the .NET 4.0 versions remain results in even more errors. Any recommendations on how to resolve this error would be greatly appreciated.

• Error LNK1223 on ARM builds

  eMbedded Visual C++ 3 project, building for PocketPC 2000. On the ARM build, the linker throws the following error: fatal error LNK1223: invalid or corrupt file: file contains invalid pdata contributions On SH3, the project compiles, links, and works. The project also works when built for ARM on Visual C++ 2005, but I need to test builds specifically from eVC3. Any ideas, please? What's a pdata contribution and how do I affect (or disable) those? It's something to do with exception handling; I've tried disabling SEH by specifying /EHsc, to no effect.

• ASP.NET Charting Control no longer working with .NET 4

  I've just upgraded to .NET 4 and my ASP.NET Chart Control no longer displays. All I've done is to switch the System.Web.DataVisualization assembly from, 3.5 to 4.0. Any help greatly appreciated.

• Change an input's HTML5 placeholder color with CSS

  Chrome supports the placeholder attribute on input[type=text] elements (others probably do too). But the following CSS doesn't do diddly squat: <style> input[placeholder], [placeholder], *[placeholder] { color:red !important; } </style> <input type="text" placeholder="Value" /> "Value" will still be grey (er, gray. whatever) instead of red. Is there are way to change the color of the placeholder text? p.s. I'm already using the jQuery placeholder plugin for the browsers that don't support the placeholder attribute natively.

• Emacs X11 autocompletion (intellisense)

  Hi everyone, I use visual studio for day to day programming (read putting food in my mouth) but for personal programming (read c/c++ hacking) I use Emacs. Right now I am doing a programming exercise involving the X11 API. I am continually referring to the programming API manual to find the signature of function calls. What would be really nice would be if there was an emacs alternative to the visual studio intellisense. I know there is autocompletion for the language specifics. Is there such an extension available to Emacs? Or if not, is there way of creating one, maybe using the language specifics mechanism already used for auto completion?

• activeX component in axapta

  hi folks, i'm struggling with an .net activeX i try to use in ms axapta 2009. using this component on my local machine where it was compiled, it's working quite fine. it can be added as activeX element on a form, the methods and events are listed in the axapta-activeX-explorer and i can interact with it without any problems. but trying to distribute the dll to other clients isn't working as intended. the registration of the dll via regasm /codebase /tlb works properly - getting the message, registration was successful. the component is also listed when selecting an activeX-element to add in ax, but neither functions nor properties are listed. and launching the form results in an errormessage - activeX component CLSID ... not found on system, not installed. the classID is indeed the one, defined in .net. strange things happen, having a look on the task-manager. the activeX-component itself is just a wrapper to interact with a com-application. when launching the ax-form with the not working and _not_installed_!! activeX-thing, the taskmanager shows a new process of the com-application, which is instanciated by the activeX :/ things i tried: using different versions of regasm, eg \Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727 ; C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727 using new GUIDs in .net, prior removing the old ones from the registry compiling, using different versions of the .net framework doing registration via regasm, regasm /codebase, regasm /codebase /tlb, using a visual-studio-setup running registration via command-line as administrator running setup as administrator running even ax as administrator on client-machine moving dll to a different folder followed by new registration ( windows/system32; ax/client/bin ) installing to GAC ( gacutil /i ) different project-options in visual studio ( COM-Visibility; register for COM-Interop; different targetPlatform ) hoped for the fact, that compiling in visual studio with register for COM-Interop option enabled does something more than just the regasm-registration, i used a registry-monitor-microsoft-tool for logging the registry-activity which happend during compilation. using these logs to create all registry-entries on the target-client in addition didn't work either. any hints or help would be so much appreciated! this thing is blocking me for days now :(

My question: i want to design a database, that will be used for a production facility of different types of products where each product has its own (number of) parameters. because i want the serial numbers to be in one tabel for overview purposes i have a problem with these different paraeters . One solution could be EAV, but it has its downsides, certainly because we have +- 5 products with every product +- 20.000 serial numbers (records). it looks a bit overkill to me... I just don't know how one could design a database so that you have an attribute in a mastertable that says: 'hey, you could find details of this record in THAT detail-table". 'in a way that you qould easely query the results) currenty i am using Visual Basic & Acces 2007. but i'm going to Visual Basic & MySQL. thanks for your help. Bob

• Stretching width correctly to 100% of an inline-block element in IE6 and IE7

  I have the following markup, where I am attempting to get the right hand side of the second table to align with the right hand side of the heading above it. This works in IE8, Firefox and Chrome, but in IE6/7 the table is incorrectly stretched to fill the width of the page. I'm using the Trip Switch hasLayout trigger to apply inline-block in IE6/7. Does anyone know how (or even if) I can get the table only to fill the natural width of the wrapper element displayed with inline-block in IE6/7? • MIDL2003 Error in VC6 project

  While bug fixing I tracked a problem to an old vc6 compiled dll that hasn't been touched in nearly 3 years. After checking out the most recent source I am getting the following error when trying to compile. Processing C:\PROGRAM FILES\MICROSOFT SDK\INCLUDE\msxml.idl msxml.idl .\ocidl.idl(1524) : error MIDL2003 : redefinition : IErrorLog .\ocidl.idl(1541) : error MIDL2003 : redefinition : IPropertyBag Google gives lots of suggestions regarding Visual Studio 2002 - 2003 errors but I can't find anything that relates to Visual Studio 6 or can be applied to my problem. I did find this page but following it's advice didn't fix my problem. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? (I am presuming that it did work once.) Other items of interest: I have the February 2003 Platform SDK installed, and looking at the add/remove program page I have Micrsoft XML Parser and SDK, MSXML 4.0 SP2 and MSXML 6.0 Parser too.

• Co-Authors Wordpress Plugin: coauthors_wp_list_authors function not working correctly

  The Co-Authors Plus Plugin for Wordpress has a very annoying bug. The custom function coauthors_wp_list_authors lists authors the same way the wordpress function wp_list_authors does, but it does not include authors in the list who don't have a post of their own - if they have only entries in which they are listed as co-author but not as author, they will not be included in the list. That is of course missing a very important point. I've looked at the faulty SQL statement, but unfortunately my knowledge of advanced SQL, especially when it comes to JOINs, as well as my knowledge of the wp database structure is too limited and I remain clueless. There is a topic in the WP support forum, but unfortunately the information there is very outdated and the fix is not applicable anymore. I couldn't find any other, more current solutions on the internet. I'd be glad if somewhere here could help fix the SQL statement so it also lists co-authors who don't have posts where they're the sole author, as well as display the correct post count for all authors.
