  • Regex to extract this semi formatted data

    - by Codygman
Alright, I can't quite figure out how to do this. Given the following text: Roland AX-1: /start Roland's AX-1 strap-on remote MIDI controller has a very impressive 45-note velocity sensitive keyboard, and has switchable velocity curves, goes octave up/down, transpose, split/layering zones, and has fun tempo control for sequencers and more. Roland's AX-1 comes with a built-in GS control for total MIDI control of GM/GS synths. Its "Expression Bar" can control pitch and mod via an almost ribbon-like controller. It's also the newest and most advanced remote controller for your synths or midi modules. /end Roland AX-7: /start Roland's AX-7 builds on the infamous Roland AX-1 design. You just strap it on and put it to the front of the stage. Offering several controllers, such as: a D-Beam, then you can open the door to amazing live performance. 7-segment LED display, larger patch memory (Around 128 patches with MIDI data backup), and comes with GM2/GS compatibility make it extra easy to use. The 45-note, velocity-sensitive keyboard. 5 realtime controllers including a data entry knob, touch controller knob, opression bar, a hold button, and D-Beam. 128 patches with MIDI data backup. 2 MIDI zones. /end I'm trying to use the following: /^([\w\d \-]*):\s\s\s\s^\/start([^\:]*)\/end$/im You can see on rubular here: http://rubular.com/r/BVRRHsnWdp Thanks for any help. I guess i'm trying to match blocks of text until I hit the next title which always ends with a :$

  • VS2010 asking to upgrade SIlverlight??

    - by Lu10ntDan
I'm running the absolute latest versions of Silverlight and Visual Studio 2010 Professional and built a solution that contained a WPF project. From there, I added a SketchFlow project (based on Blend 4 RC) and I can run each project within the solution just fine by setting whenever I switch between them as startup projects. From there, I added a Silverlight 4 Business Application (taking all the defaults), and when simply trying to set that as the startup project and running it, VS2010 is giving me the following error after trying to open a web page: Line: 56 (in file TestPage.aspx) Error: Unhandled Error in Silverlight Application Code: 8001 Category: InitializeError Message: Upgrade required If I choose not to debug, I get the Silverlight page saying "This page requires a more recent version of Silverlight"! Clicking "Install Now" on the popup window brings me to Mirosoft's Silverlight page where I see: "The version of Silverlight originally requested is not available. You can get a supported version from this page. This Web browser or operating system may not be compatible with Silverlight. Please review the system requirements and, if you wish to proceed, choose the link for your operating system." If I choose to upgrade anyway, I'm told that I'm running the latest version of Silverlight available. What the heck? I'm running the final versions of VS2010 Pro, Silverlight 4, and the latest version of Expression Blend 4 (RC). Why can't VS2010 run this default Silverlight Business App? Any ideas? Please?? Thanks, Lu10ntDn PS. This is on Windows 7 with UAC turned off, and ALL latest Windows Updates installed.

  • Parsing Lisp S-Expressions with known schema in C#

    - by Drew Noakes
I'm working with a service that provides data as a Lisp-like S-Expression string. This data is arriving thick and fast, and I want to churn through it as quickly as possible, ideally directly on the byte stream (it's only single-byte characters) without any backtracking. These strings can be quite lengthy and I don't want the GC churn of allocating a string for the whole message. My current implementation uses CoCo/R with a grammar, but it has a few problems. Due to the backtracking, it assigns the whole stream to a string. It's also a bit fiddly for users of my code to change if they have to. I'd rather have a pure C# solution. CoCo/R also does not allow for the reuse of parser/scanner objects, so I have to recreate them for each message. Conceptually the data stream can be thought of as a sequence of S-Expressions: (item 1 apple)(item 2 banana)(item 3 chainsaw) Parsing this sequence would create three objects. The type of each object can be determined by the first value in the list, in the above case "item". The schema/grammar of the incoming stream is well known. Before I start coding I'd like to know if there are libraries out there that do this already. I'm sure I'm not the first person to have this problem.

  • How can I factor out repeated expressions in an SQL Query? Column aliases don't seem to be the ticke

    - by Weston C
So, I've got a query that looks something like this: SELECT id, DATE_FORMAT(CONVERT_TZ(callTime,'+0:00','-7:00'),'%b %d %Y') as callDate, DATE_FORMAT(CONVERT_TZ(callTime,'+0:00','-7:00'),'%H:%i') as callTimeOfDay, SEC_TO_TIME(callLength) as callLength FROM cs_calldata WHERE customerCode='999999-abc-blahblahblah' AND CONVERT_TZ(callTime,'+0:00','-7:00') >= '2010-04-25' AND CONVERT_TZ(callTime,'+0:00','-7:00') <= '2010-05-25' If you're like me, you probably start thinking that maybe it would improve readability and possibly the performance of this query if I wasn't asking it to compute CONVERT_TZ(callTime,'+0:00','-7:00') four separate times. So I try to create a column alias for that expression and replace further occurances with that alias: SELECT id, CONVERT_TZ(callTime,'+0:00','-7:00') as callTimeZoned, DATE_FORMAT(callTimeZoned,'%b %d %Y') as callDate, DATE_FORMAT(callTimeZoned,'%H:%i') as callTimeOfDay, SEC_TO_TIME(callLength) as callLength FROM cs_calldata WHERE customerCode='5999999-abc-blahblahblah' AND callTimeZoned >= '2010-04-25' AND callTimeZoned <= '2010-05-25' This is when I learned, to quote the MySQL manual: Standard SQL disallows references to column aliases in a WHERE clause. This restriction is imposed because when the WHERE clause is evaluated, the column value may not yet have been determined. So, that approach would seem to be dead in the water. How is someone writing queries with recurring expressions like this supposed to deal with it?

  • What shall be the code in xaml which makes a particular image to act as a button?

    - by Abhi
Dear all I am new to Silverlight. And i have to make a demo application where in designing is done by using Microsoft Expression Blend 2 and developing should be done using Visual Studio(c++). Now i am first trying to become familiar with xaml files. So i was trying to make a simple demo where in i have to create a button and that button should be replace with an png image. In order to do so i tried with the mentioned below example. But i was not able to see anything in the screen. <UserControl xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" x:Class="SilverlightApplication1.Page" Width="640" Height="480"> <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Background="White"> <Button x:Name="LogoutButton" > <Button.Template> <ControlTemplate> <Image Source="SilverlightApplication1\bounce_photo.png" /> </ControlTemplate> </Button.Template> </Button> </Grid> Please let me know where i am wrong and what shall i do to obtain the result. • Are there any libraries for parsing "number expressions" like 1,2-9,33- in Java

    - by mihi
Hi, I don't think it is hard, just tedious to write: Some small free (as in beer) library where I can put in a String like 1,2-9,33- and it can tell me whether a given number matches that expression. Just like most programs have in their print range dialogs. Special functions for matching odd or even numbers only, or matching every number that is 2 mod 5 (or something like that) would be nice, but not needed. The only operation I have to perform on this list is whether the range contains a given (nonnegative) integer value; more operations like max/min value (if they exist) or an iterator would be nice, of course. What would be needed that it does not occupy lots of RAM if anyone enters 1-10000000 but the only number I will ever query is 12345 :-) (To implement it, I would parse a list into several (min/max/value/mod) pairs, like 1,10,0,1 for 1-10 or 11,33,1,2 for 1-33odd, or 12,62,2,10 for 12-62/10 (i. e. 12, 22, 32, ..., 62) and then check each number for all the intervals. Open intervals by using Integer.MaxValue etc. If there are no libs, any ideas to do it better/more efficient?)

  • Will my LinqToSql execution be deffered if i filter with IEnumerable<T> instead of IQueryable<T>?

    - by cottsak
I have been using these common EntityObjectFilters as a "pipes and filters" way to query from a collection a particular item with an ID: public static class EntityObjectFilters { public static T WithID<T>(this IQueryable<T> qry, int ID) where T : IEntityObject { return qry.SingleOrDefault<T>(item => item.ID == ID); } public static T WithID<T>(this IList<T> list, int ID) where T : IEntityObject { return list.SingleOrDefault<T>(item => item.ID == ID); } } ..but i wondered to myself: "can i make this simpler by just creating an extension for all IEnumerable<T> types"? So i came up with this: public static class EntityObjectFilters { public static T WithID<T>(this IEnumerable<T> qry, int ID) where T : IEntityObject { return qry.SingleOrDefault<T>(item => item.ID == ID); } } Now while this appears to yield the same result, i want to know that when applied to IQueryable<T>s will the expression tree be passed to LinqToSql for evaluating as SQL code or will my qry be evaluated in it's entirety first, then iterated with Funcs? I'm suspecting that (as per Richard's answer) the latter will be true which is obviously what i don't want. I want the same result, but the added benefit of the delayed SQL execution for IQueryable<T>s. Can someone confirm for me what will actually happen and provide simple explanation as to how it would work?

  • Regular Expressions .NET

    - by Fosa
I need a regular expression for some arguments that must match on a string. here it is... The string exists out of minimum 8 en maximum 20 characters. These characters of this string may be characters of the alfabet or special chars --With other words..all charachters except from the whitespaces In the complete string there must be atleast 1 number. The string cannot start with a number or an underscore The last 2 characters of the string must be identical, But it doenst matter if those last --identical characters are capital or non-capital (case insensitive) Must match all : +234567899 a_1de*Gg xy1Me*__ !41deF_hij2lMnopq3ss C234567890123$^67800 *5555555 sDF564zer"" !!!!!!!!!4!!!!!!!!!! abcdefghijklmnopq9ss May not match : Cannot be less then 8 or more then 20 chars: a_1+Eff B41def_hIJ2lmnopq3stt Cannot contain a whitespace: A_4 e*gg b41def_Hij2l nopq3ss Cannot start with a number or an underscore: __1+Eff 841DEf_hij2lmnopq3stt cannot end on 2 diffrent characters: a_1+eFg b41DEf_hij2lmnopq3st Cannot be without a number in the string: abCDefghijklmnopqrss abcdef+++dF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ------------------------------------------------------ This is what I have so far...But I'm really breaking my head on this... If you Don't know the answer completely it's not a problem... I just want to get in the right direction ([^0-9_])(?=.*\d)(\S{8,20})(?i:[\S])\1

  • Difference between $ and # in ADF/JSF/JSP

    - by pavan.pvj
Found this one interesting. So, picked it from one of the books and posting here.JSP 2.1 and JSF 1.2 - both of them use a unified Expression language. One major and the most obvious difference is between $ and #. JSP 2.1 uses $ and JSF 1.2 uses # in an EL. $ - immediate evaluation# - deferred evaluation$ - $ syntax executes expressions eagerly/immediately, which means that the result is returned immediately when the page renders.# - # syntax defers the expression evaluation to a point defined by the implementing technology. In general, JSF uses deferred EL evaluation because of its multiple lifecycle phases in which events are handled. To ensure the model is prepared before the values are accessed by EL, it must defer EL evaluation until the appropriate point in the life cycle.Note: This is picked up from Oracle Fusion Developer Guide (ISBN: 9780071622547). There is also a very good article here:http://java.sun.com/products/jsp/reference/techart/unifiedEL.html

  • If there's no problem treating a statement as an expression, why was there a distinction in the first place in some programming languages?

    - by cdmckay
Why do we have the distinction between statements and expressions in most programming languages? For example, in Java, assuming f and g return ints, this still won't compile because it's a statement and statements don't return values. // won't compile int i = if (pred) { f(x); } else { g(x); } but in Scala, it's very happy with treating if as an expression. // compiles fine val i: Int = if (pred) f(x) else g(x) So if there's no problem treating an if statement as an expression, why was there a distinction in the first place?

  • Lambda&rsquo;s for .NET made easy&hellip;

    - by mbcrump
The purpose of my blog is to explain things for a beginner to intermediate c# programmer. I’ve seen several blog post that use lambda expressions always assuming the audience is familiar with them. The purpose of this post is to make them simple and easily understood. Let’s begin with a definition. A lambda expression is an anonymous function that can contain expressions and statements, and can be used to create delegates or expression tree types. So anonymous function… delegates or expression tree types? I don’t get it??? Confused yet?   Lets break this into a few definitions and jump right into the code. anonymous function – is an "inline" statement or expression that can be used wherever a delegate type is expected. delegate - is a type that references a method. Once a delegate is assigned a method, it behaves exactly like that method. The delegate method can be used like any other method, with parameters and a return value. Expression trees - represent code in a tree-like data structure, where each node is an expression, for example, a method call or a binary operation such as x < y.   Don’t worry if this still sounds confusing, lets jump right into the code with a simple 3 line program. We are going to use a Function Delegate (all you need to remember is that this delegate returns a value.) Lambda expressions are used most commonly with the Func and Action delegates, so you will see an example of both of these. Lambda Expression 3 lines. using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text;   namespace ConsoleApplication7 {     class Program     {          static void Main(string[] args)         {             Func<int, int> myfunc = x => x *x;             Console.WriteLine(myfunc(6).ToString());             Console.ReadLine();         }       } } Is equivalent to Old way of doing it. using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text;   namespace ConsoleApplication7 {     class Program     {          static void Main(string[] args)         {               Console.WriteLine(myFunc(6).ToString());             Console.ReadLine();         }            static int myFunc(int x)          {              return x * x;            }       } } In the example, there is a single parameter, x, and the expression is x*x. I’m going to stop here to make sure you are still with me. A lambda expression is an unnamed method written in place of a delegate instance. In other words, the compiler converts the lambda expression to either a : A delegate instance An expression tree All lambda have the following form: (parameters) => expression or statement block Now look back to the ones we have created. It should start to sink in. Don’t get stuck on the => form, use it as an identifier of a lambda. A Lamba expression can also be written in the following form: Lambda Expression. using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text;   namespace ConsoleApplication7 {     class Program     {          static void Main(string[] args)         {             Func<int, int> myFunc = x =>             {                 return x * x;             };               Console.WriteLine(myFunc(6).ToString());             Console.ReadLine();         }       } } This form may be easier to read but consumes more space. Lets try an Action delegate – this delegate does not return a value. Action Delegate example. using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text;   namespace ConsoleApplication7 {     class Program     {          static void Main(string[] args)         {             Action<string> myAction = (string x) => { Console.WriteLine(x); };             myAction("michael has made this so easy");                                   Console.ReadLine();         }       } } Lambdas can also capture outer variables (such as the example below) A lambda expression can reference the local variables and parameters of the method in which it’s defined. Outer variables referenced by a lambda expression are called captured variables. Capturing Outer Variables using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text;   namespace ConsoleApplication7 {     class Program     {          static void Main(string[] args)         {             string mike = "Michael";             Action<string> myAction = (string x) => {                 Console.WriteLine("{0}{1}", mike, x);          };             myAction(" has made this so easy");                                   Console.ReadLine();         }       } } Lamba’s can also with a strongly typed list to loop through a collection.   Used w a strongly typed list. using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text;   namespace ConsoleApplication7 {     class Program     {          static void Main(string[] args)         {             List<string> list = new List<string>() { "1", "2", "3", "4" };             list.ForEach(s => Console.WriteLine(s));             Console.ReadLine();         }       } } Outputs: 1 2 3 4 I think this will get you started with Lambda’s, as always consult the MSDN documentation for more information. Still confused? Hopefully you are not.

  • What is the best regular expression for validating email addresses?

    - by acrosman
Over the years I have slowly developed a regular expression that validates MOST email addresses correctly, assuming they don't use an IP address as the server part. Currently the expression is: ^[_a-z0-9-]+(\.[_a-z0-9-]+)*@[a-z0-9-]+(\.[a-z0-9-]+)*(\.[a-z]{2,4})$ I use this in several PHP programs, and it works most of the time. However, from time to time I get contacted by someone that is having trouble with a site that uses it, and I end up having to make some adjustment (most recently I realized that I wasn't allowing 4-character TLDs). What's the best regular expression you have or have seen for validating emails? I've seen several solutions that use functions that use several shorter expressions, but I'd rather have one long complex expression in a simple function instead of several short expression in a more complex function.

  • Nested AccordionItem. Inner AccordionItem do not expand.

    - by Ali
In Silverlight an AccordionItem is inside another one . When the inner one is selected, it can not expand its parent more which is already expanded to show its own content. I tried to get around it by templating but I was unlucky. • Silverlight 3 Application Background

    - by Rich Blumer
I am new to Silverlight development. I have created a nice png file in Expression Design. I would like to use this png file as the background for my application. When I set the Stretch property to fill, it does not fill the entire page like I think it should. • How do you make the scale animation begin at the middle of the object instead of the top left?

    - by Roy
    What I am trying to accomplish: 10 percent increase scale transformation of a rectangle via Silverlight storyboard animation. What I currently doing: While in Expression Blend 3, I created a rectangle, created a storyboard, and created the scale transformation. The preview looked correct because the increase in scale begins in the middle of the object. When I run the project the scale transformation begins at the top left. Is there some piece of code missing? Here is my current code: <UserControl xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" x:Class="TestingGroundsWebsite.MainPage" Width="640" Height="480"> <UserControl.Resources> <Storyboard x:Name="RectangleAppear"> <DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames BeginTime="00:00:00" Storyboard.TargetName="rectangle" Storyboard.TargetProperty="(UIElement.RenderTransform).(TransformGroup.Children)[0].(ScaleTransform.ScaleX)"> <EasingDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00" Value="0.1"/> <EasingDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:01" Value="1.1"/> <EasingDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:02" Value="1"/> </DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames> <DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames BeginTime="00:00:00" Storyboard.TargetName="rectangle" Storyboard.TargetProperty="(UIElement.RenderTransform).(TransformGroup.Children)[0].(ScaleTransform.ScaleY)"> <EasingDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00" Value="0.1"/> <EasingDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:01" Value="1.1"/> <EasingDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:02" Value="1"/> </DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames> </Storyboard> </UserControl.Resources> <Canvas x:Name="LayoutRoot" Background="White"> <Rectangle x:Name="rectangle" Fill="#FFE80000" Stroke="Black" Height="75" Width="76" Canvas.Left="227" Canvas.Top="167" RenderTransformOrigin="0.5,0.5"> <Rectangle.RenderTransform> <TransformGroup> <ScaleTransform/> <SkewTransform/> <RotateTransform/> <TranslateTransform/> </TransformGroup> </Rectangle.RenderTransform> </Rectangle> </Canvas> </UserControl> Thanks

This is coming from a validation template: <ControlTemplate x:Key="ValidationTemplate"> <DockPanel> <TextBlock Foreground="Red" FontSize="20" Panel.ZIndex="-10">!</TextBlock> <Border Name="validationBorder" BorderBrush="Red" BorderThickness="2" Padding="1" CornerRadius="3" Panel.ZIndex="-10"> <Border.Resources> <Storyboard x:Key="_blink"> <ColorAnimationUsingKeyFrames AutoReverse="True" BeginTime="00:00:00" Storyboard.TargetName="validationBorder" Storyboard.TargetProperty="(Border.BorderBrush).(SolidColorBrush.Color)" RepeatBehavior="Forever"> <SplineColorKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:1" Value="#00FF0000"/> </ColorAnimationUsingKeyFrames> </Storyboard> </Border.Resources> <Border.Triggers> <EventTrigger RoutedEvent="FrameworkElement.Loaded"> <BeginStoryboard Storyboard="{StaticResource _blink}" /> </EventTrigger> </Border.Triggers> <AdornedElementPlaceholder/> </Border> </DockPanel> </ControlTemplate> The dialog: <UserControl xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008" xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" x:Class="GunMiser.Controls.PendingChangesConfirmationDialog" Height="768" Width="1024" mc:Ignorable="d"> <Grid Background="White"> <Rectangle x:Name="MainRectangle" Margin="0,0,0,0" Style="{DynamicResource UserControlOverlayRectangleStyle}" Opacity="0.85"/> <Border Margin="288,250,278,288" Background="#FF868686" BorderBrush="Black" BorderThickness="1"> <Border.Effect> <DropShadowEffect Color="#FFB6B2B2"/> </Border.Effect> <TextBlock x:Name="textBlockMessage" Margin="7,29,7,97" TextWrapping="Wrap" d:LayoutOverrides="VerticalAlignment" TextAlignment="Center"/> </Border> <Button x:Name="OkButton" Click="OkButton_Click" Margin="313,0,0,328" VerticalAlignment="Bottom" Height="24" Content="Save Changes" Style="{DynamicResource GunMiserButtonStyle}" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Width="103"/> <Button Click="CancelButton_Click" Margin="453.294,0,456,328" VerticalAlignment="Bottom" Height="24" Content="Cancel Changes" Style="{DynamicResource GunMiserButtonStyle}"/> <Button Click="CancelActionButton_Click" Margin="0,0,304,328" VerticalAlignment="Bottom" Height="24" Content="Go Back" Style="{DynamicResource GunMiserButtonStyle}" HorizontalAlignment="Right" Width="114.706"/> </Grid> </UserControl> And the overall window is: <Window x:Class="GunMiser.Views.Shell" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:cal="http://www.codeplex.com/CompositeWPF" xmlns:controls="clr-namespace:GunMiser.Controls;assembly=GunMiser.Controls" Title="Gun Miser" Height="768" Width="1024"> <Canvas> <controls:PendingChangesConfirmationDialog x:Name="PendingChangesConfirmationDialog" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" Margin="0,0,0,0" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Width="1008" Height="730" Visibility="Collapsed" Panel.ZIndex="100" /> <ContentControl x:Name="FilterRegion" cal:RegionManager.RegionName="FilterRegion" Width="326" Height="656" Canvas.Top="32" VerticalAlignment="Top" HorizontalAlignment="Left" /> <ContentControl Name="WorkspaceRegion" cal:RegionManager.RegionName="WorkspaceRegion" Width="678" Height="726" Canvas.Left="330" VerticalAlignment="Top" HorizontalAlignment="Left"/> <Button Click="GunsButton_Click" Width="75" Height="25" Content="Guns" Canvas.Top="3" Style="{DynamicResource GunMiserButtonStyle}"/> <Button Click="OpticsButton_Click" Width="75" Height="25" Content="Optics" Canvas.Left="81" Canvas.Top="3" Style="{DynamicResource GunMiserButtonStyle}"/> <Button Click="SettingsButton_Click" Width="56" Height="28" Content="Settings" Canvas.Left="944" Style="{DynamicResource GunMiserButtonStyle}" HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Top"/> <Button Click="AccessoriesButton_Click" Width="75" Height="25" Content="Accessories" Canvas.Left="239" Canvas.Top="3" Style="{DynamicResource GunMiserButtonStyle}"/> <Button Click="AmmunitionButton_Click" Width="75" Height="25" Content="Ammunition" Canvas.Left="160" Canvas.Top="3" Style="{DynamicResource GunMiserButtonStyle}"/> </Canvas> </Window>

  • How do you unit test a LINQ expression using Moq and Machine.Specifications?

    - by Phil.Wheeler
I'm struggling to get my head around how to accommodate a mocked repository's method that only accepts a Linq expression as its argument. Specifically, the repository has a First() method that looks like this: public T First(Expression<Func<T, bool>> expression) { return All().Where(expression).FirstOrDefault(); } The difficulty I'm encountering is with my MSpec tests, where I'm (probably incorrectly) trying to mock that call: public abstract class with_userprofile_repository { protected static Mock<IRepository<UserProfile>> repository; Establish context = () => { repository = new Mock<IRepository<UserProfile>>(); repository.Setup<UserProfile>(x => x.First(up => up.OpenID == @"http://testuser.myopenid.com")).Returns(GetDummyUser()); }; protected static UserProfile GetDummyUser() { UserProfile p = new UserProfile(); p.OpenID = @"http://testuser.myopenid.com"; p.FirstName = "Joe"; p.LastLogin = DateTime.Now.Date.AddDays(-7); p.LastName = "Bloggs"; p.Email = "[email protected]"; return p; } } I run into trouble because it's not enjoying the Linq expression: System.NotSupportedException: Expression up = (up.OpenID = "http://testuser.myopenid.com") is not supported. So how does one test these sorts of scenarios?

  • LinqKit System.InvalidCastException When Invoking method-provided expression on member property.

    - by mdworkin
Given a simple parent/child class structure. I want to use linqkit to apply a child lambda expression on the parent. I also want the Lambda expression to be provided by a utility method. public class Foo { public Bar Bar { get; set; } } public class Bar { public string Value { get; set; } public static Expression<Func<Bar, bool>> GetLambdaX() { return c => c.Value == "A"; } } ... Expression<Func<Foo, bool>> lx = c => Bar.GetLambdaX().Invoke(c.Bar); Console.WriteLine(lx.Expand()); The above code throws System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'System.Linq.Expressions.MethodCallExpression' to type 'System.Linq.Expressions.LambdaExpression'. at LinqKit.ExpressionExpander.VisitMethodCall(MethodCallExpression m) at LinqKit.ExpressionVisitor.Visit(Expression exp) at LinqKit.ExpressionVisitor.VisitLambda(LambdaExpression lambda) at LinqKit.ExpressionVisitor.Visit(Expression exp) at LinqKit.Extensions.Expand<TDelegate>(Expression`1 expr) .... Please help!

  • How do I make a simple image-based button with visual states in Silverlight 3?

    - by Jacob
At my previous company, we created our RIAs using Flex with graphical assets created in Flash. In Flash, you could simply lay out your graphics for different states, i.e. rollover, disabled. Now, I'm working on a Silverlight 3 project. I've been given a bunch of images that need to serve as the graphics for buttons that have a rollover, pressed, and normal state. I cannot figure out how to simply create buttons with different images for different visual states in Visual Studio 2008 or Expression Blend 3. Here's where I am currently. My button is defined like this in the XAML: <Button Style="{StaticResource MyButton}"/> The MyButton style appears as follows: <Style x:Key="MyButton" TargetType="Button"> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="Button"> <Image Source="/Assets/Graphics/mybtn_up.png" Width="54" Height="24"> <VisualStateManager.VisualStateGroups> <VisualStateGroup x:Name="FocusStates"> <VisualState x:Name="Focused"/> <VisualState x:Name="Unfocused"/> </VisualStateGroup> <VisualStateGroup x:Name="CommonStates"> <VisualState x:Name="Normal"/> <VisualState x:Name="MouseOver"/> <VisualState x:Name="Pressed"/> <VisualState x:Name="Disabled"/> </VisualStateGroup> </VisualStateManager.VisualStateGroups> </Image> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> I cannot figure out how to assign a different template to different states, nor how to change the image's source based on which state I'm in. How do I do this? Also, if you know of any good documentation that describes how styles work in Silverlight, that would be great. All of the search results I can come up with are frustratingly unhelpful. Edit: I found a way to change the image via storyboards like this: <Style x:Key="MyButton" TargetType="Button"> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="Button"> <Image Source="/Assets/Graphics/mybtn_up.png" Width="54" Height="24" x:Name="Image"> <VisualStateManager.VisualStateGroups> <VisualStateGroup x:Name="FocusStates"> <VisualState x:Name="Focused"/> <VisualState x:Name="Unfocused"/> </VisualStateGroup> <VisualStateGroup x:Name="CommonStates"> <VisualState x:Name="Normal"/> <VisualState x:Name="MouseOver"> <Storyboard Storyboard.TargetName="Image" Storyboard.TargetProperty="Source"> <ObjectAnimationUsingKeyFrames> <DiscreteObjectKeyFrame KeyTime="0" Value="/Assets/Graphics/mybtn_over.png"/> </ObjectAnimationUsingKeyFrames> </Storyboard> </VisualState> <VisualState x:Name="Pressed"> <Storyboard Storyboard.TargetName="Image" Storyboard.TargetProperty="Source"> <ObjectAnimationUsingKeyFrames> <DiscreteObjectKeyFrame KeyTime="0" Value="/Assets/Graphics/mybtn_active.png"/> </ObjectAnimationUsingKeyFrames> </Storyboard> </VisualState> <VisualState x:Name="Disabled"/> </VisualStateGroup> </VisualStateManager.VisualStateGroups> </Image> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> However, this seems like a strange way of doing things to me. Is there a more standard way of accomplishing this?

  • SQL SERVER – Retrieve SQL Server Installation Date Time

    - by pinaldave
I have been asked this question number of times and my answer always have been – search online and you will find the answer. Every single time when someone has followed my answer – they have found accurate answer in first few clicks. However increasingly this question getting very popular so I have decided to answer this question here. I usually prefer to create my own T-SQL script but in today’s case, I have taken the script from web. I have seen this script at so many places I do not know who is original creator so not sure who should get credit for the same. Question: How to retrieve SQL Server Installation date? Answer: Run following query and it will give you date of SQL Server Installation. SELECT create_date FROM sys.server_principals WHERE sid = 0x010100000000000512000000 Question: I have installed SQL Server Evaluation version how do I know what is the expiry date for it? Answer: SQL Server evaluation period is for 180 days. The expiration date is always 180 days from the initial installation. Following query will give an expiration date of evaluation version. -- Evaluation Version Expire Date SELECT create_date AS InstallationDate, DATEADD(DD, 180, create_date) AS 'Expiry Date' FROM sys.server_principals WHERE sid = 0x010100000000000512000000 GO I believe there is a way to do the same using registry but I have not explored it personally. Now as I said earlier there are many different blog posts on this subject. Let me list a few which I really enjoyed to read personally as they shared few more insights over this subject.
