  • drop down not retaining selected value after post back

    I'm using classic asp, I have a drop down list that the user selects and then presses submit. After they press submit the drop down list is going back to the default value instead of what they selected. Is there anyway to keep the state of the drop down between post backs instead of it going back to the default? Can post code sample if needed. Thanks!

  • Folders without Namespaces C#, .Net, VS 2008

    I'm working on an ASP.NET webapp using the MVP pattern, and as I'm organizing my files I'm wondering - are there conventions on folders within projects and how they relate to namespaces? I have a bunch of controls and a bunch of pages, and I was going to throw them into Controls and Pages folders with subfolders, but I didn't know if it was bad form to do this if I wasn't also going to seperate them out into namespaces.   • Redirecting page from IFrame to Parent when session expire

    I have IFrame load one of the menu item click in that page left side I have tree structure and top of the page menu Items.Center of the page loading with IFrame.Whenever session going to expire I am giving alert(session will expire soon). But this alert is coming for Iframe window (after some seconds complete) as well as parent page.That means two alerts are coming whenever session going to expire .That alert should come on parent page not in Iframe page.How to avoid this?

  • android playback suddenly stopping...

    I have an app that is streaming audio content and sometimes it just stops all of the suddent. the logcat windows shows -- AudioHardware pcm playback is going to standby and that's it. I saw on another thread (pun intended) that someone was saying it was because he was using too many threads. Could that really be causing this? Could i give the audio thread higher priority? Anyway to prevent the audio hardware pcm from going to standby?

  • Why do I need an intermediate conversion to go from struct to decimal, but not struct to int?

    I have a struct like this, with an explicit conversion to float: struct TwFix32 { public static explicit operator float(TwFix32 x) { ... } } I can convert a TwFix32 to int with a single explicit cast: (int)fix32 But to convert it to decimal, I have to use two casts: (decimal)(float)fix32 There is no implicit conversion from float to either int or decimal. Why does the compiler let me omit the intermediate cast to float when I'm going to int, but not when I'm going to decimal?

  • increase ssh timeout

    I'm trying to connect to a mobile host connected over a 3G cell router from linux with ssh [email protected] -p 2200 and all I immediately get is (doesn't even seem to run into a timeout) ssh: connect to host 74.198.25.220 port 2200: Network is unreachable However, when I try the same IP on port 2200 with putty on Windows, it presents my with the password prompt just fine as I'd expect. What's going on here, do I need to increment my ssh timeout period to get this going or what? Thank you, Ron

With my setup, it is going to be most beneficial for me to move everything into a common subfolder, leaving the index.php of the Cake app in the root. I.e: /www/ | +--index.php | | +-- resources | +-- js/ | | | +-- xyz.js | +-- css/ | | | +--xyz.css | +---etc..... What is my .htaccess going to look like? Thanks!

    This is kinda like my earlier question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2451175/c-vector3-type-wall Except, now, I want to do this to a builtin rather then a user created type. So I want a type "Length" that behaves just like float -- except I'm going to make it's constructor explicit, so I have to explicitly construct Length objects (rather than have random conversions flying around). Basically, I'm going into the type-a-lot camp.

  • Easy way to keep counting up infinitely

    What's a good way to keep counting up infinitely? I'm trying to write a condition that will keep going until there's no value in a database, so it's going to iterate from 0, up to theoretically infinity (inside a try block, of course). How would I count upwards infinitely? Or should I use something else? I am looking for something similar to i++ in other languages, where it keeps iterating until failure.

  • iPhone UITextView leaves room for 2 lines at the bottom

    Hi Guys, When i start typing text in a default textView in my viewcontroller, its not going to the bottom of the textfield. It leaves room for 2 more lines of text and then starts scrolling.     I'm following this awful textbook, going through the basics of create/edit/delete records. The delete bit has a confirm button, and it is handled like so: [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Delete(int id, string confirmButton) { It offers no explanation of why the button is passed as a string or how MVC interprets it. Can anyone help clarify what's going on here? The Create code has no such string being passed.
