• Global find object references in NHibernate

  Is it possible to perform a global reversed-find on NHibernate-managed objects? Specifically, I have a persistent class called "Io". There are a huge number of fields across multiple tables which can potentially contain an object of that type. Is there a way (given a specific instance of an Io object), to retrieve a list of objects (of any type) that actually do reference that specific object? (Bonus points if it can identify which specific fields actually contain the reference, but that's not critical.) Since the NHibernate mappings define all the links (and the underlying database has corresponding foreign key links), there ought to be some way to do it.

  Hi guys, I have been charged with the task of analysing the log table of my company's website. This table contains a user's click path throughout the website for a given session. My company is looking to understand/spot trends based on the 'click paths' of our users. In doing so, identify groups of users that take on a certain 'click path' based on age/geography and so on. As you can tell from the title, I am completely new to BI and its capabilities so I was wondering: Are our objectives attainable? How should I go about doing this? I am currently reading books online as well as other e-books I have found. All signs seem to suggest this is possible via sequence clustering. Although the exact implementation and tweaks involved are currently lost on me. Therefore, if anyone has first hand experience in such an undertaking, I would be awesome if you could share it here.   I want to understand event cycles. I have a form with a grid and textboxes. It has a grid, bound to DataTable, and textboxes bound to same table too. I'm trying to debug something and need to know how to identify ALL events fired in the form to see what may solve an issue for me. Anyhow, unless I explicitly subclass every class on my form, and override / attach to every event to my own event handlers, how can I get / listen to all events being fired during a certain action... Such as changing a "Selected" road in a DataGridView. It obviously updates its own "CurrentRow"... I need to know what / how to maybe FORCE a re-loading of SAME CurrentRow. Reason: during a form level "Edit Mode", and I change the content in another "Textbox" control, and reject changes, I need it to simulate the current "Record" is reloaded to go back to its original values.

• Project change makes qtp to fail

  We are using 2 or more projects in an application to be opened. For e.g. HT1000 & HT1200 will be opened by the application, objects are the same(or common) for both the projects. Code uses the values in excel framework for running the test cases as parent to identify the child objects for e.g. Window("HT1000").Dialog("parts").Click("OK") but when we just change the parent name in excel framework as "HT1200" the objects for HT1200 are not getting accessed. How to resolve this? Is it needed to again add the HT1200 project & objects in the object repo of qtp?

I have no idea what it means. Should i install this ImageMagick? I tried installing it as a plugin as per this page. This also returns an error that "plugin not found". what am i missing here?

  I need to distinguish between a Queens style address, from a valid ranged address, and an address with a unit#. For eg: Queens style: 123-125 Some Street, NY Ranged Address: 6414-6418 37th Ln SE, Olympia, WA 98503 Address with unit#: 1990-A Gildersleeve Ave, Bronx, NY. In the case of #3, A is a unit# at street address 1990. THe unit# might be a number as well, for eg: 1990-12. A ranged address identifies a range of addresses on a street, and not a unique deliverable address. So, the question is, is there an easy way to identify the Queens style address from the other cases?

• Can a http server detect that a client has cancelled their request?

  My web app must process and serve a lot of data to display certain pages. Sometimes, the user closes or refreshes a page while the server is still busy processing it. This means the server will continue to process data for several minutes only to send it to a client who is no longer listening. Is it possible to detect that the connection has been broken, and react to it? In this particular project, we're using Django and NginX, or Apache. I assumed this is possible because the Django development server appears to react to cancelled requests by printing Broken Pipe exceptions. I'd love to have it raise an exception that my application code could catch. Alternatively, I could register an unload event handler on the page in question, have it do a synchronous XHR requesting that the previous request from this user be cancelled, and do some kind of inter-process communication to make it so. Perhaps if the slower data processing were handed to another process that I could more easily identify and kill, without killing the responding process...

• Dynamically creating a member ID card as pdf using PHP?

  I need to code a PHP script that would let me generate a pdf file which displays a member ID card (something like a credit card used to identify oneself) at a certain resolution. Let me explain: I do have the basic blueprint of the card in png file format. The script needs to drop in a member's name and birthday along with a serial. So far, no problem - there are plenty of good working PHP libraries out there. My problem is to ensure that the resulting pdf (the generated image of the card, to be precise) meets a certain resolution (preferably 300dpi), so that printing it would look right. Any ideas?   If I have a chunk of css styles that are applied within a certain page element, I would like to group them rather than identify the containing page element for each style. For example, I would like to turn: #bodywrap #leftcolumn p {...} #bodywrap #leftcolumn div {...} #bodywrap #leftcolumn .highlight {...} into something like: #bodywrap #leftcolumn [ p {...} div {...} .highlight {...} ] where everything contained in the brackets respects the containing declarations. • Access MP3 audio data independently of ID3 tags?

  Hi, this is a 2 part question. First off, is it possible to access the audio data in an MP3 independently of the ID3 tags, and secondly, is there any way to do so using available libraries? I recently consolidated my music collection from 3 computers and ended up with songs which had changed ID3 tags, but the audio data itself was unmodified. Running a search for duplicate files failed because the file changed with the ID3 tag change, but I think it should be possible to identify duplicate files if I just run a deduplication using the audio data for comparison. I know that it's possible to seek to a particular position past the ID3 header in the file, and directly read the data, but was wondering if there's a library that would expose the audio data so I could just extract the data, run a checksum on it, and store the computed result somewhere, then look for identical checksums. (Also, I'd probably have to use some kind of library when you take into account variable length headers.)

• See if any application has a DLL from the GAC loaded

  I'm trying to deploy new copies of my DLL to the GAC on remote servers, but I need to identify if any processes currently running have a loaded copy of the DLL I'm replacing - I'd like to restart them, or at least tell the user. For example, Biztalk seems to load the DLLs it needs the first time they're used, and then replacing them keeps the old copy in memory until the Host Instances are restarted - something I could easily do as part of my deployment. Is there a way to tell using .NET which processes have loaded a particular DLL from the GAC? UPDATE: Some further investigation shows that both Process Explorer has this functionality, and another Sysinternals tool, ListDLL, does exactly what I want to be able to do. I'd like to know how they do it, since I'd love to replicate this functionality in my application without having to include and screen-scrape ListDLL (if that's even allowed inside the license).

• Rmagick Fails To Manipulate PNG

  Following the Railscast episode on CarrierWave: I installed ImageMagick on Mountain Lion via homebrew, exported the following path: export PKG_CONFIG_PATH="/opt/local/lib/pkgconfig:$PKG_CONFIG_PATH" Symlinked the following: ln -s /usr/local/include/ImageMagick/wand /usr/local/include/wand ln -s /usr/local/include/ImageMagick/magick /usr/local/include/magick And installed rmagick via bundler. In my uploader I have the following: include CarrierWave::RMagick version :thumb do process :resize_to_limit => [85, 85] end Which creates thumbnails just fine, but not for png files. I've tried a handful of png images and it always fails with this error: Failed to manipulate with rmagick, maybe it is not an image? Original Error: no decode delegate for this image format `<path>/public/uploads/tmp/20121022-2133-9885-3333/thumb_cat_vs_internet.png' @ error/constitute.c/ReadImage/544 jpeg images work just fine. EDIT identify -list format | grep -i png returns nothing, indicating the png decode delegate is probably missing. Now what?

• Filtering out emoticons using sed

  Hello, I have a grep expression using cygwin grep on Win. grep -a "\\,,/\|\\m/\|\\m/\\>\.</\\m/\|:u" all_fbs.txt > rockon_fbs.txt Once I identify the emoticon class, however, I want to strip them out of the data. However, the same regexp above within a sed results in a syntax error (yes, I realize I could use /d instead of //g, but this doesn't make a difference, I still get the error.) sed "s/\(\\,,/\|\\m/\|\\m/\\>\.</\\m/\|:u\)*//g" The full line is: grep -a "\\,,/\|\\m/\|\\m/\\>\.</\\m/\|:u" all_fbs.txt | sed "s/\(\\,,/\|\\m/\|\\m/\\>\.</\\m/\|:u\)*//g" | sed "s/^/ROCKON\t/" > rockon_fbs.txt The result is: sed: -e expression #1, char 14: unknown option to `s' I know it's coming from the sed regexp I'm asking about it b/c if I remove that portion of the full line, then I get no error (but, of course, the emoticons are not filtered out). • What do the square brackets in LaTeX logs mean?

  I'm currently working on a parser that reads complete LaTeX logs. Most of the log format is, though weird, easy to figure out, but these square brackets are puzzling me. Here's an example from near the end of one of my logs: Overfull \hbox (10.88788pt too wide) in paragraph at lines 40--40 []$[]$ [] [102]) [103] Kapitel 14. (./Thermo-141-GrenzenFundamentalpostulat.tex [104 ]) (./Thermo-142-Mastergleichung.tex [105]) (./Thermo-143-HTheorem.tex [106pdfTeX warning (ext4): destination with the same identifier (name{equation.14.3.3}) ha s been already used, duplicate ignored Can anybody give me a hint what these square brackets mean? I can't see any structure in them. I have the suspicion that lines 2/3 above are some kind of ASCII art representing the box layout, though I know too less about badboxes to justify this or identify the meaning of the single characters. Then, the "[104" etc. seem to correspond to the page numbers, but I am still not seeing the reason why there is sometimes something inbetween the square brackets (like the pdfTeX warning above), and sometimes not.

• .NET Setup Package Installer

  Hi, I have a .NET 3.5 Setup Package Project which installs my application successfully. The setup package deploys a number (around 70) custom files for use from within the application. From time to time I have the requirement of deleting some of these files, however upon restarting the executable, it automatically runs a portion of the Setup MSI again, and re-installs these files. The only way I can achieve my desired result at the moment is to delete the files after starting the executable. I have looked through the attributes on the files in the setup package such as Vital and PackageAs, however cannot seem to identify the required setting to achieve this. Does anybody have any idea what is needed to acheive this ? Much thanks

• Oracle global lock across process

  I would like to synchronize access to a particular insert. Hence, if multiple applications execute this "one" insert, the inserts should happen one at a time. The reason behind synchronization is that there should only be ONE instance of this entity. If multiple applications try to insert the same entity,only one should succeed and others should fail. One option considered was to create a composite unique key, that would uniquely identify the entity and rely on unique constraint. For some reasons, the dba department rejected this idea. Other option that came to my mind was to create a stored proc for the insert and if the stored proc can obtain a global lock, then multiple applications invoking the same stored proc, though in their seperate database sessions, it is expected that the stored proc can obtain a global lock and hence serialize the inserts. My question is it possible to for a stored proc in oracle version 10/11, to obtain such a lock and any pointers to documentation would be helpful.

In the database there is a resource table like RESOURCE_ID, CODE, NODE The content of the NODE column can be 1 or 2 depending on which node can use it. As I need to deploy the same ear to the two nodes, I would like to map this table like this: <hibernate-mapping> <class name="ResourceVO" table="RESOURCE" dynamic-update="true" optimistic-lock="dirty" where="NODE=${node.value}" > I would like to store the node.value property on the file system, so the instances could identify which resource to use.
