• Make XStream ignore one specific private variable

  Hi guys, I have a little problem with a class I am currently writing a save function for. I'm using XStream (com.thoughtworks.xstream) to serialize a class to XML using the DOMDriver. The class looks like this: public class World { private Configuration config; public World(Configuration config) { this.config = config; } } So, the issue here is that I do not want to serialize Configuration when serializing world, rather I'd like to give XStream a preconstructed Configuration instance when calling fromXml(). Problem here is mainly class design, Configuration holds a private reference to the GUI classes and therefore serializing Configuration means serializing the whole application completely with GUI etc.. And that's kind of bad. Is there a way to instruct XStream to not serialize the private field config, and upon load supply XStream with a configuration instance to use? greetings Daniel

  Been searching around for a bit and cannot find a solution for this one. I guess I'm looking for a leaf-directory by name. In this example I'd like to get a list of directories call 'modules' that do NOT have a subdirectory called module. modules/package1/modules/spackage1 modules/package1/modules/spackage2 modules/package1/modules/spackage3/modules modules/package1/modules/spackage3/modules/spackage1 modules/package2/modules/ The list I desire would contain modules/package1/modules/spackage3/modules/ modules/package2/modules/ All the directories named module that do not have a subdirectory called module I started with trying something this with no luck find . -name modules \! -exec sh -c 'find -name modules' \; -exec works on exit code, okay lets pass the count as exit code find . -name modules -exec sh -c 'exit $(find {} -name modules|grep -n ""|tail -n1|cut -d: -f1)' \; This should take the count of each subdirectory called modules and exit with it. No such love.

  I've added the appropriate XML to my PLIST ("audio key") and my app did stream audio in the background. I installed the app on to an iPhone 3GS running iOS 4 via Ad Hoc distribution. I played audio in my app and pressed the home key. It was still playing. Then I switched computers and reset my provisioning profile. I recompiled and exported with a generic provisioning profile. I sent the app to someone else to test on their 3GS via Ad Hoc and the app does not work in the background.

  Is it possible to combine the following properties, and if so, how? Store in our version control system some Visual Studio 2008 native C++ project files for the developers in our team that use this IDE. Allow some of those developers to tweak their projects (e.g. using debug version of third-party libraries instead of the usual ones). Make sure these modifications are done in files that are not versioned. In other words, I would like to allow developers to tweak some settings in their projects without risking that these changes are committed. An 'optional VSPROP' file approach seems doomed to fail, as VS2008 refuses to load projects that refer to non-existent VSPROP files... Any other suggestion? Is this possible with VS2010?

  Hello, I have an @url.Action in which I pass a parameter to the action. When the parameter is null, I would like to just do nothing and stay on the same page. What I have done is the following: routes.MapRoute( null, "Test/View/{Id}", new { controller = "Test", action = "View" }, new { Id = @"\d+" } //id must be numerical ); routes.IgnoreRoute("Test/View/{*pathInfo}"); The action is not executed but my problem is that I get this: Description: HTTP 404.   Background story: when a user selects a portion of text in a text field with her mouse (mark it up manually), and subsequently hits "alt" key, a certain function would trigger. My questions are: How can I trigger a function when a user hits a key (in her keyboard)? How can I preserve a portion of text selected, and use it as a parameter for that function? Doesn't the compiler understand the constraint I've added on DummyImplBase? Is this a compiler bug as it works if I use Dummy directly instead of setting it as a constraint?   We have a website that displays information in a location based manner, i.e. it detects the IP of the visiting user and redirects him/her to an appropriate landing page; for e.g. a user coming from 'Egypt' will be redirected to http://www.mysite.com/egypt/cairo and a user visting from dubai will be redirected to http://www.mysite.com/uae/dubai, so on and so forth and we cater to multiple locations in the middle-east. Now, we have been advised by our SEO consultant that we should put a 301 (permanent redirect) on http://www.mysite.com to point to http://www.mysite.com/ksa/riyadh I would like to know the negative implications that this would have on Google indexing or otherwise, as I fundamentally disagree with this suggestion and believe that in a siutation like this a 302 redirect would be more appropriate.

  I am using java.util.logging in an EJB application running on glassfish v3. I can see the log messages in server.log but i don't seem to be able to configure the logging level in glassfish\domains\domain1\logging.properties. If I use: Logger logger = Logger.getLogger("com.foo"); To obtain the logger and log with: logger.info("message"); then I expect that if I set com.foo.level=WARNING in logging.properties then the message should not logged. Am I doing something wrong here?

And I have to follow some constraints for that, for example: If my parameter "MyCollection.Count = 4" the property "NumberOfcolumns" will have the value 2, in order to create new Lines, and show the controls Two per Two. Then I only want those imports with the "Application" "CheckFolderApplication" metadata. To currenly do that I read all the imports and then filter the result.   I want to create a menu that pulls only the sub-menu options for a particular page. For example, if the menu option DASHBOARD has the sub-menus MESSAGE BOARD and CALENDAR, I want to be able to create a separate menu with just MESSAGE BOARD and CALENDAR. I'd like to do this without the wp_list_pages function so that the menu options can be managed using the Appearances Menus tab in WordPress. Thanks!
