  • MYSQL Select and group by date

    - by Gil
I'm not sure how create a right query to get the result I'm looking for. What I have is 2 tables. first has ID, Name columns and second has date and adminID, which is referenced from table 1 column ID. Now, what I want to get is basically number of times each admin loged in per day during the month. From structure like this one I want to get per day and month data so result would be similar to 1, 2, 2 march total 5 for admin 4. ID | Date ------------------ 4 | 2010/03/01 4 | 2010/03/04 4 | 2010/03/04 4 | 2010/03/05 4 | 2010/03/05

  • Sharepoint Blog Posts : Sort based on Published date

    - by Hojo
I have a sharepoint intranet portal which has many blogs and they have customized design. We use default Data form webpart for displaying blog posts. By default the posts are sorted based on "created date". I have a new requirement from the client asking me to change the sorting criteria to "Published date". What is the easiest method to achieve this without using SharePoint Designer . Note: Creating a new view is not a solution as I will not be able to apply the customized design.

  • Storing date and time as epoch vs native datetime format in the database

    - by zakovyrya
For most of my tasks I find it much easier to work with date and time in the epoch format: it's trivial to calculate timespan or determine if some event happened before or after another, I don't have to deal with time-zone issues if the data comes from different geographical sources, in case of scripting languages what I usually get from database when I request a datetime-typed column is a string that I need to parse in order to work with it. This list can go on, but for me in order to keep my code portable that's enough to ditch database's native datetime format and store date and time as integer. What do you guys think?

  • How to format a date as localized Short MonthDay string

    - by Wouter
I would like to format a DateTime to a string containing the month name abbreviated and the date for use in axis labels in a graph. The default DateTime format strings do not contain abbreviated month. I guess there is no standard but I could take a substring of the first 3 characters of the month name and replace this into the MonthDay format. The reason I would use MonthDay is that the ordering of month and date is locale dependent. Does anyone have a better idea? http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/az4se3k1.aspx#MonthDay

  • Where is the iPhone's Date & Time getting it's time zone list

    - by johnbdh
I can get a list of time zones with [NSTimeZone knownTimeZoneNames], but that only gives the time zone IDs which include one or 2 cities in each time zone. The Date & Time settings has a great list of cities and I have seen a few other apps that have the same if not similar lookup lists. Where do these lists come from?? I do need to relate a picked city to it's time zone like Date & Time does. Thanks, John

  • Correct Way to Get Date Between Dates In SQL Server

    - by Chuck Haines
I have a table in SQL server which has a DATETIME field called Date_Printed. I am trying to get all records in the table which lie between a specified date range. Currently I am using the following SQL DECLARE @StartDate DATETIME DECLARE @EndDate DATETIME SET @StartDate = '2010-01-01' SET @EndDate = '2010-06-18 12:59:59 PM' SELECT * FROM table WHERE Date_Printed BETWEEN @StartDate AND @EndDate I have an index on the Date_Printed column. I was wondering if this is the best way to get the rows in the table which lie between those date or if there is a faster way. The table has about 750,000 records in it right now and it will continue to grow. The query is pretty fast but I'd like to make it faster if possible.

  • getting a date array from a mysql database?

    - by user296516
Hi guys, I have a database with date field is this format "2010.06.11. | 10:26 13" What is need is a php array that would hold all the different dates, .i.e. array[0] = "2010.06.09." array[1] = "2010.06.10." array[2] = "2010.06.11." Currently I am doing it by selecting the whole table, then looping through the result and adding the date substr to an array if it is not already there. But maybe there is a faster way? Thanks.

  • Avoid implicit conversion from date to timestamp for selects with Oracle using Hibernate

    - by sapporo
I'm using Hibernate 3.2.7.GA criteria queries to select rows from an Oracle Enterprise Edition 10.2.0.4.0 database, filtering by a timestamp field. The field in question is of type java.util.Date in Java, and DATE in Oracle. It turns out that the field gets mapped to java.sql.Timestamp, and Oracle converts all rows to TIMESTAMP before comparing to the passed in value, bypassing the index and thereby ruining performance. One solution would be to use Hibernate's sqlRestriction() along with Oracle's TO_DATE function. That would fix performance, but requires rewriting the application code (lots of queries). So is there a more elegant solution? Since Hibernate already does type mapping, could it be configured to do the right thing? Update: The problem occurs in a variety of configurations, but here's one specific example: Oracle Enterprise Edition 10.2.0.4.0 Oracle JDBC Driver 11.1.0.7.0 Hibernate 3.2.7.GA Hibernate's Oracle10gDialect Java 1.6.0_16

  • Compare date fields in SQL server

    - by huslayer
Hi all, I've a flat file that I cleaned the data out using SSIS, the output looks like that : MEDICAL ADMIT PATIENT PATIENT DATE OF DX REC NO DATE NUMBER NAME DISCHARGE Code DRG # 123613 02/16/09 12413209 MORIBALDI ,GEMMA 02/19/09 428.20 988 130897 01/23/09 12407193 TINLEY ,PATRICIA 01/23/09 535.10 392 139367 02/27/09 36262509 THARPE ,GLORIA 03/05/09 562.10 392 141954 02/25/09 72779499 SHUMATE ,VALERIA 02/25/09 112.84 370 141954 03/07/09 36271732 SHUMATE ,VALERIA 03/10/09 493.92 203 145299 01/21/09 12406294 BAUGH ,MARIA 01/21/09 366.17 117 and the report (final results) attached in the screen shot from the final excel report. so what's happening is IF the same name or same account number is duplicate, that means the patient has entered the hospital again and needs to be included in the report. ![alt text][1] what I need to do is... Eliminate any rows that is NOT duplicate (not everybody in this file has been admitted again) and compare the dates to get the ReAdmitdate and ReDischargedate I dumped the data into a SQL table and trying to compare the dates to figure out "ReAdmitdate" and "ReDischargedate" any help is appreciated. Thanks [link text][1]

  • rails: date type and GetDate

    - by cbrulak
This is a follow up to this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2930256/unique-responses-rails-gem I'm going to create an index based on the user id, url and a date type. I want date type (not datetime type) because I want the day, the 24 hour day to be part of the index to avoid duplication of page views counts on the same day. In other words: A view only counts once in a day by a visitor. I also want the default value of that column (viewdate) to be the function GETDATE(). This is what I have in my migration: execute "ALTER TABLEpage_viewsADD COLUMN viewdate datetime DEFAULTGETDATE()`" But the value viewdate is always empty. What am I missing? (as an aside, any other suggestions for accomplishing this goal?)

  • jquery datepicker predefined date

    - by r3try
This might seem like a stupid easy question to some of you, but i'm new to jquery and can't get my datepicker to work like it should. This is my textbox where the datepicker is attached to: <asp:TextBox runat="server" ID="StartMonth" AutoPostBack="true" class="month-picker" /> and here is how i attach the datepicker. (I have multiple TextBoxes where the datepicker should be attached to, so i used the class attribute instead of the id.) $(".month-picker").datepicker({ dateFormat: 'MM yy', changeYear: true, yearRange: '-9:+9' }); What i want to archive is when i click into the textbox where the text is "August 2012" it should set the pre-selected date of the datepicker to this date. Can anyone help? Kind regards.

  • How to get date format in result set?

    - by Prasanna
I have a sql to get data form mysql their I used dateformat to convert date required format Here is the sql SELECT m.id, m.subject, m.body, m.read, m.hide, m.thread_id, DATE_FORMAT(m.sent_date, '%d-%b-%Y') sent_date, u.username to_name FROM messages m, users u WHERE u.school_id = m.school_id AND u.id = m.to_user_id AND m.school_id = 18 AND m.user_id = 53 AND m.status = 'sent' ORDER BY m.sent_date DESC When I run this sql directly in mysql it works fine, sent_date comes as (19-Apr-2010). When I excute this in ruby, in result set the sent_date is stores as (Tue Apr 20 00:00:00 UTC 2010) messages = Message.find_by_sql(sql) puts messages[0]['sent_date'] puts statement prints "Tue Apr 20 00:00:00 UTC 2010" how to get same date format in mysql result and ruby result set. • Tentative date casting in tsql

    - by Tewr
I am looking for something like TRYCAST in TSQL or an equivalent method / hack. In my case I am extracting some date data from an xml column. The following query throws "Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type datetime." if the piece of data found in the xml cannot be converted to datetime (in this specific case, the date is "0001-01-01" in some cases). Is there a way to detect this exception before it occurs? select [CustomerInfo].value('(//*:InceptionDate/text())[1]', 'datetime') FROM Customers An example of what I am trying to achieve in pseudocode with an imagined tsql function TRYCAST(expr, totype, defaultvalue): select TRYCAST( [CustomerInfo].value('(//*:InceptionDate/text())[1]', 'nvarchar(100)'), datetime, null) FROM Customers

  • PHP date function not accepting timezone change

    - by Pepper
Hello, I've set up a quick little test to understand and debug timezones between mySQL and PHP. Here's the page: http://dev.feedingo.com/test_dates.php The dates are being created in mySQL using NOW() in a datetime field. The initial problem I was trying to figure out is what timezone mySQL is using and how to sync it up with PHP. But now there's an even weirder issue. In my test app, if you change your timezone, the first strtotime updates properly, but if you pass it into a date() function it doesn't change. This is how im setting the timezone based off the select box. $current_timezone = 'America/New_York'; if( isset( $_GET['timezone'] ) ) $current_timezone = $_GET['timezone']; date_default_timezone_set($current_timezone); Any ideas as to why the date() function isn't accepting the timezone changes? Thanks!

  • Flatten date range memberships retaining only the highest priority membership (TRANSACT-SQL)

    - by shadowranger
Problem statement: A table contains an item_id, a category_id and a date range (begin_date and end_date). No item may be in more than one category on any given date (in general; during daily rebuilding it can be in an invalid state temporarily). By default, all items are added (and re-added if removed) to a category (derived from outside data) automatically on a daily basis, and their membership in that category matches the lifespan of the item (items have their own begin and end date, and usually spend their entire lives in the same category, which is why this matches). For items in category X, it is occasionally desirable to override the default category by adding them to category Y. Membership in category Y could entirely replace membership in category X (that is, the begin and end dates for membership in category Y would match the begin and end dates of the item itself), or it could override it for an arbitrary period of time (at the beginning, middle or end the item's lifespan, possibly overriding for short periods at multiple times). Membership in category Y is not renewed automatically and additions to that category is done by manual data entry. Every day, when category X is rebuilt, we get an overlap, where any item in category Y will now be in category X as well (which is forbidden, as noted previously). Goal: After each repopulation of category X (which is done in a rather complicated and fragile manner, and ideally would be left alone), I'm trying to find an efficient means of writing a stored procedure that: Identifies the overlaps Changes existing entries, adds new ones where necessary (such as in the case where an item starts in category X, switches to category Y, then eventually switches back to category X before ending), or removes entries (when an item is in category Y for its entire life) such that every item remains in category Y (and only Y) where specified, while category X membership is maintained when not overridden by category Y. Does not affect memberships of categories A, B, C, Z, etc., which do not have override categories and are built separately, by completely different rules. Note: It can be assumed that X membership covers the entire lifespan of the item before this procedure is called, so it is unnecessary to query any data outside this table. Bonus credit: If for some reason there are two adjacent or overlapping memberships in for the same item in category Y, stitching them together into a single entry is appreciated, but not necessary. Example: item_id category_id begin_date end_date 1 X 20080101 20090628 1 Y 20090101 20090131 1 Y 20090601 20090628 2 X 20080201 20080731 2 Y 20080201 20080731 Should become: item_id category_id begin_date end_date 1 X 20080101 20081231 1 Y 20090101 20090131 1 X 20090201 20090531 1 Y 20090601 20090628 2 Y 20080201 20080731 If it matters, this needs to work on SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008

  • How to sort list items for Date field value (Apex, Salesforce)

    - by Channa
    With Salesforce's Apex, is there any way to sort list items, for Date field value. Please refer the TODO section of the following code, thanks. /** * Select list of jobOccurrences belongs to particular list of jobs */ private List<Job_Occurrence__c> getJobsByJobCode(List<Job__c> jobList) { // Select relevant Job Occurrence objects List<Job_Occurrence__c> jobOccuList = new List<Job_Occurrence__c>(); for (Job__c job : jobList) { Job_Occurrence__c jobOccurrence = [SELECT Id, Job__c, Schedule_Start_Date__c FROM Job_Occurrence__c WHERE Job__c =: job.Id]; if((jobOccurrence != null) && (jobOccurrence.Id != null)) { jobOccuList.add(jobOccurrence); } } if((jobOccuList != null) && (jobOccuList.size() > 0)) { // TODO // How I sort the 'jobOccuList' with Date field 'Schedule_Start_Date__c', // for select the items according to sequence of latest jobOccurrence return jobOccuList; } else { throw new RecordNotFoundException ('Could not found any jobOccurrence for given list of jobs'); } }
