  • systray-whitelist changes are only temporary (how do i make them permenant?)

    I am writing a Qt C++ app. The notifications from trayIcon->showMessage(title, message) show up fine after I run the following command and logout/login: gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Panel systray-whitelist "['all']" But after a few minutes the notifications don’t display any more and I have to repeat the gsettings logout/login. How can I get unity to play my messages without this fooling around when my user installs my app? Thanks for any help!

  • What open source POSIX compliance test suites are available?

    I'm working on a small open source project, ELLCC, that uses clang/LLVM as a cross compiler for various target processors. For the runtime environment, I'm using the NetBSD libraries and porting them to target Linux and standalone systems. I want to run a POSIX compliance test suite on the code. I've found the Open POSIX Test Suite, which looks like a good start, but it hasn't been updated since 2005. I've done some preliminary testing (with gcc and ecc under Linux), and it looks like it needs a few updates for modern compilers. My questions are: Does the Open POSIX Test Suite live on somewhere in a more up to date form? Are there other open source alternatives?

  • Windows: starting sqlplus in new window from cygwin bash

    When I start sqlplus, more often than not, I want it to start in new window,whether it be on Linux/Solaris GNOME or Windows.I seldom use GNOME so I never bothered to figure out how.On Windows, one can use Windows menu or Win+R "Run" dialog but I prefer usingbash. Because, this way, I can keep the history in ~/.bash_history file.There are 2 ways. Using cmd.exe or cygstart.For example, to start default sqlplus.exe to connect to default local instance. $ cmd /c "start sqlplus sys/oracle as sysdba" 2nd example. To start sqlplus in 2nd Oracle home and to connect to non-default local instance. $ ORACLE_SID=orcl cygstart /cygdrive/g/app/product/11.2.0.3/dbhome_1/BIN/sqlplus scott I hope this tip helps reducing your DBA time.

  • New RUP Patch for iSupplier Portal, Sourcing and Supplier Lifecycle Management (SLM)

    Just released - the 12.1.3 Rollup (RUP) Patch 17525552:R12.PRC_PF.B for iSupplier Portal, Sourcing and Supplier Lifecycle Management (SLM). Who should apply this patch? Anyone that is on Release 12.1.3 and is using  iSupplier Portal, Sourcing or Supplier Lifecycle Management (SLM) functionality. The following areas have had major fixes: Prospective Supplier Guided Navigation: The train-navigation is introduced for prospective supplier registration so that prospective suppliers can see all steps needed to successfully register themselves. Supplier Registration Workflow Enhancement: With this release, provided the Approval Management Engine (AME) action required notifications for supplier approval, so that all workflow related features can be enabled. Vacation rules can be set, approvals can be forwarded and more information can be requested through the notification itself.  Additionally AME parallel Approval support for Supplier Registration approvals has been added. Reinstate Supplier Request: Allow buyer to reopen/reinstate the rejected supplier. Supplier is able to access their previously rejected registration again and make changes and resubmit request. Contact Address Association: The prospective supplier is allowed to associate addresses with contacts (including Primary) during the prospective supplier registration process. Primary Contact Enhancement: The prospective supplier can be registered without creating a user account for the primary contact. Mandatory Attributes: In the negotiation requirement creation page, the lookup meaning of 'Internal' has been changed to 'Internal Optional', and a new lookup value with meaning as 'Internal Required' has been added. The values available in the 'Type' dropdown now are Display Only, Internal Optional, Internal Required, Supplier Optional and Supplier Required.  So now during supplier evaluations, internal user response can be set as mandatory by using Internal Required type during requirement creation. Notifications to Supplier:  When the supplier saves and submits their supplier registration request, then a notification with a registration status page link will be sent for further access.  When the buyer approves, rejects or returns the request, the supplier will be notified in an email with the current status. There are also 10 major enhancements included in this RUP.   • Should I pass link juice to my pages on other websites that are already high PR domains?

    I am starting a new website for a local business and have entries listed for it on places like urbanspoon, yelp, google+ local, etc. I am thinking of listing these citation sites on my business website to encourage visitors of my site to go and review the business on those sites. If I dofollow I will pass link juice to my page on that site, but doesn't that mean that the very very little PR juice I have will be leached away from me? Is it better to nofollow them?
