  • What's behind the 'system' function in perl?

    - by JohnJohnGa
    i can thought that it will open a shell, execute the parameter (shell command) and return the result in a scalar. But, execute 'system' function in a perl script is faster than a shell command. It will call this command in C? If yes, what's the difference between rmdir foo and system('rmdir foo'); Thanks,

  • Can anyone help with this Magento error?

    - by Duane
    Fatal error: Call to a member function getArea() on a non-object in {directory}/includes/src/Mage_Core_Model_App_Area.php on line 155 Cropped up when I installed an extension that I wrote on a clean install of Magento. When ported to the dev server it took it down and I cant seem to find where it has originated. Disabling the extension changes nothing. Along with clearing the cache and all the regular Magento hiccups. I've ensured that file permissions are correct to the best of my knowledge.

  • How to unit tests functions which return results asyncronously in XCode?

    - by DevDevDev
    I have something like - (void)getData:(SomeParameter*)param { // Remotely call out for data returned asynchronously // returns data via a delegate method } - (void)handleDataDelegateMethod:(NSData*)data { // Handle returned data } I want to write a unit test for this, how can I do something better than NSData* returnedData = nil; - (void)handleDataDelegateMethod:(NSData*)data { returnedData = data; } - (void)test { [obj getData:param]; while (!returnedData) { [NSThread sleep:1]; } // Make tests on returnedData }

  • AES and CBC in PHP

    - by Kane
    I am trying to encrypt a string in php using AES-128 and CBC, but when I call mcrypt_generic_init() it returns false. $cipher = mcrypt_module_open(MCRYPT_RIJNDAEL_128, '',MCRYPT_MODE_CBC, ''); $iv_size = mcrypt_enc_get_iv_size($cipher); $iv = mcrypt_create_iv($iv_size, MCRYPT_RAND); $res = mcrypt_generic_init($cipher, 'aaaa', $iv); //'aaaa' is a test key Can someone tell me why is returning 0/false? I read the php documentation and seems correct (http://us.php.net/manual/en/mcrypt.examples.php)

  • Accessing Identity.AuthenticationType

    - by Tewr
    While implementing a custom authentication type in a wcf service, I'm trying to read the property IIdentity.AuthenticationType using the call Thread.CurrentPrincipal.Identity.AuthenticationType. Unless the account running the service is local administrator, UnauthorizedAccessException is thrown when accessing this property, much like described in this support thread. I can however reset the Thread.CurrentPrincipalobject without hassle, thus altering the Authentication Type - But read it, I cannot. Is running as an administrator the only way here or is there some trick to let the user running the service "just" access this property?

  • Removing Directions markers from the Google Maps API V3

    - by anonymous
    To remove a normal marker from a map, I understand you simply call marker.setMap(null), but when implementing the Google Maps directions services, it automatically adds markers A and B onto the map ( calculating directions from point A to point B ). I do not have control over these markers, so I cannot remove them in the normal way. So how can I remove these markers (I have custom markers on the map instead)?

  • IIS hosting, asp.net mvc

    - by tomasz
    Hi I have a site that uses flex and calls controller actions which returns json to the flex. This works fine in a dev server , the folder that has the flex app lives inside the web project and in the dev ennvironment, makes calls hostname, ie www.someurl.com in the actual live scenario, this will be an intranet so not hostname to call, the flex app seems to have trouble calling http://localhost/Virtual directory name it seems to totally miss the virtual directory name. I am obviously missing something basic, any help?
