    I read this on msdn: Views let different users to see data in different ways, even when they are using the same data at the same time. This is especially useful when users who have many different interests and skill levels share the same database. For example, a view can be created that retrieves only the data for the customers with whom an account manager deals. The view can determine which data to retrieve based on the login ID of the account manager who uses the view. My question: For the above example , i would have to have a column named Userid/LoginId on my table on which the view is created so that i can apply a check option in the view for this column. and then if a user with a name not in that column tries to enter data , then he/she is blocked.

  • just started getting the "validation of viewstate mac" error

    I have had a site up and running for quite a while, but I've just started getting the MAC failed error. Quite often too. While coding tonight I've noticed it 4 times or so. The host (through someone else) changed servers and we've had a bunch of issues. This started happening since then. What are all the possibilities that it could be on the server end that I could ask?   • Help with validation rules

    I am trying to figure out how to validate a section of a form using php. If at least one of value 1-5 is checked, then at least one of value A-E must be checked. Value's A-E cannot be allowed without at least one of 1-5 being checked. Multiple values in each section can be selected, as long as there is at least one value in each section checked. I have tried individual IF statements and arrays without success. Does anyone have any suggestions or examples? I am missing something and I am certain it is pretty obvious, right in my face.

  • Detect EXIF Orientation of an image in javascript

    In my mobile web application, I have a need to examine the EXIF orientation tag of an image file selected using an input type=file control, and this needs to be done on the client side in javascript, before the selected image file gets uploaded to the server. I have seen several threads similar to this but most of them say to use a library called binaryajax.js to be able to access the EXIF data from the file object. Unfortunately, simply including binaryajax.js in my project causes an Access Denied error in jQuery 1.7.1, and I have no idea why this is happening. This error precludes me from using this jquery library. So I am looking for a solution that does not use this library. Another library I have tried to use is jquery.exif.js and I also get an Access Denied Error Trying to use it.

    Hi, I try to localize error messages from the Domain classes. This is possible with the default error messages, e.g.: default.blank.message=Property [{0}] cannot be blank and localized attribute names, e.g.: customer.address.label=Customer address Where "Customer" is my domain class and address is its attribute. My problem is that I can't localize some attributes because I need specific error messages. E.g: has.to.be.a.number=Property [{0}] has to be a number contingent.size.label=Contingent size. But the message I get is "Property [size] has to be a number" instead of "Property [Contingent size] has to be a number". The messages I cant localize are following: - Property [{0}] has to be a number - Property [{0}] has to be a valid date // I can't use g:datePicker in this context

  • Data validation between SQL replicated tables

    Hi All, I am trying to figure out a way to validate the data in my publisher and subscriber in SQL 2005 replication. I thought of using sp_publication_validation, but it needs db_owner permission and we are not allowed to have it in our company. So I did bit more reading and found out about two other SPs that I think work for me. First one is sp_article_validation, which I plan to run on the publisher. For each article that I call this SP, its gonna give the row count and a checksum. With that info, I intend to call sp_table_validation on the subscriber, passing the row count and checksum from the previous SP, there by validating both tables. What do you guys think? Is this a proven way to validate data in replication? There is very little documentation on these SPs. But I want if there is an error generated by jquery.validate.js then I know the how many errors generated by validate.js in application.php. I am going to implement if there are number of errors generated then uploading function will be disable. If there is no error generated then uploading function will work.   • WMF image data validation?

    There is an image capturing device which gives its output in wmf. This output is stored in the database directly. We have cases where at times some of these images do not appear on a web page in IE. But if we right click on the page we are able to save the image on to the hard disk; meaning the image does exist on the page, but does not appear visible. I think this is because of some file corruption issue, but I don't know how to resolve it. We are however able to view such files using MS Picture Viewer (desktop app). Is there anyway we can detect such problematic files?

I need to control this with a cookie, so when the user hides #wrapper it remains hidden on all pages or when they re-visit the page. I know there is a jQuery Cookie plugin, but I'd like to do this with plain Javascript rather then including another plugin. Can anyone tell me how i can build in it in plain javascript and merge with the JQuery to create a cookie, then check the cookie each time the page loads to see if #wrapper should be hidden or displayed?

  • Datepicker (1.8rc3) not transferring date in IE6

    Using jquery-1.4.2 and jquery-UI 1.8rc3, I instantiated a datepicker on a text input with showOn: 'focus'. The datepicker appears correctly. However when I click on a date, the datepicker doesn't disappear and the dateStr doesn't get transferred to the text input. I tried adding an onClose: handler that calls alert(dateStr). The event fires but no dateStr has been set. Everything works fine in Firefox. I have Microsoft Script Debugger installed but no script errors were detected.   • Capturing clicks even when stopPropagation has been called (ie by 3rd party code)?

    I want to detect any click that happens on a page (to close a custom context menu). I'm using jQuery and trying to do $(document).click(function(){ ...close my context menu ... }); However, I'm using some code that calls evt.stopPropagation() in the click handlers for certain elements on the page, and those clicks aren't making it up to my top-level handler. Is there any way of capturing those clicks? Can be jQuery or not jQuery, as long as it works cross-browser.
