    Hi guys i need to integrate drscheme into my c# code for my assignment but i could find any luck on the web. Can anyone help me ? I tried ironscheme but got the following error. The type or namespace name 'Dynamic' does not exist in the namespace 'System' (are you missing an assembly reference?) Also creating new project appear option between Mxml and 'Mxml+Spark'. What is this spark? Do you recommend using this? I've inherited a really big project and the amount of code that is repeated throughout the app is 'epic'.   • Cannot access website using host headers on local windows 7 and iis 7

    I have problem of accessing my website created using visual studio on my local pc. the pc using windows 7 with static ip address has been configured and i have added a hostname "192.168.0.1 hosts myweb.mylocal.com" on c:\windows\system32\driver\etc. on the IIS i have configured the binding myweb.mylocal.com with impersonation set enabled and windows authentication is enabled. the user login just keep prompting eventhough i have entered the correct username and password.

    I am designing a simple application using c# and it has a web browser in it. I need to either (preferably) refresh the page that is currently inside the broswer, or navigate to a "new" url. I tried Browser.Url = new Uri("http://www.pandora.com/"); but I get an error when I try to compile it. Error 1 Cannot implicitly convert type 'string' to 'System.Uri' c:\users\sean\documents\visual studio 2010\Projects\Pandora\Pandora\Form1.cs 51 27 Pandora What am I doing wrong?

    I've been looking for a good book for windows shell programming, and the only one I could find is Visual C++ Windows Shell Programming by Dino Eposito: http://www.wintellect.com/BookInformation.aspx?ASIN=1861001843 It is an old book, and I'd like to know if you know of any good resources which could help. I need to develop a couple of windows explorer extensions, and apparently managed code is not recommended by Microsoft at least for some of these tasks.   • ASP.Net Webservice - Constructors with Parameters

    Hi, I'm fairly new to WebService developement and have just set up my own webservice (ASP.Net 3.5, Visual Studio 2008 .asmx file). I can not find a way of setting up my webservice to take parameters on the constructor. If i create a constructor that takes parameters, it is not then shown when i hook up to the webservice from my application (it only shows a parameterless constructor). Am i missing something blatently obvious, or is this not possible (and why not)? Thanks.

    In my View (using Zend_View so the the view is an object), I make calls to object properties and methods to populate the template like so: <?= $this->user->name ?> // Outputs John Doe <br/> <?= $this->user->getCompany()->name ?> // Outputs Acme <br/> <?= $this->method() ?> // Outputs foobar If I make it so that all property requests (like for 'user') go through __get() is there any way that I can catch the subsequent calls so that I can force a method call on the final outputted value? For example so that I could do automatic escaping of output. As I see it right now, I either have to escape the input as it goes into the database or use compiled templates like Smarty does, or switch to assigning every variable to the View object so that it has direct control to force escaping before outputting the data.

    SA1124 DoNotUseRegions suggest that region should not be used anywhere. Is it really reasonable? I think region is a way to group relative code together and make large class easy to read, for example, if you generate interface method in for class, a region will be automatically inserted by visual studio. I would like to remove this rule while checking code style. May I know your ideal on this rule?

  • Are preprocessors obsolete in modern languages?

    Hello, I'm making a simple compiler for a simple pet language I'm creating and coming from a C background(though I'm writing it in Ruby) I wondered if a preprocessor is necessary. What do you think? Is a "dumb" preprocessor still necessary in modern languages? Would C#'s conditional compilation capabilities be considered a "preprocessor"? Does every modern language that doesn't include a preprocessor have the utilities necessary to properly replace it? (for instance, the C++ preprocessor is now mostly obsolete(though still depended upon) because of templates.)
