  • jquery question - addclass to element depending on active image in rotating banner

    I have a banner that rotates a series of three images. The active one has a display:block, while the inactive have display:none. I'm trying to match the class for the active image with an tag so that I can add an "active" class to the a tag. Having some trouble writing that function. It's adding all of the classes for each of the img elements, regardless of whether they're being displayed or not...   • Using rest-client to upload a paperclip attachment but getting no file found error

    Hello, I have a paperclip attachment that I wan to upload to a web-service using rest-client. However, when I try to run it, I get an error: No such file or directory - /system/postalimages/1/original/postcard-1.png?1274635084 But the file exists for sure: I see it in my directory. How do I debug this?     Hello Everyone, I've the problem when I want to read "com.android.email.provider" to get email accounts. Here is my code to retrieve the account : Cursor c = null; Uri CONTENT_URI = Uri.parse("content://com.android.email.provider/account"); String RECORD_ID = "_id"; String[] ID_PROJECTION = new String[] {RECORD_ID }; c = getContentResolver().query(CONTENT_URI,ID_PROJECTION,null, null, null); I get a security exception: java.lang.SecurityException: Permission Denial: reading com.android.email.provider.EmailProvider uri content://com.android.email.provider/account from pid=278, uid=10003 requires com.android.email.permission.ACCESS_PROVIDER I want to know the account is created or not in some other app. Is there any other way to resolve this so that I can read from the provider.     Hello All I would like to develop such iphone application that provides functionality to download viedo. i am doing some as below 1) Loading HTML content on web view 2) The loaded html content contains the video link (i.e http://test.com/test.mp4") 3) When i click on that it will play the video in native player. 4) but i would like to prevent this thing and start downloading video from that URL for example, if i click on link it should not open native video player, it should start downloading from that url and store somewhere on iphone (i.e document directory) is there any solution for same?     I think I might be misunderstanding the whole thing and I am looking for some programming wisdom. When faced with a programming challenge, I feel the most important question is "which programming paradigm(s) are better suited to handle it, and how to apply them". A distant second is "which language to use". Yet it seems that most of the programming related content I stumble upon on the Internet has it exactly backwards and focuses mostly on the language choice. An object-oriented solution is fundamentaly the same, whether it's implemented in c++, Java or PHP... So where is the paradigm centered content? Where is the "practical guide to programming paradigms and implementations" and other literature helping bringing real-world and programming concepts together? Note: I already know about "Programming Paradigms for Dummies: What Every Programmer Should Know" from Peter Van Roy.

  • Google maps API - info window height and panning

    I'm using the Google maps API (v2) to display a country overlay over a world map. The data comes from a KML file, which contains coords for the polygons along with a HTML description for each country. This description is displayed in the 'info window' speech bubble when that country is clicked on. I had some trouble initially as the info windows were not expanding to the size of the HTML content they contained, so the longer ones would spill over the edges (this seems to be a common problem). I was able to work around this by resetting the info window to a specific height as follows: GEvent.addListener(map, "infowindowopen", function(iw) { iw = map.getInfoWindow(); iw.reset(iw.getPoint(), iw.getTabs(), new GSize(300, 295), null, null); }); Not ideal, but it works. However now, when the info windows are opened the top part of them is sometimes obscured by the edges of the map, as the map does not pan to a position where all of the content can be viewed. So my questions: Is there any way to get the info windows to automatically use a height appropriate to their content, to avoid having to fix to a set pixel height? If fixing the height is the only option, is there any way to get the map to pan to a more appropriate position when the info windows open? I know that the map class has a panTo() method, but I can't see a way to calculate what the correct coords would be.   • 2 questions about drag and drop with Javascript

    Hello, I'm trying to be able to drag random highlighted text or images on a random page that is not written by me, thus I cannot simply wrap the text in a div and make it draggable. Is there any way to get highlighted text or images on a random page, like say Yahoo, and drop it into a container that can recognize what was being dropped into it (like content and content-type) without it even being an explicitly declared draggable? I've been playing with jQuery, but can't figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, David

  • Sticky Footer Dilemma - so close

    I have an effective sticky footer solution, but I have a slight conflict because of the need for a background image in addition to the repeating banner image across the top. In order to make the large watermark type image show up on this site I added the following div: <div id="body-outer"> The only problem is that once I add this div tag, the footer climbs up the page, overriding all content in its path. If I remove that div, the footer is as sticky as one could hope. Is there some way to have the background image and the sticky footer too?     I am trying to open a remote Stream of a JPEG image and convert it into a Bitmap object: BitmapFactory.decodeStream( new URL("http://some.url.to/source/image.jpg") .openStream()); The decoder returns null and in the logs I get the following message: DEBUG/skia(xxxx): --- decoder->decode returned false Note: 1. the content length is non-zero and content type is image/jpeg 2. When I open the URL in browser I can see the image. What is that I am missing here? Please help. Thanks.

I cannot get the buttons in the grid to scramble to start a new game when calling a new game event. Any help will be greatly appreciated.     I hired a designer to help me redesign the UI for my Android app. For each Activity he gave me an image for the background, which includes any static content like fancy frames for text content; plus images for the buttons, which must fit in to the background image in exact places, to fit into the frames in the background image. However, since Android devices have different screen sizes and aspect ratios, it's easy to fit the background image by itself with android:scaleType="centerInside", but how can I get all the other images to fit in with background exactly, to the pixel? If they didn't have to fit in with the background, I would just set the exact width and height for each ImageButton, but depending on how the background scales (based on the screen size and ratio) they might end up not aligned correctly.   • No styles / images on asp.Net MVC 2 application

    Greetings i have a little problem with my ASP MVC application. On my local development server everything works just fine but when i try to publish the application to an IIS 7.0 server it just displays plain pages without any styles / markups / images. I put all those things in the /Content/ subfolder but when i try to access that folder on the production server it just returns me a 404 not found error. I set the IIS server up with .Net 4.0 and followed the deployment guide on here: http://www.asp.net/learn/mvc/tutorial-08-cs.aspx All views / controllers / classes seem to work just fine, the only thing which does not is the content subfolder and i cant see why. Anyone got a suggestion what i could have overlooked or does anyone know that problem?
