    I want to initialise a 'ticket' table with some ticket IDs. To do this, I want to insert 120 ticket IDs into the table. However, at every 10th statement, MySQL tells me that the ID already exists and thus won't let me insert it.     Hi, I am using SQL Server 2008 and the WebSharingAppDemo-SqlProviderEndToEnd sample and this is almost perfect for my needs however I am unable to detect conflicts. By default ConflictResolutionPolicy is set to ApplicationDefined. I have tried setting the ResolutionPolicy to SourceWins, DestinationWins or ApplicationDefined and I always get the same results? The Destination Provider Proxy (Peer) always wins? Can someone please provide a sample of how I can detect a conflict and act upon it or point me in the right direction where I can start to look. I am not sure what to do and where I can create events for detecting collisions. Been staring at this too long now and going around in circles! Thanks in advanced. Paul

  • Is it possible to stream a file to and from servers without holding the data in ram?

    Hi everyone! PHP question (new to PHP after 10 years of Perl, arrggghhh!). I have a 100mb file that I want to send to another server. I have managed to read the file in and "post" it without curl (cannot use curl for this app). Everything is working fine on smaller files. However, with the larger files, PHP complains about not being able to allocate memory. Is there a way to open a file, line by line, and send it as a post ALSO line by line? This way nothing is held in ram thus preventing my errors and getting around strict limitations. Chris

    I'm currently setting up WordPress on an Ubuntu server 12 everything runs fine but there is an issue when it comes to automatically updating and uploading media via WP as Apache "www-data" user does not have permissions to write to the directories. "user1" has full permission All my directories have permissions of 0755 and files 644 my directories setup is as follows: /home/user1/public_html All WP files and directories are in "public_html" In order to work around the auto updating and uploading media I've granted Apache user ownership to the following directories sudo chown www-data:www-data wp-content -R sudo chown www-data:www-data wp-includes -R sudo chown www-data:www-data wp-admin -R I would like to know security wise how secure this is and if it is not secure what would be the best solution? That will allow me to keep all files and directories owned by user1 and still allow wp to be able to automatically update and uploading media

  • How do I pass data from a BroadcastReceiver through to an Activity being started?

    I've got an Android application which needs to be woken up sporadically throughout the day. To do this, I'm using the AlarmManager to set up a PendingIntent and have this trigger a BroadcastReceiver. This BroadcastReceiver then starts an Activity to bring the UI to the foreground. All of the above seems to work, in that the Activity launches itself correctly; but I'd like the BroadcastReceiver to notify the Activity that it was started by the alarm (as opposed to being started by the user). To do this I'm trying, from the onReceive() method of the BroadcastReceiver to set a variable in the extras bundle of the intent, thus: Intent i = new Intent(context, MyActivity.class); i.putExtra(wakeupKey, true); i.setFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_NEW_TASK); context.startActivity(i); In the onResume() method of my Activity, I then look for the existence of this boolean variable: protected void onResume() { super.onResume(); String wakeupKey = "blah"; if (getIntent()!=null && getIntent().getExtras()!=null) Log.d("app", "onResume at " + System.currentTimeMillis() + ":" + getIntent().getExtras().getBoolean(wakeupKey)); else Log.d("app", "onResume at " + System.currentTimeMillis() + ": null"); } The getIntent().getExtras() call in onResume() always returns null - I don't seem to be able to pass any extras through at all in this bundle. If I use the same method to bind extras to the PendingIntent which triggers the BroadcastReceiver however, the extras come through just fine. Can anyone tell me what's different about passing a bundle from a BroadcastReceiver to an Activity, as opposed to passing the bundle from an Activity to a BroadcastReceiver? I fear I may be doing something very very obvious wrong here...

  • What is the best practice for ouputting data from a collection on an ASP.net Page?

    I've ported a page from classic ASP to ASP.net. Part of what happens in this page is that a collection of custom types is generated and then displayed via Response.Write() commands. I'd like to get the business logic separated out into a code behind file (and maybe move this all into a user control), but I can't seem to figure out how I'd actually display the collection once it's been generated. I want to specify a master page here, too, so the code can't stay inline.   • How can I prevent 'objects you are adding to the designer use a different data connection...'?

    I am using Visual Studio 2010, and I have a LINQ-to-SQL DBML file that my colleagues and I are using for this project. We have a connection string in the web.config file that the DBML is using. However, when I drag a new table from my "Server Explorer" onto the DBML file... I get presented with a dialog that demands that do one of these two options: Allow visual studio to change the connection string to match the one in my solution explorer. Cancel the operation (meaning, I don't get my table). I don't really care too much about the debate as why the PMs/devs who made this tool didn't allow a third option - "Create the object anyway - don't worry, I'm a developer!" What I am thinking would be a good solution is if I can create a connection in the Server Explorer - WITHOUT A WIZARD. If I can just paste a connection string, that would be awesome! Because then the DBML designer won't freak out on me :O) If anyone knows the answer to this question, or how to do the above, please lemme know!

Session data is stored in the cache (on my development server I use a SQLite database, so that is no error source). I'm using bleeding edge Django 1.1svn. Enter the problem: I want to use Django's own authentication system for the users. It seems quite simple to write my own Authentication Backend, but always just under the condition that you have a local database where to save the users. Without database my main problem is persistence.     OK, not entirely related to programming, so I'm sorry. But I'd like to know about this: So I've got a webapp. There's one column where a list of results are fetched from the database. When you click one, jQuery fetches the information associated with that result and puts it into the second column - all without a refresh and using Ajax. Is it possible for Google to still read it etc.? I understand it can follow links... but presumably not Javascript actions etc.? If this is the case, what do other Ajax-heavy websites do about search engine optimisation? Jack
