In IE8 however, all of my AJAX test requests work EXCEPT for ones where I'm performing GETs without any query string params (such as the one above). POSTs work without question, and GET requests only work whenever I include query strings in the URL, like this: xhr.open( 'GET', '/ajax/?foo=bar' ) I'm also 110% positive that my server code is handling these requests appropriately, so, this stumps me completely. Does anyone have any clue as to what might be causing this?

    Earlier this week, I released "into the wild" a new JavaFX 2.x dialog library, MonologFX, that incorporated some elements of DialogFX and new features I'd been working on over time. While I did try to get the API to a point of reasonable completion (nothing is ever truly "finished", of course!), there was one bit of functionality that I'd included without providing any real "polish": that of the button icons. Good friend and fellow JFXtras teammate José Pereda Llamas suggested I fix that oversight and provide an update (thanks much, José!), thus this post.     Hi, I am not sure how to search for address matches using sql server 2008 full text search. This is what I tried but it doesn't return any records. TableA ------ Address1 Address2 City State Zip All the above columns in the table are full text indexed. Let's say if the user enters "123 Apple street FL 33647" and I have a record in the table as Address1 = "123" , Address2 = "Apple street", City = "Tampa", State = "FL" and Zip = "33647" I would like the query to return this. can you please let me know how I would do this. query tried -------------- SELECT * FROM TableA WHERE CONTAINS((Address1, Address2, City, State, zip), N'FORMSOF(THESAURUS, 123AppleStreetFL33647)'); If I put spaces in the search word, it is giving syntax error.   • Doctrine lazy loading classes takes 100 ms?!

    I'm lazy loading my Doctrine classes in my website. Benchmarking has showed that Doctrine::loadModels('models') takes over 100 ms to complete! I have 118 tables in total, but still... setting attribute to conservative loading: Doctrine_Manager::getInstance()->setAttribute(Doctrine::ATTR_MODEL_LOADING, Doctrine::MODEL_LOADING_CONSERVATIVE); running the benchmark part: $CI->benchmark->mark('Doctrineload_start'); Doctrine::loadModels(APPPATH.'models'); $CI->benchmark->mark('Doctrineload_end'); And the result: Doctrineload 0.1085 (seconds) Is this 'normal'?   • Getting results in a result set from dynamic SQL in Oracle

    This question is similar to a couple others I have found on StackOverflow, but the differences are signficant enough to me to warrant a new question, so here it is: I want to obtain a result set from dynamic SQL in Oracle and then display it as a result set in a SqlDeveloper-like tool, just as if I had executed the dynamic SQL statement directly. This is straightforward in SQL Server, so to be concrete, here is an example from SQL Server that returns a result set in SQL Server Management Studio or Query Explorer: EXEC sp_executesql N'select * from countries' Or more properly: DECLARE @stmt nvarchar(100) SET @stmt = N'select * from countries' EXEC sp_executesql @stmt The question "How to return a resultset / cursor from a Oracle PL/SQL anonymous block that executes Dynamic SQL?" addresses the first half of the problem--executing dynamic SQL into a cursor. The question "How to make Oracle procedure return result sets" provides a similar answer. Web search has revealed many variations of the same theme, all addressing just the first half of my question. I found this post explaining how to do it in SqlDeveloper, but that uses a bit of functionality of SqlDeveloper. I am actually using a custom query tool so I need the solution to be self-contained in the SQL code. This custom query tool similarly does not have the capability to show output of print (dbms_output.put_line) statements; it only displays result sets. Here is yet one more possible avenue using 'execute immediate...bulk collect', but this example again renders the results with a loop of dbms_output.put_line statements. This link attempts to address the topic but the question never quite got answered there either. Assuming this is possible, I will add one more condition: I would like to do this without having to define a function or procedure (due to limited DB permissions). That is, I would like to execute a self-contained PL/SQL block containing dynamic SQL and return a result set in SqlDeveloper or a similar tool. So to summarize: I want to execute an arbitrary SQL statement (hence dynamic SQL). The platform is Oracle. The solution must be a PL/SQL block with no procedures or functions. The output must be generated as a canonical result set; no print statements. The output must render as a result set in SqlDeveloper without using any SqlDeveloper special functionality. Any suggestions?

    Hello, i've got a SQL query which returns multiple rows, and i have : $data = array( "nom" => $row['nom'] , "prix" => $row['rapport'], "average" => "$moyenne_ge" ); which is perfect, but only if my query returns one row. i tried that : $data = array(); $data[$row['nom']]["nom"] = $row['nom'] ; ... $data[$row['nom']]['average'] = "$moyenne_ge"; in order to have : $data[brand1][nom] = brand1 $data[brand1][average] = 150$ $data[brand2][nom] = brand2 $data[brand2][average] = 20$ ... but when i do : json_encode($data) i only have the latest JSON object instead of all JSON object from my request as if my array has only one brand instead of 10. I guess i did something stupid somewhere. Thanks for your help

On XP this works fine without being admin. On this link MS states that 'Windows 7: Low-integrity users have read-only permissions for local WMI operations.'. I guess this is the problem. But I can't find any clue on how to change this.

    Hello guys I'm actually new to Terminal and Python. Just started following a Python tuturial on my Ubuntu and I've reached a part where it asks me to save a .py file and open it in Terminal. Only when I try to type on Terminal $ python egotrip.py I get $: command not found Then I try to type it in python and I get File "", line 1 python egotrip.py ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax But I mean all names are correct :( Then I gave also tried /home/anacah/Desktop/python/egotrip.py And I get Traceback (most recent call last): File "", line 1, in NameError: name 'home' is not defined What am I doing wrong? :( can someone please help?

What SQL query would you use to SELECT all items in the table along with their depth where the depth of an item is the sum of all parents and grand parents of that item.     In general, is it better to have a web application make lots of calls to a web service getting smaller chunks of data back, or to have the web app make fewer calls and get larger chunks of data? In particular, I'm building a Silverlight app that needs to get large amounts of data back from the server in response to a query created by a user. Each query could return anywhere from a few hundred records to a few thousand. Each record has around thirty fields of mostly decimal-type data. I've run into the situation before where the payload size of the response exceeded the maximum allowed by the service. I'm wondering whether it's better (more efficient for the server/client/web service) to cut this payload vertically--getting all values for a single field with each call--or horizontally--getting batches of complete records with each call. Or does it matter?

The problem is i get only contacts i created myself using no syncAdapter. I used facebook app to synch my facebook contacts, but this query doesn't return them. I extracted the contacts2.db from the emulator and the view_contacts view shows me all the contacts, so the DB is updated. What should i do to get all the contacts regardless of how they were created (with which synch adapter)

    Ok so I'm making a "simple" web app using the technologies from the topic, recently I found http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/articles/flex_hibernate.html so I'm following it and I try to apply it to my app, the only difference being I'm working on a Mac and I'm using MAMP for the database (so no command line for me). The thing is I'm having some trouble with retrieving/connecting to the database. I have the remoting-config.xml, persistance.xml, a News.java class (my Entity), a NewsService.java class, a News.as class - all just like in the tutorial. I have of course this line in one of my .mxmls: <mx:RemoteObject id="loaderService" destination="newsService" result="handleLoadResult(event)" fault="handleFault(event)" showBusyCursor="true" /> And my remoting-config.xml looks like this (well part of it): <destination id="newsService"> <properties><source>com.gamelist.news.NewsService</source></properties> </destination> NewsService has a method: public List<News> getLatestNews() { EntityManagerFactory emf = Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory(PERSISTENCE_UNIT); EntityManager em = emf.createEntityManager(); Query findLatestQuery = em.createNamedQuery("news.findLatest"); List<News> news = findLatestQuery.getResultList(); return news; } And the named query is in the News class: @Entity @Table(name="GLT_NEWS") @NamedQueries({ @NamedQuery(name="news.findLatest", query="from GLT_NEWS order by new_date_added limit 5 ") }) The handledLoadResult looks like this: private function handleLoadResult(ev:ResultEvent):void { newsList = ev.result as ArrayCollection; newsRecords = newsList.length; } Where: [Bindable] private var newsList:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection(); But when I try to trigger: loaderService.getLatestNews(); nothing happens, newsList is empty.   • SQL Server 2008 Management Studio doesn't recognize new Schema

    I have created a new Schema in a database called Contexts. Now when I want to write a query, Management Studio doesn't recognize the tables that belong to the new Schema. It says: 'Invalid object name Contexts.ContextLibraries'... Transact-SQL: INSERT INTO [Contexts].[ContextLibraries] (ChannelId, [IsSystem]) VALUES (@ChannelId, 1) When I try the same thing on my local database, it does work... Any ideas? I did try to change the Default schema for the user from dbo to Contexts but this doesn't work. Also checked Contexts in Schemas owned by this user without success. Update: Apparently the sql query does work but the editor gives a fault saying the object is invalid.

Then I want to do something like: Get-WinEvent -LogName "System" -MaxEvents 1 -FilterXPath "*[EventData[Data = 'Windows Management Instrumentation' and TimeCreated -gt $event1]]" Obviously the timecreated part bolded there doesn't work but I hope you get what I'm trying to do. any help?

    I have a column called post_tags where there is sometimes one tag entry and sometimes multiple tags stored. These are separated by * symbols. I want to display these out to the screen one by one. If there were just one item inside the cell I would have used: $query = mysql_query("SELECT post_tags FROM posts WHERE id=$id"); while ($result = mysql_fetch_assoc($query)) { $result['post_tags']; } But how can I display each entry individually when there are multiple ones in one cell (is this what the explode function is for)?

  • PHP: Alternative to SESSIONS

    Hi, I have a PHP application that relies on session variables quite a lot. After login the user get redirected to a page that executes code to set up a load of session variables depending on who the user is. The application is using data from different sources and the sessions are used to store ID numbers to query the databases. So when the user goes to a page that will query their asset management system their ID for that particular database is called via the session. I've had a LOT of problems with session variables recently. Sometimes only one session file is created during the lifetime of the app, and sometimes each session request results in a new session id (still haven't managed to find out why!). My question is this. Is there an alternative to using session variables for this? Like globals or some other way? Any help most appreciated! Regards, Jonesy

Or are there any other methods of storing data that relate to each other in totally random/abstract situations? Very abstract example of the relations needed: John relates to Mary, both relate to School, John is Tall, Mary is Short, John has Blue Eyes, Mary has Green Eyes, query I want is which people are related to 'Short people that have Green Eyes and go to School' - answer John It is possible in MySQL but it would require a fixed set of attributes/columns for each item and a complex non-flexible query, instead I need every attribute to be an item by itself and instead of 'belonging' to something, to be 'related' to something.

For example, I have three tables to join (tbl_topics, tbl_items, tbl_votes. Their relationship is defined as following: a topic can have many items and an item can have many votes. Now I want to retrieve a list of topics with the count of all votes on all items for each topic. The SQL query for this is written below: SELECT Topic.*, count(Vote.id) voteCount FROM tbl_topics AS Topic LEFT OUTER JOIN tbl_items AS Item ON (Topic.id = Item.topic_id) LEFT OUTER JOIN tbl_votes AS Vote ON (Item.id = Vote.item_id); My problem is I can do it easily using $this-><Model Name>->query function, but this requires sql code to be written in the controller which I don't want. I'm trying to find out any other way to do this (like find()).

    Hi everybody! Just learning Silverlight 4/RIA and i 'm stuck in a weird problem: setup an ASP.NET MVC project as the project hosting the Domain service. In this i tried to get data from the Domain Service which worked fine (i'm using a repository in it). Now i tried to setup a SL4 project. I though i do it the MVVM-way, so i decided to setup a ViewModel Class with the following code: public class ViewModel { OrganizationDomainContext dsCtxt = new OrganizationDomainContext(); public ViewModel() { EntityQuery<Culture> query = from cu in dsCtxt.GetAllCulturesQuery() select cu; LoadOperation<Culture> lo = dsCtxt.Load(query); } } The crazy thing about this is .. it doesn't return anything!!!
