    Is it possible to restrict updating a column in SQL without using a trigger ? If so how ?     Basically, I have a datetime parameter, after picking a date with the calendar widget, the date will display correctly (12/1/2010 or 1-DEC-2010). If the parameter tab refreshes in any way, either from report processing or changing another of the parameters, the date flips the month and day (1-DEC-2010 becomes 12-Jan-2010, or 12/1/2010 becomes 1/12/2010). I'm utilizing the SSRS plugin for C# (Microsoft.Reporting.Winforms.ReportViewer). Has anyone seen anything like this?

    I seem to be unable to use :order_by for more than one column at a time. For example, I have a "Show" model with date and attending columns.     I've 2 web site, the first one myFirst.domain.com and the second one mySecondSite.domain.com. They stay on two different web server and my goal is allow a cross site authentication (my real need is shared authenticationForm Cookie). I've correctly setted web config (machine key node, forms node). The only different is about loginUrl where on myFirstSite appears like "~/login.aspx", instead on mySecondSite it appears like "http://myFirstSite.com/login.aspx". Note that I've not a virtual directory, I've just 2 different web apps. The problem: When I reach myFirstSite login page from mySecondSite I never get redirect from login page, it seems like if cookie doesn't being written.     Hello, I'm building a query with the LINQ dynamic library so I don't know how many potential parameters will I have and I get an error when trying to query DATE type fields: Operator '=' incompatible with operand types 'DateTime' and 'String' When I step through the debugger in the Dynamic.cs it shows that the value is of type string and the field is of type date so the problem is obvious but I have no idea how to approach it. Any ideas? BR

  • How does timezone really work in relation to PHP and MYSQL?

    I am getting very strange results in terms of timezones. I am currently using Wordpress and everytime I register a new user, I see the wrong datetime in the database. Ok so I am suspecting it is picking up the server time. So then I then set in php.ini to have date.timezone = "America/Los_Angeles" but again the time is still not correct in the database...And yes I have also set the timezone in Wordpress correctly. So how can this be done?

  • Need help with 2 MySql Queries. Join vs Subqueries.

    I have 2 tables: user: id, name message: sender_id, receiver_id, message, read_at, created_at There are 2 results I need to retrieve and I'm trying to find the best solution. I have included queries that I'm using in the very end. I need to retrieve a list of users, and also with each user have information available whether there are any unread messages from each user (them as sender, me as receiver) and whether or not there are any read messages between us ( they send I'm receiver or I send they are receivers) I need Same as above, but only those members where there has been any messaging between us, sorted by unread first, then by last message received. Can you advise please? Should this be done with joins or subqueries? In first case I do not need the count, I just need to know whether or not there is at least one unread message. I'm posting code and my current queries, please have a look when you get a chance: BTW, everything is the way I want in fist query. My concern is: In second query I would like to order by messages.created_at, but I dont think I can do that with grouping? And also I dont know if this approach is the most optimized and fast.
