    Hi there, I know it's possible to open links in an html page (let's say, if you're using Firefox) with TextMate if the link has this format: <a href="txmt://open?url=file:///home/.../index.html.haml">View</a> But is it possible to do a similar thing with VIM?   • why custom state won't work with compound drawable?

    Hello I am trying to make a password registration widget that will show a little checkbox in the textbox when both password boxes match. I decided to go about this by extending EditText to implement a valid and an empty state and then just use a state-list drawable to handle everything else. I followed the same method that the CompoundButton uses to add a custom state and everything seems to be right but the image will never change no matter what the state is (custom state or even state_focused etc) Is there some reason that the compound drawables of a TextView wouldn't work as a state-list drawable? Or, am I doing something wrong?   • Disable auto-indent certain items in Visual Studio 2005?

    I don't mind most of the way that VS2005 auto-indents (or auto-formats) my C++ code, but certain items I don't want it to automatically indent. Like #define statements for example. It takes them and shoves them all the way to the left side of the screen, no matter how deep into my scope I type them. That's really really annoying. Is there someway to alter this behavior, besides completely disabling auto-indent/format?

    Hello, I am writing a simple console application which will allow me to create a number of threads from a set of parameters passed through the arguments I provide. DWORD WINAPI ThreadFunc(LPVOID threadData) { } I am packing them into a struct and passing them as a parameter into the CreateThread method and trying to unpack them by casting them to the same type as my struct from the LPVOID. I'm not sure how to cast it to the struct after getting it through so I can use it in the method itself, i've tried various combinations (Example attatched) but it won't compile.     I'm using codeigniter and the pagination class. This is such a basic question, but I need to make sure I'm not missing something. In order to get the config items necessary to paginate results getting them from a MySQL database it's basically necessary to run the query twice is that right? In other words, you have to run the query to determine the total number of records before you can paginate. So I'm doing it like: Do this query to get number of results $this->db->where('something', $something); $query = $this->db->get('the_table_name'); $num_rows = $query->num_rows(); Then I'll have to do it again to get the results with the limit and offset. Something like: $this->db->where('something', $something); $this->db->limit($limit, $offset); $query = $this->db->get('the_table_name'); if($query->num_rows()){ foreach($query->result_array() as $row){ ## get the results here } } I just wonder if I'm actually doing this right in that the query always needs to be run twice? The queries I'm using are much more complex than what is shown above.

  • Oracle why does creating trigger fail when there is a field called timestamp?

    I've just wasted the past two hours of my life trying to create a table with an auto incrementing primary key bases on this tutorial, The tutorial is great the issue I've been encountering is that the Create Target fails if I have a column which is a timestamp and a table that is called timestamp in the same table... Why doesn't oracle flag this as being an issue when I create the table? Here is the Sequence of commands I enter: Creating the Table: CREATE TABLE myTable (id NUMBER PRIMARY KEY, field1 TIMESTAMP(6), timeStamp NUMBER, ); Creating the Sequence: CREATE SEQUENCE test_sequence START WITH 1 INCREMENT BY 1; Creating the trigger: CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER test_trigger BEFORE INSERT ON myTable REFERENCING NEW AS NEW FOR EACH ROW BEGIN SELECT test_sequence.nextval INTO :NEW.ID FROM dual; END; / Here is the error message I get: ORA-06552: PL/SQL: Compilation unit analysis terminated ORA-06553: PLS-320: the declaration of the type of this expression is incomplete or malformed Any combination that does not have the two lines with a the word "timestamp" in them works fine. I would have thought the syntax would be enough to differentiate between the keyword and a column name. As I've said I don't understand why the table is created fine but oracle falls over when I try to create the trigger... CLARIFICATION I know that the issue is that there is a column called timestamp which may or may not be a keyword. MY issue is why it barfed when I tried to create a trigger and not when I created the table, I would have at least expected a warning. That said having used Oracle for a few hours, it seems a lot less verbose in it's error reporting, Maybe just because I'm using the express version though. If this is a bug in Oracle how would one who doesn't have a support contract go about reporting it? I'm just playing around with the express version because I have to migrate some code from MySQL to Oracle.

    If I output a formatted date as follows: DateTime.Parse("2010-06-02T15:26:37.789 +01:00").ToString("HH:mm:sszzz") I get the expected result: 15:26:37+01:00 However, if I parse the same date, convert to UTC and output with the same format as follows: DateTime.Parse("2010-06-02T15:26:37.789 +01:00").ToUniversalTime().ToString("HH:mm:sszzz") I get this: 14:26:37+01:00 Now those two dates, the local and UTC versions, should be exactly the same but the outputted text represents two different times. Why is this?
