  • Getting rid of the evil delay caused by ShellExecute

    - by korona
This is something that's been bothering me a while and there just has to be a solution to this. Every time I call ShellExecute to open an external file (be it a document, executable or a URL) this causes a very long lockup in my program before ShellExecute spawns the new process and returns. Does anyone know how to solve or work around this? EDIT: And as the tags might indicate, this is on Win32 using C++.

  • VSLauncher starts wrong version

    - by Matthew Scouten
I have 3 versions of Visual Studio installed, and 3 projects that require a specific version. VSLauncher USED to look at the SLN or VCPROJ file and open the correct version of Visual Studio. Now it only starts the most recent version, regardless of the project. Note that this has nothing to do with the commonly reported problem with beta versions of VS. none of the SLNs have ever been touched by a beta VS.

  • Delphi, how to make independent windows

    - by Roy M Klever
I have an application that uses tabs like the Chrome browser. Now I want to be able to open more forms and not be limited to only one form. These forms should act the same but if I close main form all forms are closed. How can I make all forms be equal, so no matter which form I close it only closes that form and not exit application before all forms are closed? Any ideas? Kind Regards Roy M Klever

  • Which credentials should I put in for Google App Engine BulkLoader at development server?

    - by Hoang Pham
Hello everyone, I would like to ask which kind of credentials do I need to put on for importing data using the Google App Engine BulkLoader class appcfg.py upload_data --config_file=models.py --filename=listcountries.csv --kind=CMSCountry --url=http://localhost:8178/remote_api vit/ And then it asks me for credentials: Please enter login credentials for localhost Here is an extraction of the content of the models.py, I use this listcountries.csv file class CMSCountry(db.Model): sortorder = db.StringProperty() name = db.StringProperty(required=True) formalname = db.StringProperty() type = db.StringProperty() subtype = db.StringProperty() sovereignt = db.StringProperty() capital = db.StringProperty() currencycode = db.StringProperty() currencyname = db.StringProperty() telephonecode = db.StringProperty() lettercode = db.StringProperty() lettercode2 = db.StringProperty() number = db.StringProperty() countrycode = db.StringProperty() class CMSCountryLoader(bulkloader.Loader): def __init__(self): bulkloader.Loader.__init__(self, 'CMSCountry', [('sortorder', str), ('name', str), ('formalname', str), ('type', str), ('subtype', str), ('sovereignt', str), ('capital', str), ('currencycode', str), ('currencyname', str), ('telephonecode', str), ('lettercode', str), ('lettercode2', str), ('number', str), ('countrycode', str) ]) loaders = [CMSCountryLoader] Every tries to enter the email and password result in "Authentication Failed", so I could not import the data to the development server. I don't think that I have any problem with my files neither my models because I have successfully uploaded the data to the appspot.com application. So what should I put in for localhost credentials? I also tried to use Eclipse with Pydev but I still got the same message :( Here is the output: Uploading data records. • Secure, simple php faq creating/editing scripts?

    - by Tchalvak
I'm looking to build a simple site centered around a simple faq system in php. The faq concept is simple, but I want to have an administrative-access backend for editing and creating the entries, and securing a login seems more complex and time-consuming, so I'm looking for suggestions for code to start me off. Does anyone know of any open source php scripts or snippets that would work for administrative login to some php scripts that could be used as a simple faq system? Or both, the faq php code + web administrative access code?

  • Twitter mood API

    - by user220755
Is there a twitter API that returns mood? I have seen some websites that return the mood of a specific tweet and I want to be able to use an API (or to use some open source code) to get the mood of a tweet, does anyone know if there is an easy way to do that or if there is an already built API for this?

  • Blog: How does Lifehacker implement their comment system?

    - by NickT
I really like how Lifehacker.com (and Gawker.com) implements their comment system. I believe, but am not certain, they use Movable Type as the platform for their blog. What I like about their comment system is that it's a simple open text field and once you click "Share" it then asks you to register. Question: Anyone know how to accomplish this same functionality with either Wordpress or Movable Type?

  • Perl - Encoding String for XML

    - by Sho Minamimoto
I'm not too fluent with the perl XML libraries (actually, I really suck at understanding encoding in general), all I'm doing is taking a string that possibly has characters such as "à" and putting it in an XML file, but when I open the file, I get an encoding error at the line containing such a character. So I just need a lightweight way to take a string and encode it for XML.

  • Usb Driver on 64bit Windows

    - by SurDin
I have a pretty generic 64bit driver based on bulkusb.sys in WDK. It's been working for years with an embedded program, but now it is needed to work on Vista 64. From all the documentation I've tried to look through there doesn't seem to be anything affecting it, except compiling it for the 64bit environment, and yet when I compile it with the AMD64 build environment, I get "driver not intended for this platform" error message when it's trying to open the sys. What could be the solution for this?

  • Android JARSIGNER GUI tool?

    - by BahaiResearch.com
Newbie question. After I have written the Android App (easy part) I need to sign it and upload it (seems the hard part) Is there an Open Source app or tool that I can use to do this so that I don't have to write command shell scripts. JARSIGNER looks overly complex. I'm looking for a dead simple Sign-And-Package up tool. I am using Eclipse with the Android plug in.

In my code I'm attempting to use a transaction using TransactionScope with Entity Framework. While in this transaction we are opening a regular SQL connection to a seperate server and database. When the conn.Open() is called we get an Error: "Network access for Distributed Transaction Manager (MSDTC) has been disabled. Please enable DTC for network access in the security configuration for MSDTC using the Componet Services Administrative tool." However, MSDTC is enabled and running on the Server.

How can I activate this editor? I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8 and Eclipse 3.5.2 Galileo.

  • Setting SQL database Permissions for Visual Studio Data Config Wizard

    - by Raven Dreamer
Hello, Stackoverflow! I'm new to SQL. I have created a new database in SQL Server Management Studio, and am now trying to attach it to a windows forms project in Visual Studio via the built in Data Configuration Wizard. Currently, whenever I try to attach the database file, I get a permissions error: "You don't have permission to open this file. Contact file owner or administrator to obtain permission" So, simple question -- how do I modify the permissions of my database to allow this?
