    Hello! 2 days ago I found out that iTunes interface become buggy. Here are some screenshots: UI bugs in listview headers: iTunes doesn't download app icons in App Store: CoverFlow doesn't show album arts: Finder and other apps are working well, without any artifacts. Macbook 062 (Intel C2D 2.13, GMA950), Mac OS X 10.6.2, iTunes 9.0.2. I have reinstalled iTunes via Apple's site - nothing. What do you advice to do?

    hello i installed debian squeeze in my pc but i dont have any sound , my sound device is Ac97 and i installed these package in my system alsa-base alsa-oss alsa-tools alsa-utils alsamixergui gstreamer0.10-alsa libao-common libao4 libasound2 linux-sound-base oss-compat when i want to run alsamixer io got this message cannot open mixer: No such file or directory anyone know why i got this message ? and i cant hear any sound in my pc?

  • Software for decreasing of touchpad sensitivity (when finger is hovering over touchpad it detect it) (alps touchpad)

    I have an issue with touchpad, when I use it and I have one finger on the touchpad plate and another finger very close to the plate (but i do not touch it with the other finger), my mouse pointer is jumping around the screen. It seems to be an issue with touchpad which detects finger even if it is not touching the plate. I have dell e6530 with Apls touchpad driver and windows7, is there some software which can somehow help to mitigate this effect it is really annoying, on my previous laptop (7 years old) i did not have such issue.

    Could somebody be able to explain to me what the various unix_listners do in the Dovecot 2.x configuration (specifically 10-master.conf). Currently, for postfix to use to deliver mail, I have: service lmtp { unix_listener /var/spool/postfix/private/dovecot-lmtp { group = postfix mode = 0660 user = postfix } } and for auth I have: service auth { unix_listener /var/spool/postfix/private/auth { mode = 0666 } unix_listener auth-userdb { mode = 0666 user = vmail } } So what does each one specifically do? Also, does somebody know of a resource that can explain the mode setting?

    I have a list of files I need to copy on a Linux system - each file ranges from 10 to 100GB in size. I only want to copy to the local filesystem. Is there a way to do this in parallel - with multiple processes each responsible for copying a file - in a simple manner? I can easily write a multithreaded program to do this, but I'm interested in finding out if there's a low level Linux method for doing this.

    Could anyone explain to me why is it that producers of processors claim that their processor can perform so many thousands (or millions) operations per second and yet typical program (Word, VS etc.) on my machine with 4GB, 3500hz starts with no less than 10sek. Have to mention that I've just formatted disk and tick any necessarry boxes to optimize my machine. So if for example outlook starts in 10 sek I wonder how many millions of operations have to be performed to run such program? Thanks

    Is there a program where I can type one, two or more components of chemical reaction and find out the result of it? For example, I enter "N2 + H2" and it gives me "N2 + H2 ? NH3". Or "C10H8 + O2" and it shows "C10H8 + O2 ? CO2 + H2O". I don't need coefficient calculator, where I type full reaction and it calculates coefficients (marked bold in next example): C10H8 + 12 O2 = 10 CO2 + 4 H2O.

  • Finder Using Nearly 100% CPU

    I'm having a problem where the Finder uses WAY too much CPU time. It's using up to 100% of one of my cores. I'm running 10.6.2 on a MacBook Pro w/ 6GB of RAM, plenty of fast (SSD) disk space. I also run DropBox and BackBlaze. I've tried disabling my third party stuff (DropBox and BackBlaze), but that doesn't seem to help. It's killing my battery life!

  • How to reset mysql's replication settings completely, without reinstalling it?

    I set up mysql replication by adding references to binlogs, relay logs etc in my.cnf restarted mysql, it worked. I wanted to change it so I deleted all binlog related files including log-bin.index, removed binlog statements from my.cnf restarted server, works set master to '', purge master logs since now(), reset slave, stop slave, stop master. now, to set up replication again, I added binlog statements to the server. But then I hit this problem when restarting with: sudo mysqld (the only way to see mysql's startup errors) I get this error: /usr/sbin/mysqld: File '/etc/mysql/var/log-bin.index' not found (Errcode: 13) Because indeed, this file does not exist! (I deleted it, while trying to set up a new replication system) Hmm, if I change the config line to: log-bin-index = log-bin.index I get a different error: [ERROR] Can't generate a unique log-filename /etc/mysql/var/bin.(1-999) [ERROR] MSYQL_BIN_LOG::open failed to generate new file name. [ERROR] Aborting The first time I set up replication on this system, I didn't need to create this file. I did the same thing - added references to a previously non-existing file, and mysql created it. Same with relay logs, etc. I don't know why mysql insists on trying to read the old folder. Should I just reinstall the whole package again?
