  I have a wsf service and a client application. While trying to communicate the client and the service I've gotten the following message: "The formatter threw an exception while trying to deserialize the message: There was an error while trying to deserialize parameter http://tempuri.org/:blob. The InnerException message was 'There was an error deserializing the object of type FileBlob. The maximum array length quota (16384) has been exceeded while reading XML data. This quota may be increased by changing the MaxArrayLength property on the XmlDictionaryReaderQuotas object used when creating the XML reader. Line 1, position 25931.'. Please see InnerException for more details." I have the customBinding element and it doesn't allow me to insert "readerQuotas" section. • GUI and non gui difference

  hi guys as i know we have gui and non gui application today. but remember back in the old days there were many application thats kinda like half gui half not . the applications are text based and it has no GUI like what we have now if we were to use java swing library or etc. but you could pretty much select the area that you want using keyboard shortcut . pretty much looks like vim with more features. basically it is text based but not fully gui so my question is how did they do this ? to make the text output persistent and process the data as being inputed non sequentially (non gui typically inputs data non sequentially)

• Sharing an assembly between ASP.NET and Silverlight

  Hi, I've created an assembly to share it between my main app and the silverlight app. At the beginning it looked like it was going to work but now I get this exception: "System.IO.FileNotFoundException was caught, Message="Could not load file or assembly 'System.Xml.Linq". I'm using .NET 3.5 Sp1 and Silverlight 3. That shared assembly uses System.Xml.Linq, and it cannot find it... I think because it is trying to find that version in the .NET framework instead looking in the silverlight one. How can I fix this? Cheers. • Disabling Magnifying Glass in UITextView in an iPhone App

  I want to display text and I want to be able to know where in this text a user touches. Because the text could be long, I wanted to use a UITextView so that wrapping and everything would be taken care of. I want my own event handling for when a touch begins or moves. My problem is that the magnifying glass and select/select all menu are interrupting my touchesMoved events. How can i disable the magnifying glass, but still have user interaction enabled so that I can detect the touches?

  Using the API, trying to get items in a specific feed returns this: {“direction”:”ltr”,”id”:”feed/http://arstechnica.com/index.rssx”,”title”:”Ars Technica”,”description”:”The Art of Technology”,”self”:[{"href":"http://www.google.com/reader/api/0/stream/contents/feed/http://arstechnica.com/index.rssx?ot\u003d1273193172856169\u0026r\u003dn\u0026xt\u003duser/-/state/com.google/read\u0026n\u003d4\u0026ck\u003d1273193873\u0026client\u003diPadReader"}],”alternate”:[{"href":"http://arstechnica.com/index.php","type":"text/html"}],”updated”:1273193873,”items”:[]} They look like key/value pairs but it’s plain text with UTF8 String encoding and won’t encode into a dictionary. I’m using Objective-C and I’m not sure where to go from here. So far I’ve been able to parse the XML response for unread items, but parsing the plain-text doesn’t look feasible. What is your practice?

• Ant Copy Task: Failed to copy due to java.io.FileNotFoundException

  I'm trying to compile a Flex application in Ant (no problems here, I can do it fine). When I try to publish the contents of the project to a Windows network drive (known as "Z:\" on my system), I get the following LAME exception thrown by Java/Ant: BUILD FAILED C:\workspace\bkeller\build.xml:42: Failed to copy C:\workspace\bkeller\web\assets\text\biography.html to Z:\web\bkeller\assets\text\biography.html due to java.io.FileNotFoundException Z:\web\bkeller\assets\text\biography.html (The system cannot find the file specified) Which kind of sucks. I can't find any way to get rid of this problem and it's pretty crucial to my project that I get this working. I know for sure that I have read/write/execute permissions on the network drive, I can create/edit/delete files on the drive just fine through Windows explorer. Drive Z is a network mount to virtualbox, allowing me to get access to my host OS, Ubuntu. I've double checked that it has write permissions. Any ideas?

  Hello all, I have read through all relevant posts on Prawn but found no mentioning (even in Prawn's own documentation) of headers and footers. However, I did see a demo on Prawnto's own website about headers and footers. I copied the entire source of that demo just to see if it works but an error of undefined method "header" is complained about. Am I to understand that Prawn took out header and footer recently in the gem or is there something else I need to do first to use header and footer?   I'm using the curvycorners jQuery plugin (http://www.curvycorners.net/instructions/) to force IE to render rounded corners on divs. It works really well, apart from one thing: I have a validation error-message that pops up inside the div, using jQuery's "show" method. Curvycorners adds an extra div that is absolute positioned and has a set height, this means that you have to redraw the rounded corners if you want the containing div to resize when the error-message is shown.   I'm having some trouble understanding Outlook terms (CommandBarPopup, CommandBarButton etc) like what is what in Outlook so please be patient. I would like to create couple of things: I would like to create new group (or just button but i read it's not possible to add a button to an existing group in ribbon) on new mail next to Signature/Add attachment in Message Ribbon. It would have to work the same way Signature works so when you press it it display couple of options. How can i create it? I would like to override a button "NEW" (where you can choose that you want to send new mail, make appointment or do other things) so that when you are in Main Window when you press the down arrow next to new button you could choose one of options i will add? Is this possible? How do I do it?   I have a site where I am trying to implement a jQuery UI based MessageBox in my master page. Content pages are arranged accoring to business area folders, i.e. '~/Branding/Contracts.aspx'. I find that when I load such a content page, jQuery, which is referenced in the master page as below, does not load. I assume that this is because the browser is requesting 'Branding/Scripts/jQuery '. What can I do about this?   I am trying to develop web parts in VS 2008/WinXP I created a Web Site project, and added a couple of web parts within the default form in default.aspx <form id="form1" runat="server"> <div> <asp:WebPartManager ID="WebPartManager1" runat="server"> </asp:WebPartManager> <asp:WebPartZone ID="WebPartZone1" runat="server"> </asp:WebPartZone> </div> </form> When I first ran it (in the debugger), a popup told to me enable Windows authentication in IIS (so something is working!). I enabled the Windows authentication, and now when I run it I get a blank screen. Same result if I open it in IE via the url (rather than debugger). • Open flash chart not working

  I'm trying to implement Open Flash Chart in my website but it doesn't work. The chart just start loading for a second and the loader animation disappear and nothing happening (Only a black swf area). i've downloaded the latest version which is 2 and here is my folders scheme: // ROOT // ? • UIImageWriteToSavedPhotosAlbum with malloc_error

  I have an NIB file with a button. When I click this button, the setWallpaper: selector is called. Everything works as expected (the image is saved), excepte by the error thrown by malloc. malloc: *** error for object 0x184d000: pointer being freed was not allocated *** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug I've set a breakpoint at malloc_error_break, but I don't understand anything from the debugger. I couldn't even find the object 0x184d000. Does anyone know why is this happening? I had also tried to retain the UIImage before sending it to UIImageWriteToSavedPhotosAlbum, but without success. I've deployed the webpage and the WCF webservice to that machine.
