    CURRENT: single domain, single Exchange 2007 NEW: two domains, single Exchange 2007 Can this be done? Details: Current setup is a single W2k3 domain with a single Exchange 2007 server. We are merging with another company that currently hosts their email with their ISP via POP3. We'd like to start hosting their email on our Exchange server using their existing domain SMTP addresses. They don't have an AD domain at all at the moment. Recommendations? Can I do this with a trust between the 2 domains? Requirements: They can't have multiple SMTP addresses on both domains...such as I've seen with articles pointing to "hosting multiple domains". I want companyA to have the same account settings they've always had...companyB to have the same SMTP address they've had and not an additional one on the current companyA Exchange domain. They should be able to collaborate (calendar, contacts, GALs) but should still be distinguishable based on which company they "work for". Please help...thanks!

  • What Triggers a syncronization between Exchange 2007 Mail Store and Edge Servers?

    We are using Exchange 2007 for our mail. In our configuration, we need to add an alias to each users mailbox. When we do, the Edge server, another Exchange 2007 box, will reject the alias with a User Unknown error until the next morning. I seem to recall that in Exchange 2003, you could force an update from the Management console, but I can not find a way in 2007. It is obvious that a sync job is scheduled to run each night, but I cannot find it.

Server: it says Apashi (wtf!?), it is Apache in reality PHP 5.2.5 FreeBSD cPanel Version 11.24.4-RELEASE Kernel version 6.3-PRERELEASE main page: index.html I guess it is because of index.html But why?

    Hello, I have a 150 GB hard drive on a windows 2008 server. 87 GB partition for D:\ 10 GB partition for C:\ I cannot extend/increase the partition for C:\ in the disk manager utility. as described here: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/resize-a-partition-for-free-in-windows-vista/ I tried doing it through the command: http://www.winvistaclub.com/t11.html However I got the error: There is not enough space available on the disk(s) to complete this operation.

  • Mysql replication, one database server process

    On my development box, I want to experiment with a replication setup. But I don't want to create several mysqld processes (is it even possible?). I figured I have the main database in the process - have this as the master, then in the same process create the slave databases, and have the master data replicated into the databases that exist in the same db server. Is this possible? Is there an easier way of achieving this without trying to set up replication? Maybe to put it more simply: I want my Mysql server to be both master and slave(s) at the same time.

  • Pxe boot ubuntu server - corrupt packages

    I have set up a cobbler pxe boot server and managed to get centos5.8 to fully automatically install. Unfortunately with Ubuntu 12.04-server-i386, it stops mid-way through with a message stating that packages are corrupt. I tried following this tip to unzip the Packages.gz file which results in an empty Packages file with nothing in it. Other people suggested doing a touch command which essentially does the exact same thing, an empty Packages file. That results in me getting a different message that states: Couldn't retrieve dists/precise/restricted/binary-i386/Packages. This may be due to a network..... Does anyone know how to work around this issue? Hitting continue before having made the tip/workaround resulted in ubuntu installing fine, but I need to be able to provide no manual input. Any advice appreciated, Stu

  • Can't connect to windows via ssh

    I downloaded cygwin and ran ssh-host-config. I'm trying to connect using ssh -l micah myserver it then says micah@myserver's password: I enter the same password I use to log into windows and it says Permission Denied, please try again. After the third try it says: Permission denied (publickey,password,keyboard-interactive). What am I doing wrong? Any ideas? Do I need to generate an ssh key on the client and add it somewhere on the server?

  • Adding SSI support causes mod_dir "trailing slash" redirect to stop working

    I have enabled SSI using the following directives in .htaccess AddHandler server-parsed .html AddOutputFilter INCLUDES html However when I add these, the trailing slash redirects stop working. For eg. http://testwp.humbug.in/test/index.html works fine but http://testwp.humbug.in/test/ doesn't work. In chrome it gives a "Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE)" error while in firefox it shows a blank page. What additional configuration do I need for both mod_dir and mod_include to work properly?

  • Launching a process on startup in ubuntu fails to start other processes

    On Ubuntu Server I've written a c++ program which launches another process which is in python. The c++ process runs fine on startup but the python process never launches. It gets created and when I run "top" I can see that both process's are running but next to the one that says python it reads python defunct. I've created the startup script in /etc/init.d and updated rc.d. Is there something else I have to do in order for it to see the python application?

    I have the standalone Hyper-V Server 2012 running and I'm trying to create the first VM on it but I'm getting the following error: From my research, this error comes up with something related to the Intel IPMI driver but I have an Asus motherboard so I didn't think it was the problem. However, I ran the ResetAccess.exe fix anyways and to no surprise it said something like "This version of Windows does not require this fix". Thank you

    Hello, i need a recomendation on what hardware (PC) to buy in order to achieve this task: I have a webserver (WAMP) running in my laptop, this server has a webapp who can manage information from a user. In a few words, a user enter in my webserver and a php script ask gim for a mensage who get store in a MYSql database, in other hand, inside the same PC there is a flash running with a frontend who take this mensages and shows it.     Hello, I'm currently managing a site that I feel could be optimized and utilized to be much faster, however, I'm having difficulty finding reliable information to do it. I find the Apache documentation to be a hard read, and too technical about things I don't have a strong grasp on. I'm just looking for a good beginner/intermediate book about server administration to learn as much as possible about Apache, as well as how to create a nice secure, robust server that doesn't crash at the first hint of unusual traffic surges.     I am trying to create a login script, or bat file to delete the folder located in the following directory. I would like the whole folder deleted with all of its contents "Juniper Networks". This is on a terminal server - C:\Users(username)\AppData\Roaming\Juniper Networks I can write a script for each username, but want a script to put in the startup folder that deleted the folder of the current user each time they login.

  • Building an SSL server farm

    I'm interested in building the the architecture in the article referenced below. I currently have a modestly-priced layer-4 load balancer and my application servers are the SSL endpoints. I want to put an SSL server farm in between my load balancer and my app servers. Then I will put another inexpensive load balancer between the SSL farm and my app servers, to do layer-7 routing. My web application has a fairly high amount of consumer traffic, that 6 servers can handle at about 50% capacity. Additionally, I have infrastructure traffic that is several orders of magnitude heavier than my consumer traffic. This is data coming in from all over the world that must integrate with my web application in real time. In total I have 18 app servers to handle all the traffic, plus 6 database servers. I will be adding 6 more app servers over the next 2 weeks and another 6 the 2 weeks after that. Conservatively, I estimate I will need to scale to 120 servers by the end of the year. My motivation right now is to separate the consumer traffic from the infrastructure traffic. The consumer traffic is higher priority than the infrastructure traffic and I cannot allow a stampede on the infrastructure side to take down my consumer-facing servers. Having a website that is always up is the top priority. However if there is a failure in one of the consumer app servers, I want to route that traffic to the servers designated for infrastructure traffic. The complication is that all the traffic is addressed using the same hostname and is nearly 100% https. The only way in my case to distinguish infrastructure from consumer traffic is by URL (poor architecture I inherited), so I need a layer 7 load balancer to be able to route. However for that to work I need either a fancy hardware-based SSL terminator or an SSL server farm as described above. Because my user base is rapidly scaling, I worry that if I go down the hardware path it will become very expensive very fast, especially since I will need 4 of everything for high availability (2 identical setups in 2 facilities). Meanwhile, the above diagram seems very flexible and more horizontally scalable. Has anyone built this before? Are there pre-built configurations? What considerations should I make and what software should I use (I've heard of people using apache with mod-ssl, nginx, and stunnel)? Also, when does it make sense to buy an expensive load balancer vs building an SSL server farm? http://1wt.eu/articles/2006_lb/index_05.html
