    i am extracting file names of html files using line: filename = File.basename(input_filename, ".*") which currently prints full file name excluding .html extension All files are stored in the form of http^x.x.edu^1^2 all file names begin with http^ and contain edu^ what i want is to extract 2 (which changes) but it is always the second element after .edu I have attempted destructive gsub! but i m weak with regular expressions.

    I expect any good program should do all their reads and writes in a loop until all data written/read without relying that write will write everything (even with regular files). Am I right? Implemented simple FUSE filesystem which only allows reading and writing with small buffers, very often returning that it is written less bytes that in a buffer (using -o direct_io). Some programs work, some not. Are them buggy or programs should not expect truncated writes and reads from the regular files?

    I have series of files like this: foo1.txt.gz foo2.txt.gz bar1.txt.gz ..etc.. and a tabular format files that describe the file foo1 - Explain foo1 foo2 - Explain foo2 bar1 - Explain bar1 ..etc.. What I want to do is to have a website with a simple search bar and allow people to type foo1 or just foo and finally return the gzipped file(s) and the explanation of the file(s).     My company has data messages (json) stored in gzipped files on Amazon S3. I want to use Ruby to iterate through the files and do some analytics. I started to use the 'aws/s3' gem, and get get each file as an object: #<AWS::S3::S3Object:0x4xxx4760 '/my.company.archive/data/msg/20131030093336.json.gz'> But once I have this object, I do not know how to unzip it or even access the data inside of it.

    OK first off thanks for your time I wish I could give more than one point for this question. Problem: I have some music files on my site (.mp3) and I am using a php file to increment a database to count the number of downloads and to point to the file to download. For some reason this method starts at 350kb/s then slowly drops to 5kb/s which then the file says it will take 11hrs to complete. BUT if I go directly to the .mp3 file my browser brings up a player and then I can right click and "save as" which works fine complete download in 3mins. (Yes both during the same time for those that are thinking it's my connection or ISP and its not my server either.) So the only thing that I've been playing around with recently is the php.ini and the .htcaccess files.     I am trying to install a package via pip, but there were missing files from the zip file. So I copy the files and then compile with gcc. But now I cannot continue with the installation by calling pip install because it sees a pre-existing directory and will not proceed. This is with pip version 1.5.6, but I thought that with earlier versions of pip that it was less fussy about this. What are the remaining steps to complete the package installation?

    Hi all. I have a project that I have been running on IRIX that builds fine with gmake. I copied the source and make files onto a Redhat machine, and running gmake gives me the error posted in the subject. This is during a part of the make that is building .d dependency files, and they are separated by a colon, which I have read is a no-no, but why does it work on one system and not the other?     I'm trying to import existing Cake 1.2 projects into PHP Eclipse (latest all-in-one download on Galileo build) - I don't think I understand Eclipse properly: 1) I have created Workspace on my web root C:\Program Files\xampp\htdocs 2) I have created new Project C:\Program Files\xampp\htdocs\EclipseCake ... how do I import my existing cake project into my new project (EclipseCake) ? I tried Configure Include Path - Project - Add ... but no file browser appears. I'm obviously misunderstanding this.

Before I start processing I'd like to get a count of the number of lines in the file, so I can then indicate how far along the processing is. I am using Ruby, and because of the size of the files, it would not be practical to read the entire file into memory just to count how many lines there are. Does anyone have a good suggestion on how to do this?

I am not using a svn client for this repo, but managing everything with ankhsvn (including adding solution file and project files to the new repo). I want to add the svn:needs-lock preperty to these files. I wonder if I can do this task using ankhsvn, or if I need to get another svn client for this purpose.
