It's not my first time installing it, but it's the first time having two annoying problems: 1) Randomly, the system clock changes time all by itself - to fix it I have to open the time window and sync it with the internet. 2) Randomly, internet connection stops working - to fix I have to run troubleshooting. Windows will find a problem with IP on the "Ethernet" connection and fix it. 3) In rare occasions, my PC freezes and I need to restart it (a BSOD once happened, but after that only freezes) How can I permanently solve these problems? This is what I've already tried: Reset Virus scan Stop/reset the Windows Time service Disable/re-enable Windows Time automatic internet sync Change time from BIOS Change motherboard battery

  • Pendrive not working on USB port - USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 27CC

    I have a situation here, is kind of weird. Situation as below: If i enable the 'Intel(R) 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 27CC' , then my pc will not be able to read any USB stick/pendrive, but usb port work fine with keyboard and mouse. If I disable the device driver, then all kind of pendrive can be read. Below is What i have done : 1) try the same pendrive on other pc, it work like charm. 2) try others pendrive on issue pc, same problem, but it work fine in others pc. 3) try all the port, including the port that connected to mouse n keyboard. 4) update the driver version. 5) restore default setting of usb in bios Please help to solve these issue if anyone experience it before.   • Facing gestures in Linux mint Chrome Browser

    I am using Linux mint OS since an Year , I use to consistently download updates and install , I use chrome as a default browser , when ever I open youtube and watch some video , I listen to some gestures in sound ( say repeated lyrics of song ) while it is playing , In firefox it is working fine . What is the problem am I missing any plugin , AFAIK Chrome doesn't need a flash player plug in , It has a built in flash player . IS that the problem ? And also previously I was not facing this , recently I started using Cinimon UI centOS after this all these kind of problems started MY hard ware is 64 bit intel core i3 and also I have installed linux mint 64 bit Please let me know what is the problem and how to fix this . Its weird but I haven't seen so many popular light themes (white background). Does anyone knows a light Vim scheme which makes code more readable and pleasant to see? (that makes code less confusing to distinguish, something like Visual studio's default scheme?)

  • No display but video card fans spins

    Since I moved my computer there's no display when I plug my screen in the video card but works fine in the mother board. I tried reseting the cmos, but I still have the same problem. The fans are spining and there's a light from the card. I tried the DVI ports and the HDMI Here's my build. I have it for 2 months and everything was working fine. Do you think it's the video card? Asus p8z68-v pro gen3 Intel i7 2600k 120 GB OCZ Agility 3 16 GB RAM Blue Corsair DDR3 Asus GTX 570 H80 Corsair liquid cooling XFX PRO750W 80Plus bronze power supply EDIT That's why And I can't push more cause the card is on this Thank you everyone!   • Centos 6 - How to upgrade module located inside initramfs?

    We have recently upgraded our e1000e (intel ethernet) module on one of our centos 6.0 boxes. Even tho the module compile and installed fine, the old version is still being used. We have tracked this down to the fact that the e1000e.ko module is located inside the initamfs file for the booting kernel and thus, even tho the module located in /lib/modules/.... was being updated, the old one is still being loaded from inside the initramfs file. After some research, we have found that creating a new initamfs file in centos should be as simple as: /sbin/dracut <initramfs> <kernel-version> Can someone confirm that this is a safe way to basically recreate the initamfs file? This is a non-locally hosted (1000's of km away...) box, and getting support to resolve this if a reboot is unsuccessful will lead to quite a bit of down time. Thanks.

  • Processor upgrade on a laptop vs. Ram upgrade. Also does ram always matter?

    I have a Dell Inspiron 14r (N4110) with an Intel Core i3 and 4gb of ram. It runs very smoothly, however gaming on this laptop is very limited. This is mostly because of integrated graphics but i have seen a computer with a Core i5, and very similar specs otherwise, run games that the N4110 cannot. This other computer has integrated graphics and 6gb of ram. I am wondering whether upgrading ram or upgrading the processor make the most difference in performance. Which setup would get better performance, an i5 with 4gb of ram or an i3 with 8 gb of ram? (Both with integrated graphics) Also, is there a certain point at which you have too much ram for the computer to ever possibly use? For instance is there really any difference in performance between 8 gb and 16 gb of ram?

  • Windows 7 clean install, freezes when starting programs

    Hello Everyone, I have a problem on a brand new Windows 7 Lenovo T510 intel I5/4gb ram. When I got the Laptop, right off the bat i noticed that it would freeze up often on th most simple tasks. After a while I got fed up and reinstalled. All that is installed currently is AVG/Firefox/Office. I Rebooted after installing those things and when I try to open Firefox it freezes just trying to open. Ive tried a few other things and it freezes all the time. Any Ideas what it could be?

Specifically: Address space layout randomization (ASLR) Heap randomization Stack randomization The article went on to say that "...some of these defenses are in the core operating system, and the Microsoft Visual C++ compiler offers others" but didn't explain how these strategies would actually increase security. Anyone know why memory randomization increases security, if at all? Do other platforms and compilers employ similar strategies?

    When I try to export the following function as a dll: extern "C" __declspec(dllexport) void some_func() { throw std::runtime_error("test throwing exception"); } Visual C++ 2008 gives me the following warning: 1>.\SampleTrainer.cpp(11) : warning C4297: 'some_func' : function assumed not to throw an exception but does 1> The function is extern "C" and /EHc was specified I need to extern "C" because I use Qt QLibrary to load the dll and resolve the function name. Without extern "C" it can't find the some_func() function.

    I just got the new version of safari y downloaded because my mac tell me there was new version that I should be getting. but when I try to run my this new version of the aplication .nothing happends¡ I mean the program seems to be working but nothing apears in the screen and so when I try to see my top sites a little window show up but it just dont show anything. then 3 seconds later the program shut down¡ I dont know why is happening this Im not so a expert in computers but this really is away of all I see on safari and on mac I got Mac OS X version 10.5.8 2.66ghz intel core 2 duo 4gb 1067 MHz DDR3

  • How can I connect to SQL Server using (local)\INSTANCE_NAME?

    I have a developer that is having trouble connecting to a SQL Server instance by entering the server name (local)\HIS_SERVER_INSTANCE into Visual Studio-Server Explorer. If he replaces (local) with his machine name, it connects fine. I have had similar issues before but they seemed to fix themselves. Does anyone know a fix for this?

    I've been scouring the net (mainly the wikipaedia lists and intel's site. I even pulled out the datasheet for my processor) but I can't seem to answer this question. Does my Xeon support hardware virtualisation? The processor in question is a: "Nocona" (standard-voltage, 90 nm) 2800MHz.   • print job doesn't go to print queue

    I have two printers hooked up to my intel imac. I am having a printing error. It seems that whenever i try to print (a simple text doc) I am unable to get the print job to go to print queue with one of my printers. I have a HP c7280 and a HP c3100. I am able to get one working properly, but the other doesn't seem to allow it to go to the print queue. I have switched usb cables (with the printer that I know works) and both printers are recognized by the computer in the printer preferences pane. I've tried reseting the printer system in the printer setup utility.. reloaded the drivers from HP.. etc. If anyone has a suggestion or could point me to a little help i'd be VERY grateful Best Regards..
