NSDateFormatter *dateFormatter = [[NSDateFormatter alloc] init]; [dateFormatter setDateFormat:@"EEE, dd MMM yyyy hh:mm a vvvv"]; NSDate *myDate = [dateFormatter dateFromString:date]; [dateFormatter setDateFormat:@"HH"]; NSLog(@"%@", [dateFormatter stringFromDate:myDate]); I want to format my string only to display only hours and currently I'm getting value like this. strDate =@"2010-04-10 14:00:00 +0530"; Can anyone please help me with this?......

  • NSXMLParser 's delegate and memory leak

    Hello, I am using a NSXMLParser class in my program and I assign a delegate to it. This delegate, though, gets retained by the setDelegate: method resulting to a minor, yet annoying :-), memory leak. I cannot release the delegate class after the setDelegate: because the program will crash. Here is my code: self.parserDelegate = [[ParserDelegate alloc] init]; //retainCount:1 self.xmlParser = [[NSXMLParser alloc] initWithData:self.xmlData]; [self.xmlParser setDelegate:self.parserDelegate]; //retainCount:2 [self.xmlParser parse]; [self.xmlParser release]; ParserDelegate is the delegate class. Of course if I set 'self' as the delegate, I will have no problem but I would like to know if there is a way to use a different class as delegate with no leaks. Thank you in advance.

    Since i'm working with Titanium i realzed that its current JavaScript Interpreter doesn't accept specific coding-styles. So for for-loops and if-statements i have to have braces, even though i only want to span one line. Furthermore there is more i have to change if i want to use a Javascript Library like underscore.js. This is what Titanium doesn't want to see: if (!(result = result && iterator.call(context, value, index, list))) {_.breakLoop();} if (nativeSome && obj.some === nativeSome) {return obj.some(iterator, context);} var computed = iterator ? iterator.call(context, value, index, list) : value; computed >= result.computed && (result = {value : value, computed : computed}); Can i use a simpler syntax to describe the logic behind those lines of code?

    I am parsing XML and I select from the UITablevView but I have an issue that how I am going to change the link on each selection? For example; www.example.com/test12.php?d=0 www.example.com/test12.php?d=1&il=istanbul www.example.com/test12.php?d=2&il=istanbul&ilce=kadikoy How can I change the d= and il= and ilce= value on each select on the UITableView? I need the value of the option, it is possible that there is more than one (in that case I need them both separated by a ,. Can someone help me out? Regards, Dodo

  • Best practise - Accessing preferences globally

    User preferences for my app is store in NSUserDefaults. This includes a "theme" preference, which needs to be accessed frequently by multiple classes. I would prefer not to call "[[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] objectForKey:..." repeatedly as it makes for inconcise code and I assume will incur overhead. What is the preferred and most concise method for accessing preferences in any class?
